Soglasie - a mobile app for the insurance company Image

Soglasie - a mobile app for the insurance company

Soglasie is one of the largest insurance companies in Russia. Over the last 27 years, it has insured 10 million cars. The company released the Soglasie app in order to create an additional sales channel and increase user loyalty. In 2019, we were tasked with updating it.

The insurance market changes rapidly with new services and solutions appearing all the time. It is our job to ensure that

the Soglasie app continues to meet customer needs. In our first year working on the app, we introduced a number of useful features. We closely monitor user feedback and take their expectations into account.
Cifra - an accounting app for companies Image

Cifra - an accounting app for companies

In March 2020, VTB Bank launched its Cifra service, a mobile assistant for small and medium-sized businesses. We worked on programming apps for Android and iOS, and developed the back-end. With Cifra, users can do all their accounting on their phone: calculate tax payments, insurance premiums, check transactions, draw up declarations, and quickly generate reports for the Federal Tax Service. It is also possible to pay

tax bills and contributions directly in the app. Should anything go wrong, we added an online chat consultation function.

We started work on the project in 2019 when we released the basic version. Since then, we have continued to improve its functionality.

The Ural Bank for Reconstruction and Development - a mobile app for the bank’s customers Image

The Ural Bank for Reconstruction and Development - a mobile app for the bank’s customers

The Ural Bank for Reconstruction and Development (UBRD) is in the top 30 largest and top 100 most reliable banks in Russia. UBRD already had an application before hiring us. The old version had limited functionality and an impractical interface meaning clients only made limited use of the bank's services and hence simply withdrew money. Our task was to launch a completely reworked app that would be tailored to

standard banking transactions and also promote priority products. Alongside that, we had to develop the tech platform: to lay the groundwork for future development and help to build up the practice of mobile development in the bank.

The first version was released within six months with all the basic required features. This meant we could immediately start collecting feedback from users, which we then used to update the app. We made UBRD simple and user-friendly. All the functions that users requested can now be performed in a couple of taps: from paying bills by QR code to calculating the rate of return when opening deposits.

Movista - a travel planning and ticket purchasing service Image

Movista - a travel planning and ticket purchasing service

Ideally, travel should be carefree and easy, but this can get bogged down in all the planning, the long, detailed organization of a trip, and the feeling of responsibility for your friends and family. Movista and Touch Instinct’s aim was to streamline travel planning and make it as smooth and simple as possible. We designed and developed the website and mobile app for iOS and Android.

Movista

is an entirely new and unique product on the Russian market. No one has ever created a single service that offers both complex route planning (involving planes, trains, and buses) and ticket purchasing.
Privet Mir - a mobile app for the payment system’s loyalty program Image

Privet Mir - a mobile app for the payment system’s loyalty program

Since 2015, the National Payment Card System has issued 76 million cards and its Privyet Mir! app. With the app, users can join a loyalty program, which allows them to make purchases at discounted rates, get cashback, and get updates about offers from partner companies. The first version of the Mir app was worked on by a different company, and Touch Instinct was involved in development and support. Our team

established that the app could be much more user-friendly, so we proposed a redesign concept.

We started by conducting a large-scale study to determine what the ideal Mir app should look like and then created a new design that met all the functionality requirements. It was simple and straightforward with uncluttered color coding, stylized icons, and calm tones, which makes it easier to search for information and doesn’t distract from the content.

We introduced a modular structure to the app. Now, new features can be added quickly and easily without having to make changes to the app’s navigation. Therefore, users don’t have to get used to a new Mir app after each release.

MegaFon - a banking app for the mobile operator’s customers Image

MegaFon - a banking app for the mobile operator’s customers

In 2016, MegaFon, the number one telecom operator in Russia, launched its own banking service. We were tasked with developing a mobile personal account that enables users to manage their bank cards on their smartphone. The app allows users to track their family members’ balances, take out loans, and carry out payments and transfers. They can also create transaction templates for ease of use. It also contains a

nice bonus: a loyalty program, and information about offers and discounts from partner chains.
LUKOIL - a mobile app for the oil company’s loyalty program Image

LUKOIL - a mobile app for the oil company’s loyalty program

In 2018, we were tasked with relaunching the mobile app for Lukoil gas station customers. We developed a major update for 13 million mobile users  — a new loyalty program, which required a complete overhaul of the architecture and design.

The new version has five levels: the higher a user’s level, the more points they earn from purchases. Users progress to the next level by buying fuel and

other goods at Lukoil gas stations. Achievements are clearly displayed on progress bars. To ensure that users enjoyed a smooth transition to the new app, we added a rules section, introduced a hints and tips system, and gamified the new program. We oversaw the work on both the client-side of the application as well as the server-side: we worked with databases, improved the admin panel for company employees, and conducted user behavior analytics.
Bank Saint Petersburg - a banking app for corporate clients Image

Bank Saint Petersburg - a banking app for corporate clients

In 2018, Bank Saint Petersburg tasked us with creating a mobile banking app for business. We worked together for two years: collecting regular user feedback, fixing problems, and adding new features. To help the bank become fully digital, we transferred our processes and solutions to the client and helped them hire and train new developers. Now Bank Saint Petersburg has a high-quality app and a team of its own.

The app contains the most in-demand online banking functions. Users can view their account balance, reserved amounts, bank details, and generate statements.

It is gratifying when your work is appreciated by the client and users, but even more so when it is highly rated by industry experts. Under our management, the app won several prestigious awards in industry competitions.

Domino's Pizza Image

Domino's Pizza

Domino's Pizza is an international fast food restaurant chain. The company was found in 1960 in the USA and today it has locations in 70 countries. Domino's Pizza delivers over 1 000 000 pizzas daily. Domino’s already had an app, but users had difficulties navigating it and placing orders. Moreover, the app crashed occasionally which was also not encouraging. We were entrusted to make users happier and design and develop

user-friendly apps for iOS and Android.

Release was scheduled 3 months after the project kick-off. During that time we had to finalize and approve navigational scheme and design and develop apps for two platforms. We were doing our best to meet deadlines and client’s demands.

After sleepless nights with bags under the eyes but pleased with ourselves we met the deadline.

Partia edi Image

Partia edi

Food party is a service that delivers recipes and ingredients straight to your doorstep. You get a box with fresh ingredients and step-by-step photo recipes. More than half of the clients are subscribed to the service and get meal boxes on a weekly basis.

The company has a nice and user-friendly website where you can check a menu for several weeks in advance, subscribe for meals delivery, manage your orders and rate

recipes and couriers.

Since 65% of the clients use their mobile devices to access the service, it was decided to develop mobile apps for iOS and Android. The main goal was to make the service more convenient in use. We were entrusted to design an interface and develop an app.

Boom Image

Boom

Now you have all music from the network on your iPhone. All music in the app is licensed and posted with permission of the copyright holders. The client company has created the app design. We have made it work correctly and fast even on the slow and older devices.

The developers team has spent a lot of time reconciling length, frequency and see-through capability of visual effects. They were constantly checking up on

the details and peculiarities and thinking over diferrent animation schemes. The app visual effects are not annoying and create a good impression of the product. Touch Instinct team has created page turning animation for switching between screens and wavy animation for parking pages.

You can listen to music both in online and offline modes. The track you are listening to and the next track in the playlist are automatically cached.

Tutu.ru Image

Tutu.ru

Tutu.ru decided to develop an app that would make buying air tickets easier. We were entrusted with creating design and developing iOS and Android app versions.

We considered it important to put ticket tariff options on the search screen. Now you can see straight away if a ticket is refundable in case of no-show cancellation or if you have to pay for extra baggage. Users no longer have to waste their time looking for

this information.

Specify desired departure/arrival time, airport or airlines. The last option is useful if you are participating in frequent-flyer programs and collecting miles. The app will find the best options for you.

Flight details are always at your fingertips. You can check whether or not a flight is direct and see flight transfer time. If it’s a night flight or a fuel stop is planned, the app will inform you. Just click on “Orders” tab for quick access to your tickets.

Guilds League of Legends Image

Guilds League of Legends

League of Legends is one of the most popular multiplayer online games. It combines role-playing and real-time strategy elements. LoL currently has 67 million monthly active subscribers. It’s grown ten times larger than World of Warcraft.

We’ve produced iPhone and Android applications and a web-site. Students use apps to unite in guilds within their universities. They monitor guilds' progress, compete and receive

rewards. This project is intended to raise students’ interest in collaboration.

A student logs in to Vkontakte website through the application. He can join one of the university guilds from the list. He can also create his own guild and invite his friends to join it.

Guild members communicate in chat rooms. Here they can discuss tactical plans and other game aspects. It helps to build a winning team spirit. Players can monitor changes in team members list, users’ statuses and battle outcomes.

Squawk Aha Image

Squawk Aha

The client wanted to create a platform to make market research easier. We’ve helped to develop and launch Squawk Aha. It’s a professional mobile application made for market research companies and online panels. The app users are the people who participate in different surveys. Respondents get financial and non-financial rewards for their participation. Rewards motivate them to take all the surveys seriously and

provide market research companies with information they need.

We’ve developed Squawk Aha app platform for conducting market surveys and sales promotions. The app allows to:

1. push respondents personal notifications and links to web surveys;

2. track time spent in different shops;

3. aggregate data on respondents’ activity and motion — the app can spot respondents’ location and wi-fi access points they use;

4. unload respondents’ profiles for further analysis.

Matryoshka Radio London Image

Matryoshka Radio London

For the app's first version we have developed four types of entertainment blocks: photo-tasks, audio-hellos, quizzes and votings. Radio DJs look through the blocks content and then it goes on the air.

Our client asked us to develop an online interactive radio app. During the very first meeting Touch Instinct together with the client refined the app concept. We proposed that broadcasting should go with interactive

panels. People can use them to interact with the radio station editors. These panels should be standard (in order to cut the cost of future developments) and not annoying. They are to go with the main app feature - online audio player.

For the app first version we have developed four types of enterntainment blocks: photo-tasks, audio-hellos, quizzes and votings. Radio DJs look through the blocks content and then it goes on the air. You don’t have to participate in these entertainment activities, you can just listen to music.

Every music track goes with an album cover on the background. We’ve designed a simple and clear interface with no information noise. The app screen displays only essential information - the name of the artist and the title of the song.

Coin Keeper Image

Coin Keeper

The customer came to us with a specific goal: to create a visual fun and easy application for finance tracking. Together we thought through and developed Coin Keeper.

Application looks like a big coin holder. Incomes, wallets and user's spendings are represented as a piles of coins. Simple drag-and-drop is needed to write down, for example, salary income or gas purchase.

Finance tracking is made for statistics.

We prepared three types of reports: daily bills, monthly incomes and expenses, detailed report of expenses by categories.

Chaos-control Image

Chaos-control

haos Control is a task manager made by Tarasov Mobile. It is available across all major mobile platforms. We’ve designed applications for the Apple Watch and Samsung Gear 2. These apps connect to devices with major iOS and Android versions.

With Chaos Control, once you sync your Apple Watch to a smartphone, you can check planned tasks on the wrist-worn device. Just keep the phone in a pocket.

Trava.ru Image

Trava.ru

The User Interface of the iPhone app corresponds

to the iOs Human Interface Guidelines and the UI of the Android app corresponds to Android Design. So navigation and design are comfortable for users of both platforms.

A user can download music to a smartphone and listen to it when he has no access to the internet or a bad connection.

Music is organized by tracks and albums. Users can make playlists from tracks. Users can download one song, a whole album or a playlist to a smartphone in one tap.

Stream Image

Stream

iOS, Android, Windows Phone applications for viewing licensed films in HD quality of on-line cinema Stream.ru on smart phones and tablets.

We have been constantly developing Stream apps since 2011. We released first iPad app version in two weeks from a scratch. It broadcasted only free movies. We were constantly increasing app functionality, exploring the movie selling business and embracing new platforms. In 2013 we

launched final app versions.
MegaFon-Bank Image

MegaFon-Bank

In 2016 Megafon launched its own banking service. We were entrusted with creating online mobile application which would enable users to manage their finances using smartphones. We’ve developed iOs, Android and Windows app versions and a desktop site.

The app features 2-step identity confirmation. Firstly, you log in to the mobile bank via TouchID or your passcode. Secondly, you verify your identity via SMS. All

personal data is encrypted and will be processed in a secure way.

The app provides detailed statistics of all user’s transactions. It will graphically demostrate how your money was spent.

With the help of the app you can check balances of your loved ones and make payments and transfers. For your convenience, the app provides opportunity of creating transfer and payment templates. For example, you can automatically pay your monthly utility or mobile bills. And as a nice bonus, there is also a loyalty program for users. You will be informed about all promotions and discounts of Megafon partner companies.

We’ve also developed support chat room. You can attach to you messages any images including screenshots of your transactions. Now there is no need in painfully long explanations of your problem, just sent an image.

MacroCRM Image

Implementing CallKit technology with elegance and taste.

The client practices investments and real estate sales. We’ve designed and developed an iOS mobile app which helps automating employees work.

You can get bored to death when adding new contacts to your phone. A client database includes contact data for 50 000 clients and employees. It’s almost impossible to write down or remember all this information - a

better decision is to use CallKit technology. In few seconds the system identifies the caller by their telephone number.
Sindbad Image

Sindbad

Since 1995 people have been using Sindbad for searching and booking flights of leading Russian and international airlines. We have re-designed Sindbad apps for iPad and iPhone.

HealBe Image

HealBe

Healbe GoBe™ is the first digital device in the world that can track your calorie intake and hydration level. Also, Healbe tracks your physical activity and sends the statistics to your smartphone. The client company has created the app design, and we’ve helped with iOS app development.

The bracelet tracks your physical activity and automatically counts calorie intake and expenditure. The device also notifies you when

it’s time to drink water. One of the most useful features is a smart alarm clock. Healbe wakes you up during REM (rapid eye movement) sleep. It helps you feel better in the morning and stay active throughout the day.

The GoBe device is based on the Healbe FLOW™ Technology. It measures calorie intake and hydration level through your skin. Let’s see how it works. The GoBe device tracks pressure of the body tissues to measure fluid-flow rate between cells and pericellular spaces. Based on a glucose curve, it counts calorie intake.

Meduza Image

A user aplplies an SMS verification code and launches the app. Now he can add friends to his contact list and send them wayds.

One tap on a friend icon sends him a wayd. One tap on the logo at the top sends wayds to all friends from a user’s contact list. A user has 10 minutes

to send a response to the wayd he received.

In response to a wayd user gets a photo with a description and friend’s location on the map.

There are call and chat buttons on each photo. Users can call each other or use iMessage to chat.

It’s the first app release. Our team is currently working on the project. We are constantly asking users for a feedback, improving the interface and adding new features. The app upgrades are coming!

Wild Apricot Image

Wild Apricot

iOS, Android applications for management of organization members and events from a smart phone. The application for a Canadian software company Wild Apricot.

Mobile devices didn’t provide means for effective use of this product. We’ve solved this problem by producing an iPhone app. Now organization administrators can manage membership through their smartphones.

A manager can add new organization members to the

contact list. He specifies membership levels and fees. All contacts are arranged into groups according to membership levels.

You can access unified contact database both through the website and the app.

An event administrator adds event members and confirms registrants. He specifies their registration types and keeps track of payment balance.

Event administrators can add some information about event members in their profiles. Administrators can specify members’ meal choice, clothing size or number of member’s guests.

BACKGROUND

Please describe your organization.

We are an IT [information technology] services company. We have a few startup projects including mobile applications and website projects.

What is your position?

I'm the founder of the company.

OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE

What business challenge were you trying to address with Touch Instinct?

I had certain mobile applications that I needed developed with set features, set budgets, and set time frames. We were looking to grow the user base of those apps as much as possible. I approached Touch Instinct to develop the apps.

SOLUTION

Please describe the scope of their involvement in detail.

One of the projects is an iOS social app. I approached Touch Instinct with the concept of the app. They listened to all my input, prototyped it, and then worked with me to make any necessary adjustments to the prototype. Touch Instinct then developed the app taking my input and feedback into account. Once we had finalized the app, the Touch Instinct team gave me advice on how to market the app. They helped me develop and execute a marketing strategy for Facebook, Google Ads, and other social media channels. We went through a similar process for other apps that I developed with them.

How did you come to work with Touch Instinct?

I did some online research and interviewed 10 app development studios. I was looking for a long-term partner because I looking to have one company develop various projects. I wanted to have an assigned project manager from the development company that would be responsible for all of my projects. Touch Instinct seemed to have the most resources, a lot of experience, and they a great person within the company that could work with me.

I'd give them top points. Their work is great, and we get along very well. Touch Instinct does even more than we agreed upon initially. They always help us with marketing and give us great advice. A Clutch analyst personally interviewed this client over the phone. Below is an edited transcript.

BACKGROUND

Please describe your organization.

Our company is Wild Apricot. We develop sales and support cloud-based software for nonprofit and small membership organizations. We manage membership websites, events and financial information for administrators who run co-ops.

What is your role and responsibilities?

I am the CTO of the company.

OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE

What was your goal for working with Touch Instinct?

We wanted to build mobile applications (iOS and Android). They are mobile apps for special use cases. We didn't have mobile development experience, so we decided to outsource the development to an experienced company. Touch Instinct developed the mobile apps for eight use cases.

SOLUTION

Please describe the scope of their work.

We prepared use case stories, illustrating the concept and the designs that we wanted. Touch Instinct developed the apps and helped us to finalize our ideas about UI [user interface]. During later stages of the project we involved our QA [quality assurance] team to make sure the apps were up to our standards. The last step of the process was to publish the apps on the store and Touch Instinct did analytic research for that. They helped us launch the application in the App Store and in the Google Play store.

Can you give a sense of the size of the initiative?

We worked together for one and a half years. We had two or three developers and one project manager from Touch Instinct. That team was assigned to our project full time. The cost of the project is confidential.

When was the work completed?

The Android app was completed in April 2015. The iOS one was finished at the end of 2014.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

Do you have any statistics or metrics on the project?

Roughly 30 percent of our clients already use the mobile application. User feedback has been very positive. We have a big road map of ideas from our clients about how to improve the next version.

Are you satisfied with their performance?

There were some issues but, in the end, we received a mobile application that we were proud to sell and promote to our users. The application does what we want it to do. There are no restrictions, and the whole scope was implemented in time.

Is there anything unique or special about Touch Instinct?

They're very flexible, and they communicate very well. We were always in contact with their management team. Touch Instinct always found comfortable solutions for any changes that we requested.

Is there any area that you think they could improve upon?

There are some areas for improvement. I would have liked to have a project management report. It was hard to understand what was going on sometimes.

A Clutch analyst personally interviewed this client over the phone. Below is an edited transcript.

BACKGROUND

Please describe your organization.

Our company is TigerMilk. We're a creative agency. Most of our work revolves around creating content for social media channels.

What is your role and responsibilities?

I'm the head of our mobile department. I'm in charge of all of our mobile projects.

OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE

What was your goal for working with Touch Instinct?

We wanted to build "S-presso," an app that would aggregate content from VK, a Russian social network, and Facebook's public community pages. We wanted to allow users to choose topics that interest them and have the app create a personal feed for them with content related to those topics. Users can get content directly from the app, without going to their social profiles. It's like a mobile social magazine. We knew that it would be difficult to pull content from social media to a mobile app, so we needed a good developer.

Please describe the scope of their work.

The Touch Instinct team did all the work for our iOS app from back-end to front-end development. We presented the concept to them, and they developed it from there. Because the app is a social media content aggregator, they had to integrate social networks into the app itself. Users can also engage with the content, meaning "like" or "favorite" a post, directly on the app. So, Touch Instinct also created functionalities that allowed for users to do that.

SOLUTION

What was your process for selecting Touch Instinct?

We tried to find a company that had experience working with solutions for different social models and fit our budget. We did research and found 10 to 15 companies. We created a short list of companies that had a good portfolio in mobile projects and could do the project in the time we needed and the budget we needed. Touch Instinct had the best portfolio we found and really understood the concept of the app we wanted to develop. We chose them for those reasons.

Can you give a sense of the size of the initiative?

The size of the project was more than $100,000.

When was the work completed?

We started our partnership with Touch Instinct in late 2014-early 2015. We have partnered with them for various projects. Our partnership is still ongoing.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

Do you have any statistics or metrics on the project?

We are very happy with this project. The app has 10,000 daily users. We have great reviews in the App Store. We have a five-star rating, so we couldn't be happier in terms of customer satisfaction. That app has more than 60,000 downloads and that number in constantly growing. It's a very successful project.

Are you satisfied with their performance?

We are very satisfied with Touch Instinct. They did a really good job. Any time that we had issues in the development process, they reacted very quickly and fixed any problems we had. Their design and art for this app was great, too.

Is there anything unique or special about Touch Instinct that really makes them stand out?

Touch Instinct is very attentive, and they react quickly to any demands that we have. That's why our partnership is so good. They are also very versatile in terms of what kinds of app they can develop. Touch Instinct can do any app out there. They are incredibly skilled.

Looking back on the work so far, is there any area that you think they could improve upon or that you might do differently?

There's nothing we would change about the project. It exceeded our expectations.

BACKGROUND

Could you please describe your company.

Our company is Svyaznoy, one of Russia's largest independent handset retailers. We also offer a mobile phone service based on a virtual network operator.

What is the role that you play there?

I'm a project manager. I oversee all the processes relating to the development, publication, and promotion of mobile applications in our company.

OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE

What was the business challenge that you were trying to address when you approached Touch Instinct?

We wanted to make it more convenient for our clients to access their personal mobile accounts. We decided that creating a mobile app would be a great way to allow our clients to manage their accounts.

Please describe the scope of the project?

We developed an application that allows our subscribers to manage their accounts and bonus programs on their phones. This app allows our apps to access all of their account information, and pay their phone bills using their mobile phones. We developed and iPhone app as well as an Android app, to reach as many subscribers as possible.

SOLUTION

What was your process for selecting Touch Instinct?

We did some online research and short-listed 15 companies. We asked each one of those companies to give us a proposal for the project, including design ideas, front-end development structure, and API [application programming interface] development for the app. Touch Instinct's proposal was the best, so we chose them.

What were Touch Instinct's responsibilities for this project?

Touch Instinct was in charge of end-to-end development of both the iOS and the Android apps. They designed, developed and tested the apps. They were also responsible for the development of all of the API necessary for the app and for integrations within our existing internal systems. They built the app using Xamarin.

Can you give us a sense of the size of the project?

The budget for this project is confidential.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

Do you have any metrics or results from the project?

We got great feedback from our users. Most of our customers have downloaded it and use it to manage their accounts. We are very happy with the project.

Is there anything unique or special about Touch Instinct that really makes them stand out?

The Touch Instinct team is always extremely fast to respond when we wanted to make changes to the app. Communication between us is great as well. We were always on the same page, and they understood our concept right away, which made this project very easy from our end. The Touch Instinct team is extremely professional. Their design and programming skills are exceptional.

Looking back on the project, is there any area that they could improve upon or that you would do differently?

No. I really can't think of anything. Working with Touch Instinct has been a great experience.

BACKGROUND

Please describe your organization.

Our company is a telecommunications company.

What is your role and responsibilities?

I'm a product manager.

OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE

What was your goal for working with Touch Instinct?

We were looking to build a media portal for one of three largest mobile carriers in Russia. We wanted to create an app that would allow its users to a large music library, whether they are online or offline.

Please describe the scope of their work.

Touch Instinct developed three apps for this project: an iPhone app, iPad app, an Android app. Touch Instinct was responsible for front-end development of the apps. We developed the back-end, concept and user experience for the apps.

SOLUTION

What was your process for selecting Touch Instinct?

We had partnered with other app developers for other projects, but we needed this project to be very high caliber. We needed a top developer. We look at the portfolios of various development agencies, and Touch Instinct's portfolio really impressed us.

Can you give a sense of the size of the initiative?

The size of the project was in the $50,000 to $200,000 range.

When was the work completed?

We've been working with them for three years [as of summer 2015]. We have partnered with them on another project. This first one was completed last summer. Our partnership is ongoing.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

Do you have any statistics or metrics on the project?

The most important thing for us was to build the app and launch it quickly to be available for users, and Touch Instinct did that for us. The app has great user feedback as well. We are very happy with the project.

Are you satisfied with their performance?

Touch Instinct is a great company. We keep coming back to them when we need a developer. We couldn't be happier.

Is there anything unique or special about Touch Instinct that really makes them stand out?

Touch Instinct is a top-notch development agency. They did a lot of great work for us in a short amount of time. They are ready to work very hard and be flexible with us, if our requirements change.

Looking back on the work so far, is there any area that you think they could improve upon or that you might do differently?

When you're working with an outsource developer, you're not always satisfied with terms and with time that they need to create the results. We are learning to adapt to that. Each project we do with them is better than previous.

What advice would you give to future clients of theirs?

You need to have things ready for any project. You will have problems with timing. That is something you need to accept, but the result will always be worth it with these guys.

A Clutch analyst personally interviewed this client over the phone. Below is an edited transcript.

BACKGROUND

Please describe your organization.

Our company is a video game publisher.

What is your role and responsibilities?

I am a community manager for the firm.

OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE

What was your goal for working with Touch Instinct?

We had developed an online game, and we wanted to make it more accessible to our audience. So, we decided to build a mobile application for our game. We wanted people to be able to access the game while they are on the go. We were specifically interested in targeting students and allowing them to create teams with their fellow students.

Please describe the scope of their work.

Touch Instinct developed an iOS and Android version of the game for us. We already had the concept for the app when we approached them, but we met with them, and they gave us a lot of suggestions on how to make the game better. Once we agreed on the best design, Touch Instinct developed the app and worked on the user experience as well.

SOLUTION

What was your process for selecting Touch Instinct?

We did some research and created a shortlist of twelve companies. We asked them to pitch us their ideas for the project. Touch Instinct won the pitch because they had the fastest response and had the deepest understanding of our game and our needs. Their budget was also very reasonable. They were the best choice by a mile.

Can you give a sense of the size of the initiative?

The size of the project was more than $50,000.

When was the work completed?

The original app has been completed, but our partnership is still very much ongoing. As our game evolves, we have to add new features to the mobile app version as well. So, we have a small team of developers that keeps our app up to date.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

Do you have any statistics or metrics on the project?

The app has done very well. We've gotten a lot of positive feedback from our users on the App Store. There were a few glitches at first, but we fixed them quickly. Our users were very pleased.

Are you satisfied with their performance?

I'm very satisfied with Touch Instinct's performance. I think that they did a great job.

Is there anything unique or special about Touch Instinct that really makes them stand out?

We are a player-focused company. The way we engage with our players is very important for us. We ask our players how we can make the game better for them. We try to understand what they need and what features need to be available. The Touch Instinct team really understood our concept and managed to develop all the features and functionalities that we wanted to integrate. They were very responsive and involved. We gave them a very tough deadline as well. They had less than two months to complete the app. We were very satisfied with their work.

Looking back on the work so far, is there any area that you think they could improve upon or that you might do differently?

Their office is far away from ours. We only met them once. It would be nice to meet personally when something urgent comes up. Still, they kept communication very open.

A Clutch analyst personally interviewed this client over the phone. Below is an edited transcript.

BACKGROUND

Please describe your organization.

Our company is Tarasov Mobile. We develop and sell mobile applications for Android and iOS. Our major project is called Chaos Control. It’s an app that helps users with task management, goal management, and project management based on best ideas of “Getting Things Done.”

What is your role and responsibilities?

I’m CEO of the company.

OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE

What was your goal for working with Touch Instinct?

We partnered with Touch Instinct to develop a new version of Chaos Control. We wanted to build a wearable version of our app. We built two, one for the Apple Watch and another for Samsung Gear 2. The app connects to the devices’ clock and allows users to see their tasks without checking their phone.

Please describe the scope of their work.

When we approached Touch Instinct, we already had the concept of the app. Touch Instinct was mainly in charge of app development, testing, and deployment. They collaborated with us on the design and look of the app as well.

SOLUTION

What was your process for selecting Touch Instinct with which to work?

We initially met the Touch Instinct team at a conference. We’ve been worked with Touch Instinct for multiple projects in the past six months.

Can you give a sense of the size of the initiative in dollar terms or a personnel work-hour figure?

The size of the project is less than $10,000.

When was the work completed?

Our partnership with Touch Instinct is ongoing. The first version of our wearable app is completed, but we are going to work with them in the future to keep the app up to date and potentially build a new version of it.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

Do you have any statistics or metrics to track improvement from the project?

No. We just launched the app, so we don’t have any yet. Touch Instinct did a good job on this project. I’m happy with their performance.

Is there anything unique or special about Touch Instinct that really makes them stand out compared to other business partners?

One thing that I really liked about the Touch Instinct team was their accessibility and flexibility with us. They are willing to work with us during nonbusiness hours and during the weekend if we need something from them. We had an issue with the App Store and realized that this was the case on a Friday night. We told them about the issue, and they worked with us right away to solve it. They’re great.

Looking back on the work so far, is there any area that you think they could improve upon or that you might do differently?

I always think that there is room for improvement. I wouldn’t say they’re ideal but, given the size of the project and the speed of development, I can’t think of anything that could have improved. Maybe if we’d worked on some larger project, I’d have more to share. They did a great job given the circumstances that we put them in.
