The talent we were able to join our team from Framework Science was the first and foremost measurable outcome. Following that, it's the longevity of the team members that we found through Framework Science that are still with us and continue to be part of our company's success.

Framework Science team members were always responsive and on top of everything. They were always sure to communicate what was needed from us and to ask the right questions to ensure we were all aligned on what was and was not needed. When we would get talent that wasn't the exact fit we were looking for, they were quick to communicate with us so we can re-evaluate the need to ensure that perfect fit was found. Deliverables were always on time. They followed our pace and wouldn't rush anything.

I’m an executive at a patient engagement and communication platform. We create software that covers online appointment scheduling, telehealth, reminders, and other services.

What challenge were you trying to address with Framework Science?
We hired to augment our development and QA teams to help build our software and maintain a certain level of quality with the releases we push out.
SOLUTION
What was the scope of their involvement?
Framework Science provides us with staff augmentation. They primarily help us with web development and QA using technologies like React, AngularJS, PHP, MySQL, Python, and a few other programming languages.
We had an existing platform built in-house, and Framework Science’s resources have been integrated into our internal development teams to continue building that platform. Our platform’s core features include video-based telemedicine, appointment scheduling, reminders, and digital paperwork.
Additionally, Framework Science has provided us with UI design and DevOps resources that help with our technology infrastructure. We also have technical support agents and implementation teammates.
What is the team composition?
The team composition has changed throughout our engagement with Framework Science. My team has two QA engineers, two software engineers, a UI designer, and one DevOps resource. I’m unsure how many teammates are on the support and implementation team.
How did you come to work with Framework Science?
Our former CTO had engaged with Framework Science at a previous company, and that’s how we were introduced to them.
What is the status of this engagement?
We started working with them in April 2021, and the engagement is ongoing.
RESULTS & FEEDBACK
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
Framework Science has been easy to work with. We've embedded them into our internal team, and we evaluate each role separately. Therefore, we measure success against our existing team to see how well Framework Science's resources fit in from an augmentation standpoint. From a development point of view, we look at things like sprint velocity and effort completed. On the QA side, we look at similar metrics regarding the quality and the amount of work completed.
How did Framework Science perform from a project management standpoint?
They've done pretty well regarding project management. We've had some really great cases and also struggled with some resources. Framework Science has taken on the coaching and resolution when we've run into issues. Since then, we've seen a great turnaround from a project management perspective.
They've delivered all the requested work on time and within the budget. We typically communicate through email. However, we schedule phone calls or video conferences as needed. Framework Science is usually very responsive to any communication we send them. As for project management tools, we initially used Trello, and we now use Jira and Salesforce.
What did you find most impressive about them?
Framework Science is very flexible in their approach. They've adopted many of our hiring processes and rolled them into their own internal process, which has pulled much of that effort off our team. For example, we typically go through a three-stage interview process when hiring a developer; we do an initial screening, a more in-depth technical interview, and a final interview with the team. Since engaging with Framework science, they've taken care of the first two pieces for us, so our team only has to go through the final interview before onboarding a candidate.
Are there any areas they could improve?
Initially, we didn't have a good hire rate because they weren't as stringent with their vetting of applicants early on. However, we've addressed this issue with them, they've changed their processes, and we've seen better results since then. This change has also come with my taking over as CTO in July 2022.
Do you have any advice for potential customers?
The best advice I could give is to have clear and concise requirements and communication, especially as it applies to new positions, job descriptions, and candidate requirements. If there's vagueness, you'll go through more trial and error in the hiring process before you find what you're looking for. The more specific you are, the easier it will be for Framework Science to find a qualified candidate that matches what you're looking for.

I am the director of engineering at Parsable. We are a global SaaS company and provide products that are focused on enabling manufacturers to have better insights into their processes and assembly lines.

What challenge were you trying to address with Framework Science?
We needed software developers to help us maintain our current platform and evolve it towards more modern technology stacks to provide new features to our customers. Our customers are constantly asking for new features that are not currently supported, and Framework Science provides a team of engineers that help us build some of those features.
SOLUTION
What was the scope of their involvement?
We’ve worked on different projects over the years with Framework Science, and they provide us with different developers based on our needs. We work with developers that have expertise in Go, React, Objective-C, and Swift. They also provide us with a QA team that helps us build test coverage to make sure what we’re releasing is safe.
What is the team composition?
Our current team is made up of 12 people. We have a team of software developers and QA engineers. We also work with their management team.
How did you come to work with Framework Science?
We’ve had a contract with Framework Science since I joined the company.
How much have you invested with them?
We’ve invested more than $1 million so far.

We began working with them in September 2017, and it is ongoing.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
The engineers from Framework Science track very well on hitting our target metrics for the end of every quarter. In terms of the accuracy of scoping and delivery of the work, they are very reliable. We expect them to log time and tickets, and we have a specific metric for every quarter that they always hit.
How did Framework Science perform from a project management standpoint?
The developers from Framework Science interface directly with our staff, and work closely with our product and design team. They are consistent in their delivery, reliable, smart, and they understand the technology.
We also work with the management team from Framework Science to find suitable candidates to staff our projects, and they have a good system for screening and finding people qualified to do the work.
We’ve never had any issues with people not being qualified or capable enough to do the work, and this is something that we have encountered with other vendors.
Slack is our primary mode of communication, and we have regular Zoom calls and daily stand-up meetings. We use Jira for tracking work and progress on projects, and Confluence for documentation.
What did you find most impressive about them?
They're very capable, reliable, and communicative. Over the years we have come to rely on Framework Science, and certain members of their staff have become invaluable to our teams. Some of them have so much domain knowledge of our product that we would struggle to get by without them.
They also have the ability to fill positions very quickly, especially when we’re on a deadline. They usually manage to find the talent we need in a matter of weeks, and they do a great job of scaling up when we have bigger projects.

We sometimes have issues finding and keeping mobile developers from Framework Science.
