Their team was quick to respond to our needs, usually within the same day. We had weekly meetings, which were helpful, though sometimes they felt a bit rushed.
Our project manager was knowledgeable, but there were a couple of times when I felt he could've been a bit more proactive in updating us. Overall, they were professional, and the minor hiccups didn't overshadow the positive aspects of our collaboration.

We hired SoftLoft to rebuild a legacy Magento store for our client. The main goal was to create a responsive and user-friendly product configurator which included the ability to establish multiple parameters and attributes. One of the key objectives for the project was the user experience. It was important to ensure that users have clear navigation and selection by utilizing custom features which are generated by answers from a questionaire that would allow the product configurator to choose the most relevant products based on chosen parameters.

How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?
At the time of this project, we did not have the talent available to perform this work. As such, one of our other executives who has been in the ecommerce space for over a decade, had experience with SoftLoft from a previous company. I was told by my counterpart that SoftLoft was a bunch of "rock stars." We chose to work with SoftLoft after one of our Magento experts interviewed their team. My counterpart was correct. These guys were rock stars. In fact, several of them had actually worked at Magento in the core engineering team. That finding made the decision much easier.

SoftLoft took care of the whole project with input and guidenace form our project management team. The project started with an audit of the client’s legacy system. This included identifying the key modules and features, highlighting the biggest issues with the previous solution. One of the biggest challenges was migrating the data. The reason is that the data structure in the new target system was quite different from the legacy system.
The SoftLoft developers handled the ETL activities very well. Now, our client has a fully functional Magento store with the features they needed. Most important, the client's users say that the site provides a great user experience.

The SoftLoft team was comprised of 7 specialists: a business analyst, 2 Magento backend developers, 2 Magento front-end developers and 2 QA engineers. My compnay provided the project management (PM) resource.

SoftLoft is a great ecommerce agency. They used a hybrid methodology that leaned toward agile. The teams had regular standups and demonstrations at the end of each sprint. What worked really well is the fact that the business analyst and PM worked on collecting and scoping requirements for future sprints while the dev team worked. We received regular burndown reports and could easily track the progress of the project. Communications were good. Overall the project ran smoothly and the status of deliverables was transparent.

We were most impressed with the level of engagement. SoftLoft worked well with our team and treated our client as if it was theirs. We felt very connected with SoftLoft, as if they are a part of our company. They were very hands on and took ownership. Most important, the SoftLoft team spoke up. Overall, the project went very well. SoftLoft was transparent, they delivered on time, on budget and there were no surprises. As such, I have no comments on areas that could have been improved upon.
