Shoppable Video Content
The Challenge
Morphe wanted to maximize their traffic (millions of visitors every month) and incorporate the broad reach of their social media influencers’ video content into their Shopify store. Their team asked Sunrise Integration to take their marketing videos and tutorials and make them shoppable on their website. This would make it even easier and more fun for customers to purchase their makeup products.
The Solution
Our mission was to implement seamless product integration into Morphe’s video content and subsequently display it on their Shopify store. With a dedicated video section on their website, customers enjoyed an enhanced, highly interactive experience with the Morphe brand and their influencers. This custom solution encouraged more sales and engagement to further solidify their reputation as an innovative brand. The Sunrise Integration team did the following: Developed a custom Shopify theme for the video landing page using Shopify blog engine with Morphe’s YouTube channel video content Built a feature to show shoppable time-stamped products alongside the videos Created video popup on scroll feature - videos continue playing while users scroll the landing page Maintained ADA compliance with video transcriptions Ensured the UI/UX of the video section is seamless with related video section to encourage more browsing and exposure to products
The Outcome
While Morphe had leveraged influencer marketing to massive success, they knew they could take it even further. Together we built a beautiful new gallery of influencer-powered video content that featured products which customers could buy directly from the video page. As a result, Morphe is able to offer their trendy customers an enhanced online store experience that stands out from the competition.

Building the First Intl Carrier App in Shopify
First Glance
A global leader in logistics and shipping, DHL was founded in 1969 and has grown to operate in over 220 countries and territories worldwide. Their longevity can be largely attributed to their constant pursuit of innovation and growth to better serve their customers. To that end, the team at DHL Express, the business unit which focuses on international shipping and courier delivery services, reached out to Sunrise Integration to help them enter the Shopify ecosystem. With their first Shopify app, they would be able to expand their reach and offer much needed shipping services to growing ecommerce businesses.
The Opportunity
DHL’s team wanted a robust feature set and more control that required building a custom app. With this app, their goal was to provide Shopify merchants an all-in-one carrier service. Merchants would be able to look up shipping rates, automatically show the shipping cost in their customers’ carts and create shipping labels and tracking IDs. Furthermore, the Sunrise Integration team built support for DHL’s label printers.
The Solution
Our team analyzed DHL’s existing apps in Magento, Volusion, and BigCommerce as well as the existing third party apps in Shopify. Using the knowledge and insights we gained during this process, we were able to determine what DHL Express needed for their Shopify app. The discovery process also consisted of a feature set review, API discovery to see what was doable and what wasn’t. Because Shopify did not support dimensional weight natively, we built a custom solution to address that as well.
The Outcome
When it was first released into the Shopify App Store, the DHL Express app quickly became popular eventually reaching 5,600 total installs. Being one of the first international carrier service apps in Shopify, it served as a demonstration for what carriers could achieve within the Shopify ecosystem.

Workflow Automation and App Integration
First Glance
With 44,000 employees worldwide selling 500 million tickets per year, Live Nation saw an opportunity to provide even more benefits to their workforce staffing their live events. By leveraging the Shopify Plus platform integrated with corporate Single Sign-On (SSO), their employees would be able to log into Shopify stores and purchase branded merchandise from Live Nation and the events they manage with their employee discount.
Shopify Plus recommended Sunrise Integration to Live Nation because of our team’s proven track record of solving large enterprise problems and our convenient proximity to Live Nation’s HQ in Los Angeles.
The Challenge - Integrating Single Sign-On with Multiple SaaS Applications
Live Nation has a significant footprint in ecommerce, operating hundreds of Shopify Plus stores to sell event related merchandise. As a business that constantly innovates and improves, their goal was to make it easy for their employees to make purchases directly on their Shopify Plus stores.
Live Nation makes use of several SaaS platforms to manage employee purchases including Shopify Plus, Okta and Workday (HR management system). Our team had to integrate all of these systems while ensuring the proper application of employee access and discounts.
The Solution - A Powerful Custom Middleware Tool for Automation
Sunrise Integration built a custom middleware tool to automate all the software they had in their technology stack. Furthermore, Live Nation’s Shopify Plus employee stores were modified to work with the different HR access requirements by event and department.
The Outcome
Thanks to their new custom middleware and integration, Live Nation has a streamlined behind-the-scenes process for employee purchases in their stores. This replaces a cumbersome process that required tedious manual work with an effective web-based solution for purchasing merchandise as an employee. Employees can now enjoy an easier, more enjoyable buying experience.

Shopify Startup Direct-to-Garment
The First Shopify App of its Kind
Teelaunch is a leading print-on-demand fulfillment company that serves Shopify merchants. Sunrise Integration partnered with teelaunch back in 2015 when the direct-to-garment (DTG) space was still growing. In fact, there were no DTG apps in the Shopify store at this point, and as a result, startup company teelaunch recognized a huge market opportunity.
We needed to figure out what their business model would look like in Shopify, build the platform and the technology that powered it as well as create a strategic long-term roadmap for their business. Our team did the following: Researched, developed and tested teelaunch’s app Managed their hosting and product Developed their admin section Built their market site (for non-Shopify clients that wanted to use teelaunch) Developed third-party integrations.
The Solution - Business Partners in Building a Massive Shopify App
Our team worked closely with teelaunch to:
- Identify their business objectives
- Complete a competitive analysis for a clear picture of the market
- Outline infrastructure requirements
- Build workflows for sophisticated logistical requirements
- Develop an on-demand supply chain for ease and simplicity
Throughout our relationship with teelaunch, we’ve utilized our creative problem solving skills to develop many different product iterations and improvements so they can better serve their customers and solidify their position in the marketplace.
The Outcome - A Successful Launch to Become One of the Top Apps on Shopify
Teelaunch was an instant hit in the Shopify App Store! Weeks after the launch, it exploded and became one of the top apps on the platform, gaining tens of thousands of customers and up to 20,000 app downloads per day. Fun fact: Shopify actually mentioned teelaunch in the keynote address at the Shopify Unite Conference in 2017. As it grew, we helped them pivot so they could scale sustainably and minimize the growing pains that startups often face.

Shopify App for International Shipping
First Glance
Pitney Bowes is a multibillion-dollar, 100-year old leading supplier of postage, shipping and international logistics services. Pitney Bowes acquired Borderfree, an company which helps US businesses sell and ship products to other countries. We recognized that Pitney Bowes and Borderfree could benefit from a custom order management system (OMS) app which would enable their clients to ship to customers around the world with more ease and efficiency.
The Challenge
An increasing number of Pitney's customers were asking for an installable app for their shopping cart platform of choice. We developed a partnership with Pitney to provide their own OMS that would be used by Shopify merchants across all industries. Before we partnered with Pitney Bowes and Borderfree, there was no solution that could move order data between their systems and Shopify in a seamless way. After several engagements, we standardized our app to meet that need and improve their workflows.
The Solution
Building a Powerful Custom OMS App After undergoing a thorough discovery process with Pitney Bowes’ team, we began building a custom Shopify OMS middleware for cross-border retail, called Global OMS. The Global OMS service automatically synchronizes order imports, product feed creation and shipment tracking notification between Shopify and Pitney Bowes and Borderfree. It is a scalable, end-to-end global ecommerce system that handles international enterprise retail. With it, Pitney Bowes and Borderfree are able to localize their domestic website for international consumers (currency and exchange rates, languages, country, prices), integrate cross border logistics, automatic synchronization and provide global customer service.
The Outcome
Adoption by Big Brands Global OMS is a multi-tenant SaaS application that’s being used by many high-profile Pitney Bowes clients on Shopify, such as Rebecca Minkoff, RevTown, Good American and Frame.

Magento to Shopify Migration
First Glance
Bombas is a socially conscious clothing brand that focuses on making comfortable, high-quality apparel. Their cornerstone product is socks, boasting seamless toe, ultra-soft cotton, and honeycomb arch support. For every item that is purchased, Bombas donates an item to the homeless community on the customer’s behalf. More than 40 million items have been donated to so far with that number growing every day. Bombas wanted to implement a large-scale data migration from Magento to Shopify Plus, which meant that they needed development experts on both platforms. They found our team through the Shopify Experts database (Sunrise Integration was one of the only development agencies that specialized in both Magento and Shopify at the time).
The Challenge
Keeping true to their creativity as a brand, Bombas was an early adopter of Shopify. However, this required several complex features to take their business to the next level. At the time, there weren’t as many options for customizations as there are in present day and as a result, our team called on our creative problem solving skills to build several custom solutions for their needs.
The Solution
Bombas required custom solutions to extend Shopify Plus’ capabilities at the time. Our team built the following: A virtual sku system to package and market the same SKUs differently to different customers Custom order status app service Connecting their inventory to 3PL (Amware) with a custom app
The Outcome
With these custom solutions built specifically for their needs, Bombas became one of the early success stories of Shopify. Their team was able to operate and scale their business to huge success with ease while doing away with the complexities of their previous platform and workflows.

“Sunrise Integration’s project management was excellent, and they were one of the best companies I worked with.”

the review
A Clutch analyst personally interviewed this client over the phone. Below is an edited transcript.
Introduce your business and what you do there.
I’m the director of digital marketing at Pinnacle Imaging Systems.
What challenge were you trying to address with Sunrise Integration?
We hired Sunrise Integration to do an integration between WordPress, Shopify, and a unique code generation app.
What was the scope of their involvement?
Sunrise Integration took our WordPress website and integrated it into Shopify so that we could sell our software online. The hardest part of this project was integrating our serial code generation app.
When a customer downloaded our software, we generated a serial code to unlock the software. This process was sitting on a separate server, but Sunrise Integration integrated it into our site. After that, Shopify notified the serial code generation app when a purchase was made, and the code generation app sent the email with the code to our customer.
What is the team composition?
We worked with about five people from Sunrise Integration, including the CEO, an account manager, and three different engineers.
How did you come to work with Sunrise Integration?
I can’t remember how I found them, but I believe it was through an internet search. We never hire a vendor without meeting them in person so that I can get a feel of their expertise. I remember that Sunrise Integration was very confident, had a great attitude, and took pride in their work.
What is the status of this engagement?
We started working together around three years ago, in 2018. We completed our last project together around July 2021, when we retired our software and made it free for download.
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
Ultimately, the integration worked well. Our clients could make purchases, download the software, and receive the serial code; that was the measure of success.
How did Sunrise Integration perform from a project management standpoint?
Sunrise Integration’s project management was excellent, and they were one of the best companies I worked with. They were always on time and communicated well, and they were a pleasure to work with. We communicated via email and phone calls.
What did you find most impressive about them?
Sunrise Integration’s attitude and confidence distinguished them from other providers. On top of that, they knew the technologies that we didn’t. They were great with PHP and all the other internet technologies, and they knew internet-based servers very well.
Are there any areas they could improve?
No. I couldn’t have asked for more.
Do you have any advice for potential customers?
Define the deliverables clearly. As long as you have good communication, you’ll be fine.

Please describe your company and your position there.
I am over operations at QuickFresh. We sell ready-made meals along with health and coaching services for our clients.
For what projects/services did your company hire Sunrise Integration, and what were your goals?
We implemented Shopify due to its ease of use but quickly ran into limitations with what we could do out-of-the-box in order to create the customer experience we wanted. Our goal was to customize Shopify to work with our meal subscription service.
How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?
We found this vendor after searching for partners we thought could be a good fit and had extensive experience in Shopify. Sunrise proved to be our top choice after working with a couple vendors and seeing how the quality of work and communication far exceeded the other vendor.
Describe the scope of work in detail, including the project steps, key deliverables, and technologies used.
We had in-depth period of project scope, followed by iterations to arrive at a final document for work to be implemented. Project manager was very communicative throughout the process and ensured we were apprised of work being done and knew what was pending on our end. Once project work commenced we had several ad-hoc meetings as well as weekly meetings. Ultimately they delivered a customized Shopify theme as well as custom scripting.
How many people from the vendor's team worked with you, and what were their positions?
We had around 6 individuals actively working with us including the CTO, Project manager, and developers.
Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?
We launched our site everything functioned smoothly. Any hiccups were quickly resolved which ensured a great customer experience.
Describe their project management style, including communication tools and timeliness.
Project manager was very communicative throughout the process and ensured we were apprised of work being done and knew what was pending on our end. Once project work commenced we had several ad-hoc meetings as well as weekly meetings. We received weekly PDFs outlining project status and deliverables.
What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?
We noticed that their communication style was very unique. They are extremely transparent about the specific tasks they are working on, where they are spending their time, and communication that steadily to us as the client.
Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?
One point of feedback could be revising project hours estimates part-way through projects to adjust for complexity or scope.

Please describe your company and your position there.
4moms® has transformed the baby gear industry by leveraging technology and user-centered design to create dramatically better products, like the 4moms mamaRoo®4 infant seat that replicates the bouncing and swaying motions parents make when soothing their babies. The company, founded in 2005 and based in Pittsburgh, Penn., currently sells its products at buybuy BABY, Amazon, Best Buy, Target, walmart.com, specialty retailers, and 4moms.com. I am the Digital Marketing and Ecommerce Manager.
For what projects/services did your company hire Sunrise Integration, and what were your goals?
We were in the process of launching a new website on a new platform (Shopify) and needed software to act as the middleware between our eCommerce store and our ERP. We had many technical requirements for the format in which our orders were transferred into our ERP, as well as for how tracking numbers and information were received back by the eCommerce platform.
How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?
We selected Sunrise for their clear understanding and experience of SAP, our ERP platform. They also displayed a thorough approach to planning and implementation.
Describe the scope of work in detail, including the project steps, key deliverables, and technologies used.
We started by mapping out all requirements, as well as looking at the old infrastructure to understand what elements could remain and what elements would need to be changed. From there, a project timeline with clear milestones was laid out.
The Sunrise team worked in sprints, meeting with us every other week to go over progress and ensure we stayed on schedule. The Sunrise Team also assisted with thorough testing and QA efforts, making any necessary changes.
How many people from the vendor's team worked with you, and what were their positions?
Our main point of contact, Stephanie, was the Project Manager who coordinated all meetings and communication. Alex was our lead developer...he had an answer for everything! Eduardo is another developer on their team who we have worked with for training and troubleshooting purposes.
Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?
We were able to launch on schedule. In addition, Sunrise has continued to help us make improvements to our internal processes post-launch.
Describe their project management style, including communication tools and timeliness.
The project management was great. They were thorough and timely.
What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?
Sunrise was able to work with our ERP consultant to solve pretty much any curveball we through in their direction. They found innovative solutions to pain points we've struggled with for years.
Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?
Everything turned out great, so I wouldn't change anything.

I am the owner of a wellness practice, consisting of Chiropractic, Acupuncture, Massage Therapy and Bodywork.
For what projects/services did your company hire Sunrise Integration?
Sunrise Integration was initially hired in 2016 to develop our website and update our branding. We also needed to allow for online patient booking on the website. After a few years, requirements for healthcare facilities changed, and Sunrise Integration helped to make our website ADA compliant.
How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?
We reached out to a few vendors, and Sunrise Integration seemed the most thorough. They were easy to work with, and made sure our website conveyed exactly how we wanted to present our business.
Describe the project in detail and walk through the stages of the project.
We started with branding to fine tune how we wanted our logo to look. Then they designed our website, and integrated a widget for our scheduling software. Along they way they helped with small changes to the website, like updating office hours, or staff changes.
This past year, healthcare requirements changed, so we updated the entire website to be ADA compliant. We also changed our scheduling software, and updated the website to reflect that.
How many resources from the vendor's team worked with you, and what were their positions?
I worked with 2 people, one for my logo and branding, and one to develop the website.
Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?
We get tons of bookings through our website. Without it our business wouldn't be as successful. I have even had a patient schedule with me because they liked our font.
How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?
Communicating with them is so easy. Its been 5 years since we have started working with them, and we always get prompt responses with whatever help we need.
What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?
