I’m the CTO of a stealth startup, overseeing product management. Our business offers secure real-time communications software that we’ve built internally.
For what projects/services did your company hire StarTele Logic?
For our most recent project, we hired StarTele Logic for staff augmentation. They provided additional backend software engineers to support our team as we built a communications platform as a service (CPaaS).
What were your goals for this project?
We wanted to build a highly secure real-time video conferencing solution for web and mobile devices. Our goal was to release APIs and software development kits (SDKs) for retail users as well as custom solutions for enterprise-level clients.
How did you select this vendor?
We met with StarTele Logic at their office based in Noida, India, and their CEO gave a great first impression. After interviewing several vendors, I decided that they were the best match for us. On top of that, a comparable domestic developer would’ve cost much more per hour.
Describe the project in detail.
For this project, StarTele Logic’s engineers worked within a JavaScript framework, using Python, Go, FreeSWITCH, Kamailio, React for Android, and Swift 4 for iOS. Their services involved 40% coding, 40% JavaScript coding, and 20% infrastructure testing. Since then, they’ve continued to provide engineering services for various tasks, working on a monthly basis rather than by project.
What was the team composition?
I’ve worked with 12 resources in total. We started with one resource and would add more as the project progressed. Currently, I’ve extended our initial resource’s contract through the end of 2019 and have hired a new frontend developer, both working full time.
Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?
Overall, StarTele Logic’s primary success factor is their quality of work. They’re responsible for creating a product that requires advanced technical skills, and they’ve delivered consistently. I consider them to be a part of my team and plan to hire them for more projects, not just as remote consultants.
How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?
We conduct the project management internally. But, if there are any issues, their project lead will take over and handle everything, from technical discussions to staffing and billing. We appreciate their willingness to interface daily, and they’re transparent about their work and timesheets.
What did you find most impressive about this company?
They’re a highly-skilled team with an impressive level of accountability. I strongly value their engineers’ attitude, ability to learn, and dedication to delivering quality software.
Are there any areas for improvement?
No, there’s nothing to improve in terms of quality and process, though it might be helpful if they started an office in Silicon Valley.

Introduce your business and what you do there.
I’m the CTO of MFI Group, a system-integrated company in Africa with multiple locations. We represent around 22 countries in Africa. We’re a senior partner for Alcatel and a distributor for Kyocera’s multi-functional copiers.
What challenge were you trying to address with StarTele Logic?
We needed a cheap, but good solution.
What was the scope of their involvement?
They developed an iOS and Android mobile app for video and audio streaming for clients of ours in Tanzania and Rwanda—one is a telecom company and the other an electricity company. They also provided instructional videos for it which can be accessed on YouTube, so anyone new can easily learn how to use the app. It’s a great solution overall.
What is the team composition?
I was in touch with three people. I never talked to the guys working on the backend, but whoever they were, they did a tremendously good job.
How did you come to work with StarTele Logic?
They were recommended to us, so we contacted them. They were very polite and their price was affordable.

They provided a high-quality software and both customers are very happy. They completed the project three months earlier than expected.

Their response time and delivery are fast, and their customer support is remarkable. They’re approachable, easy to work with, and I haven’t faced any challenges with them. Other vendors would get irritated when we contacted them, but StarTele didn’t. They’d even call once a month to ask for any new requirements.
What did you find most impressive about them?
They deliver quickly, they’re honest, and they describe everything that they worked on thoroughly. Once they finished the task, they’d send us an invoice. Other vendors expected advanced payments before even starting the work. Overall, we trust each other and have built a relationship with StarTele.
Are there any areas they could improve?
They mainly do mobile application development, so I told them that they should come up with a management information format or a student management system. A few weeks ago, one of their sales representatives told me that they’re going to implement an academic solution very soon and will give us a demo, so they’re improving themselves.
Do you have any advice for potential customers?
They’re trustworthy people that deliver before the deadline. In the software industry, I haven’t found anyone else that delivered early.
