What were the measurable outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

We really liked the finished video's. We were able to compare them to video's from our competitors and other videos we previously had produced and these were the best. Super creative, current and we could tell Adam put a lot of time into making the end product the best it could be.

The 1-day shoot went well. We were in/out with minimal disruption to our retailers. The editing was fast. We had rough video's in our inbox within a week and final product ready to go by our deadline. The entire process was well within 4 weeks, including the RFP and initial meeting to final delivery.

Adam and his team at Spero brought our idea to life! Edo Japan was looking for a videography partner to help us create a unique video experience for our socials. Adam & team offered an outstanding storyboard to capture our corporate Chef, D., making sushi.

Our video performed extremely well on both Tiktok and Meta! We still have traction on the video today, even though it was posted almost a year ago now.

Interviews of key people and selection. Two full days live shoot at event location, plus three half days at a residential location. Full post production and several minor adjustments before final copy. Plenty of collaboration and brainstorming between client and video crew that helped to exceed the client's expectations.

What were the measurable outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

Very strong positive reviews with a viewers panel when seeing the video before the final cut. Our financial ask received immediate conversion, including one who gifted 100 times the ask! Studio Spero demonstrated their expertise in crafting a great story that was amplified by their post production skills. Also, very easy to work with and were always open to make changes at the client's request.

Studio Spero were very reliable at every stage of the project and produce each part of the process on time. They went the extra mile on several occasions to ensure we received a super product. They showed up on time for every appointment and did not tush the process. They're a very organized and consistent company.

We brought in Studio Spero to create video content for some of our major projects and events. We’ve collaborated with them to develop and publish content on our social media channels and for marketing purposes.

Their process involves, outlining our needs, developing interview questions, scriptwriting, storyboarding, and managing the post-production process.

The YouTube reels that they’ve produced have been performing better than our average content, so the team has been consistently meeting our expectations.

They perform well from a project management standpoint, so I have no complaints. We typically communicate through Google Meet, phone, text, and email, and they’re very responsive on all platforms.

There’s nothing they need to improve on, but they could maybe build a bigger clientele to increase their portfolio.

I’m the president of Fuse Digital, a digital marketing agency based in Calgary, Alberta, Canada.

What challenge were you trying to address with Studio Spero?

We had revamped the website of one of our clients, and we needed help with photography and video production for that project.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

Studio Spero provided photography and video production services for our client’s project, including product photography, drone footage filming, and a banner video production for their website. Additionally, they provided us with B-roll footage.

Their team managed the entire preproduction and postproduction tasks as well, so we didn’t have to worry about any part of the project. We simply provided them with our specifications regarding product photography and video production, and they handled the entire process. These tasks included storyboarding, video and photo editing, and audio mixing.

As for the location, Studio Spero used our client’s space, bringing their own equipment into their facilities to shoot the required photos and footage. Among the deliverables was a short introductory video for the website so that people knew about our client’s business.

What is the team composition?

We worked with Adam (Co-Founder) and Justin (Photographer) on site. However, I don’t know who else was working in the background.

How did you come to work with Studio Spero?

We usually prefer to work with local teams, so we hire local businesses for some of the creative work we need. We originally got referred to Studio Spero by a friend, and we got in touch with Adam. They were very pleasant to talk to right from the start, and Adam was very relatable and professional. After we saw their portfolio, we decided to start working with them.

How much have you invested with them?

We spent less than $5,000 CAD (approximately $3,700 USD).

What is the status of this engagement?

We worked together in August 2022. They completed the entire photography and video shoot in a single day, and they took one week for video editing and two weeks for photography editing.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement? 

Before this project, our client’s website had really old content with low-quality photos. Thanks to the simple work done by Studio Spero, the website revamp project was successful. Now, the new site looks very professional, and the client has received positive feedback from customers and business partners about the entire site. The work done by Studio Spero certainly contributed to the high quality of the new website.

How did Studio Spero perform from a project management standpoint?

Our client was very happy to see Studio Spero taking charge of everything because they didn’t have to worry about anything. Studio Spero came into their facilities and successfully did their job. They were very adaptable, worked very quickly, and got everything done on the time they promised, so we didn’t have any unpleasant surprises.

I also really enjoyed having Adam as my main point of contact for video production and Justin for photography because I always like communicating with one person at a time. Our communication was straightforward and to the point, and they constantly checked in to ensure that we were happy with their work. Overall, the communication and review processes were very good, and we were very happy with our engagement.

Studio Spero was in charge of the entire project management, so we didn’t use any project management tools. We simply used email for communication; everything else was in their hands.

What did you find most impressive about them?

Studio Spero was fun, pleasant, and enjoyable to work with, and the quality of their work was excellent, which was what we expected.

Are there any areas they could improve?

No. We were very happy with them, and we plan to work with them again on future projects.

Go through their portfolio and get in contact with them. They’re easy to communicate with, so you’ll have a good conversation where you can ask them questions before you get started.

I'm the Sales & Marketing Director with a passion for promoting our products to the construction industry because they help construction professionals save time, save money, and look good!

For what projects/services did your company hire Studio Spero, and what were your goals?

We recently refreshed our brand look and feel, and had a new website about to go live so we wanted to update our product photography as well as create a new video reel for the home page. Our goal was to make it look as industrial as possible, with heavy shadows and lighting to create drama on the scene.

SOLUTION

How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?

We searched for various video production companies in Calgary, and Studio Spero stood out for the following reasons: 

1. They responded quickly to our request and were positive about working with us - they actually wanted our business. 
2. The proposal was very fairly priced. 
3. They didn't spare anything when it came to the actual shoot, using a host of different methods and tools to ensure we got the results we were looking for. 
4. Super easy to deal with and work with - nothing is too much of an ask.

I had a pretty good idea of what we wanted before we connected, and then we had emails back and forth to finalize the schedule and storyboard for the actual day. They showed up on the planned day and shot all of the footage we wanted, and then I had the final video within a few days the following week.

We worked with Adam and Justin directly and they nailed it on the first try. If we had any feedback they would listen and adjust as needed.

The video reel is live on our new website along with the photos and we've used it throughout our new marketing materials both print and digital. The feedback has been great and helps to keep us at the front as the industry leader.

I have been watching Spero for years via social media and was very impressed by how they keep pushing their creativity in all the content they were producing. Month over month they were doing thing differently than the competitors.

Spero is very thorough in there process. We always start with a discovery call to understand the goals and objective of the clients content. We discuss roles and responsibilities and who the stakeholders are in the project. We then all work of a brief that defines all the scope details and deliverables. Once the content is complete, Spero will provide us with content we can provide feedback on before finals are produced.

We work with the founders of the company. The process is always thorough and well defined.

Because we have an ongoing retainer with Spero our clients comment on the cool creative approach to some of the content. They love the quality of the content and how it continues evolve over time.

Processes and the backbone of the company. They will not start a project if it is loosey goosey. Everything is well defined including timelines and milestones are always met throughout the projects. Currently communication is done via email or text which has been work fine.
