Introduce your business and what you do there.
I am the CEO and founder of Mossify, an e-commerce brand that sells plant products.
What challenge were you trying to address with Startup Slang?
I was looking for a web developer to make my site look professional.
What was the scope of their involvement?
Startup Slang developed our Shopify website from scratch. Sylvia (Digital Designer) helped design our branding assets, which she then applied to our website. We provided them with photography and other content. We are planning to revamp the site in a month or two.
What is the team composition?
I worked with Damiano (Founder), Sylvia, and Tom (E-Commerce Specialist), who managed day to day operations.
How did you come to work with Startup Slang?
I searched online for web developers and, after reading a few of Startup Slang’s reviews, reached out to Damiano. He was a really nice guy, so we met up in person and have been working together ever since. Their value proposition and high ratings stood out to us.
How much have you invested with them?
We have invested around $20,000 CAD (approximately $16,000 USD).
What is the status of this engagement?
Our ongoing engagement began in February 2020.
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
Working with Startup Slang allowed us to launch our business. If we ever have a problem, they don’t hesitate to fix it. They’re incredible at Shopify and the site looks amazing. We get a lot of compliments on the site from customers.
How did Startup Slang perform from a project management standpoint?
Startup Slang is great at project management. We utilize BaseCamp to collaborate and primarily communicate via phone. They always follow up.
What did you find most impressive about them?
They’ve done everything well from start to finish.
Are there any areas they could improve?
No, they’ve done everything I asked for.
Do you have any advice for potential customers?
I’ve already referred several people to Startup Slang. At the end of the day, it’s up to the client and their budget, but they’re a great team.

We had a mobile app client that wanted to integrate with a Shopify store.
What was the scope of their involvement?
Our client had a mobile product with its own API. Startup Slang needed to build a solution that would send purchases from a Shopify store to the app. Their team styled and built the Shopify store and then connected it to the mobile app. The store’s visible in the app.

How did Startup Slang perform from a project management standpoint?
We communicated via Slack and used Jira for project management purposes. Their team was professional. Any time we messaged them, they quickly responded. Anytime there was a demonstration, it worked. Working with them was a pleasant experience.
