I hired SVAP to develop a new website and booking system software for my company. The goal was to give my website a better visual appeal with a better take on SEO outreach to my clients and the software was to facilitate the booking of my service.

I selected this vendor after seeing positive reviews on Clutch and Google. Only later to find out these reviews were manipulated and made by employees of the company.

SVAP was meant to deliver me a brand new website with working HTML and SEO values alongside a Python made booking software to facilitate booking my service. This was not delivered as they took my full payment ($9000 USD) and shut down all communications methods from me.

I was working with Gaurav (General Manager) and Ankit (Project Manager)

Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?

After completing 50% of the payment, I was delivered a prototype of what the website and software would look like, using photos and examples that did not have my company name or logo on them. I raised these issues with the company and they said these issues would be rectified for the next stage, once I paid the remaining balance of the project. I was lied to, once the payment was made, the company disappeared with my money.

I was in close contact with the team via Whatsapp, having regular meetings on Google Meet. They were very attentive and would always say they would deliver anything I asked for, which was a lie. They never rectified anything I asked and disappeared once I paid them and acted like nothing happened.

What I found most impressive about SVAP INFOTECH PVT. LTD. was how well they deceive their clients. They must be experts at doing this and most clients would probably never notice they are scammers.

I believe they should restructure their approach entireIy and be honest with their clients instead of scamming them.

SVAP performs well — it has been a pleasant experience. We’re working remotely, and I’ve never visited their office, but we communicate over email, WhatsApp, and phone calls.

What did you find most impressive about them?

This was my first time working with a company like SVAP, so I can’t compare them to others. However, they’ve delivered great results, and I’ve had a good experience. Ankit is reliable and responsive, and he knows what I need. They deliver on time, and they work very well.

SVAP was tasked with the develop a ride sharing mobile app for the Brazilian market.

How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?

I selected this vendor because they were titled as the "Top Mobile App developing Company of 2019" awarded by Clutch. They also had great Google ratings and 5.0 stars on Clutch.

The final deliverable consists of an Android and iOS application for the Driver and User versions as well as a Web Admin Panel.

I was assigned a sales rep, a project manager and a 'designer' who never spoke.

Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?

Since the beginning, SVAP would request payments even though the set milestones were not met. After pressuring us for payment on multiple occasions, we wrongfully sent them another payment, totaling USD$8,000. It has been 3 full months past the 'estimated' delivery time and SVAP has not provided us with anything and does not reply any messages or calls. The team simply pressured us into paying them, and then they vanished right after.

Quite frankly, it seems to me that this company's business model is to deliver another companies ready-made product whilst stalling with technical issues to make it seem like they are working. As we started to get suspicious, we got in contact with another company who, when we asked for a demo, they provided us with the EXACT same version of the app that SVAP had provided us as our own. Not only that, but when we later questioned SVAP about it, they lied to us and said that they were the original developers of the App.

We then contacted the other company who are indeed the original developers, they informed us that SVAP also had debts with them and so they switched off the service which consequently turned off our server and admin panel. In other words, since the server switched off, they realized they could not provide us with the promised deliverables and as a result, they cut all contact with us, ignoring emails, calls and any type of contact.

How great they are at deceiving.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

Responding, delivering and refunding clients for breaching contracts.

What challenge were you trying to address with SVAP INFOTECH PVT. LTD.?

We hired SVAP to develop our app.

What was the scope of their involvement?

The app was an online fantasy game. Right now, we only have the cricket game where people could select the 11 best players. The app offers a lot of contests and if users rank on top, they’d receive cash prizes ranging from $10–$50.

The team completed six milestones to finish our app. The first milestone was the design and creative phase where we decided what steps we should take for the project. The second milestone was all about figuring out if our design ideas were possible. Then, the third milestone was when we started developing the app. After that, the fourth milestone was all about going through a lot of reviews for both Android and iOS which allowed us to formulate changes on the app. 

Then, the fifth milestone was the feedback phase where we had a lot of back and forth with their developers to ensure that the changes we wanted were implemented on the app. The last milestone was the final stage where we agreed that the app was ready for the end-users. The last stage also involved a lot of testing to see if there were any technical errors on our app.

I only worked with one project manager and he coordinated everything. Our project manager gathered all the requirements and feedback and passed every information to their development team. His task also included handling the design and development process of the app.

We decided to partner with SVAP because they were ready to do everything to complete the requirements we had set.

We spent 900,000 INR (approximately $12,000 USD).

What is the status of this engagement?

We started the project in December 2020, and they completed it by March 2021.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement? 

SVAP did a great job in a short span of time, and we received good feedback from our users. External stakeholders mentioned that our app was done nicely and professionally. Moreover, they said our app was user-friendly even to those who were not tech-savvy. Most importantly, our users didn’t experience any lags when they used the app. 

SVAP delivered everything we required, and they were able to make the changes we requested. They were also helpful, and they quickly worked on our requirements. Overall, we had a very good working relationship. 

How did SVAP INFOTECH PVT. LTD. perform from a project management standpoint?

They did a good job of completing our app before the deadline. SVAP only had a little bit of room for improvement in the project management area; When I gave them my feedback, they immediately worked on it and figured how to do things seamlessly. 

We also appreciated the ease of communication during the engagement. They were able to understand my language, and they remained supportive during the process. 

What did you find most impressive about them?

The most important thing was SVAP's remarkable timeliness because we were working with other third parties during the engagement. Their timeliness allowed us to review the app before launching it. Additionally, SVAP made sure that there were no technical issues with our app. 

Are there any areas they could improve?

I didn’t like the design they did at first, and I suggested that they should think out of the box to create something great. After that, they did a pretty good job with the designs, and they worked on improving the look of our app.

Be clear about your requirements, and be open to using their expertise in your project. The team can do a good job, and they can also achieve the timeline you want to follow.

In our case, SVAP did everything to make our app live. In connection with that, we’re confident that the team can support you in your project.

I’m the CEO and co-founder of the company. We’re building a new social media app to help our clients find like-minded people nearby.

I hired them to build our social media app. We had complicated requirements because the app we were building was unlike any other social media solution out there.

What was the scope of their involvement?

SVAP has developed the app for us. It has 50–60 screens and is available for Android and iOS devices. The app gives users the ability to log in securely, without giving out phone numbers or other personal information. Within the app, users can find people based on their common interests, join groups, schedule events, and gossip.

We’re still working on making the app compliant with data laws. Our next goal is to have the app ready for the Founder IGNITE event in Singapore.

I’ve lived in Singapore for 7–8 years, but I’m originally from Jaipur, where SVAP is headquartered. I preferred working with someone from my hometown, in case I decided to open an office there. I also heard about some very good apps that SVAP developed, and they offered a good price.

We started working with SVAP around May 2020. The first module was finished in October–November 2020. We continued making enhancements, and the latest deliverable was in January 2021.

The app is live on both platforms, and it’s working well. We have had some bugs, but they’ve addressed all of them and have delivered the app on time. We’re not promoting it yet; however, a few people have already signed up and started looking through the app. We opened it to organic search for 15–20 minutes and got around six downloads per minute. 

How did SVAP Infotech Pvt. Ltd. perform from a project management standpoint?

We come from the same industry as SVAP, and they’re slightly better than market standards. I rate them 8.5–9 out of 10 for the type of work we give them.

The account management is very good. Alok makes sure everything is going well. He schedules meetings, sorts out any issues, and delivers everything on time. We prefer a simplistic style without the need for too many logins, so our team has asked SVAP to give us to-do lists and reports in PDF form.

What did you find most impressive about them?

What we appreciate is that SVAP has sorted everything out for us. We’ve had hiccups with the app, but that happens with all software. Also, their responsiveness is impressive. I can message them at any time, and they reply right away. Something on the app broke one time, but I messaged them, and they fixed it immediately.

Are there any areas they could improve?

The app we’re building needs more advanced levels of technology. SVAP should think about getting into blockchain or other technologies like that.

I don’t have any advice. I’ve already recommended them to my entrepreneur friends.

SVAP team has a dedicated sales personal who guided us through initial process, once we finalized our contract we were assigned our project manager who was frankly one of the best we have seen. His knowledge is what helped us deliver a quality product in the market.

Besides the sales rep and project manager, we also had few developers, and testers who didn't interact directly with us but were working on our project behind the scenes. We were lucky to also have SVAP CTO overlook our project in crunch situations as it demanded additional inputs to ensure we do not miss critical compliance pieces.

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

We had tight timelines to deliver a complex system, and it was delivered well within our timelines. Our portal has seen a huge growth attracting over 10000 users in less than 3 months and no marketing, it's all based on word of mouth.

We never saw issues with our system as you would expect from complex integrations, this is where experience matters. Overall we are in continuous development mode with SVAP based on their first deliverable.

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

The workflow between us and them was seamless, we were updated every step of the way with timelines and dates. In case of delays due to unknowns we were informed and communicated with overall impact.

What did you find most impressive about this company?

I was blown away with the experience, skill set and user flows we didn't even think through when we first designed our project. The team had the knowledge and guided us through out the lifecycle of the project.

The CTO was impressive in helping us build organization which is slowly making its mark in the market, they guided us not only from a development point of view but also on the business side of things, while our project manager delivered above and beyond with information we didn't think of before the start of the project.

Post delivery of the product usually companies will charge you for every ounce of support they provide but SVAP didn't bother us with that and continued to support as and when required ensuring customer satisfaction and making it the best user experience for our users.
