A Clutch analyst personally interviewed this client over the phone. Below is an edited transcript.
Introduce your business and what you do there.
I am the CEO of a health center that provides Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) services for children living with autism.
What challenge were you trying to address with Stark Marketing?
Developing a website was not our top priority when we started the business. We already had solid relationships with vendors and insurance companies, so we just put together an unimpressive website with a simple design and straightforward functionality. As time passed, we noticed that the site was not an accurate depiction of what our company had grown to be. In addition to the imprecise branding, the outdated website wasn’t attracting the future talent that we wanted to add to our staff. We needed to give our website a makeover that reflects our position as a leading ABA service provider.
What was the scope of their involvement?
Stark developed a WordPress site tailored to our company’s needs. We met with them to discuss the page template designs; they advised on effective content placement, and we provided feedback on their work until we were satisfied with the look. The home page features a video that showcases the core values that define our business, which they created. Other enhancements include an embedded background video on the home page, an animated logo on the careers page, and interactive icons on the about page. They also designed a new job portal that allows applicants to upload résumés and directly apply to job listings. The website isn’t on its permanent host, so we’re still adding things to improve the site.
What is the team composition?
We mostly conversed with their senior developer about design options, but we did interact with other members of their team when technical issues arose.
How did you come to work with Stark Marketing?
Our offices are in the same building, so we’ve always been aware of their company. Although we loved their proximity to us, it wasn’t a determining factor in our decision to hire them. Out of all of the companies that we interviewed, Stark was the only firm that offered custom web-designs. It showed that they actually care about the end product. After verifying that their web-design knowledge was current, we decided to hire them for the project.
How much have you invested with them?
The new website cost less than $8,000 to build.
What is the status of this engagement?
They started developing the site in January 2018, and we launched the website in April 2018.
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
We’ve gotten great feedback from website visitors on the new site. We’re waiting to switch our server to a new host before analyzing website metrics in full detail, but we have noticed an increase in job applicants since updating the site.
How did Stark Marketing perform from a project management standpoint?
Although we’re in the same building, we only meet in person when necessary. They were available to accommodate my busy schedule and use email as our primary method of correspondence.
What did you find most impressive about them?
Stark introduced us to cutting-edge design features that put our original vision to shame. There’s no site on the web that looks like ours; Every single detail was personalized to fit our needs, which shows how much they care about their customers. I'm confident we have one of the best online platforms in the ABA field.
Are there any areas they could improve?
We had a great experience working with them, so there’s nothing that I can point out.
Do you have any advice for potential customers?
There are cheaper web solutions on the market, but they don’t offer the level of customization that Stark provides. Commit to the process and see what they have to offer. They lay out all of your options and give guidance on the most useful content arrangement, which is an excellent resource for a non-technical individual to have.
