High-load Education Platform
The client had an education platform with over 600 integrated LTIs* for students and professors, initially developed in 2016. There were outdated coding practices and technologies, so we needed to update the architecture and optimize the platform’s performance.
ISSUES:
Technical:
- All components were rendered multiple times, and everything was sluggish because of this.
- The project’s components were static.
- Old & non-scalable architecture.
Organization:
- The former front-end devs had little experience with building/maintaining large-scale projects with dynamic components.
- The customer in-house team was not capable of releasing the project within planned deadlines.
- No tech lead in the team to plan development progress & resources.
User:
- The tests in the quiz supported only text and only the ABC format.
- Low efficiency of education without video lessons.
- Low loading speed, which impacted user engagement and resulted in multiple complaints.
TECHNOLOGIES USED:
Backend: PHP, Laravel, PostgreSQL, Elasticsearch, Docker, Azure, Amazon.
Frontend: React (18th version), React router 6, RTK, RTK, Query, Motion js, Chakra UI, Typescript, Jest.
SOLUTION:
- The senior developer was involved from the beginning to make code review and project audit.
- We also suggested team structure and provided the required developers so that project could be completed within the required timeline.
- Our team set up Agile practices and improved transparency of the delivery process helped customers & whole team to follow its progress and deliver on time.
- Managed to get rid of duplicate code and redundant dependencies, making the project’s size 3x lighter.
- Integrated an LTI (creating a certain project area that allowed displaying the project as an LTI and as a regular project).
- Built a system of the virtual scroll on React that allowed uploading questions and elements dynamically, in virtual DOM.
- Created a mechanism that allowed switching components if you logged in from the LTI.

Food Ordering Platform
Our team recently worked with a client who had a food ordering platform designed mainly for the workforce, with 1 meal from each order donated to Africa as a charity. The platform had served over 80,000 customers per month since its launch, but it was in need of updating due to outdated features and an outdated framework version. Our mission was to bring the platform up to date with modern front-end rails and take part in the web app redesign process.
The client needed to quickly update the front end and lacked internal resources for this work, and they wanted team players who could communicate with an international design and management team. We onboarded 2 frontend developers to their team and joined a dedicated Scrum team responsible for the redesign. Together with a UX/UI specialist, we worked through all the elements, ran A/B testing, and selected and implemented the best solution. We also updated the Angular version to Angular 10, which significantly increased the loading speed of the application. We improved testing processes and covered 85% of the app with unit tests, reducing the time spent on validation and manual testing.
As a result, we met all the deadlines and requirements of the client, and we also identified and addressed other issues that weren't immediately apparent. The optimized front-end loading resulted in an increase in orders conversion, and the front-end updates, quicker loading speed, and smoother interactions between screens all contributed to an increase in end-user satisfaction. The client was also able to secure an investment round of $70 million with the updated service. If you're facing similar challenges with your web development project, consider partnering with our team to access skilled developers and a flexible and cost-effective approach.

Online Travel Booking Web App
The client's project was an online booking website for premium travel experiences, offering hotel bookings and event ticket ordering to hundreds of thousands of European customers. The goal was to update the majority of the features with an outdated codebase and provide the client with an experienced development team they couldn't find elsewhere.
The project faced several issues, including a lack of A/B testing for UI/UX updates, poor UI/UX that impacted conversion, an old version of Angular that was about to expire, a long booking process that took more than 3 minutes, and a limited number of payment methods that also impacted conversion.
The client turned to our team to quickly expand their existing team with skilled manpower. Our front-end experts worked on improving the UX/UI, conducting A/B testing to determine the impact of changes on target indicators, and providing a detailed migration plan to switch the website from Angular to React, which provided a faster and more efficient user interface with less code. We also added additional payment methods for a more convenient payment experience.
As a result of our efforts, the existing team was supplemented with experienced coders, A/B testing was implemented and used for future updates, the event ticket booking section of the website was switched to React, the booking process was significantly shortened, and the conversion rate increased by up to 10%, leading to increased income for the company. The product owner also noted that interaction and communication within the team improved after the integration of our team, likely due to the careful matching of our employees to the product and industry. Technologies used in this project included PHP for the backend and React and Next.js for the frontend. If you're in need of experienced developers for your web development project, consider partnering with our team.

SaaS Platform for Bakery
In May 2022, Synapse Team was approached by CHQ, an Australian start-up looking to create a custom SaaS platform for bakery businesses to optimize business administration and make it easy for customers to find and book desserts for their events. The founder had previously worked in accounting and finance management before moving into retailing products for cake makers and saw an opportunity to create a platform that would help customers easily find bakeries in their location.
Synapse Team of four software developers, one UX/UI designer, one QA engineer, and one project manager set to work on the project, using technologies such as Node.js, ReactJS, Twilio, Stripe, AWS.
One of the main challenges for the team was to effectively replace the baking business's current quoting, order-taking, and payment processing systems with a user-friendly and attractive platform that emphasized the brand's image and was optimized for desktop and mobile devices. The team also needed to integrate Google Places API services to help customers find cake makers nearby and create a convenient messaging system to simplify communication between cake makers and customers.
Through their efforts, we were able to deliver a number of valuable solutions for CHQ. We developed a clear and simple quote system to send cake requests to bakers and a convenient messaging system to simplify communication between bakers and buyers. We also integrated G Maps APIs, allowing customers to see more cake makers and the possible delivery radius, and created convenient search filters to help customers quickly find what they were looking for.
Synapse Team was able to successfully create an eye-catching, intuitive, and secure SaaS platform for CHQ that allowed users to book desserts in a pair of clicks using only secure payments. The platform received positive feedback from both cake makers and customers and helped CHQ to establish itself as a trusted and reliable source for finding and booking desserts in Australia.

Synapse Team was approached by a company in the UK to develop a custom e-commerce solution that would allow users to offer products and services within one platform. This project presented a unique challenge, as it required the creation of a multi-vendor marketplace platform with no analogs in the UK or Europe. The platform needed to include B2C and C2C segments, and be attractive and user-friendly in order to increase user engagement and retention.
To meet these challenges, Synapse Team utilized a range of core technologies including PHP, React, Next.js, PostgreSQL, AWS, Elasticsearch, Redis, and Docker. The team consisted of 3 back-end developers, 3 front-end developers, 1 UX/UI designer, 2 QA engineers, and 1 project manager, and provided services including project discovery, front-end development, back-end development, UX/UI design, and online marketplace development.
The project began with the creation of a minimum viable product (MVP) in order to collect user feedback and improve the custom e-commerce solution. The final solution delivered by Synapse Team was a platform that combined all parts of the marketplace, including the Local, World, and Connect pages, and allowed for easy switching between them. The platform also included a convenient search function, the ability for users to find services by location, and a secure and reliable payment system.
In addition to these functionalities, Synapse Team also developed a minimalistic design for the custom e-commerce solution that was inviting and eye-pleasing. Overall, Synapse Team was able to deliver a custom e-commerce solution that met the business's needs and provided value to users.

Fitness Web Application
Synapse Team recently worked on a project for PTF company, a facility that helps clients train under individualized fitness programs. The aim of the project was to create a fitness progressive web application (PWA) to enable clients to follow these programs from home, as well as track their progress. The PWA needed to be fast-loading, reliable, and stable, and handle a large number of exercises, nutrition plans, and progress tracking data.
To deliver on these requirements, Synapse Team provided custom web app development services, including front-end and back-end development. The team consisted of a project manager, a UX/UI designer, two React developers, a PHP developer, and a QA engineer, and they used technologies such as React, PHP, AWS, and Gitlab.
The resulting PWA was a cross-platform solution that could be accessed from any device via a web browser, with an appealing design and intuitive functionality. It included a database of over 600 exercises, as well as detailed explanations and videos for each exercise, and a system for assigning personalized fitness programs and tracking progress. The PWA was optimized for performance, and received positive feedback from users, leading to further improvements in the solution.
