I’m the CEO of Client.io.
What challenge were you trying to address with Tribe47?
We hired Tribe47 to define a sales and marketing strategy for our workflow and automation product.
We’re a tech startup with less in-house experience in digital marketing and advertising.
What was the scope of their involvement?
We needed help to develop our marketing and sales funnels, creating content, and running our campaigns.
They’ve also helped us design and implement a new website for our product to raise awareness of it online and through social media.
What is the team composition?
I’ve worked with seven or eight people throughout the engagement, but we’ve mainly worked with four or five of them, including a project manager, a digital content producer, and a person who runs social media campaigns. We’ve also worked with the CEO from time to time.
How did you come to work with Tribe47?
We’ve worked with other digital marketers before, but we wanted to try something new. This area is very competitive, and there’s a lot of companies to choose from.
We received a recommendation from our partner company who had previous experience with Tribe47. We decided to contact them. After multiple calls and brainstorming sessions, it was clear that they were a true expert in their field.

We’ve invested around $50,000–$60,000 so far.
What is the status of this engagement?
We started working with their team in May 2020. We recently renewed our contract with them for the next few months.
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
Their work has had a positive impact on our business. We have a couple of metrics – one of them is the number of marketing leads, and another is the actual sales leads. We’re interested in getting people that we can showcase our product too. Outside of that, we have other goals that are less measurable, like scaling up our contacts on social media.
Their team has guided us throughout the engagement. They’ve helped us define our sales and marketing funnels, formalizing that entire process.
How did Tribe47 perform from a project management standpoint?
We have weekly review meetings, but we schedule a call with them whenever there is a need. We’re also in constant communication with them through Slack. We have a project management tool to manage tasks.
What did you find most impressive about them?
I really like their proactivity. Their team pushes us to deliver, which I appreciate. That hasn’t been a standard with others we’ve worked with.
The second thing is their skillset. Their team truly knows what they’re doing. Their expertise in B2B marketing and sales is crucial. They’ve also held workshops to get our team to have more knowledge in those areas.
Are there any areas they could improve?
There has been quite some work for us on our side. For example, we’re producing content for blog posts, and their team provides a proofreader. But, it was still a lot of work for us. This should improve in the next few weeks because they hired a technical copywriter to produce content more effectively.
Do you have any advice for potential customers?
Work proactively with them. For example, I really enjoy the workshops they put together. If you don’t understand something, just ask them. They’re happy to help.

I'm the Digital Marketing Director for The Tapping Solution, providing digital products and an app surrounding Tapping Meditations. We are a small yet highly impactful company, with over 3 million total plays of our 250+ meditations within the app and ~30 full-time employees. I oversee our digital strategy alongside our CMO, including managing all external marketing vendors and often building funnels internally.
For what projects/services did your company hire Tribe47?
As a small team with dozens of products to promote (and an app skyrocketing in sales since launching 2 yrs ago), we were simply spread too thin to scale as fast as we'd like.
We hired Tribe47 to analyze and evaluate any & all major gaps in our current digital umbrella of tactics, from improving our blog's SEO to performance marketing within our social ad campaigns. We essentially needed a full-service agency to take a deep dive into the "bigger picture" of our entire offering, to thus automate our sales pipelines more efficiently.
What were your goals for this project?
Long-term goal is to simply increase sales! We aim to double our sales and annual subscriptions to our mobile app in working with Tribe47. For this initial strategy session, outcomes aren't tangible but rather set the stage for all assets needed to catalyze those efforts and arrive at future measurability.
Strategy goals are to get aligned with their team and ours on everything we have and how each outlet/platform can be improved in full tactical detail (creative, copywriting, etc.)
How did you select Tribe47?
We knew we wanted to work with an agency with specific experience in our field of personal development and mental wellness, and online education/transformation.
We knew Tribe47's leadership had impressive tenure with both companies and partners we admire (Mindvalley), so the list of competitors was slim - we weren't exactly shopping around and had the connection with the correct niche. This was what was the most important factor in the decision; knowing their track record of achieving the exact results within our exact industry that we seek.
We felt confident in our mutually beneficial partnership and felt a cultural fit upon interviewing the team. The three co-owners of our company were the decision-making team internally.
Describe the scope of their work in detail.
We had a discovery meeting with Tribe47 to discuss our goals and our brand. The team focused on understanding how we’ve traditionally marketed for the past decade; our current digital assets, including how our many funnels are managed; internal team roles and capacities; and digital project management tools.
They then built creative briefs across a variety of our evergreen campaigns for us to implement, and were very diligent from the project management side of things in ensuring we never dropped the ball. They assimilated to our own internal systems to create efficient process flow.
Specific campaign briefs included an evergreen Tripwire campaign for our app; evergreen campaign for an online community called our "Tapping Insiders' Club"; and social advertising campaign briefs for digital challenges we plan to run in both timely and evergreen formats.
What was the team composition?
Both of our teams are large! (Which makes our ability to effectively operate together all the more impressive.) Tribe47 made this very organized with project navigation documents describing team roles.

Since we're in the strategy stage, we don't have any metrics to illustrate Tribe47's performance just yet. We definitely noted that new ad creative has been well-received by our specific demographic for the brief social campaigns they recently helped us to optimize.
How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?
Extremely effective! Our project manager is quite timely in keeping myself and my team on track for deadlines, via both Slack and Monday.com, our project management platform.
We have particularly appreciated the daily, thorough updates for real-time social media campaign data, which always include solutions following any problem/issue reports they run. This was definitely missing with our last agency. Google Suite, Google Docs and Spreadsheets have kept our teams efficient to leave comments in real time as well.
What did you find most impressive about this company?
From my own personal experiences over the years with marketing agencies, this has been a particularly positive and collaborative experience. Their attention to detail is impeccable and alertness to "all the balls juggling in the air" is more apparent. They are easy to work with and can pivot on a dime.
Are there any areas for improvement?
Aligning priorities can often be hectic with three owners pulled in many different directions and their employees (me!) managing those expectations between team and vendor - the only thing we'll continue to be aware of is ensuring both sides feel confident about the ranking of priorities and their respective timelines. There is nothing inherently bad about having so many moving parts!

Our CEO met their CEO through an event. Once they got to talking about marketing, our CEO liked what they had to say. After we viewed their business proposal, we decided to test it out for a campaign. That campaign ended up going very well, so we continued working with them.

What challenge were you trying to address with Tribe47?
MC: We needed someone to do our Facebook advertising. The main goal was to achieve higher ranks and scale our performance.
What was the scope of their involvement?
MC: They do our Facebook advertising. We also worked on the segmentation of our account as well as our analytics. In the beginning, they helped with the account segmentation by creating some documents which enabled us to improve our analytics. We had a weekly consulting session where we would learn from them.

MC: There were four people. At the very beginning, there was a fifth person.

SM: We considered another company. MC: The goal was to be at the level of 16 and we reached the level of 18. We also reached the goal of segmentation. We were audited by Facebook this week, and we’ve optimized our accounts to almost 90%. We have the best-optimized account. We’ve reached the goal of getting the know-how and knowledge transfer. We’re very pleased with all the sessions that we had.

MC: The cooperation went really well. The project management was really one of the best parts. The project manager was great. I can’t say a bad word about her. It was one of the best experiences we’ve had so far with an agency. They’re a team of highly skilled and engaged professionals. We were treated like partners and we could treat them as partners.
