Rebuilt Magento 2 eCommerce website on Hyva theme including some customizations. Scope included rebuilding the homepage, two category page layouts, product pages, and cart. After deployment, made further enhancements to improve Good Pagespeed Insights speed scores.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

What were the measurable outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

• Mobile speed became about 3x faster, desktop became about 2x faster.
• GPSI mobile score went from 15 to usually at least 65+, sometimes 90+.
• In our highest sales month (November), customers were 6.3% more likely to checkout on mobile instead of switching over to desktop to complete their purchase 
• Conversion rate improved by 0.76% for the month, though some of this can be attributed to fewer mobile users being double-counted due to switching to desktop.
• Ahrefs domain authority score jumped from 48 to 57.
• Our organizations goal for the year was 5% sales growth. The Hyva transition happened didn't happen until Q4, but it did help seal the deal on meeting our goal.

The agency assigned us three different project managers throughout the 9-month project. All were effective, but the transitions did lead to some details getting lost in the shuffle. The work was always timely and within the scope originally outlined in detail. The project cost fell at the top end of estimates largely due to our website's extensive custom features.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

I always felt they were focused on our success. They are the speed enhancement experts, no question, and did everything possible in leaving no stone unturned.

Are there any areas for improvement or something Transform Agency could have done differently?

Some of the working dynamics we originally discussed before signing the contract didn't happen as planned.

• I wanted to be more directly involved in Jira communications instead of email, but presumably there was a good reason why this didn't pan out.
• I wanted our developer to work on certain parts of the site at the same time, but this didn't turn out to be realistic since his work needed to build on theirs and it was ineffecient for them to not be developing on their own staging site.
• I was seeking a "go live" of late June/July instead of September, but this didn't work out since there were extensive customizations that we still required after the original scope of work was complete.
• I was in the position of having to balance the pressure to "just rebuild on Hyva defaults" since the agency was focused on attaining the best speed possible, but the reality is the business owner required virtually all site customizations to be rebuilt at well.

It was ultimately all OK as we were fully committed to making this transition happen, and it was successful, but yeah—there were absoultely some ups and downs.

After reviewing a large number of potential development services and having calls with a shortlist of around 5 we chose this vendor for their flexibility and our site already using a number of their extensions.

We're still in the early stages of the relationship but they have already set about onboarding us into their development team and getting deployments of Magento 2 onto our development environment. The initial objective is to get the site up and running on development environments and then continue to work through a number of issues before deploying the site to live and then continuing with an improvement program to many areas of the site.

No measurable outcomes as yet, we are still working on getting the first production deployment ready.

Project management style seems relaxed with the use of emails, Trello and Slack for communication and task management.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

The team is responsive to communications and ask questions when they are not sure of anything which is always reassuring. They show great enthusiasm, which is always appreciated.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

I genuinely think that a better task management tool than Trello could be utilized.

We are trying to enhance our website to enable our work application to support two websites instead of just one. We needed help to build a new Magento website

What was the scope of their involvement?

Transform Agency is helping us do the development work on our site. We built our website based on an e-commerce framework for Magento, written with PHP, and we're trying to customize it for our retail customers.

They did not build the website from scratch; they're doing an upgrade where I provided the requirements of the task, the code base repository, and some sample databases.

I work with one project manager, one customer service representative, and 3–4 developers.

I found them through an organic search and saw them doing a lot of work on Magento.

We've spent less than $10,000 with them so far.

We started the engagement in September 2021, and it's still ongoing.

They submit development work, and I will test them to see if the requirements are met. After I try it, I pass it to the end user to make ad hoc iterations.

Overall, they get tasks done within a reasonable time.

They're doing well with project management, but there could be an improvement in their response time. Regarding tools, we mostly use email.

What did you find most impressive about them?

Even though we only communicate via email, they deliver according to our expectations.

They could respond more frequently and keep me updated on the progress of the task because sometimes I'm unsure if they have received and understood the requirements.

Keep track of the communication, and be clear with that.

We were able to accomplish the time to market and quality product in a 100%

The project was a waterfall project, we get issues in a Kansan board, we discussed about the issues before the developers started to work with them, in order to get everything clear. When everything was clear we were able to access to the board each time to know the status of each issue.

They have great communication skills, and when we have had issues in our deadline with final product and customer, they were 100% available and working with compromise, really hard, in order to help us to achieve our goals.
