Introduce your business and what you do there.
I’m an executive at a meat production company.
What challenge were you trying to address with Transimex?
We needed help with food delivery. We only had one leading supplier, and we decided we should have more.
What was the scope of their involvement?
Transimex delivers to our department store with our temperature-controlled product; this includes fresh meat, chicken, and sausage. They also have warehouse operations as well for frozen products.
We manufacture in our plant, and then we transfer the finished product to their warehouse. They import frozen products, keep them within their warehouse, and then outbound to the customer.
For frozen products, there’s a special requirement for the temperature control trucking and temperature control report. For the food product, we have specific requirements too with First-in First out (FIFO). They deliver 20 tons per day to our stores.
What is the team composition?
About 40 people from their team are working on our project, but the operations manager is my main point of contact.
How did you come to work with Transimex?
We found them through online research. After reaching out to them, our procurement team worked with them on setting up the contract.
What is the status of this engagement?
We started working together in January 2019, and the engagement is ongoing.
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
Since we hired them, our volume has increased by 30%, and handle the inventory well and do an outstanding job with our operations; they achieve the KPIs 100% and have an excellent relationship with us. Overall, they're an exceptional supplier with good value for money, and we haven't had any problems with them.
How did Transimex perform from a project management standpoint?
We have daily emails and a weekly meeting, which enables them to deliver on time. They also have a team to monitor and report any time they have any issue with the delivery, and the problems are brought to us very quickly, which we appreciate.
What did you find most impressive about them?
The most impressive thing about them is the team’s enthusiasm; whenever we have a new requirement, they try to meet our needs and give the solution.
Are there any areas they could improve?
They need more systems to support their teammates because now they are doing manual labor.
Do you have any advice for potential customers?
Hire them and give them specific requirements. They have competitive prices and are willing to support their customers from the beginning.
