A Clutch analyst personally interviewed this client over the phone. Below is an edited transcript.
Introduce your business and what you do there.
I’m the co-founder of DanceFight. We’re building out a next generation social platform for head to head competition. We’re focused on dance, but plan to extend into all kinds of content in the year ahead.
What challenge were you trying to address with Tesuji?
We developed our app natively for iOS, but we needed someone to build out the Android app.
What was the scope of their involvement?
We needed to develop an app that allows for continuous scrolling of video content. The delivery of the content needed to be immediate and consistent with the expectations of our audience, mainly Gen Z users.
We needed to sync up audio and video, and also needed a way for users to develop their presence and built out their profiles. We also needed to have all of the latest login and onboarding features and functionalities.
What is the team composition?
We work with a manager and three other people.
How did you come to work with Tesuji?
I believe we found Tesuji through a referral.
How much have you invested with them?
We’ve spent a little under $100,000.
What is the status of this engagement?
We’ve been working together since June 2020.
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
Tesuij has met all expectations of the deliverable. They’ve been excellent in terms of how they have run the process — it’s been very organized. They’ve provided regular reporting and timely delivery, which is crucial.
How did Tesuji perform from a project management standpoint?
They’re very organized. Their process is very strong, especially in contrast with our past experiences. Our project manager is always going the extra mile. Tesuji has definitely exceeded expectations. everyone is always available, not just in a tactical deliverable sense, but also as contributors to strategy and ideas.
What did you find most impressive about them?
It’s extremely unusual for these types of projects to be delivered on time. It was crucial for us to meet our deadlines, and we’re really impressed Tesuji was able to deliver.
Are there any areas they could improve?
There’s nothing that really comes to mind.
Do you have any advice for potential customers?
Design the relationship so that you have easy ways to extend or expand because you’ll probably want more of what they offer.
A reliable team, Tesuji has successfully delivered against all deliverables. Internal stakeholders are pleased with their knowledge and skillset, as well as with their creativity and willingness to collaborate and expand the product. Customers can expect a smooth and successful engagement.
