Rumi | Branding & Packaging Design
Rumi stands for a celebration of self-love and taking care of oneself. It is from one’s strength and courage that they emerge from and the strength and courage that they add to. Rumi is a celebration of beauty by giving, and adding value to its most natural form. It is a celebration of you!
The modern consumer today believes in all things good & natural and will not let any nasties touch their skin. The world of beauty influencers swears by organic products that come with comfort, natural ingredients packed with essential rituals. Rumi believes in complementing the consumers “natural beauty” quite efficiently. Their range of products have been created keeping in mind the variety of skin types so that one can find a product curated for their needs.
So we at The Turtle Story went a step ahead to reflect an inner beauty so pure that also flows into its mystical nature by choosing 3 major elements:
1. Pastels
2. Minimalism
3. Edged Typography
Pastel palettes paired with minimal aesthetics come with a promise of sophistication & elegance – that embodies the true essence of Rumi with added comfort & strength. From the soft pink pastels to natural green matted creams, these designs magnetically draw the much needed attention and appeals to the modern, millennial audiences. The edged typography bottles the tenderness & the natural beauty that surrounds the brand and the logo invokes a sense of curiosity along with comfort & confidence.
The core of this project was to create a soothing design that emphasizes the curvature of every product making it effortlessly atypical.

Branding for Leela Feathers
Leela Feathers is an authentic organic brand based in Mumbai that offers a range of body care products for all skin types. All Leela products are a unique formulation of carefully chosen organic ingredients which are hand blended with love.
The logo is inspired from the veins of a leaf. Just like the veins of the leaf translocate the essential elements, Leela accesses the profound knowledge of Indian Ayurveda and offers it to the modern world in its purest form. The logo also resembles strands of a feather to personify the gentle love and care gone into making each and every product. As all offerings are hand-blended we needed a logo which communicates human touch and therefore the line quality is left natural.

Shoonya | Branding
A Boutique Apparel Label⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Shoonya or void -- is often perceived as 'emptiness' or sheer 'absence', however, it is often the presence of 'no-thing' -- The Limitless Presence. A blank slate, an empty canvas, a vacant space, the unexplored lands, are nothing but unlimited potential and boundless opportunities.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Discovered in the land of India, 'शून्य' or Zero has the greatest significance amongst numbers. It not only adds value to the other numbers , 'शून्य' is both the start and the end of numbers. Being the divisor to any number, it defines the concept of infinity; thus completing the cycle.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
We have incorporated this concept of Shoonya in the logo by interpreting the O’s in Shoonya as Zeros, depicting that it is presence beyond physical nature. The Zeros do exist, but they are beyond our perception.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
At Shoonya, we strive in our working methods in order to attain शून्य, which is also translated as limitless presence or boundless opportunities. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
‘People matter’. We reach out to artisans and weavers from the remotest parts of India, who create intricate and detailed textiles from the world’s oldest textile traditions⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
This opportunity not just gives them economic empowerment, but also improves their lives and allows them to invest in their families’ well being.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Our Fair Trade vision celebrates the cultural diversity of communities, while seeking to create a positive and equitable change. We respect their development of products and practices, based on their indigenous traditions and techniques. It is Shoonya’s humble effort to make them accessible to the global markets.

Branding & Web Design for Tax & Advisory Firm
"I had a great experience with them."
the reviewer
the review
A Clutch analyst personally interviewed this client over the phone. Below is an edited transcript.
Introduce your business and what you do there.
I’m the senior accountant at Aurtus Consulting LLP, a taxation advisory and consultancy.
What challenge were you trying to address with The Turtle Story?
We were starting our firm, so we needed a logo and name representing the values we wanted to portray as a firm. We also wanted to design for our website.
What was the scope of their involvement?
The initial mandate for The Turtle Story was to design the logo and the name; they gave us different name suggestions, and after agreeing on a concept, they designed our letterhead and signatures. After that, they created a website for our firm.
What is the team composition?
I worked with 3-4 people from their team.
How did you come to work with The Turtle Story?
They were referred to my boss by a professional connection, so we decided to reach out to them.
How much have you invested with them?
We spent $8,000–$10,000 with them.
What is the status of this engagement?
We worked together from November 2020–February 2021.
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
We partnered well with their team; they were friendly, patient, elaborate, and extensive. We also liked how they came up with the logo because they gave us multiple suggestions. Additionally, we’ve gotten comments from our circles saying that the logo turned out well and that the website is far easier to navigate.
How did The Turtle Story perform from a project management standpoint?
Project management was good; we communicated through phone calls.
What did you find most impressive about them?
They're diligent, and their team had an excellent creative edge. They were also patient because we had three people making design decisions.
Are there any areas they could improve?
I don't think there's anything they can improve on — I had a great experience with them. Nonetheless, I’d like a newsletter of the other creative things they do so I can see if there’s something else we can work together on.
Do you have any advice for potential customers?
It’s helpful to lay down your vision and how you want the product to turn out; the more open you are, the better it is for them to design it.

Please describe your company and your position there.
I am the Director of a manufacturers in premium aroma Oils, organic and natural food products and skincare products. The project is one of our organic skincare brands.
For what projects/services did your company hire The Turtle Story?
When the formulation stage of the skin care products were done. We wanted an experienced designer to understand the whole concept and the emotion and ideology behind and design the logo and packaging and marketing collateral accordingly.
What were your goals for this project?
We were very clear we wanted to identify ourselves with the premium organic skincare segment. So the logo had to be premium and must convey the organic side of the brand. Moreover every product had its own appeal and color so we wanted customers to see the real product color what it looks like . So the packaging should be in such a way that people can see what's inside..
How did you select this vendor?
We came across this vendor through a trusted source. Mr. Kedar Naik's work was commendable and we were very convinced that our project will be under the right hands .We were assured when we learnt about his experience, credibility and his approach with respect to designing a product.
Describe the project in detail.
We had to execute three things;
- Logo for skincare brand
- Packaging of 12 products .Each were different with respect to size and appeal
- Marketing Collateral ( Catalogue, Brochure, Banners )
The team of The Turtle Story spent a lot of time to understand the whole concept and we had 3-4 meetings in order to just understand the brand and the target audience experience well. They studied the ingredient list also to understand the key ingredients behind every product for better customer connect.
They gave us 3 options for the logo and 3 options with respect to packaging. The transparent bottle and label packaging was a hit among my customers as they could see the whole beautiful color of the product. The marketing collateral came out to be so beautiful and appealing to the customer eye.
The whole project was completed within 45 days however we were told that generally they would need at least 60 days to execute such work but due to our time constraints they could execute all this without compromising on the quality.
What was the team composition?
We were assigned an executive as the main point of contact .But during our meets we met with the main designer Mr.Kedar Naik who was leading the whole discussion and giving shape to this whole project another junior design executive was also present.
Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?
When we exhibited the 12 products in our first exhibition we were stocked out by the second day itself. We had so many of our customers talk about the packaging and design. It was just the way we wanted our customers to react to our product.Curious, thrilled and satisfied and looking for more these were the reactions.
How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?
We had an executive assigned to us to constantly understand and take notes regarding every product and we had team meets to check whether we were on the same page as they progressed with the design .So it was overall a smooth experience .
What did you find most impressive about this company?
The most impressive part about them is the way they empathize with the project and totally submerge themselves in it. They work to understand every thought that has gone behind developing the product. That is their victory. They leave no stone unturned to understand every aspect of the product and its outreach before starting up with the design.
Are there any areas for improvement?
We were running short of time but still everything was delivered on time. They were really excellent with their work .They never compromised on the quality. The work was so satisfactory and full value for money .

Please describe your company and your position there.
I am the marketing communication lead for general insurance broking company called Howden India insurance Brokers. We are part of Hyperion insurance group headquartered in UK. The group operates through 128 offices spread over 38 countries.I overseee internal and external communication including branding, digital marketing for my company.
For what projects/services did your company hire The Turtle Story?
Amidst this pandemic delivering crisp, high quality, eye catching, easy on content brochure became paramount to stand out from the communication clutter being received by everyone. We had a requirement to create a cyber security checklist brochure. The idea was convert the text heavy document into graphics so as to make it appealing and easy to comprehend. I approached The Turtle Story for this project.
What were your goals for this project?
The idea was convert the text heavy document into eye catching graphical representation so as to make it appealing and easy to comprehend.
How did you select this vendor?
The Turtle Story came through references from family and friends who worked with them to deliver professional projects. The Turtle Story was highly recommended for their approach to understanding a brief and their creative approach which spanned across industries. Post some Conversations and portfolio reviews, we zeroed down on The Turtle Story for our marketing deliverables.
Describe the project in detail.
Once we got The Turtle Story on board and after a few briefing calls, we began work almost immediately on the project at hand. The Turtle Story understood our challenges, explored our references and came up with a unique way to present the design. They were absolutely professional and patient with The umpteen number of changes that were recommended by us, not on the design front but on the content. The extended team were very happy with the final output and we are almost certain to continue to work with them on our future projects.
What was the team composition?
I was only in touch with the project lead who would be my POC for all calls and briefs.
Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?
The marketing literature in the insurance industry, in general, is considered to be text heavy and difficult to comprehend by the end users. Creative input to then simplify and create visually appealing collaterals becomes a necessity. With our cyber-security brochure both of these were met and appreciated by both our team and clients.
How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?
The team is very professional and very punctual with their deadlines. They are easy to work with and they are constantly giving new ideas and routes to consider, which is refreshing. One of the many challenges from our end was the constant changes in our content brief by our team but The Turtle Story accepted every little change patiently. The exchange of communication between us two was flawless. They were proactive and ensured updates about the progress was regularly sent.
What did you find most impressive about this company?
The creative energy that the vendor brings along is absolutely refreshing. The other projects that they have worked on and our conversations around it always made me realize how passionate they are about every little project they take up. They maintain a very professional approach and the delivery timings are flawless, two qualities hard to find in other vendors.
Are there any areas for improvement?
They delivered exactly what we were looking for and better. A happy client is a repeat client. They are a great team to work with.

Please describe your company and your position there.
I am the founder director of Inscape Design, a design team that specialises in commercial and residential interiors & retail experience. We work with home, work, shopping, or leisure environments, and use a methodical approach to interior design, to bring our clients’ core vision to life.
For what projects/services did your company hire The Turtle Story?
As a new interior design boutique competing in the highly overcrowded interior design supply industry, Inscape’s unique proposition of end-to-end design is a big differentiator. We needed help in designing our branding and client facing interface in a manner that would bring this differentiator to life.
For this task, I needed an agency that would partner with us, to make this vision of ourselves a reality. That is why I decided to go with turtle story. Turtle story took charge of the entire project, from designing our logo to all stationery including business cards, website design and marketing collaterals.
What were your goals for this project?
As a specialist in interior design, we know that first image is everything. We especially needed a logo that would impress upon the onlooker the end-to-end nature of Inscape, while reflecting the versatility and innovativeness of our work.
I think turtle story has done an excellent job in logo design. It truly depicts our presence across environments, while subtly revealing our initials, which was a superb trick by turtle story.
Once logo design was set, we needed our stationery to reflect this uniqueness too. Once again, turtle story delivered. It designed our business cards with a twist, such that every client, partner, and competitor who receives our business card, finds it hard to forget us.
How did you select this vendor?
I had given my interior designers a task of shortlisting 3-4 good branding firms in mumbai..they had shortlisted turtle story along with few others Having been on the lookout for the right agency, I had already discussed this with a few potentials and invited proposals. But by the second session with turtle story, I knew I had found the right agency.
Describe the scope of their work in detail.
We met twice with the team, and we took this opportunity to introduce turtle story to Inscape, and to explain in detail, our vision of Inscape and its future path. Turtle story came back to us with 3 logo designs and branding plans to go with each option.
After discussing what each option would entail in terms of market image and underlying messages, we settled on the current logo. We were especially impressed with how well turtle story had been able to bring our vision into reality. As a design specialist, it was particularly gratifying.
What was the team composition?
The creative director, a graphic designer and a junior designer.
Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?
Our logo and business cards have clearly proved their worth in terms of recall value. But an even further impressive factor, is that whenever we decide to expand our portfolio further, our branding will still be highly relevant and on point.
How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?
I was coordinating directly with the turtle team myself. The team was very efficient with very quick response time.
What did you find most impressive about this company?
Turtle Story’s creativity, speed of response, and professionalism were above par. The founder’s involvement at all times was a big plus. We will surely keep going back to them for all future needs. They are already working on our website design. We are happy to have found the turtle story.
Are there any areas for improvement?
They did a splendid job, nothing comes to my mind. I think it's a well rounded team.

Please describe your company and your position there.
I am the founder of Russet Furniture Studio based in Mumbai. We are a premium furniture brand that celebrates Indian heritage and craftsmanship through designs that are functional, elegant and contemporary.
For what projects/services did your company hire The Turtle Story?
We had a clear vision of how we want to position our brand in the market. We needed an agency who could understand and appreciate the value that Russet was offering to its customers.
After meeting a bunch of agencies, The turtle story became an obvious choice because the team not only were great with the creativity but also understood the business perspective of the project.
We tested them out with the logo design and after the first concept presentation itself we decided to hand over the complete creative requirements to them. Turtle did our entire branding, website, social media, marketing collaterals and brand launch
What were your goals for this project?
We wanted to create a sophisticated and timeless imagery of the brand and yet be in the contemporary space. I think the team had done a great job of translating our emotions into a tangible form.
How did you select this vendor?
We were introduced to the turtle story by one of my architect client who had done their logo and company presentation. At that point we were already discussing this project with 4 /5 agencies in Mumbai. But in a couple of sessions of exchanging ideas I was sure they were the right fit for us.
Describe the scope of their work in detail.
The process started with me giving a brief of what i had in mind in terms of capturing the Indianness and yet being global. we shared the images of the furniture pieces of our first collection for the teams reference.
The Turtle team then came back to us with two branding approaches we could take to build the brand. We were really impressed with the approach presented and like a typical client ( which I was told later :)) we kind of merged the two ideas and asked the team to detail it further.
The next presentation we were shown the logo, colors, copy, and basically all the elements to build the identity including the tags on the furniture and labels and brass pins on furniture. I think the logo has come out really well and it looks great even on the products. We requested for some minor tweaks and in the next presentation our logo was ready.
Brand guide was then finalized following which the website and social media artworks were done. The styling and photography was also done by the turtle team.
What was the team composition?
The founder who is also their creative head was my point of contact. He was leading the project along with 2 graphic designers, a copywriter and a product designer who was also the photographer.
Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?
Everyone, literally, loves our logo and the story behind it. The way the social media is handled and also the marketing collaterals, has certainly given us an edge over our competition. There is a certain sophisticating and grace in all our branding and promotional material.
How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?
I think both the teams just loved what they were creating and therefore it was pretty seamless. It was truly a demonstration of teamwork. The teams were very proactive and hence we managed to complete the project in the estimated timelines which was a pleasant surprise.
What did you find most impressive about this company?
Their involvement and ownership! They drove this as their own and with so much passion. I think the founder's direct involvement in the project has a huge impact on the creative outcome and also on the overall experience
Are there any areas for improvement?
I am pretty happy with our association.
