The company has been very good to work with over the last 13 years. I have only had three different programmers to work with over that time so turnover of staff has been low (a good thing). Without this software our business could not have grown.

Project management was sound although I must admit that I do the majority of the supervision of the programmers (I check with that person almost every day).

Introduce your business and what you do there.
I’m the managing director of a software development company in Germany. We develop our own ERP and POS systems for jewelers and watchmakers.
What challenge were you trying to address with TatvaSoft?
We have two main developers here in Germany, but we needed a bigger, outsourced team because we are in the middle of rolling out a completely new version of our software. We’re on more of the landscape side of Germany, and it is hard to find developers who will work in this region.
What was the scope of their involvement?
TatvaSoft is the second company we have worked with from India. When they started working with us, we wanted to meet them in-person, so we flew them over to work with our developers more closely for three months.
They supply an enormous team. We develop using Microsoft technologies, such as the .NET framework and the MS SQL Server. We also use Ionic 2 and 3 for the development of our mobile app. Developing native iOS and Android apps has been one opportunity that we only got when we outsourced the development.
What is the team composition?
Right now, we have 10 developers and one project manager. The testing is done by our team here.
How did you come to work with TatvaSoft?
When we got the full picture of the other company we were working with before and saw they'd never provide the result we wanted, we started Googling. If I remember correctly, I wrote to six companies in India, and TatvaSoft was the first to answer.
How much have you invested in them?
We are at nearly $300,000. It is quite a large investment.
What is the status of this engagement?
We began with them in January 2019. We are still working with them and plan to continue working with them.
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
We feel that we are much faster. With two developers, reprogramming our software wouldn’t have worked. With TatvaSoft, we are rolling things out, and we now have more than 200 customers using our full new version. When there is a bug or if something isn’t going really well, there is no question of fixing it; they will just do it, and this is the philosophy we want. The developers and the support background they offer are just super. Whenever we have an idea, they make it happen.
How did TatvaSoft perform from a project management standpoint?
It has been super nice. I only contact the project manager when I see something is not going well, and that is maybe twice a year. It is always a super fast response from our point of contact.
My colleague and I have day-to-day communication with the developers directly. We have daily meetings with them. We usually use GoToMeeting to communicate with them. Each week, we put new goals in Excel that they need to reach.
What did you find most impressive about them?
It is a pleasure to work with them.
Are there any areas they could improve?
When we need to hire new people, we ask for experienced developers because we don’t want to have to spend a lot of time explaining things. Of the 15 people we have worked with, there were two who weren’t that experienced and didn’t understand what they needed to do. This hasn't happened often, but sometimes, their resources are less experienced. Of course, they are also trying to get some experience, but then they should be more in the background. The more experienced people should be on top, as they understand the requirements and the needs, and they can help those with less experience.
Do you have any advice for potential customers?
Have open communication with them. If we see that something is not going the way we want it to, we just call them or send them an email and tell them honestly what we are thinking. We can see from the reaction we get that they really take it seriously, and they try to solve the situation directly.

TatvaSoft built a custom web application with a Microsoft SQL Server. They did front- and backend development and design. When patients come for health screenings, the app allows us to track and record all of their information, including their activity during their visit. Once they completed the app, they made modifications and worked on two other projects.

The project team is located offshore. Communication is restricted to specific hours during the day. Nevertheless, I do not see this an issue for this project. The team is responsive and proactively communicate project updates.

We focus on meeting our clients’ reinsurance needs, while assisting in setting the proper and fair retentions through treaty restructuring. We are keen to offer our established facility on need basis to support our clients in providing capacity on facultative business, as well as added value services. I am the IT Manager at Arab Re and I am in charge of all IT operations and projects.

The goal is to revamp old system from Windows application to web application with new technology and also to add more modules and reports as per new requirements.

The application comprises new modules which will allow us to manage business in new lines. It is web based and enables our staff to access it from any computer while maintaining high security measures. Our staff is happy with how flexible and practical the interface is and the interconnection with email messaging.
How was project management arranged and how effective was it?
They have multiple stakeholders at different levels for project management. The technical hierarchy and the financial hierarchy is separate, they have good co-ordination among them and this helps in saving time and reaching the right person to get things done.
