New Web Portal in Our Execution: Document Management Software for the MBA School
MIM, the oldest and the biggest MBA School in Ukraine, addressed Softengi with the intent to receive digital consulting services regarding the transformation of an old school web portal for scheduling and information.
At this point, Softengi started cooperating with MIM with the intent of building a reliable web portal application that could improve the operational workflow for MIM in a convenient form.
What did MIM get as a result of the 3-month cooperation with the Softengi team?
- An in-school smart scheduling and information system that met the requirements of the MIM team was the result of a cooperation between Softengi and MIM. First, it is a unified list of teachers, rooms, programs, courses, groups with the editing possibility and open access to the chosen list of participants. All the information is now structured smartly, carefully, and logically and thus can be accessed faster via the text search.
- Second, it is a secure system with authorized access from any part of the world. The validation of the data is automatic which excludes the human factor at the stage of the data entry. The system prohibits last month’s updates; notifications are received by the admin system if the information is updated.
- Finally, the system allows creating monthly workload and payroll reports automatically, which saves a lot of time for the team. These reports can also be exported to more suitable formats, such as excel or HTML.
All in all, it is a scheduling and information system that augments the work of the whole personnel of the biggest MBA business school making it more accurate and error-free.
From a technical perspective, Softengi developed an open-source solution using JavaScript and PostgreSQL.
The system was also updated with the secure survey system which allows collecting valuable information from the questionnaires.

AI-Powered Online Learning Platform for the TeenGeeks School
Softengi has created AI-Powered Online Learning Platform for NGO organization from South Africa called TeenGeeks. This platform called ms. Zora and provides more children with access to computing education. It includes a database of online video courses where all the participants can register and pass a certain course and receive the completion certificate and a learning management system for the education of the students on all the levels.
Using this online platform, students of all levels (from elementary school to college) and across disciplines (such as math, computer science, language arts, social studies) can learn remotely improving their skills step by step. More than that, the system is purely interactive: educators share stories, exchange resources, ask students questions.
Using artificial intelligence algorithms, we have also managed to improve the system with “smart hints” and automatic tasks check.
Several words about the educational approach of this system. The learning process is done with the help of code blocks. This approach is visual, easy to perceive for multiple users, and is efficient.

Our team decided to explore this concept and created the prototype of Uber for medical services - a database of medical specialists who can consult patients on demand via a user-friendly mobile app. We all need professional consulting from time to time, and the degree of its quality depends on the access to the level of education and experience of medical specialists.

AR app for Product Configuration
The Augmented Reality application allows you to demonstrate a product of any size in real-time under any conditions. All you need is a regular smartphone and our application. The essence of the problem lies in the organization of the transportation of the product, its parts and, even, its configuration.
Such logistic operations cost a lot of money, because the larger the load, the more expensive its transportation. Chatbot for DevOps Department
This chatbot was created by our DevOps Department to solve several communication/management problems and to automate repetitive actions increasing the speed of releases.
These are some of the goals we’ve managed to achieve with the help of this chatbot:
- Collection of Performance Statistics. Our chatbot is able to collect performance statistics. For example, if the last 10 tasks failed or were successful, the statistics are displayed in red or green, respectively. At the end of the month, a detailed report is automatically created as a file for all projects and their participants.
- Problematic Situations Prediction.The possibility to predict problems is one of the most valuable features of this chatbot. This feature allows fixing the problem in advance. We can also monitor the activity of users of our products and analyze this data. This gives us the opportunity to choose the most suitable time for new releases.
- Remote Task Management. For instance, there was a need to copy the database but you don’t have access to PC at the moment. Using a chatbot, it’s easy to send this command via messenger and get things done remotely.
- Security. Of course, we didn’t neglect security. As the messenger has limited access, only those who passed the authorization can join and send commands so the security part is well-thought as well.
- Timely Reporting. After receiving this task, the bot is assigned with this simple task and is ready to perform it and report about it. If the task was not successful, it explains the reason for the failure. If it was a success, the bot informs about the details of the task. For instance, it can send the directions of the folder where it is preserved the database.

Each year the platform and associated services have typical feature enhancements and maintenance work needed to meet the needs of existing customers and the market. Softengi does the bulk of the engineering to meet near-monthly releases to the production SaaS environment. Softengi also regularly provides insight and recommendations for optimizations and improvements to help manage data and traffic scale that commonly make it to the backlog and into the product(s).

During 2020 we leveraged a team of over 30 people from Softengi. This consisted of 20 developers, 10 QA, and couple project managers. Additionally, there was a process manager to help things work smoothly between the onshore and offshore resources and tooling. We contacted Softengi because we realized they have relevant experience in AI solutions development, more than that, they created AI-powered drones in the past. First, we discussed the goal of the project with the Softengi team in detail and determined the criteria for images sorting.
Second, we provided their team with a set of images and videos for objects labeling. We were particularly interested in the amount of greenery on the images with crops. Our tech specialist worked closely with the data scientists until we formulated the accurate criteria for the model building.
Softengi team updated us about the progress of the project on a weekly basis so we could witness how the accuracy of the image recognition was rising gradually which the dataset enrichment and was 99% in the end.

I work as a CTO of Def C, a company creating powerful UAVs for target recognition & tracking, and monitoring.

We wanted to improve the level of accuracy of target recognition, monitoring, and detection by implementing CV technology in existing drones and minimize the chances of human-made errors in the process of target monitoring.
Upgraded with this system, we wanted to make drones more useful for multiple purposes, such as accurate cargo escorting in logistics or leaks monitoring in the utility sector.
Drones powered with the computer vision can also be applied in agriculture and military sectors, and for that, we needed an advanced system which CV can provide.

The first goal was to increase the amount of accurate actionable data generated daily. The second goal was to improve the speed of the achieved reaction to the data properly. Using drones powered with computer vision, we got the chance to structure the visual data properly and react to it instantly in the most effective way.

A few words about the project. This computer vision software is created for UAV’s onboard plates which are installed on the drones. Softengi created this system for objects recognition, tracking, and monitoring using Python and Open CV library.
This system of object recognition, tracking and monitoring makes video processing possible even without the signal from the base. Another advantage of Def-C powered with CV is the security of data. It’s all accumulated on our own premises so there is no chance of data breach.

There were backend, frontend software developers involved along with QC engineers and UI/UX for web app visualization.

Today we are actively using Drones powered with VC for leaks monitoring in the utility sector. We've managed to increased the accuracy of objects recognition, and this number is growing steadily.

We used several programs, such as Jira, Slack to monitor the workflow and ensure non-stop communication. The project is still unfolding but we didn't face any problems so far and the team manages to stick to the deadline.

I am a co-founder and a Head of Product of 4ComfortShoes. The created application is essentially a kind of aggregator of shoe models. It is very easy to use, the user just needs to put their foot on a blank sheet and point the camera at it.
As a result, we get a 3D model of the foot formed from the images (this was created without lengthy development from scratch, but using a ready-made tool from a professional institute of anthropology that specializes in this). Based on this data, the program will calculate the size and help you choose the most comfortable pair.

First, we created specifications for the AR-powered app together with the Softengi business analysts. We worked using Scrum methodology and divided the whole project into sprints. After each sprint, we received certain results and discussed the progress. QA testing was a long and exhausting process but we managed to create a bug-free application.
