Please describe your company and your position there.
I`m CEO of sensor and meters manufacturing enterprise - Zavod Flometr. Zavod Flometer produces fuel flow meters and fuel level sensors for automotive and industrial applications. The plant's capacity for the production of sensors is 100 thousand sensors per year.
For what projects/services did your company hire Technoton Engineering, and what were your goals?
We always think about processes automation at our plant to raise the quality and efficiency of our team. Our manufacturing is quite specific and targeted to applications where quality plays an important role. We didn`t manage to find off-the-shelf branded technological equipment and after some research decided to develop our own solutions.
How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?
We searched on the CIS market for a long-term partner with expertise in hardware products design-for-manufacturing, certification procedures, experience in sensors and meters design. We were lucky to find Technoton Engineering.
Describe the scope of work in detail, including the project steps, key deliverables, and technologies used.
The first step we did was that Technoton Engineering analyzed our manufacturing process and we figured out what kind of equipment was necessary. After that, we prepared a road map with key deliverables, estimated time for every step and a financial plan.
The technological equipment we required was very nice and with a help of Technoton Engineering CEO and Founder, we managed to reach a goal of a perfect balance between price, technology, and efficiency. Since 2015 Technoton Engineering has developed for us a stand for checking interfaces, meter calibration station, calibration tools for sensors, software for product serial numbers generation and storage.
How many people from the vendor's team worked with you, and what were their positions?
I work with CEO and Founder under question about long-term planning. Once a week we have an online meeting with our project manager. Also, I`m in contact with some engineers when we integrate new tools and equipment. Their certification specialists help us to solve all issues which are required for the manufacturer of precise measuring tools.
Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?
We`ve saved a lot on labour cost and we`ve increased product quality gradually.
Describe their project management style, including communication tools and timeliness.
We had online meetings once a week with their project manager. And we had a clear vision and understanding of the whole development process.
What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?
The most impressive is that the managers give always a piece of advice regarding how not to invent the wheel and how to make new technologies for our plant.
Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?
It`s not about them but due to the coronavirus, some parts suppliers postponed delivery. I can`t even imagine where they should grow.
