Axius Senior Benefits Solutions
Axius Senior Benefits Solutions wanted to create a brand new website to complement their new services.
Our first step was to decide what design we wanted for the project. Our team worked closely with Axius SBS team members to identify fonts, pictures, layouts and colors for the final website design.

I am the president of a company that provides self-storage facilities.
What challenge were you trying to address with STL Website Development?
Our website needed a refresh.
What was the scope of their involvement?
STL created a WordPress site for one of our facilities. We had an initial call to talk about our needs, and they then discussed how they would build the website. The team took a look at the site and enumerated all the changes they needed to make. They told us what information they needed from us, like photos of our facilities and copy. We also supplied them with some links that we wanted to have on the site.
The STL team then began the development process. They first created a draft for me to review and determine if they were in the right direction. We asked for a few changes, which they implemented, and we went back and forth until we were satisfied with everything. Its core feature is the ability for our users to pay their monthly fees for their storage units. New customers can also rent a self-storage unit through the site.
The website has already been launched, but the STL team continues to provide updates.

I only work with the project manager.

I found them three years ago through mutual connections. I was familiar with their services, and I was happy with what they delivered before, so I decided to hire them again.

I’m the owner of VNV Digital, a digital marketing agency. I help small businesses advertise through Facebook. We produce short promotional videos for them and interview the owners. I also work with some franchises.
What challenge were you trying to address with STL Website Development?
Nowadays, with so many companies going out of business, we have to reconsider the way people advertise. The biggest challenge is moving from what we did before to a new form of advertising. I had my old website, but I needed something more versatile that allowed clients to leave contact information.
What was the scope of their involvement?
They helped me build a new website using WordPress. They looked at my old website to see what services we provided, but they pretty much made the new site from scratch. They added a few testimonials from my clients, and there is also a contact form. They did the design as well.
They built a website for me with Shopify. I only used the e-commerce aspect for six months, and I stopped doing it because it was too much time and not enough revenue.

I don’t see anything that could be improved. They need to continue to stay updated on innovations in website development. That goes for any company.

Have an initial meeting and discuss what you need and how fast you need it. Make sure you don’t just talk for three minutes over the phone. Take a half-hour to discuss what you need. Communication is important.

I work for a nonprofit organization as the operations director. I’m also the senior pastor of a church in St. Louis, Missouri.
What challenge were you trying to address with STL Website Development?
We needed to redevelop our church’s website. Our prior site was fairly robust, but it hadn’t been upgraded since the 1990s. We needed a partner who had expertise and knowledge to benefit the site with the redevelopment project.
What was the scope of their involvement?
They advanced our nostalgic, old website. While we had an existing website, they built this one from scratch. I’m not a technical expert, but I don’t think they developed any new site functionalities. Instead, they updated the look of the site and left the opportunity open for us to add to the site as time went by.
It was a collaborative process because I wanted something that would advance our site while being visually appealing to me. There was a bit of a learning curve involved on my end, but the designer welcomed and encouraged my involvement. The site is now launched for public viewing.
What is the team composition?
We worked directly with one person. Early on in the project, there was an additional representative present during our initial meetings about security measures and the scope of the project.
How did you come to work with STL Website Development?
They happened to be the same company that redeveloped the site for the nonprofit I presently work for. Their services were referred to the nonprofit by someone, possibly one of our donors. That’s what encouraged us to select them in the past.
Their team also came alongside another development team to upgrade an existing website for a Christian school that I’m on the board for. There, they collaborated with the other group to make some cosmetic improvements to the platform.
During these past projects, I had a front-row seat when they re-established that website. It was that experience that provided me the enthusiasm and motivation to hire them for this project. Their workmanship, professionalism, and commitment were evident.

The site and monthly hosting fees will amount to under $10,000. We’re sliding into home plate on the project currently, so we will address exact costs in our next meeting together.

We worked together on the site from January 2020–2021. The site was launched in January 2021, but they’re still making some minor adjustments to it as time goes on. They’ll be managing the site moving forward.

At this point, we’re just concerned with the longevity of the quality they provide. Even before we engaged on this project, I’ve been very impressed and pleased with their website work. We don’t ever have to shut anything down for site fixes or problem-solving. I’m happy with how this collaborative effort went.

First and foremost, they were very professional and flexible. Because of my busy schedule, we had to reschedule some meetings. I always appreciated their willingness to adjust their schedules. Their professional attitude, work ethic, and the meaningfulness they put into their work. They were dedicated to producing something meaningful for us, something I could be proud of. My priorities were put first, and it was clear they wanted to create something that I would identify with. I’ve been part of engagements where the producer tries to convince the client of what they need all because the producer likes the particular product. I appreciate that they were committed to my vision, outlook, and interests for the site.
What did you find most impressive about them?
When they gave me room to make decisions, they always provided ample information and examples for me to choose from. Whether it was the layout, designs, or color schemes, I appreciated that they invited me into the making of everything. They invited me into their world and shared the process with me as a partner.
Are there any areas they could improve?
There were periods of time where we didn’t hear from them. However, during those periods, they didn’t hear from us either. During this time, the designer was in pursuit of a degree while working on this project, so we were patient. I wasn’t looking for a rush job and appreciated them taking the time to involve me in the work. There’s nothing I can say was disappointing.

They’re reputable, flexible, and willing to be honest about design direction. They encourage my participation and react honestly to our ideas.
