Creative Director on Trojan Condoms
For what projects/services did your company hire Team of Scientists?
I have hired Team of Scientist for different companies. One was for Trojan. The other was for Shocase, a digital site that gave credit to creatives in the Advertising and Marketing, and film business.
What were your goals for this project?
Trojan was a sponsor of a concert. We had to show Trojan was relevant to the crowds who went to the concert.
How did you select Team of Scientists?
Our producer had either seen their work or had worked with them before and put "Team of Scientists" on a list to consider. She was confident with their capabilities.
Describe the scope of their work in detail.
Team of Scientist has a large range of capabilities. They can film live performances and they can also work from scripts and can get the best out of actors. They can do most any kind of work. They are very dependable.
What was the team composition?
They are very collaborative. They have a team they pull from, so they have the best people for the job. Great Directors and Producers, and Camera men. All very professional.
Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?
The client was extremely happy with the work. The digital feedback awesome.
How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?
I love working with their team because of how collaborative they are. They bring a lot to the table.
What did you find most impressive about this company?
What impressed me? We had a live event that had many concerts performing all at one time. and we needed to film the events in an exciting way connecting the event with Trojan. Ryan Stober was absolutely incredible. I will never forget saying. "Ryan it sure would be great to get some footage on that particular stage" and Ryan being a Director/Cameraman himself jumped up and said "I will get it." with zero hesitation. I was blown away.
The next thing I see is Ryan up on stage with camera over his shoulder. The band loved it. The crowd loved it. and it made the film so much better. The only Director I have ever worked with who had that kind of extreme lack of fear and true love of creativity was Tony Kaye.
Are there any areas for improvement?
I was totally happy with their abilities. I saw no weaknesses that needed improvement.

I bring over thirty years of experience as a business builder with a keen eye on efficient production management, creative development, interdisciplinary cooperation and consensus building.
Think Fink was founded in 2005 as a producer of high-end corporate communications solutions. I've worked with a team of long-time associates, creating effective events, and media designed for a wide range of audiences.
For what projects/services did your company hire Team of Scientists?
Over the many years we’ve known each other, Ryan and I have collaborated on many different types of projects, with him producing, create, edit, and so on. Now the world is filled with video creators, but not with guys like him who are that great to collaborate with and bring so much more to the table. His deep understanding, his 20+ years of his experience, and his one-of-a-kind skillset.
What were your goals for this project?
Depends on project, as we’ve done a handful together.
Describe the video(s) and the process in detail.
For several years, I brought Ryan and his team on board to help create video content for a major financial services company during the holiday season.
Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?
The client must’ve been happy, as they kept bringing us back year after year. So I’d consider that positive feedback.
It’s just rare that you get that combination of ingredients in one person, and that gives him a really unique, creative vision. He completely understands every single step in the whole process. From the time he first sits down to read the script, all the way to post-delivery, he’s not just shooting for what looks good to the camera – he’s shooting with an extremely specific vision and use in mind.
You’ll find plenty of guys who can shoot and edit their own footage, but what is very uncommon is the much higher level Ryan operates at. And his design aesthetic and his own perspective that’s very in-demand. He knows exactly how he’s going to execute every aspect, whether it’s the graphics or the editorial techniques, so he creates with a very clear understanding of how everything will come together.
What did you find most impressive about this company?
Excellent modern design aesthetic, unique combination of production and post-production skills, and his easiness to work with. He can talk to or connect with everyone involved.
Are there any areas for improvement?
If he would have the ability to expand his business a little that he would have additional editors available to do some of the assembly work, so that he's got more time to focus on the bigger picture, more high-end work.

For what projects/services did your company hire Team of Scientists?
Team of Scientists has been my go-to since the first project we did about 6 years ago. We’ve done various corporate videos, recruiting campaigns, commercials, things like that. I generally like to bring him on in the early stage of a project to discuss the idea we have and get some of his input on the creative side, because I love getting his feedback to shape what we’re doing and how we’re doing it.
I just trust him as a director, and also as a professional whose experience and attention to detail are irreplaceable. He pays close attention to how all the puzzle pieces will come together and gets done whatever he says he’s going to get done. He’s just really on top of his game.
What were your goals for this project?
We’ve worked on several projects and continue to work together.
Describe the video(s) and the process in detail.
One of our first projects was an NFL commercial with former legend-like players. Because of scheduling and other logistics, we had to shoot under circumstances with tons of uncertainty, so many aspects up in the air until the day before. And Ryan was just really able to roll with the situation. He worked well within all the uncertainty and chaos that can happen in video production, and still minimized risk.
Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?
Ryan is a dependable professional who sets the bar high – he comes in and brings that level of professionalism that pushes us all to get a great product. He always pulls out all the stops. He’s always thinking of the final deliverable and how to make it the best it can be.
And his experience is key – he has done so many different projects so many times that he knows where all the pitfalls are! He just comes in, bringing that quality of awareness and knowledge, making sure it’s gonna look great and work, so I don’t have to be that.
How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?
He helps me sleep better at night because he’s a perfectionist who’s sort of appropriately paranoid. There’s always a lot of issues, a lot of things happening at once that I have to think through and deal with, because I’m ultimately responsible for most of these creative projects.
So for someone like me, Ryan relieves a lot of the typical stresses and responsibilities involved in video production. He makes me not have to worry, because I know he is thinking through all those same details. He’s always thinking ahead about the end product and making sure it will be the best it can be.
What did you find most impressive about this company?
Again, he’s dependable in that he always delivers. He’s a very strong director, an experienced editor with a sharp sense of timing, and has a top crew of people. And he’ll always stretch himself to adapt to your needs and the client’s. Just brings everything to the table.
Are there any areas for improvement?
Can’t think of any.

- Diverse and eclectic background that lends to an undying desire to tackle production and business challenges with strategic insight.
- Multi-tasking master.
For what projects/services did your company hire Team of Scientists?
Ryan and I go back 11 years. I’ve turned to Ryan and his team for a lot of projects. He’s helped us as a director, editor, and a producer. He’s done short promo videos, short-form storytelling, documentary-style videos, original content with artists, interviews, a music video, red-carpet, branded content, etc.
How did you select Team of Scientists?
I’ve known Ryan since he was a staff editor at an agency, long before he started Team Of Scientists. We never really had a gap in working together. His loyalty is unparalleled to his clients.
Describe the video(s) and the process in detail.
I can’t count the number of projects we’ve done together. The largest project was probably a music video that had a limited budget, a pilot episode of a program. But that did not compromise quality whatsoever. As my co-producer and co-director, he was a stand-out partner, and everything in the process was crystal clear, as usual. And we even managed to stay creative within a limited budget.
Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?
Since we’ve worked on so many projects together, it’s all been generally great feedback.
How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?
I plan to continue turning to Ryan because he always helps me meet those impossible, unrealistic deadlines
What did you find most impressive about this company?
The strongest quality is that he really cares about the work that he does for his clients.
The second would be his efficiency. He’s fast, but cares about the work. He has a great balance. That’s a real saving grace because some people can either be slow because they’re too precious or just not that competent. In this day and age, with deadlines and turnover, what Ryan has is hard to come by.
Third, I’d say his creativity. Because he does all aspects of production, he really understands how to talk to another editor, director, or producer, because he knows how to do all of those things.
That is not always the case with someone who owns a production company. A lot of times, they’ve just done one thing. Ryan has done all aspects of it, so he knows how to work with everyone.
Are there any areas for improvement?
If I had to pick something, I’d say sometimes he might come across as quiet and maybe slightly stoic if you don’t know him. I know that’s not the case because I know him so well, and I have that shorthand with him.

I’m a highly skilled producer specializing in integrated content for entertainment, advertising and live events.
Rauxa is the full-service agency that is rooted in data, enabled by technology, inspired to create and orchestrated to perform for Verizon, Alaska Airlines, Chase, TGI Fridays, and more than 20 other leading brands.
Founded in 1999 and with a uniquely independent spirit, Rauxa is powered by a team of over 300 creators, technologists, scientists and practitioners with locations in New York, Los Angeles, San Francisco, Seattle, Orange County and Dallas. Rauxa is part of Publicis Media, one of four solution hubs within Publicis Groupe.
For what projects/services did your company hire Team of Scientists?
I’ve worked on a variety of productions over the years with Team of Scientists, testimonials, scripted shoots, editorial, some animation. Mainly, I go to Ryan for his incredible directorial talent, especially when I need more creative lifting, more honing in on a story, or bringing the best captures out of non-actors, because he does a lot of magic there.
When I need a stronger storyteller with a sharper mindset from their editing experience, which I’ve found really makes a huge difference.
What were your goals for this project?
The most recent project we worked on together was a shoot for a major telecom company. That particular production demanded a lot of expertise, a calm demeanor, and the ability to come in and run the show. Ryan did that for us again. The direct client feedback was that it was fantastic, and that the creative was great. That amazing feedback just boiled down to our choice of Ryan, and we knew we had definitely picked the right partner.
Describe the video(s) and the process in detail.
On that project, I needed an experienced director who could craft the story better for us, someone who I could throw a dart at and trust them to handle things.
We’d done all our work, and I needed someone who could say, “Well, this is how you can shoot that section, these are the ways you can do the set, this is how you make that – and then on top of that, I understand that these are the main questions and story direction, but here’s how you’d set up the flow and sequence from an edit point-of-view, and you need such and such moments to carry it.”
So Ryan just came in and really filled in all the holes and molded the story and its execution into something that much better. It’s with talents like Ryan who have real craft and brains, that you can access bigger ideas and greater solutions, because he really knows it’s not about cutting corners. It's about being able to think smart on your feet, and staying focused, and being openly creative.
Production partners you can trust to handle things with your eyes closed are few and far between, but Team of Scientists is definitely one of them. He’s someone I go to for his broad skillset, intelligence, and care.
What was your vendors' project management or feedback process?
Every time we work with Ryan and his team, the process is efficient and they work very well.
Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?
I think Ryan’s years and years of editing experience is part of what allows him to think in whole pieces, see the bigger picture, and really uses his great instinct, his sense, to get great things out of everything and everyone.
He’s a top-notch director and a top-notch leader who will control a room, while still communicating in a way that makes everyone comfortable with his thoughtful and respectful demeanor – and still makes a set fun with his personality. He’s also an incredibly talented post supervisor.
How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?
Ryan has an incredible sense and great instinct. He’s also an attentive human, and I think that comes off in his work and how he approaches and does the work. And the way he thinks of creative projects, from start to finish, is outstanding, and he balances the execution and creative extremely well.
He will drive you to get more of what you want out of something, always adding more to what you have and helping you get there through his understanding and experience.
What did you find most impressive about this company?
I work with production partners like Ryan who will not only catch potential issues early on, but also come up with a plan to fix it before it gets detrimental. A lot in production can be about recognizing the reality of every situation and gaining the best out of it, and that’s where Ryan shines. He reads a room and cares about all the little things that can add up and affect the whole end result.
That’s why I can trust him to handle situations with ease – he senses when not to press a storyline that’s not working, when to give space to a talent who’s getting flustered, when to change a setting, etc.
It’s little details like that that matter and can even end up making or breaking your project – and Ryan notices, cares about them and understands how to approach them. Through his mindset, toolset, personality, and adaptability, he knows how to get the best out of everyone every step of the way.
Are there any areas for improvement?
Ryan is a very known, “unknown” entity. He’s an incredibly talented director, but he's also an incredibly talented post supervisor, and puts together great projects, and he's a creative and he's a company, and that whole breadth of his work over 15, 20 years is not easily searchable right now.
My feedback would be to keep doing what he’s doing, but to get his digital presence up, because when you search for him online, you don’t see the level at which he operates and performs, which is at the level of a lot of the bigger production and post-production houses in terms of quality and execution.
There can be pretense in self-advertising and whatnot, but people and especially creatives or agencies want to click on you and find you.

I was an advertising agency producer at Publicis fir five years and hired a number of different production companies including Team of Scientists, The Mill, The Molecule and Radical Media to produce videos, print shoots and live broadcasts on behalf of brands like Nike, Kraft Foods, Delta and Microsoft.
For what projects/services did your company hire Team of Scientists?
We hired Team of Scientists to direct and post produce a series in videos for Microsoft. Ryan was able to oversee the project from ideation through post. He wrote treatments, developed storyboards, cast actors, edited our commercials and even oversaw color correction.
What were your goals for this project?
My goal was to package a few different commercials together to reduce the cost of the crew and equipment rentals. Ryan directed four spots in three days and the client was over the moon when they saw the finished spots.
How did you select Team of Scientists?
I had the pleasure of working on previous projects with Ryan and knew he worked well under pressure and that his rare combination of directorial experience and technical aptitude meant he would adapt to any challenge and succeed.
Describe the video(s) and the process in detail.
This was a traditional TV Commercial production the thing that was rare is that Ryan could see it through from beginning to end without having to outsource aspects of the production to expensive and time consuming vendor partners.
What was your vendors' project management or feedback process?
We did live reviews with Ryan presenting the work to our client.
Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?
The project was so successful Microsoft decided to localize one of the spots in other markets.
How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?
Team of Scientists is totally pro. I didn’t even realize we had a workflow. It was like everything came together organically and on schedule.
What did you find most impressive about this company?
Ryan is a dedicated creative leader and people manager. It is never only about his vision but about fostering collaboration between external amd internal teams.
Are there any areas for improvement?
I can’t think of any improvements. Everyone was very happy, from our film locations to crew to the client.

For what projects/services did your company hire Team of Scientists?
I have been tasked to incrementally increase scope, frequency and quickly scale video content firm-wide across all social and internal channels, including our recently launched rebranded, redesigned intranet, BaringsXchange.

As we continue to scale volume and types of video content, our goals continue to evolve as well; those include increased engagement with our current audience, new engagement with broader audience, social media growth, increased reach and impressions, and overall we must continue to raise the perception of our firm, world wide.
How did you select Team of Scientists?
I have worked with Ryan Stober for over a decade. When we began to evaluate the needs of our firm, the scope of work, and the objectives of our Comms department, it was an easy decision to select Team of Scientists.
The work speaks for itself, but better yet, they understand the client and are objectively able to collaborate and contribute to achieve the greatest result, even under challenging circumstances. They are unfailingly reliable, and most importantly, nice to work with.
Describe the scope of their work in detail.

I'm the Director of Production in the Partnership department for a live Sports and Entertainment company.
For what projects/services did your company hire Team of Scientists?
I've hired TOS for dozens of projects, ranging from small b-roll shoots, large scale live music production and a range of post production, from straight editing to more complex graphics and green screen keying.
What were your goals for this project?
The goal is always to make the most engaging content for our clients and customers on our digital platforms.
How did you select Team of Scientists?
They came recommended from a former co-worker. Seeing their reel and discussing prior experience revealed a strong creative eye as well, as a willingness to be flexible while navigating a constantly changing environment.
Describe the video(s) and the process in detail.
There have been many projects over the years and TOS has been supportive with problem solving solutions to production and budgets, and well as developing full creative treatments. As the executive producer, I bring the rough creative thoughts, along with any stipulations around location or access to talent, and TOS is responsible for outlining the execution.
What was your vendors' project management or feedback process?
Everyone on the TOS team is extremely helpful (and available all the time) whether its a production question or editing concern they're very solution oriented. There have been time where there are 3 rounds of notes and other times there are 1000, but TOS understands the complexities of a layered organization and works hard to accommodates, always
Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?
While I can't share any metric due to company policy, I can say that the we as a company and the clients we serve have been very pleased with the engagement of the content that TOS has produced..
How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?
While working on a project with TOS there is a constant stream of communication, whether email, text of phone calls the team is aways available is amazing about staying on schedule and delivering on time.
What did you find most impressive about this company?
As I mentioned before, big or small TOS is always engaged 100% in the project. I like that I don't have to be constantly asking for things, when a schedule is developed they are very proactive in assuring we're staying in course. TOS has the capabilities of a larger production house, but has the communication and feel of a small company.
