Introduce your business and what you do there.
I’m a hiring manager for an executive assistant position to the partners of a New York-based venture capital firm.
What challenge were you trying to address with Tiger Recruitment?
We were looking for top-tier elite recruits for the executive assistant position and enlisted their help.
What was the scope of their involvement?
They provided direct support in sourcing the recruits and discerning who would be best suited for the role. They reassessed our job description so that we could best attract the right candidates.
What is the team composition?
I’ve been working exclusively with one member of their team. I’ve also been referred to 2–3 members of their team for ancillary projects.
How did you come to work with Tiger Recruitment?
I’m going to be relocating to the UK. In the early stages of my search for my up-and-coming transition, I came across them as a candidate. I had a great experience engaging with them, so I decided to rely on their services for this project.
How much have you invested with them?
I believe that we're set to compensate them at the point of hire.
What is the status of this engagement?
We first engaged in May 2020 and it’s an ongoing project.
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
We’ve been very impressed with the quality of candidates that we’ve been provided. I recommended them to our firm as an alternative to the New York-based recruiters that we tend to default to. They brought us just as strong — if not stronger — candidates compared to the other local recruiters we’ve been working with.
We’re still engaged with other recruiting firms, but there hasn’t been any overlap. They’ve independently sourced exceptional candidates, which is also impressive.
How did Tiger Recruitment perform from a project management standpoint?
My point of contact has been an exceptional communicator. She regularly checks in with me and the other operations director that’s on this project. She’s extremely responsive and constantly feeding us opportunities to meet with different people. She collects feedback from both sides after our meetings to clarify her sense of what we’re looking for. It’s been an exceptional experience.
What did you find most impressive about them?
They’re incredibly confident in their ability to be hands-on in matching employers with recruits. They listen intently to feedback to zero in on what will make the difference. That informs how they curate their next batch of candidates that they bring forward. I’ve never had to repeat myself because of how detail-oriented and thoughtful they are. They’re clearly interested in fostering a long-term relationship, which I really appreciate.
Are there any areas they could improve?
They’re fairly new to the New York market. Once they’ve further established themselves in the US, they’ll have even a greater pool of people that they can pull from.
Do you have any advice for potential customers?
They can go above and beyond for you if you provide them a detailed description of what exactly you’re looking for.

How did you select Tiger Recruitment Ltd.?
They had good reviews online and were very straight forward and clear in what they could do for us. Very proactive afterwards in making sure we had everything we needed and the project was on track.
Describe the project in detail.
On short-term notice we had to source detailed information for more ~700 products from different brands that the client was supposed to provide themselves. This means we needed extra hands quickly, that could work structured and with minimal oversight.
Due to increased workload we wanted to speed up hiring. We needed help sifting through hundreds of CV to find profiles matching our requirements to speed up the process and screen candidates quicker.
What was the team composition?
We got 6 analysts to help us with the data capture and one of those doubled as an HR assistant.
Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?
Tiger moves very fast; we quickly had candidates coming over and within a week we had people helping out. They worked with minimal oversight and after initial project set up, they coordinated among themselves and completed all the work before we needed to deliver it and to a high standard.
How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?
Very easy, they're always easy to reach and have a no-nonsense approach to getting things done.
What did you find most impressive about this company?
The speed at which they got everything arranged was impressive. It went very fast with as little fuss as possible.
Are there any areas for improvement?
We had a communication snafu regarding the type of invoices, but that was resolved easily once pointed out.

What were your goals for this engagement?
We wanted to hire a temporary Marketing Assistant, Tiger was able to send a few great CVs promptly and we were able to hire this individual within one week.
How did you select Tiger Recruitment Ltd.?
Tiger has always sent us CVs that match our requirement and they have always been able to send these promptly. We have worked with Tiger even before I joined Purcell.
Describe the engagement in detail.
We were looking to hire a temporary worker/contracted staff via Tiger, this was a role Marketing Assistant role which we needed with a immediate start. I reached out to Tiger and they were able to send CVs which match our requirement and team fit, and able to turn this vacancy around very quickly.
What was the team composition?
We work closely with Cai Pike and Danielle Foster. Cai provides service for the permanent roles and Danielle works in the temporary division. They have both been great and approachable.
Can you share any outcomes from the engagement that demonstrate progress or success?
We originally hired the person as a temporary contract for 4 weeks, very shortly we changed her to a permanent contract and she is now still with us. This candidate exceeded our expectations.
How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?
I initially check in with the manager every 2 weeks to ensure this person is settling in well. I have always had great feedback and therefore we decided to change her contract to permanent. Now she remains with us as a valuable employee.
What did you find most impressive about this vendor?
They know what are requirements were, I was able to communicate effectively with Tiger every time. They send CVs that match our team and business needs.

Not that I can think of.

They put forward candidates to enter our formal interview process. They know our team and business well so their candidates are always good fits. When we know we are entering a recruiting period we notify Tiger, who are quick to put forward candidates.

All candidates I have recruited via Tiger are performing well in reviews and pushing the team forward.

Working directly with our account manager is very straightforward, she is always available and responsive.

I am impressed at how well they know the team and their ability to find candidates who match the specification, including as that specification has shifted over time.
Are there any areas for improvement?
Not really - Occasionally the selection is so thorough that we wondered if some 'out of the box' candidates might slip through the net, although we raised this and subsequently we received some less expected candidates.
Tiger Recruitment has pooled exceptional candidates. Their team lead intently listens to both the client and the candidate’s feedback to further clarify their understanding of the client’s needs. They’re able to independently gather unique candidates that don’t overlap with those of other agencies.
