Proxima
Proxima is a social philanthropy platform that helps donors become philanthropists by granting access to philanthropy funds created and shared by experienced philanthropists and dedicated specialists in different fields of impact.
We provided a full cycle development for Proxima project. Two native iOS apps and back end are already developed. Android and web applications are soon to be started too.
To kick start the project we had a two day session with our client and Proxima owner from UK. We managed to negotiate not only technical side, but also to find that we share common values and want to make a world better.
The most interesting and challenging part of Proxima was donations. As real money is involved everything needed to be highly secured and precise.
Two third services were used to make donations possible. It was Plaid - service that allows to connect users bank account to the app and Stripe to process donations.
Some interesting features that were developed:
- Ability for organizations to create detailed philanthropy funds
- Statistics for donors to see how much and where they donated
- Monthly/ weekly/ one time donations
- Responsible shopper. Possibility to designate to one or another fund % of all of your money spent with particular credit card.

GetBetter
Social network for people with diabetes and other chronic diseases. It helps to find, connect and support each other.
Together with Get Better team we have developed this project from MVP. Our team was responsible for the technical side of the project (development of apps) and Get Better side for the general social ideas. Working together we managed to combine these two sides into one seamless user experience.
A lot of useful features been implemented into iOS and Android app’s that we developed. Some of the main are:
- Geolocation and map (to find nearby users)
- Possibility to share information by posts
- Leave useful comments
- Communicate via private and group chats
- Push notifications
- Leave “need help” mark, so other users could see that something happened and help is needed

Virtual sports trainer
An application for a sports school in which football players are trained.
We built this project together with the client from Poland. The application was written both for Android smartphones, and for smart watches running on Android operational system. The app helps to track cardio loads during workouts or during special exercises.
Functions:

School mobile app
App for education. It helps to organize the learning process for students and teachers.
Our client, one of the most prestigious and modern education institution in Kiev – Novopecherska School rightly decided that mobile application is a perfect tool to solve all open issues, which they faced within organization in some of their processes in their own center for additional education “Release education”.This mobile app is only for internal use by teachers, students and their parents.
A lot of useful and necessary information is there in the app:
- Students and teachers can find info about their schedule
- Parents can also see schedule of their children, list of tasks for them
- Information about progress and success of their children
- Parents can get information about general rating of students and other necessary information about school
Moreover, mobile app is an additional channel for communication with parent audience and for receiving feedback from them.

Assistant
Voice assistant for iOS and Android.
Our team took a part in developing an application for virtual voice assistant for Speaktoit (after - Api.Ai).
Assistant uses natural language understanding and voice recognition to interact with its users and is capable of having clarifying conversations. Unlike Apple's Siri, Assistant comes in the form of a customizable, cartoonish avatar.
This startup has scored $2.6m from Intel in 2014.
In 2016 it was absorbed by Google

Movamba
Complex taxi service management system.
We build this project together with client from Moscow. Movamba not only allows to order simple taxi for people, but also to find a taxi for cargo. With the help of this project, our client also wanted to reduce daily paperwork he was doing.
User can track movement of the driver from the moment his order is accepted. On the interactive map it is possible to see where the driver is, his name and car number, also to observe how he fulfills the order and moves around the city.
Movamba is a complex system and consists of few important parts:

I am a co-founder of the startup in Italy called Cyrco. Our idea is to allow people to use various offers by merchants in Italy.

We needed a mobile developers to develop our app from scratch for both iOS and Android.
What were your goals for this project?
Our goal was to create an app that would be easy to use and provide real value for our users. For this task we decided that the best way would be to create mobile applications as almost everyone has a mobile phone in his pocket these days.
How did you select Sonder Digital?
I contacted several companies that I found through internet that seemed trustworthy. After describing my idea and providing a little bit of material, received different prepositions how it would be the best to make my idea a reality. I and my partners liked Sonder Digital approach the most, so we decided that we should work with them.
Describe the project in detail.
This project allows merchants from various regions of Italy to create their account and offer various offers in different categories like: clothing, culture, restaurants, sports, etc. Users could see these offers and use them while visiting a merchant.
Sonder Digital responsibility was to build these two apps for iOS and Android. Design was up to us. The most difficult part was that we needed to work with already existing very complex back-end. Sonder team needed to investigate and understand it. My colleague and partner from technical side of this project was responsible for all back-end tasks.
He and Sonder team made several video calls when some explanations were needed. From what I saw, process was smooth and everyone was quite quickly on the same page.
What was the team composition?
Team consisted of: 1 iOS developer, 1 Android developer, Technical lead, Project manager. From our side it mostly was me and my partner for technical side that also attached additional people for back-end and API works or explanations when needed.
Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?
Progress was very smooth as they delivered what they promised every time. My team and I we are all happy with the project, collaboration and code quality (we checked it with our in-house mobile developers).
Due to corona virus we had to postpone official release, but it’s nobody fault there
How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?
It was very easy to work with Sonder Digital. We communicated daily and when needed made a video call to discuss things in a more detailed way. Whenever I had prompt questions I could write to assigned PM or one of co founders of Sonder.
Every two weeks we had a demo with them. It helped to see the progress and be stress free as we knew where we are at particular moment and where we are going next.
What did you find most impressive about this company?
They are a good blend of soft and hard skills. Good and friendly guys, but also strong from the technical side. At the same time they are professional and friendly, it was easy to create a comfortable working environment. I think for long term cooperation this is very important.
Are there any areas for improvement?
Sonder Digital is a solid team. I can’t think of any places they need to improve at the moment.

One of my long term clients contacted me with a need to create mobile applications for iOS and Android. As we had no in house resources for such a task, I started search for a reliable partner that could help us with this task. One of my colleagues, that knew Sonder Digital, recommended them for me.
What were your goals for this project?
The main goal was to build a long term project - mobile app, that could greatly improve customer experience that are staying in health center. Also, ease the communication process between doctors, center visitors and reception. Every of these tasks needed to smoothly integrate in overall marketing picture of health center.
How did you select Sonder Digital?
The client we build this app for, was very important for me, so I wanted to find a reliable vendor with logical price. At first I tried to check for the companies by myself, but after that thought, that the best way would be to find a company that some of our partners already worked with and could recommend. That’s how I was introduced to Sonder Digital. After few conversations with them we met and together visited my final client. After that I felt that I could trust them and we started to work.
Describe the project in detail.
The general vision of the end client was to build a long term project that could be easily improved with various different functions. It was foreseen before start of the project that it won’t be a one-time project that you finish and that’s it, but instead it will be a long journey with constant updates during upcoming years.
At the beginning of the project, there was only a vision what is needed to build. Working closely together, we managed to determine main points of the application and to turn this vision into reality. Sonder Digital was responsible for the tasks starting with technical documentation and visual design then developing the apps and publishing to the stores after it.
Sonder Digital worked on general architecture of the app, documentation, design and mobile parts. Back-end and API was provided by IT department of the client. At the end of every week they provided me with a short summary of what works was done during that week and after every two weeks (that was our typical sprint for this project) they showed me and my client a demo of their progress. Also, when there was open question they conducted video calls with client to discuss them.
As requirements where not set in stone and during development we received from our client requests that he wants to add/change some things. Sonder Digital team was sharp on adjusting to these requests too. In some cases we made those improvements on the go, in other Sonder adjusted us that it’s better to leave it for further versions of the app.
What was the team composition?
Team from their end consisted of CTO, PM, Designer, Back-end developer (to consult clients IT department), 2 mobile developers.
Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?
My end customer for whom we build this application is happy with the product we managed to build and is working further with us. If my customer is happy and has no pretensions, so am I with the work Sonder Digital made.
How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?
What I liked, is that they were easy to communicate with. Whenever I had a question I could just write it in our Slack group and PM from their side clarified for me all the things. Also, sometimes I needed more detailed info to provide to my client, so in those cases I received detailed clarifications via their CEO.
Last but not the least I really appreciate their proactiveness. Sometimes during the development arose questions, that we couldn’t foresee upfront. In those situations they were the first to ask those questions.
What did you find most impressive about this company?
There are some things I would like to mention, but one thing I noticed the most, was their top level management. There were situations when I needed to make some adjustments and I always felt that they were near me and could help to solve problems. As they were in constant communication with the end customer, they provided their suggestions for me how to better solve one or another situation.
Are there any areas for improvement?
I can’t think of any big improvements. As I mentioned, my client is happy with our work and is willing to work with us further. That’s the best indicator for me for further projects and cooperation with Sonder team.

We looked for a vendor on a web portal for finding developers. Sonder Digital took part in our tender. It’s not often that developers look deep into ordinary projects with full honesty. They also asked all the right questions, had expertise with payment gateway integration, and were able to involve additional developers to fit project deadlines.
Describe the project in detail.
Sonder Digital created a mobile app for a large e-commerce portal for selling clothes and accessories. They initially helped us define most of the project’s architecture and assess risks before starting development. The platform needed to be easy for customers to use, so it had to have a clear UI/UX with a simple route from the first screen to completing the order and processing payment. They were in charge of developing the whole UI of the mobile app along with its API.
Other tasks involved the integration of an analytics system to track user behavior and ad results, data protection, payment gateway integration, and third-party library and solution integrations.
What was the team composition?
They assigned a product owner, a project manager, a UI/UX designer, four mobile developers, two backend developers, and a QA engineer. Their CTO was also involved.
Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?
According to our analytics, users are making about the same amount of purchases through the mobile app as through the web portal. This confirms that the app has great usability and that end customers are receiving what they expect from the app. It’s a well-tested product with minimum bugs.
How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?
It was a pleasure to cooperate with such a team of professionals. Their CTO and project manager were always able to answer my questions and fully supported our collaboration with the client.
