Techtic Solutions Inc’s project management was good. However, we experienced some difficulties with communication. They were from India, and I was from Latin America, and we were both trying to speak English. Nonetheless, we managed despite that. We communicated through emails and video conferences. 

What did you find most impressive about them?

Techtic Solutions Inc’s app development expertise was impressive. They did the project in a short amount of time, and they were reliable.

Are there any areas they could improve?

They could have improved their communication with clearer and more organized emails. That said, the partnership was generally good.

I’m the CEO of Flux Branding, a branding and design agency. We do a lot of digital web development and other types of campaigns.

What challenge were you trying to address with Techtic Solutions Inc?

We've had a number of different in-house technical teams in the past, but we had a lot of different needs and we couldn’t afford to maintain an adequate bench of different disciplines when we're doing digital development. 

We needed a company that could provide us with different types of resources on a variable need basis.

We use Techtic Solutions Inc for our technical development needs, specifically when we need to develop digital applications that are more than just standard web development. My internal team handles simple web development, such as brochureware sites, but we use Techtic Solutions Inc when we’re doing anything that requires advanced functionality.

We build a lot of WordPress sites, so Techtic Solutions Inc develops a lot of custom WordPress plug-ins and other integrations into other systems for us. They also work on advanced custom fields (ACF), which is a platform that we use extensively within WordPress, and regularly help us develop custom web apps on Node.js and Angular.

Aside from that, they do a little bit of design work for us as well. Because we're essentially a design studio, we're extremely focused on the user interface. Most of the user interface comes from us, and Techtic Solutions Inc is tasked with implementing them and handling all the technical work. In many cases, this involves creating variations of the user interface that we've given them.

We work with an account manager, a project manager, and a business analyst from Techtic Solutions Inc. We also work with three developers and a few other people that handle the QA.

We have been working with Techtic on and off for about 10 years. Our partnership began with them just doing web maintenance for us, which involved fixing issues and optimizing the site. Over time, their business has grown and so have ours, but we’ve managed to maintain and even broaden the scope of our partnership.

We started working together in January 2012, and the engagement is ongoing.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

Techtic Solutions Inc provides a tremendous amount of latitude, and our clients have been really impressed that we can respond to their needs in so many different ways. We have so much technical horsepower for a creative company. I don’t think we would be the company we are today if it wasn’t for Techtic Solutions Inc.

In addition to that, one project that we developed together for a client has now become a digital platform that we've launched for other clients as well. Techtic Solutions Inc has been a major partner on that — they have a dedicated team that is only working on that particular digital project.

How did Techtic Solutions Inc perform from a project management standpoint?

Techtic Solutions Inc’s project management is very good. We have strong project management ourselves, so it's important that we take the lead on project management. So far, they've been very responsive to our lead.

What did you find most impressive about them?

Techtic Solutions Inc’s technical knowledge and competence are impressive. They’ve been able to provide creative solutions to problems. They’re also personable and incredibly easy to work with.

Are there any areas they could improve?

Sometimes, we do have to go through a couple of rounds of iteration in order to get a certain product in the way that we wanted it. I think this may have resulted from how we communicated in the early stages of the project. All of our overseas teams work in different ways, culturally speaking, so finding that cultural fit for us took a while.

Even though we’ve had challenges in our relationship, we’ve always found a way to get through them. At the end of the day, we have a 10-year relationship, and I definitely consider them a strong partner. I don't think that we would be able to do what we do if we didn't have our relationship with Techtic Solutions Inc.

AQF is a financial services company that’s looking to improve financial investment standards internationally for general businesses. We give our customers a platform to invest small sums of money based on our advice. We’re a newly formed company as part of a joint venture with a number of parties that have experience with financial advisory, technical solutions, and service delivery.

As the CTO, I deal with anything related to software development, project management, and the UI. 

What challenge were you trying to address with Techtic Solutions Inc?

My brother and I came up with the idea for the application that we were building. We needed a software company that we could trust and create a relationship with to help create the app.

What was the scope of their involvement? 

Techtic Solutions Inc developed our web app using our project specs, going over our base ideas and what we were looking for in terms of outcomes. Our goal was to get a definable product that met the requirements of customers who were looking to invest. We gave the team a lot of products and worked with them to figure out how to best align our target customer with the end solution.

Since then, they’ve provided full-stack development support for our team. They’ve written code and have also provided engineering assistance to get our product uploaded into our development and live platforms, using products like Linode. Finally, they’ve ensured that the product itself is mobile-friendly.

What is the team composition? 

There have been about 10 people at different times. We’ve had about 3–4 developers, a couple of QA specialists, and a project manager. There’s a service person, too. Most of our interaction has been with the management side of things and the individual developers.

How did you come to work with Techtic Solutions Inc?

We stumbled across Techtic Solutions Inc on LinkedIn and had numerous meetings with their development team to make sure that their processes and ideas aligned with our own. They were very flexible and open to anything that we could throw at them.

I also liked how they were set up with a larger development team in India while still having an office in New York. Our partners had offices there, as well, so we had a bit more assurance that we could gain contacts. They were really positive and understood our vision. In the end, we were confident in moving forward with their team.

Currently, we’ve spent around $30,000. We’re trying to get to a point where we’re in the market and can start having customers. The expectation is that Techtic Solutions Inc will continue to be our partner for this product as more development goes their way.

What is the status of this engagement?

We’ve been working with them since the first quarter of 2019. They built the first part of the application about two years ago, and we’ve worked on the second half over the past year.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

They’ve been nothing but helpful in all of our interactions. We haven’t had many bugs, and if there are any, they understand to prioritize them by the following meeting. Most of the changes we’ve made to the product have focused on aligning certain elements to our end goal.

How did Techtic Solutions Inc perform from a project management standpoint?

The project management side has always been on track. They’ve met all deadlines, with the exception of a few slippages. However, those have been due to slight changes in scope rather than their team. 

We work in an agile method, hosting weekly calls throughout the project to look at what we’ve done over the previous week, set our priorities for the following week, and discuss any changes we need to make. Generally, the development leads complete those tasks by the following meeting.

Beyond that, they use Jira to manage their internal work and emails for anything pressing that I need to do.

What did you find most impressive about them?

Their knowledge of various technical options helps them stand out. For example, we’ve been looking into authentication and payment services that customers would already be using (e.g., DocuSign, PayPal) rather than investing in our own bespoke product. Techtic Solutions Inc’s insight on those products has been excellent because they’ve used them before. 

This also allows them to suggest the simplest ways to move our project forward. We’ll say what we roughly want, and they’ll give us a number of options on how we might deliver that. In that sense, it’s really been a developing partnership.

Are there any areas they could improve?

Having a standard report each week might be good, but that’s more to show my partners in the organization.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

If you’re going to work with an outsourced team, your objectives need to be clear. Make sure they understand what your overall end goal is. As long as you’re confident that you can keep the communication line clear and positive, then you’ll be fine.

What challenge were you trying to address with Techtic Solutions Inc?

Our service is meant to help caretakers have an easier way to care for people with dementia, Alzheimer's, and other issues. It can be a huge financial burden for a lot of people. We wanted to develop a single portal for people to access information from multiple, disparate apps to compare prices.

What was the scope of their involvement?

Techtic Solutions is developing our mobile-friendly web application. We started with a planning phase by brainstorming, mind mapping, and developing wireframes. We tried to identify any challenges that we may come across up front. They shared their expertise and gave us advice. After that, they moved into the development phase. Once the web app is completed, they’ll build our iOS and Android apps to accompany it. They’ve used Ruby on Rails and integrated IBM Watson for AI.

We worked with the CEO and had a primary point of contact for the development. We have two developers in particular that have worked with us.

I was looking at development firms. I didn't want to work with a large one given that costs would be so much higher. We had tried hiring internally but couldn’t find the skill set we needed, especially given the AI and machine learning aspects. Other colleagues eventually pointed me to Techtic Solutions.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

We’re just starting to measure impact. The feedback we’ve received so far from users and test cases has been overwhelmingly positive. One of the feedback points that I’ve heard is that the app is very intuitive. To the users, it's a simple solution—because the backend is doing a lot of the heavy lifting on behalf of the customer. Techtic Solutions has made the app seamless and simple. I can’t give them enough accolades. Given that Techtic Solutions is doing this in a second language for some of them, is particularly impressive. I applaud the work they've done. It's fantastic and I've enjoyed working with them thus far.

How did Techtic Solutions Inc perform from a project management standpoint?

They give us daily reports to keep us updated and we have a weekly call. We've communicated via primarily Skype and Slack. We also use Asana as a project management tool. We used another platform that allows us to integrate tools we need to have access to. We're an agile shop which they fell right into line with. My entire team has access to them if needed. I’ve been satisfied with the communication.

What did you find most impressive about them?

They're very friendly and always willing to help. I really appreciate that. It has truly been a pleasure to work with them.

They also have over 90 developers available to them, which means they can meet the scope and scale we need. They’re able to be flexible and meet the terms we set, which helps us meet our business objectives.

Are there any areas they could improve?

We struggled to find an effective way to make payments. A number of options, like wire transfer or PayPal, have high fees. There were transfer limits with other potential services we looked into. We eventually found a way and they were patient with me, but it was a bit of a hassle.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

Implement a project management tool like Asana. I find it’s easier to communicate with someone who speaks another language via written text than it is over the phone. Also, when you’re working with overseas developers, you have to be an early-morning or late-night person to accommodate the time difference.

I’m the CEO of a marketing and SEO firm. Our services include Google AdWords management and animated video production.

What challenge were you trying to address with Techtic Solutions Inc?

We had too much work coming in and needed to outsource web development and design resources.

What was the scope of their involvement?

I speak with the client and go over their requirements, colors scheme, and design. Then, I send the information to Techtic and they start the design. Next, they send it back to me for approval and once the client approves the work, Techtic Solutions will build the site—whether with static HTML 5 or WordPress.

Techtic Solutions understands exactly what I’m looking for are and develops high-quality sites. Their code quality enhances our ability to provide SEO to end-clients. I can reach them at any time. If something’s wrong, the team is on top of the problem and provides a solution it in short order.

What challenge were you trying to address with Techtic Solutions Inc.?

We needed an SEO and web development partner to generate links for our small and mid-sized clients. The links needed to be quality and follow best practices.

What was the scope of their involvement?

Our clients always have control over the process. We pass their guidelines to Techtic Solutions and the team then does SEO, web design and development within those parameters. They don’t create customizations that the client can’t undo. For web development, we supply an outline and the team builds a site from scratch. We do some work in-house and use them for functionalities that exceed our capacity. These tasks include plug-ins and PPC.

What is the team composition?

I’ve worked with three or four people including the owner and project manager. My relationship with the owner is one-on-one.

When I started my company, I met three or four different companies in India. I hired two including Techtic Solutions, and the other agency didn’t do a great job. However, Techtic Solutions was always willing to work with us and prove themselves. They weren’t just after the money.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

Overall, they are helpful and cost a fraction of domestic vendors. The team knows what they’re doing and explains their progress at each step of the process. They’ve made mistakes, but fix them quickly. The PPC campaigns perform adequately, but PPC is not as lucrative as it was two years ago.

How did Techtic Solutions Inc. perform from a project management standpoint?

Weekly reporting is always on time, but they let us know about any delays ahead of time.

What did you find most impressive about them?

The team is very fair and takes ownership of sub-par service all the way up the chain. That accountability is unique.

Are there any areas they could improve?

I always want the best. It would be great if the team was more proactive with keyword strategy to demonstrate value to the client.

Any advice for potential customers?

Clients should manage their process when working with offshore partners. Techtic Solutions does a good job from a localized and colloquial perspective, but the language and cultural differences require our active participation in optimization efforts. Fortunately, the team is humble and passionate about the partnership.

My company built an app that provides delivery solutions to consumers. I’m the founder and owner.

What challenge were you trying to address with Techtic Solutions?

I needed a development team to help with the flow and technical enhancements of the app.

What was the scope of their involvement?

The app has a bid system embedded in it to solve delivery problems for shoppers. There is a very limited reach for delivery; usually packages come to a shopper’s house at a random time. The app allows users to choose where and how they receive the products they purchase.

I did a lot of the architecture myself, but Techtic oversees the technical aspects, including APIs, shortcuts, and the best plugins and options that fit the app. They helped with development and design for iOS and Android devices.

They had a good process and came up with different technology options. They took my ideas and made suggestions for improvements. They were very good guides throughout the project.

They have a project manager and two development teams for iOS and Android. I mostly spoke with the project manager, the owner, and the lead developer for each team.

I met with a small marketing company that recommended Techtic. I presented a project to them and the owner gave me confidence to use them. We developed a very good partnership.

We worked together on the first version December 2017–April 2018. I’m doing an upgrade now and am working with them on the follow-up project. I really value their service and am happy to work with them again.

People are satisfied with the improvements we’re making. The functionality is good and the enhancements give the app more potential.

I’m pleased with everything they provide. The bulk of our conversations were by email. We occasionally spoke on the phone or via Skype and I met with them once in person.

I’m very pleased with them overall. They always showed good intent. They are trustworthy and have a good understanding of the technological tools available. They brought good, new ideas to the project and were a great vendor.

The only difficult thing was the time difference. That’s not a critique of their work, and it only got in the way occasionally.

I’m the co-founder and CEO of Widelinked, a freelance marketplace for the engineering, construction, and manufacturing spaces.

What challenge were you trying to address with Techtic Solutions Inc?

My partner and I are mechanical engineers in Saudi Arabia. We came up with the idea 11 months ago, but the cost of hiring domestically was too expensive. As a result, we needed an offshore vendor that could deliver stable and high-quality coding. The platform needed to let our team review documents, certifications, and experience to ensure users’ qualifications.

What was the scope of their involvement?

We provided Techtic Solutions with the entire scope, which included wireframes and documentation for creating contracts and submitting proposals. The team then designed and coded the entire platform using Laravel PHP. However, they are one of multiple vendors working on the project.

Currently, the team is completing and implementing payment modules after that vendor had switched its API. We expect to be online by September 2018. The team will then provide support for one year.

I found two companies online and reached out to inquire about their past work. Techtic Solutions Inc was responsive and handled our requirements with tact; they sent a full list of project details within 48 hours. We chose them because of that impressive response.

We started working together in October 2017 and the project is ongoing.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

The code reviews received positive feedback, especially on the API side. In addition, we onboarded an engineer from Australia, who praised the platform’s utility for construction engineers because it gives them the option between working on site or remotely. We also onboarded select users. They rated it 8.5/10, with some stating their preference for a keyboard over a mouse. We’re making small changes like that, but the overall process is strong and stable. Loading times are the only significant issue, but that’s related to using Laravel PHP. We’re still optimizing page load times.

How did Techtic Solutions perform from a project management standpoint?

I send them task lists and time frames, and they gave me feedback on whether those are feasible. Since I didn’t have the right background to project manage this engagement, I’ve had to add items to the initial scope and estimate scheduling.

The team updates me daily on in-progress and completed items. I check those, take screenshots, and let them know if I find any mistakes or issues. We have conference calls on Fridays using Skype. I share my screen with them in order to point out issues. For the last two months, we’ve done video calls, which are useful. The team responds quickly and find alternatives in a timely manner. handle issues very fast, and they came up with alternative solutions to complete the work on time. For example, without the payment module issue, the release should have been July 2018, but we’ve only had to push it back to September.

What did you find most impressive about them?

The team creates beautiful designs. I’m happy with their out-of-the-box thinking.

Are there any areas they could improve?

The initial graphic designs weren’t what we expected, but the team resolved the issue by assigning a new resource. The miscommunication may have resulted from cultural differences.

Do you have any advice for future clients of theirs?

Clients should prepare complete and professional documents in a simple and clear format. Guidelines should be highly specific as well.

We are a software development company that funds developers who have great ideas for mobile apps on iOS and Android, but do not necessarily have the technology skill set or capital to get started. Our company also provides the developers with mobile and web platforms. I’m the CEO.

What challenge were you trying to address with Techtic Solutions?

The team works with us as an offshore app development partner.

What was the scope of their involvement?

They do coding for our iOS and Android platforms. They write Android apps in Java and iOS apps in C code, Objective-C, or SWIFT. We develop the apps on the native software development kits provided by Apple and Google. Many apps integrate cloud serving technology using PHP. We build most of our websites using HTML 5 or consumer-friendly templates like WordPress.

The team also does design work. Their design team storyboards concepts and coordinates with our in-house design team as part of the coding process.

What is the team dynamic?

We work with a 4-5 person team with different leads that meet us in New York to discuss projects and our growth trajectory. We use Skype, email, messenger, and telephone calls to communicate.

I was approached by a representative from the company who proved to be a persistent businessman. I gave them a chance with a series of small tests on different mobile app projects. Our partnership took off from there.

One of our clients loves the app they created for him. The app monitors drivers’ performance and generates scores based on responsible and risky behavior. Due to the company’s work, the developer is currently cutting many interesting deals with insurance companies.

How did Techtic Solutions perform from a project management standpoint?

They are the best I've come across. I received updates everyday on project completions, progress reports, and testing dates. Their follow up is much better than other companies that tend to disappear after a few months.

What did you find most impressive about them?

This company could catapult one of our developers to stardom; they’re that talented. Their customer service has exceeded my expectations. They regularly offer alternative development approaches without any upcharge and still deliver the best product possible. As an entrepreneur, it makes sense for me to use them.

Advice for potential customers?

Do not hesitate to move forward with them when they say they can deliver. There’s absolutely no reason to waiver.

I was trying to find good developers.

What was the scope of their involvement?

They built several websites for me in both WordPress and Drupal. They also provided me with dedicated resources who have built iOS and Android mobile apps, which are both native and cross-platform. We are constantly bringing on new projects and some of them are always in maintenance mode. 

What is the team dynamic?

I have 4–5 guys from their team working full time for me. It’s sometimes less depending on the project.

My friend, who owns another creative firm, recommended them. He should have told me about them years ago. I reached out to him after being frustrated with so many different offshore teams that I’ve used from all over the world.

My clients don’t interface with them and so don’t give feedback about them. The feedback we get is for our work as a company, and my clients are always happy with that. 

How did Techtic perform from a project management standpoint?

They’re great. I receive daily progress reports of what’s been done and what’s not been done. I can track the progress. Their project managers are on top of it. We communicate via Skype, Asana, and Google Hangouts. 

What did you find most impressive about them?

They’re a very good team and are easy to work with. They helped me to grow my business as I’m able to count on them. I worked with several other companies before, some of which said they could do something, but would then drop the project because they couldn’t. 

I can trust them. I'm able to bid on any project, of any size, and be confident in the knowledge that they can deliver it. We’ve built some large, complicated projects and they haven’t missed a deadline. They’re extremely dedicated. If I need them to work over the weekend, they’re willing to do that. Having a team that you can trust and know that they’re going to deliver is the most important thing to me. 

Are there any areas they could improve?

I would like them to work the same time that I’m awake. I’ve worked with another company that would have some resources work during our business hours, or give me more time during the day, so if there’s anything I need, it can be addressed. 

At this point, once I provide information and direction, they usually get the work done, but having them working during our hours would be extremely valuable. Sometimes I’m up at 2:00 or 3:00 am, and then I have to do a full day here at the office where I don’t leave until 11:00 pm. It’s taxing, especially when we have major projects. 

Do you have any advice for people considering working with Techtic?

They are the real deal. You can have confidence knowing they will get the job done and that they are honest and straightforward. You should give them a chance with any project and see how it goes. You won’t be disappointed.
