I’m the managing partner of a company that is a market leader in executive search for marketing and IT roles in Switzerland. We also provide digital skills and maturity assessments.

We needed help with the development of our digital skills assessment tool.

What was the scope of their involvement?

tenpixls supported the engineering requirements and developed the digital skills assessment tool based on the requirements. They also created an experimental UI concept. tenpixls started by assessing the project approach and delivering the requirements. The team then provided a design study to discuss with us. In the following setup, tenpixls provided the development code using Java and implemented a headless approach with cloud technology.

We worked with Pavel, Andrew, a project lead, and a customer engagement manager.

How did you come to work with tenpixls?

We found tenpixls through a recommendation from a colleague who had previously worked with them. We initially hired them through Fiver for a small web optimization project on our old WordPress page, and the engagement went so well that we continued working with the team.

How much have you invested with them?

We spent between €50,000–€100,000.

What is the status of this engagement?

We worked together from August 2022–February 2024.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

The project's success was that the tool worked well and had no issues with the backend functionality. The tool's quality was 99%, and the team provided great UX consulting. We were happy with tenpixls' UI concept. We've been in this industry for 20 years and really liked tenpixls' approach. The entire team was great.

How did tenpixls perform from a project management standpoint?

tenpixls was super responsive and worked quickly to address any issues when something didn't work as expected or requirements weren't clear. The team provided attention on a 24/7 mode to support our customers. We communicated via Zoom and Google Meet and used Jira and the Confluence suite for documentation.

What did you find most impressive about them?

We were impressed with tenpixls' deep knowledge of technology and their ability to use it in a fast-paced environment. The team had a lean approach to fixing issues quickly.

Are there any areas they could improve?

I can't think of anything that tenpixls could improve on at the moment. Everything was working great.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

Have a deep exchange with tenpixls to let them understand the project from A to Z; that way, you'll get the best out of it. Keep the team informed and transparent on what you're trying to achieve because they'll find the best way for the solution.

I’m a senior director for an HR relocation company. I’m responsible for the overall software product management and strategy.

What challenge were you trying to address with tenpixls?

We do a lot of product ideation or product design for new or existing concepts. We need someone to go out into the market and do some level of user testing for some of the designs we’ve built, or we have them build specific designs for our products and then validate them through user testing. The goal is to make our product design more valuable and meaningful to our end clients.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

We hire tenpixls to work on design, which is more like product development. This includes screens, interfaces, the product's appearance, and the overall UX. When we design a product, we employ tenpixls and then go out and build it.

We usually provide them with a product and a brief or business or product requirements document that clearly explains the high-level requirements, including the business objectives, the problem we’re trying to solve, and how this product will solve it. If applicable, we also give them competitor information regarding what’s out there in the market and market research as part of the project brief.

tenpixls takes the brief to review it, and we have subsequent calls to discuss if they have any questions. Then, they start the design; they’re not responsible for development. They use standard design software, like InDesign and Figma, which we use to collaborate on comments, videos, and design things of that nature.

We work with Pavel (Founder & Managing Consultant) and Yurii (Senior Account Manager).

How did you come to work with tenpixls?

I found them online through Fiverr, and we started working together through the platform.

How much have you invested with them?

We spend anywhere from $100,000–$999,000 a year.

What is the status of this engagement?

We started working with them in June 2022, and our relationship is ongoing. Just like any product development, it’s in flow. There might be periods when we’re not engaging them, but then we come up with a new product or an enhancement of an existing one, and we engage them again.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

tenpixls has mostly met our expectations and exceeded them in many cases. Moreover, they’ve tried anticipating our needs and proactively building recommendations and solutions upfront. It’s been a great experience, and they’re easy to work with. We don’t have to follow up multiple times or explain a lot. Whatever we’re looking for, they deliver that and then some.

How did tenpixls perform from a project management standpoint?

We’ve extended the timeline or budget in some cases, but it hasn’t been their fault. Sometimes we expand the scope or change directions, so they have to redo the budget and timeline. I’d attribute it to a joint, collaborative product development lifecycle rather than anything they’ve done.

We continue using Fiverr to work together.

Are there any employees from the service provider's team that you would like to give a shout-out to in this review?

Pavel is a great resource. He’s quick to understand our needs and come up with different solutions to present to us, so he’s been very collaborative.

Yurii has also been great to work with. He’s managed the expectations, timelines, and projects really well. Whenever we encounter a roadblock, we work collaboratively to solve it. Both of them have done an excellent job in terms of what we expect from a service provider.

What did you find most impressive about them?

They’re a great company. If you need product ideation or product design, I’d definitely recommend them.

Are there any areas they could improve?

The only challenge we encounter as a company is that tenpixls doesn’t know our business domain. However, we don’t expect them to have that knowledge, so we don’t worry about it.

As with any other third-party company, tenpixls tries to understand all the details. However, sometimes it’s hard for any third party to understand the perspective because we engage them on a project basis. Nonetheless, tenpixls has met the scope needs that we’ve engaged them for.

Each approach has pros and cons: having a full-time employee inside the company versus a third party who engages in a project; it has nothing to do with tenpixls. We’re rightfully choosing the project-based approach because our business model involves getting help externally or employing people on a need basis rather than having a full-time employee.

If you’re considering using tenpixls on a project-level basis, you must provide enough context of the problem you’re trying to solve in the brief. The more details you provide, the better the design and outcomes of the product will be.

I am a manager in a multinational accounting company. We help our clients throughout the whole business life cycle (establishment, accounting, payroll, legal or tax advise).

We have hired TenPixls to create from scratch a website for our company. We wanted to change the web platform to Wordpress (efficiency of development and maintenance), update design (to align with our Brand Manual and modern trends), improve UX (to increase conversions), to improve SEO (by writing clean code and cooperation with our SEO partner). Ultimate goal to attract new clients and increase conversion of existing leads.

SOLUTION

How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?

We have searched a partner in Estonia, where HQ office of our company is located, but could not find any partner that would meet our criteria (we even tried to develop the site with one promising local company, but did not work out). So we started searching in countries where our offices are located and found TenPixls in Ukraine. The deciding factors were actually just a few: full scope service (from design to live site), quality of work (references), client oriented mentality.

We started with a kick off call, where we provided the partner with our objectives and vision of the project. We have then agreed on creating wireframes of our future website (multiple rounds of internal review and external review).

After that we have decided to move forward with this partner for the full site development. We have discussed and filled in a questionnaire on design and Brand. Then the designed wireframes were delivered to us and after multiple reviews from our side we proceeded to the development. Once the site was developed the partner has passed over the site and its management.

After the development we had multiple additional issues to be done (e.g. legal disclaimer, edits based on SEO partner recommendations, transfer of content from previous website (articles database).Finally, the step we are at now is full support in publishing the new website.

Mainly we communicated and worked with the Project Manger. I could see designer, web developer involved in some occasions. To my impression at least 5 people have worked on our project.

Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?

We are still in process of launching the site (as we are developing the content for the new site, not related to this partner). But in terms of the UX, design and technical requirements set at the beginning all of the objectives have been achieved on a very high level!

Project management was on a very high level. The process is well organised, very good communication (in English), this has been a very easy and pleasant ride overall. They have also "over delivered" on each step of the way, delivering more than what was promised without any extra charge. They also did very well considering that communication from our side was not always very fast and smooth. They have been able to adjust to our pace of work.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

They have delivered the project despite the war breaking out in their company. They have been in touch with us within the month of war and assured that the work will be delivered and they did!

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

It would be great if they had some tool/ software for project management. That we could have all our communications more structured and materials in one place. (even something like Teams channel could work very well).

I am the Founder of 90s Toys, a media publisher focused on producing nostalgic content for millennials. My background is in Search Engine Optimisation and bring a lot of that thinking to the project.

With the success of our Instagram channel, we were looking for avenues to expand our reach. Having secured the domain for 90stoys.com - it was a no brainer to invest in our own site and space on the web.

How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?

During the conceptual stage, we worked with TenPixls on wireframes for the site. Early on, the agency took the time to understand our goals and purpose - and produced bespoke wireframes to match.

I was impressed with the quality and ways of working - which gave me confidence in selecting them to build the site. In addition, they were very receptive to working towards a framework that prioritised Search Engine Optimisation.

After a detailed scoping session, TenPixls were able to sift through my ideas and come back with a goal orientated proposal that would fit my budget and get the project off the ground. The designs and content for the site were at various states of completion, but TenPixls were able to work around this easily and patiently.

The agency updated me weekly on progress and set up a staging site so I could audit and assess the site as it was being built. Any issues were solved as we went along, which meant by completion, there was little we had to fix up.

We worked with several team members including a project manager, front-end and back-end developers, UX and analytic experts.

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

The main KPIs for this project were focused on technical optimisation for SEO (Core Web Vitals - performance, CLS etc). The technical scores that were achieved are industry leading, with most pages receiving scores of 100/100 across technical categories (using Google tool web.dev).

Real world page speeds are very impressive and significantly better than most established sites with much higher budgets. Although still early days, results are looking very promising with multiple pages featured for keywords on page 1 of Google's search results.

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

The project manager was great to work with and we developed very effective communication throughout the project. Turnaround on implementations was very fast and my many questions throughout were answered with expertise and recommendations.

As an SEO expert, there were many important aspects I needed to convey for implementation. Everything I put forward was understood and executed well.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

I'm extremely happy with selecting TenPixls as my agency partner for this project. From value, to expertise, execution and communication I couldn't have asked for a better experience. Fantastic work.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

Having worked for various digital agencies myself, I was very impressed with the overall experience. Many of the bigger agencies could learn a lot from TenPixls.

We searched online for web developers. Aiming for professional teams, we hired a minor job of wireframes with 3 companies to test their approach and deliverables. TenPixls was the chosen one based on their solid background, clear communication, and quality of the deliverables.

We had several meetings to discuss the project, set objectives, feasibility, cost, and potential design issues. With the latest, TenPixls developed the web platform, testing and adjusting every step and deliverable.

They assigned a project manager as our key contact to keep communications straightforward. We also met the Technical Leader, a full stack developer with solid knowledge in the field. Behind the scenes, they have other developers and designers.

After publishing the first version of the website, we had around four hundred comments and emails from users within 2 months. This helped us to understand the users' needs, concerns, and profile.

We communicated with the project manager who organize and passed our request and concerns to the rest of the team. Most of the time we used emails, but the PM was accessible through other channels like WhatsApp or iMessage if we were in a hurry.

They gave us confidence from the beginning until the end of the project. They behave professionally, with honesty and respect and shown a strong willing to deliver an exceptional quality product. Their uniqueness rest on their knowledge of web technologies, their rational approach to solve any issues and features and the flexibility they gave us to accommodate time and cost within our needs. They manage expectations well.

Nothing special comes to my mind. They managed the project well. Minor bugs appeared and were fixed as part of the normal life cycle of any project.

How did you select TenPixls and what were the deciding factors?

There were many deciding factors, however, the top three are as follows: cost, efficiency, and communication. Prior to starting the project, TenPixls and us had a lot of discussions about the expectations of the project and its associated cost. We managed to come into an agreement for a cost level that works perfectly for us. Not only that, before starting the major project, we also had mini projects (e.g. wireframes, etc.) with TenPixls. The level of efficiency and the smooth communication flow for the delivery of the mini projects were impressive. That in turn made us want to work with TenPixls.

We had a kickoff meeting about the exact expectations of the project. We provided them with a document listing out exactly what we wanted, and they came back to us with a detailed timeline of the project. Every single week, the person in charge of our account, will send us a weekly update on the progress of the project. The key deliverables were to create a platform that would help us with a new form of retail distribution. The tech stack: Laravel.

I understood that there were a team of people that was working on this particular project. However, my only point of contact was Yurii, he is the senior account manager at TenPixls. The communication flow with Yurii was amazing. Despite being in different time zones, we managed to communicate effectively via emails and Zoom calls. And all of our request and expectations were met with efficiency.

Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?

We have not launched our website, however, our entire management team were really impressed with the how the website turned out.

I would say that their project management style is efficient. We will get weekly updates to track the progress of the project. Any minor notes will be communicated via emails, and any major discussions will be held via Zoom. Effective, fast, and well organised.

The ability to communicate with us. The idea for the platform is complex, but communicating it to them is effortless. They managed to conceptualise it very quickly and started development right away.

None that I can think of. I am really impressed with all areas.

Our company wanted to diversify its business model. Until now there was no possibility to compare the different companies in the segment.

We saw that as an oppotunity and wanted to build a comparison portal. We do not have any in-house webdesigners/programmers, so we needed to outsource the project.

What were your goals for this project?

Our goal for that project was to build a simple, appealing and user friendly website, which would be easy to manage and update ourselves, without having to contact the engineers/programmers first.

How did you select TenPixls?

We searched for web developers in foreign countries, because we wanted to save money. This was quite a challenge, because it was pretty hard sorting out who was actually serious, had the capabilities to fit our needs and had good reviews.

After comparing various offers, we chose TenPixls. Not because they were the cheapest, but because they fit our requirements the best and had the most value for their price.

Once we chose TenPixls, we started off with discussing our needs in detail with them. They really paid attention and asked questions when something was unclear.

What i found truly remarkable was that they really wanted to understand what our idea and our visions behind the project were, so they could deliver the best work. We then received the wireframes, which reflected their professional approch.

The changes we wanted to make were taken very seriously. We then follow the standarized steps to further initiate and complete the project.

Throughout this process we received weekly updates on the progress, which was very nice, because you always knew on which stage of the project you were.

What was the team composition?

We were assigned a project manager to communicate with us and give all the details through to the team. It was great having the same contact person all along the project.

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

Our website has not been online for long yet, but we have already received alot of positive feedback on the design, usability and look of the site.

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

The project manager that we were assigned was easy to communicate with, and provided us with weekly updates. We connected over skype and email. The timelines that the team made where all met.

What did you find most impressive about this company?

The most impressive things were their wordpress work and their abilty to increase website loading speed. We received even more autonomity of managing the website than whe had initially hoped for.

The programming that was made was explained in videos, so that we could easily understand how to use the created features, and always rewatch them when needed.

Are there any areas for improvement?

At first the company seemed a bit intransparent, but after working with them on the project that feeling has gone away.
