"They've treated us as being part of the same team."

A Clutch analyst personally interviewed this client over the phone. Below is an edited transcript.
Introduce your business and what you do there.
DNF Consulting Services provides software development and services around application lifecycle management. We are an Atlassian support partner, which is a publicly-traded 2-billion-dollar company. We work with customers within the retail and technology sectors, who are looking for application management tools. I am the vice president of IT services for the company.
What challenge were you trying to address with SocialPulsar?
Most of our business is done through the web, which means that our website and marketing practices need to be robust.
What was the scope of their involvement?
We have relied on SocialPulsar for marketing work and guidance. We provide direction on what content we need around specific products or segments. They also handle case studies and our site's SEO, providing guidance around keywords and meta-tags. We rely a lot on the leads coming through our website.
As a tech company, we don't believe that our target crowd is on social media like Facebook. SocialPulsar has been focusing on our LinkedIn and Twitter pages, both providing us pointers and producing content. The amount of content depends on what sort of work we are assigning to the team. We are a startup and are just now picking up on things, so our priorities are changing. We are constantly adding pages to our website, refining content and coming up with the best digital marketing strategies.
SocialPulsar is also providing design services for brochures and other marketing collateral.
How did you come to work with SocialPulsar?
SocialPulsar approached us on social media and gave us a demo on how their product worked, and what kind of extended support we could obtain. Our company was just starting out, so we didn't want to hire internal marketing and management resources. We were happy with how SocialPulsar could handle things for us, so we decided to hire them.
How much have you invested with SocialPulsar?
The cost of SocialPulsar's services is above $10,000 per year.
What is the status of this engagement?
We are currently working with them.
Could you share any evidence that would demonstrate the productivity, quality of work, or the impact of the engagement?
When starting a new project, it will take some time to settle and streamline the process. This was a problem for us, but SocialPulsar eventually understood what we needed. They've been able to drive prospects to the inquiry form, after which the responsibility is on our sales team. The numbers are increasing because of what SocialPulsar has done.
How did SocialPulsar perform from a project management standpoint?
SocialPulsar has multiple team members, both local and offshore, and I can also contact their principal for any issues. SocialPulsar has delivered on-time on most occasions. If the task has been discussed by us, they will deliver.
What did you find most impressive about SocialPulsar?
I've liked the personable approach of SocialPulsar's members. They've treated us as being part of the same team.
Are there any areas SocialPulsar could improve?
SocialPulsar needs to scale up the team. They are getting more projects which are handled by the same people. We have gotten responses quickly, but having a dedicated contact and more room for discussing options would be welcomed.

A Clutch analyst personally interviewed this client over the phone. Below is an edited transcript.
Introduce your business and what you do there.
My company is a managed IT services provider. We are helping businesses in the San Francisco Bay Area. We have been in business for about nine years. I am President and CEO.
What challenge were you trying to address with SocialPulsar?
There are many challenges. It’s a highly complicated market. We wanted our page to be as visible as possible for possible customers.
What was the scope of their involvement?
It’s mostly SEO [search engine optimization] and content generation. They were creating content for a blog, social media and website. The social media platforms are Facebook, Twitter, and LinkedIn. They manage our social media accounts. We have certain expectations for how much they do, but I don’t remember what terms we had.
How did you come to work with SocialPulsar?
They came through some reference. We thought they were the right people.
How much have you invested with SocialPulsar?
We have invested between $10,000 and $50,000.
What is the status of this engagement?
I think all projects are completed - I don’t remember. It was one of my associates who started the relationship. I wasn’t paying much attention to when we started but I think it’s been a year. We completed it a couple months ago.
Could you share any evidence that would demonstrate the productivity, quality of work, or the impact of the engagement?
We had an increased level of interest from their work.
How did SocialPulsar perform from a project management standpoint?
They [SocialPulsar] worked on that very diligently, and it was good execution. We didn’t have much trouble dealing with them. SocialPulsar was able to meet the deadlines we set.
What did you find most impressive about SocialPulsar?
We had a good experience with them. They were really responsive as far as I know. It worked out well for us. Looking at the business standard, it was an increase in business and that’s what I was looking for. It worked out really well. My associates worked with them and had good experiences working with the team.
Are there any areas SocialPulsar could improve?
I’m not an SEO guy, so I don’t understand the terminology, so that’s probably not a good question for us. We believe the SEO is a critical component of any website and any business, so it’s very important.

I never have to do any follow-ups on anything. We get the reports on time.
Are there any areas SocialPulsar could improve?
I can’t think of anything.

Digital Marketing for Video Marketing Startup
“It’s been good so far.”

A Clutch analyst personally interviewed this client over the phone. Below is an edited transcript.
Introduce your business and what you do there.
Mobinar is an early stage startup which is in the space of video and virtual reality – similar to YouTube or Vimeo. It’s a complete platform that lets businesses - small, medium, and large - to have a very secure video distribution platform that lets you host your own videos and securely send it to named individuals, and have very deep analytic insights into viewership. We give analytics like what’s the drop rate, play rate, the attention span, etc. I am one of the co-founders.
What challenge were you trying to address with SocialPulsar?
Any business today needs a very solid social presence. The owner of SocialPulsar is a good friend and colleague of the founder of Mobinar. They are helping with our digital marketing efforts when it comes to SEO, social media marketing, landing pages, and inbound marketing. They’re helping us create brand awareness.
What was the scope of their involvement?
Right now the content is owned by Mobinar. They’re helping us with best practices around how our pages should look like with regard to keywords. They have given a strategy of things that they think should be done. They do proofreading and keyword counting of our content.
How did you come to work with SocialPulsar?
The founder of SocialPulsar is a business associate and friend of the founder of Mobinar. We decided to give them a chance.
How much have you invested with SocialPulsar?
It’s in the range of $10,000 to $50,000. As our business grows, I want to expand the footprint of digital marketing.
What is the status of this engagement?
It’s ongoing. We started with them earlier this year. I joined in June and it was before that. In July we ramped it up.
Could you share any evidence that would demonstrate the productivity, quality of work, or the impact of the engagement?
It’s a little early to talk about metrics. What they have brought is a structured approach to doing all this. In my experience with startups, typically things tend to be a little chaotic. One of the things they’ve brought to the table is structure. I can see that the number of views to our pages have gone up. We have seen some increase in the inbound leads coming to us.
How did SocialPulsar perform from a project management standpoint?
They’re pretty professional. One of the advantages is that we’re both startups, so there’s a shared experience. They’re flexible and help hold us accountable to dates.
What did you find most impressive about SocialPulsar?
I’ve pretty much summed it up. There’s a newness from my perspective, but the engagement is great. We would like to see their growth as much as they would like to see our growth. We get referrals and additional customers. It’s been good so far.
Are there any areas SocialPulsar could improve?
I’ve told them that if they focus in different markets, they have the potential to expand their customer base in the US. As they grow, I think content creation is one area they can help to provide. For the US, they’re still working on getting content writers.
The client has seen an improvement in the way that prospects utilize their inquiry form and has seen a general increase in numbers thanks to SocialPulsar. They appreciate the personal approach that everyone on the team takes with their work and their ability to deliver on time.
