I am the CEO of Worldwide Multimodal Cargo, an international logistics company.

For what projects/services did your company hire Specbee Consulting Services?

We wanted an app and website where we could post our requirements, and vendors could quote their price for fulfillment. We would then assign the requirement to a particular vendor. The work could then be tracked via the application.

What were your goals for this project?

We wanted to streamline the logistics requirement fulfilment process and reduce errors and miscommunications when it came to vendor interaction. We also wanted to reach out to more vendors and increase our capabilities.

SOLUTION

How did you select this vendor?

We were impressed with their past work and the technical capabilities of their team. They also seemed to understand our problem statement better than anyone.

Can you go into detail about the services they provided and the scope of the project?

They designed and developed our logistics requirement fulfilment platform. We started with extensive brainstorming sessions where all the requirements were documented. This was followed by the UX design phase for all the screens, which involved pencil sketching, wireframing, and visual designs. This led to a functional website and mobile applications, which were tested. Once we okayed it, the application was deployed. They are currently evolving and maintaining our platforms.

What was the team composition?

We had a project manager and worked with a team of 11 people including a systems architect, a UI/UX designer, Drupal developers, mobile app developers, and testers.

Can you share any information that demonstrates the impact that this project has had on your business?

The system has really simplified our business. More and more vendors want to work with us due to the transparency we provide via the system. Specbee provided us with a tailored solution keeping user experience in mind.

They used JIRA for project management. We were provided with an account so we could monitor and track the project from our end as well. The project activities were broken down and assigned to developers/architects/designers.

They take the project very personally and foresee potential issues so they can provide effective solutions. The team always has a long-term vision and provides solutions that are scalable.

There is very little they could improve. This is an excellent team.

I’m the co-founder of Morning Cart, a subscription-based online vendor that uses technology to bring end users and milk and newspaper distributors together.

What challenge were you trying to address with Specbee Consulting?

Milk and newspapers are two commodities that reach every house in India every day. We’re reaching a large number of customers on a daily basis, and needed a platform that could speed up the process in order to acquire customers more quickly.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

Specbee has helped us prepare the Morning Cart website and mobile applications for Android and iOS.

The platform features a private wallet, which required us to consider security, confidentiality, and technology continuity. We have server set-off times and reports generating on a daily basis for vendors and partners.

Given that there were several stakeholders involved, Specbee’s team helped us look for technology that would be helpful for this kind of platform. We decided to go ahead with Drupal for the backend of the website, and used the typical frontend technologies for Android.

What is the team composition?

We’ve worked with Prashanth, one of their founders.

How did you come to work with Specbee Consulting?

We’d been working with a small developer in Bangalore, but we were looking for a faster response time. One of our partners referred Specbee, and after meeting them, they became our primary developer.

How much have you invested with them?

We had an initial 900,000 Indian rupee [$14,130 USD] contract for the iOS and Android builds, along with basic web development. Requirements kept changing, which led to additional costs.

What is the status of this engagement?

We started working together in January 2016, and the project was completed in June of that year.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

Our process is completely automated now. We’ve given technology to milk and newspaper distributor partners which allows them to streamline their work, as well as increase their productivity and incomes. The platform also provides training in order for them to improve operations.

Morning Cart is a huge platform reaching close to 20,000 households every day on a subscription model, so the technology we needed to employ is quite robust. Prashanth’s technical abilities are quite good. Initially, it took us some time to understand his team’s abilities, but we found that they were knowledgeable. They’ve helped us have a better user experience and customer interaction.

How did Specbee Consulting perform from a project management standpoint?

There is room for improvement on their side in terms of project management since they are a startup.

What did you find most impressive about them?

They have a personal touch with clients. Both Ashirwad [Director, Specbee] and Prashanth maintained a professional environment and went out of their way to help customers. They have a good approach, but there is room for improvement in anyone’s performance. Specbee definitely has room for growth in the solutions they offer clients.

Are there any areas they could improve?

They could increase the size and technical abilities of their team, as well as assign separate project managers for each customer.

Do you have any advice for future clients of theirs?

Companies looking to work with Specbee need to closely monitor the work in order to maintain speed.
