I’m the president of Pretika Corporation, a medical device brand of aesthetic wellness and personal care products.

What challenge were you trying to address with Teksun Inc?

We hired them for hardware, firmware, AI development, QA and QC testing, and to integrate our devices through the cloud. Our partner would use our app's UI/UX design and enable it to communicate with the device.

What was the scope of their involvement?

Teksun Inc has taken over firmware and hardware development, initiating and executing many steps for us. We had already done preliminary work and had functional prototypes for presentation purposes. The team has taken those prototypes to the production level. Our product is FDA-approved for over-the-counter sales, and Teksun Inc is in charge of the technology and AI that allows the device to communicate wirelessly through the cloud to enable users to download the data on the app.

They started by building the demo and the functional prototype development. The team has had to communicate with the factory that manufactures the device that incorporates the connected skincare technology. Teksun Inc has taken the existing UI/UX design and developed the AI firmware and hardware. The team has also developed the programming through the cloud. 

Additionally, they're in charge of setting up the device's ability to communicate wirelessly through the cloud. The team has used iOS, Android, Bluetooth, and Wireless technology. They've also utilized Wi-Fi 6 technology and have worked within AWS for Health. 

Currently, Teksun Inc is in the final stage: functional integrated testing and QA and QC testing. We're putting pre-production samples together and getting close to having the factory do the final signoff on the hardware and firmware components. Along with that, we're also doing the final setup on AWS for Health. With Teksun Inc, we're planning the testing aspect several months ahead to roll out the product in January 2023. 

What is the team composition?

Teksun Inc has a very broad team that they've broken up into three groups: firmware and hardware, AI, and UI/UX design. The AI side is also responsible for the programming.

How did you come to work with Teksun Inc?

They were a referral from our UI/UX designer; they partner with Teksun Inc a lot. 

What is the status of this engagement?

We started working together in November 2021, and the engagement is ongoing.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement? 

The engagement has been positive. We can’t do an overall completion assessment because the project is still ongoing, and a lot more testing must be done. However, Teksun Inc’s team members are very professional and astute. They have a well-run organization and the ability to work with major companies and startups. 

Moreover, they’re meeting all the project and phase goals and have the kind of team to make this technology happen. We’ve had many steps to get the programming through the cloud, and the firmware and hardware have been instrumental in finalizing the overall product design. Overall, we’ve been very impressed with Teksun Inc.

How did Teksun Inc perform from a project management standpoint?

They have a professional work model with weekly meetings and constant follow-up. From a task management standpoint, the team has a very succinct plan and model to follow. Before starting the project, they completed a timeline broken down by cost structure, activities, and commitment dates, which they’ve met. Moreover, they’re within budget and make sure we’re on schedule during our weekly meetings. They handle communication professionally via email and Webex. 

What did you find most impressive about them?

What sets Teksun Inc apart is their team — they have a broad experience base. As a company, they’re not only doing innovations for their clients but also innovating on their own. From our standpoint, it’s a successful model because since they succeed with their own technologies, they have expertise and capabilities that benefit us as clients. 

Are there any areas they could improve?

Because the project isn’t complete, we can’t give a definitive response to how they could improve. To date, the project has been positive. 

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

Every company has their culture in dealing with third parties, the technology required to execute their products, and their market. Teksun Inc is a resource to consider and review. However, there are many technology companies in the same space; it’s up to the individual company to bring in the expertise of a third party. Still, as they take those steps and conduct those interviews, they’ll find a solid team within Teksun Inc.

I’m an executive at Estech Systems, a communication solutions company.

What challenge were you trying to address with Teksun Inc?

We had a legacy product that was no longer meeting our needs, so we needed help enhancing it.

What was the scope of their involvement?

Teksun Inc helped us build a new web-based application that allows users to place orders independent of their location. Users can see pricing and generate proposals for our clients and potential customers. Regarding technologies, we are using APIs and cloud AWS servers.

What is the team composition?

We worked with Brijesh (CEO), Tyler (VP of Product), an account manager, a project lead, and several designers weekly.

How did you come to work with Teksun Inc?

We found them through an online search.

What is the status of this engagement?

We started working together in October 2021, and the engagement is ongoing.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

We haven’t launched the product yet, but feedback on the BETA activities is very positive; we’ve got a handful of users that haven’t found any bugs.

How did Teksun Inc perform from a project management standpoint?

Project management and communication is great, even though, we had a non-critical 10-day slip. In terms of status tracking and resolution, we used Google Sheets.

What did you find most impressive about them?

Their commitment to customer satisfaction is their biggest strong point; they’re quick in responding to our questions and very good at adjusting their development according to our requirements and scope creep, which is very helpful.

Are there any areas they could improve?

I don’t think there’s anything they can improve on — they’re a great team that’s very open to feedback and requests.

Introduce your business and what you do there.

I’m the VP of product development and one of the shareholders at Inspired Fitness. We design fitness equipment, like strength equipment, bikes, ellipticals, and other high-end equipment for home use and commercial environments. So, we’re mostly a mechanical manufacturer.

What challenge were you trying to address with Teksun Inc?

Recently, we've been trying to get into mobile applications, e-commerce Web sites and trying to design our own electronics, like touchscreen displays that operate the machinery. We started to develop software on our own, but we had a lot of overhead. So that's why we brought on Teksun Inc. We were looking for support and expertise in software and electronics design, while saving cost.

What was the scope of their involvement?

They took care of the wireframes and everything. In our first project with them, we gave them an off-shelf board that needed to be redesigned and needed a customized firmware. We asked them to rewrite the firmware. They pretty much did the whole project for us, including certification.

They also created a calibration app. They nailed it and they did it really quickly. So at that point, we started exploring what else we could work on with them. Our partnership has ballooned since then and they’re working on a lot of projects across various disciplines.

We’ve gotten into e-commerce, and they handle our whole website. That includes service and support. They also built an electronics control board for one of our systems from the ground-up. They handled the demo app, the firmware, and the board layout. They’re just about to wrap up that project. We currently have about four different projects going on with them.

What is the team composition?

We’re working with about eight people on their team now. We work with one full-time firmware engineer, two full-time hardware engineers, and an engineering manager. But when it comes to e-commerce, I think they have 3-4 more engineers.

How did you come to work with Teksun Inc?

One of our software engineers met them on a flight.

How much have you invested with them?

We spend about $13,000 per month with them (approximately $130,000 in total).

What is the status of this engagement?

We began working together in April 2019. A few projects have been wrapped up, but we’re still working together.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement? 

The first project we worked on is in production and has been successful. The firmware project doesn’t have any bugs and has been a successful product for us. We’re probably selling $30,000 worth of that bike per month. We have four more projects in development with them now, and we’re looking forward to rolling those out.

The e-commerce website changed our company quite a bit. Our last website didn’t function well, and we lost a lot of our business. But after working with Teksun Inc, we’ve gained all that business back and then some.

They literally saved our business by stepping in so quickly. Black Friday is a big day for us, and they had the website operating by then. Now, we’re just looking for more ways to engage with them.

How did Teksun Inc perform from a project management standpoint?

They’ve met every deadline. They’re great. They’re excellent communicators. They’re based overseas, so we have early morning calls, but they speak great English, which makes things easier for us. They also have stateside support, so we even have face to face time with them as well.

Are there any areas they could improve?

I can’t give them any constructive criticism.

Our company provides managed website operations and marketing technology services to growing businesses, and I’m the CEO and founder.

What challenge were you trying to address with Teksun Inc?

We have in-house advertising, marketing, and front-end operations teams, but lacked the technical expertise to develop the infrastructure of our platform.

What was the scope of their involvement with Teksun Inc?

Teksun Inc. provided back-end development work, which involved network engineering— managing our website deployments through GitLab Enterprise and Jenkins automation. Their WordPress and PHP developers helped with some of our backend integrations as well.

What is the team composition?

The team assigned to us consisted of 2–3 people. We had an on-demand relationship where they worked with us on a project-by-project basis.

How did you come to work with Teksun Inc?

I met the CEO, Brijesh (CEO, Teksun) through some technology networking events a few years back. When my business started to rapidly scale, I reached out to Brijesh for the resources I needed.

How much have you invested with them?

We’ve spent around $20,000 this year, and plan to spend $43,200 dollars.

What is the status of this engagement?

We started working together in January of 2019 and will continue working with them for a few years.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

Teksun Inc’s work has alleviated my anxieties and concerns. Since they’ve come on board, my stress level has dropped, because they enable me to build my business more effectively. I’m now able to take on more clients to build new revenue streams. 

How did Teksun Inc perform from a project management standpoint?

I don’t have any complaints. They communicate well and are very proactive. We communicate mainly through email and our project portal, which are so effective that we no longer have to have frequent phone calls. In addition, they always deliver on time.

What did you find most impressive about them?

I wouldn’t have chosen to work with an offshore company if I hadn’t met Brijesh. They’re very trustworthy and competent. I’m lucky to have met the right team for me.

Are there any areas they could improve?

No, I really can’t think of anything.

The key to leveraging independent teams is to provide valuable feedback that they need in order to be successful.

We actually checked who will be the developer working on our project and took his multiple interviews before finalising them.

They provided Android developer who is working with our internal team. He is quite good at the moment.

We gave key skills and ask them if they have nay developer with that. They quickly come up and scheduled his multiple interviews with us.

With their support, we start the project immediately.

Even he is working remotely, he is giving much more efforts in project delivery.

They have highly skilled and cost-effective developers.
