Software Development for Telematics Company
"Terraform was efficient, delivered on time, and provided feedback for any request given by my team."
the reviewer
the review
A Clutch analyst personally interviewed this client over the phone. Below is an edited transcript.
Introduce your business and what you do there.
I am a project manager at Fleet Profit Center and run our development department. We are a telematics company that resells Geotab devices. We also create custom add-ins for our clients.
What challenge were you trying to address with Terraform?
We had to develop a technology-specific application for Geotab devices for one of our clients and hired Terraform to build it.
What was the scope of their involvement?
The development was an evolution of a solution we already had; it’s similar to a website but it’s a more specific technology.
We have two very detailed reports: one is a dashboard and the other is detailed information including the scope of all the customers’ transactions. The Geotab device provides the customer with a database, and we can create modules inside that database.
For this project, Terraform had to create a specific set of dashboards, manipulate the customer data, display it graphs, and detail the graphs for specific operations.
What is the team composition?
I interacted with three people. There was a project manager, a team leader, and a developer.
How did you come to work with Terraform?
An old company that had relations with Terraform recommended them to us. One of our challenges in hiring developers is ramping-up for the learning curve at the beginning of the project as our solutions are very specific; we use an SDK from Geotab. It normally takes us two months to bring a developer up to speed to be able to face a project like that.
This project was also time sensitive. We needed to finish the development by the beginning of January so that we could provide the client with a full fiscal year.
We hired Terraform because they already had professionals with a high enough level of skill to be able to jump in and reduce that learning curve.
How much have you invested with them?
We have spent in the range of $15,000–$20,000.
What is the status of this engagement?
The partnership started in November 2021 when we gave them access to the source code we had. They studied the source code, prepared for the project, and started it at end of November 2021.
The project was delivered at the beginning of January 2022, as scheduled.
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
The real measure of success for us was the time and speed with which the developer took on the technology, understood it, and applied it to the project. They delivered according to our expectations.
How did Terraform perform from a project management standpoint?
It was a joint venture because my team handled part of the APIs that they would utilize; we needed the team to be integrated.
Terraform was efficient, delivered on time, and provided feedback for any request given by my team. In terms of communication, we had daily zoom meetings, as we are in different cities, and interacted over email. We also had a Teams group where the technical team could debate and discuss the project.
What did you find most impressive about them?
Terraform’s team had the efficient technical skills required for the project. Also, their high level of project management stood out. Their project manager was on top of everything and double-checked everything with us to ensure everything met standards.
We used about 6–7 different technologies, and Terraform grasped them quickly. They were professionals and the best at what they do. Thus, I didn't have to spend much time guiding them. We simply gave them the target, and they delivered an amazing project.
Are there any areas they could improve?
There’s to be improved, as we had a good relationship during the project.
Any advice for potential customers?
Always have good specifications, key objectives, and project requirements at the beginning.

Custom Software Development for Safety Solution Company
"They adapted to our priorities along the way."
the reviewer
the review
A Clutch analyst personally interviewed this client over the phone. Below is an edited transcript.
Introduce your business and what you do there.
I’m an executive at a safety solutions company.
What challenge were you trying to address with TERRAFORM?
We needed help with conceptualizing a dashboard for our customer’s administration.
What was the scope of their involvement?
TERRAFORM developed custom software for us and did UI/UX design as well. They started by creating mock-ups considering our agility requests, which we agreed to, and moved on to the development phase. In terms of technology, they made their sketches using View and HTML. Regarding functionalities, they delivered a platform with buttons that drive actionable items into our core software to high-level graphs from our database APIs.
What is the team composition?
We worked with Tariq (Sales & Business Development Lead), Klaus (Operations Manager), and the project tech lead, Akhya.
How did you come to work with TERRAFORM?
We put an RFP out; they responded and won it.
How much have you invested with them?
We spent around $60,000 CAD (approximately $47,000 USD) with them.
What is the status of this engagement?
We worked together from October 2020–September 2021.
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
They were able to deliver a quality product and overcome any potential challenges presented to us.
How did TERRAFORM perform from a project management standpoint?
They were perfectly acceptable; we used email and Zoom calls to communicate throughout the project.
What did you find most impressive about them?
Their flexibility in the change of direction was outstanding; we’re a fast-growing company, and they adapted to our priorities along the way, which made the engagement a lot easier.
Are there any areas they could improve?
At first, it was a bit of a rocky start in terms of development quality, and it took them a while to understand our technical requirements.
Any advice for potential customers?
Make sure that you have clear goals and firm instructions for your project.

Website & Mobile App Development for Digital Agency
"They genuinely cared about the product they were developing."
the reviewer
the review
The client submitted this review online.
Please describe your company and your position there.
CTO of an end to end digital agency based in New York. We offer a full range of services from web development to digital marketing and everything in between.
For what projects/services did your company hire TERRAFORM, and what were your goals?
We got a client who wanted to launch their own crypto coin in the market. They had very intricate requirements - and because we didn’t have enough resources to complete the project, we collaborated with Terraform.
How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?
We had been interviewing many agencies simultaneously. They were filtered out by our team based on their industry experience, references, and ratings on various B2B platforms. Terraform stood out as they had extensive experience with Blockchain platforms and mobile app development.
Describe the scope of work in detail, including the project steps, key deliverables, and technologies used.
The aim was to launch the crypto coin in the market that can be traded globally.
The entire project involved the following phases:
Tokenomics: studying and analyzing the crypto token Smart Contract
Development: blockchain programs that facilitate trading
Whitepaper: creating a research paper about the crypto token Marketing: spread awareness about the platform
Distribution & Listing: gain new users and distribute coin amongst them ICO
Launch: launch the coin
Platform Development: Creating a reliable platform where users can trade the coins
App Development: developing a robust mobile app Their team took care of everything from mapping out the features to designing the interface and developing the platform itself. They also helped us deploy the technical infrastructure, and are currently working on the web platform and the mobile app.
How many people from the vendor's team worked with you, and what were their positions?
We had a technical lead who steered the project. Apart from him, we had a chance to work with their blockchain experts, a small team of UI/UX designers, and developers.
Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?
Their team was great at execution. Even during the initial phases while we were brainstorming ideas — they didn’t leave any stone unturned. As a team, they brought in some really good ideas to the table that made the platform much better than we had expected.
Describe their project management style, including communication tools and timeliness.
The communication with them was smooth. We managed the project via JIRA and slack. They adhered to timelines, and were very responsive. Our calls were typically scheduled twice a week over Zoom.
What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?
They genuinely cared about the product they were developing. Hence, they took the time to plan the process carefully, ensuring the outcome. We were grateful for their support and were pleased with the end result.
Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?
Working with them was a delightful experience and we’re looking forward to working with them again.

Application Audit & Maintenance for Automotive Company
"TERRAFORM was able to take our vision to a whole new level."
the reviewer
the review
A Clutch analyst personally interviewed this client over the phone. Below is an edited transcript.
Introduce your business and what you do there.
I’m the VP of Auto Design. My son is the owner, and I work on the technical aspects and liaison with programmers. We have an app that enables users to take a picture of their car and modify its wheels. In the future, we hope to give the ability to change the appearance of the hood, glass, and other parts of the vehicle.
What challenge were you trying to address with TERRAFORM?
We had previously worked with an overseas vendor who couldn’t deliver the functionality we wanted. That vendor then recommended someone else who said they couldn’t audit the app and that the code had to be rewritten from scratch. Hence, we needed someone to take over and audit our app.
What was the scope of their involvement?
TERRAFORM first did an audit on the original application and made suggestions on how to upgrade it. They basically let us know if the code was stable and listed things they would change to enhance the app. We haven’t moved on to making these changes, but they now maintain the app.
What is the team composition?
There were 2–3 people on their team, but we worked directly with Klaus (Marketing Coordinator).
How did you come to work with TERRAFORM?
After our partnership with the first vendor didn’t work out, we decided to look for local agencies we wanted to avoid language barriers and issues in understanding our vision. TERRAFORM’s office was in Canada, and their support team was in-house, so we chose them.
How much have you invested with them?
We spent $1,000. We paid for a certain amount of hours of maintenance, which we could roll over if we didn’t use it up within a year.
What is the status of this engagement?
The project lasted from March–July 2021.
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
TERRAFORM was able to take our vision to a whole new level. They reassured us that the code was developed and documented correctly, which was invaluable because we wouldn’t have known how to move forward had the code been broken.
How did TERRAFORM perform from a project management standpoint?
Their project management was excellent — the TERRAFORM team was very open and communicative. Furthermore, they were patient when it came to waiting for our responses. We communicated via email and phone calls.
What did you find most impressive about them?
The level of expertise and knowledge in app development was exceptional. They were very confident and came across as a competent team who could handle anything we threw at them. Their maintenance packages were also very reasonable, and the team was flexible.
Are there any areas they could improve?
No, everything has turned out great since we started working together. I was confident that we found a company that was capable of delivering what we needed.
Do you have any advice for potential customers?
Do your homework on the agency and ask for references.

Mobile App Upgrade for Nonprofit Organization
"They were very efficient and were able to solve most of the bugs within a time span of one week."
the reviewer
the review
A Clutch analyst personally interviewed this client over the phone. Below is an edited transcript.
Introduce your business and what you do there.
Wood Buffalo Environmental Organization is a non-profit organization that monitors the environmental activities within the region of Wood Buffalo, located in the Northern part of Alberta, Canada. We mainly concentrate on collecting environmental information about different parameters used for different environmental studies.
I work here as a practical IT analyst and my main focus is to make sure that the IT systems run without any interruption.
What challenge were you trying to address with TERRAFORM?
Our requirement was to develop a mobile app for our community monitoring program.
What was the scope of their involvement?
TERRAFORM is involved in the upgrade of an existing app, as the previous app isn’t compatible with the new versions of Android and iOS anymore. However, we wanted to make sure that the app would still work with the older versions for people who are still using them. The application being upgraded by TERRAFORM is an old mobile app developed by TERRAFORM back in 2017, using PHP with MySQL as a backend hosted on AWS.
We started the process by discussing the initial code based on the requirements to upgrade the app and the latest version of PHP. We also made that we didn’t have any kind of security vulnerabilities within the Amazon Web Space. After we talked about the quotation, TERRAFORM provided us with a much more detailed code.
When we executed this contract, TERRAFORM was a little slower in accomplishing their initial documentation, resulting in the delay of the project. The development phase was also slow because we experienced technical issues related to AWS. however, those technical glitches were resolved in three weeks, and we later got the new app to test.
The first iteration had some technical issues, which they resolved in two weeks — the app is running smoothly now. One of the functionalities of the app is the ability to report environmental conditions such as burning and smoking. Users can then rate its level of severity on a scale of 1–10, and can say whether they experienced the condition indoors, outdoors, or at any other location. After that, they will be prompted to input the coordinates of the location.
The app will then automatically pick up the location, but if users want to give a specific location, they can always search and select that location. Once the observations are submitted, our team will collect, study, and use them for different purposes.
What is the team composition?
I work with four people most of the time, including a sole developer.
How did you come to work with TERRAFORM?
The main reason for hiring TERRAFORM was because they were the initial developers of this app. Instead of looking for new providers, we decided to go with TERRAFORM because they already knew of our app, the codes, and how it works — it would be much easier for them as they didn’t have to start the project from scratch.
How much have you invested with them?
We’ve spent around $17,000 CAD (approximately $13,300 USD).
What is the status of this engagement?
We signed the initial contract at the end of March 2021, but the actual project development started in mid-May because of the delays. The partnership is still ongoing as the app is still under maintenance. They provide us with support which we expect to be complete in the next week.
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
We have our own internal metrics which we use to measure the quality and quantity of the newly developed app, and the main focus is on functionality. We'll make sure that all the existing functionalities have been incorporated, and working seamlessly as required from a user perspective. From a technical perspective, we make sure that the newer versions of the app will work on the new releases of Android and iOS.
The new server we just launched in Amazon Web Services has the latest Linux and PHP installed, and our app works seamlessly there. We also make sure that the server is secure by removing all unwanted IP configurations, and make sure that SSL certificates are installed actively.
How did TERRAFORM perform from a project management standpoint?
I wouldn't give them a rating for this because we always have to follow up with them. They had a project management piece within the project scope which was paid by WBEA, and I believe it wasn’t utilized completely — they didn’t provide us with updates on the projects, so we had to follow up on a regular basis to receive them.
I'm not sure whether TERRAFORM uses any third-party tools internally, but for us, we normally communicate with our old email system, Office 365 email.
What did you find most impressive about them?
After we raised a couple of issues and concerns with them, the turnaround time for them to improve was pretty good — this was a big plus in the development process. They were very efficient and were able to solve most of the bugs within a time span of one week.
Are there any areas they could improve?
They can improve on a few things, specifically when doing the project scoping. They didn't realize the importance of that, so they may have missed some scoping. Additionally, to a small extent, we could have seen much more improvement from a project management perspective.
Any advice for potential customers?
I recommend them to insist on having weekly or biweekly reports from TERRAFORM.

Mobile App Dev for Construction Services Company
“They’re easy to talk to and get back to me immediately.”
the reviewer
the review
A Clutch analyst personally interviewed this client over the phone. Below is an edited transcript.
Introduce your business and what you do there.
I’m the owner of a construction services company. I just started this company and am in the very beginning stages of planning out an idea I had.
What challenge were you trying to address with TERRAFORM?
Within my construction business, I’m addressing the concerns of those who need to service their equipment but don’t know when it’s been serviced or how. I wanted to build an app that’d consolidate all of that information in one place.
What was the scope of their involvement?
I came to them with my original idea. TERRAFORM walked me through what they do as far as the plans they can put together and the steps they take to complete the project. They weren’t familiar with my industry at all, but they took the time to learn about what I was after.
Their team caught on quickly and provided lots of suggestions that helped the planning process. Once they got into planning and mapping everything out, they moved into implementation.
Initially, the app was going to be for both iOS and Android, but now I’m needing a web-based platform. For cost reasons, I’ll start out with just iOS and then eventually roll it out on Android as well.
The app’s key features include recording equipment lists and providing access to all the equipment information in one spot. Users can track their service records and know when each type of service is due. There’s also a client base so a service company is able to go through and have preventative maintenance programs for their clients.
What is the team composition?
I work with Tarik (Sales Lead) and Klaus (Marketing Coordinator). A former employee was working on the project as well before they left.
How did you come to work with TERRAFORM?
I found them through a Google search. TERRAFORM’s website looked very professional and caught my eye. I gave them a call and they answered right away. They said they’d do whatever I needed. We set up a meeting and here we are.
How much have you invested with them?
I’ve invested roughly $6,000 as of now.
What is the status of this engagement?
Our ongoing engagement started in December 2020.
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
The quality of work is great. TERRAFORM has mapped everything out and taught me a lot. They’re organized and always have a plan. Their team is informative about getting back to me and not going ahead with anything I don’t approve of. They’ve been receptive to my feedback.
How did TERRAFORM perform from a project management standpoint?
They’ve been great with project management. I’ve been a little inconsistent in trying to isolate the exact needs of what I need to build in order to make it a successful app. They’ve been great about making any changes. We usually communicate through emails and phone calls.
What did you find most impressive about them?
They’re easy to talk to and get back to me immediately. Their team is really willing to work on any project; even those that may be out of their knowledge range. TERRAFORM is knowledgeable and committed to learning about what we do. They’re experts about how to make money. I like that they’re business-minded and dedicated to helping me make a profitable app.
Are there any areas they could improve?
No, I can’t think of anything.
Do you have any advice for potential customers?
Set up a plan with them and have everything prepared before going in. Learning as you go is always more expensive than knowing everything and providing a set plan.

A Clutch analyst personally interviewed this client over the phone. Below is an edited transcript.
Introduce your business and what you do there.
I’m a senior IT sales manager for an IT architecture company. We work with businesses around the world. We are predominantly working from India and the US.
What challenge were you trying to address with TERRAFORM?
We didn’t have a physical office in Canada or enough people working there. We needed help with AI and mobile app development.
What was the scope of their involvement?
TERRAFORM has been working with us very closely in the Canada region on web and mobile applications. They work with our clients to find solutions for their needs.
They mostly helped with mobile app projects initially. Lately, we started working with them on web projects. They also do AI projects.
Recently, we assigned a project within the Canadian government. It’s mostly an intelligence project that involves heavy AI engines on the backend. TERRAFORM came up with a client/vendor solution, planning the entire AI solution.
It’s an intelligence platform that monitors the activities in a streak. This is a platform that works with an Android app. If users see anything anonymous, risky, or anything that they think is related to crime, they can post their information on this app.
The app collects information, and it also has an intelligent engine on the backend where it compares all this information and creates algorithms to understand what’s fake, what’s close to fake, what’s true, and what’s close to true. Based on the backend metrics, it comes up with a list of items on a particular street or area.
What is the team composition?
There are 10 people. I mostly converse with their lead project manager.
How did you come to work with TERRAFORM?
We were looking for a partner in Canada. We wanted somebody who could work with our clients. We found TERRAFORM through a reference. We started off with a small engagement.
How much have you invested with them?
We’ve spent between $700,000-$1,000,000.
What is the status of this engagement?
We started working together in October 2016 and the work is ongoing.
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
TERRAFORM is an exceptional team when it comes to custom mobile app development. We’re on the third phase of the project, and it’s going very well. They meet our expectations. They do a great job in web and mobile applications.
How did TERRAFORM perform from a project management standpoint?
Project management is an important aspect and the sweet point of the engagement. They manage the client and the project very well.
We use Jira. We have an internal tool use for project management. The communication happens mostly through email, meetings, and IMs through Hangouts or Google Meet.
What did you find most impressive about them?
TERRAFORM is very good with mobile application development.
Are there any areas they could improve?
They are doing everything well. The quality control is something they could improve a bit but it’s not bad.
Do you have any advice for potential customers?
I always refer them to our clients. I’m confident in recommending TERRAFORM to anybody.

A Clutch analyst personally interviewed this client over the phone. Below is an edited transcript.
Introduce your business and what you do there.
I’m developing a mobile app called Bitcoin Platinum. It’s an all-in-one app for finances and cryptocurrency.
What challenge were you trying to address with TERRAFORM?
I went to them to develop the app.
What was the scope of their involvement?
TERRAFORM is building my app for Android and iOS. They’re also helping me get this app launched, including finding angel investors and putting together my business proposal.
What is the team composition?
I’m working with the project lead.
How did you come to work with TERRAFORM?
I looked them up online and found that they have an office in Las Vegas, where I’m located. Their team knew a lot about blockchain technology, and they gave me a lot of insights on what I needed for the app.
I dealt with some other companies before reaching out to TERRAFORM didn’t have the enthusiasm and knowledge necessary. I felt comfortable with them and that I could trust them. TERRAFORM was on the up and up.
One thing about them is the transparency that they exhibit. They told me upfront how much everything was going to cost.
How much have you invested with them?
I’ve spent $500 so far.
What is the status of this engagement?
I started working with TERRAFORM in May 2020, and I plan on launching the app in February 2021. I’m still trying to get the funding together.
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
I never thought I’d come this far, this fast. The project started five months ago, and it’s already transforming into something big.
TERRAFORM gave me a six-month timeline because they wanted to do everything right, and that spoke volumes to me.
After I receive the funding, I plan to have TERRAFORM work on my digital marketing.
How did TERRAFORM perform from a project management standpoint?
I’m in contact with one person, and he’s good in terms of communication.
What did you find most impressive about them?
The team shows that they care about the project. I looked at platforms like the one I’m building, and I have a knack for finding flaws in those.
I explained to TERRAFORM what I wanted to do differently with me, and they understood that and laid it all out in the proposal. They have great professionalism when it comes to doing certain things. I wanted to rush that proposal out and show it to investors, but they insisted on taking more time and doing it properly.
They don’t just throw things together, and they treat my business like their own.
Are there any areas they could improve?
I don’t see anything that would need to be done differently. I just want TERRAFORM to keep doing what they’re doing.
Do you have any advice for potential customers?
If the client is transparent about what they want to do, TERRAFORM will go the extra mile.

I’m the founder of a massage clinic. We help people eliminate pain through massage.
What challenge were you trying to address with TERRAFORM?
We were developing a gig economy app for massages. We developed an initial version using a company from India, but some features weren’t working so we called TERRAFORM for help.
What was the scope of their involvement?
TERRAFORM is developing our app for iOS and Android.
What is the team composition?
I’ve worked with Adrian (General Manager), Klaus (Marketing Coordinator), and a developer.
How did you come to work with TERRAFORM?
I searched online and chose them because they were a local company in Canada.
How much have you invested with them?
I’ve paid them $1,500 CAD (approximately $1,100 USD).
What is the status of this engagement?
I started working with TERRAFORM in June 2020, and the work is ongoing.
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
They’re quick and they respond to my issues right away. I haven’t received the app yet, but I know that their developer is working hard to get it done.
How did TERRAFORM perform from a project management standpoint?
I work all day, so I can only respond to their emails at night after I get home. This is probably why the project is taking a bit longer.
What did you find most impressive about them?
They stick to what they promise, and they’re reliable. TERRAFORM is a company I can really trust, and I’d recommend them.
Are there any areas they could improve?
No, everything is perfect.
Do you have any advice for future clients of theirs?

A Clutch analyst personally interviewed this client over the phone. Below is an edited transcript.
Introduce your business and what you do there.
I own an online pharmacy.
What challenge were you trying to address with TERRAFORM?
We hired them to design a website for us.
What was the scope of their involvement?
TERRAFORM designed our website from scratch. We went through the wireframing process. I believe they used React Native.
What is the team composition?
In total, we’ve worked with five people.
How did you come to work with TERRAFORM?
Someone referred us to them.
How much have you invested with them?
We spent around $150,000.
What is the status of this engagement?
Our engagement with TERRAFORM started in 2018. We work with them still with changes and updates.
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
TERRAFORM delivers a reliable service. The site is functional, but we’re continuing to change things. They’re pretty good with their design expertise. We test quite frequently, but everything works properly. If there’s an issue, we can get them to look at it.
The process was very detailed. During the wireframing phase, they brought me in several times to confirm the offerings and asked what else I wanted to see. They work well with their customers.
How did TERRAFORM perform from a project management standpoint?
Their communication is pretty thorough. There are very few gaps. I believe they outsource some of their design programming, which can cause some delays.
What did you find most impressive about them?
