I was interested in increasing my online sales by having someone manage our Facebook ads and email marketing.

Introduce your business and what you do there.
I’m the owner and we sell Colombian garments.
What challenge were you trying to address with Social Kick?
We wanted Social Kick to help us bring in more revenue, sales, and traffic to our website.
What was the scope of their involvement?
They perform digital ads and email campaigns. The digital ads are on Facebook and Instagram. So far, the team finished developing our Black Friday funnel which was launched during Thanksgiving. We have yet to debrief about the funnel itself and I’m not sure if my clients can still see that or if they are already looking at a different thing. In addition, the Social Kick team also told me that we are going to change the funnel, but I'm not sure if it has changed already.
During our engagement, there was a time when certain garments were $10 off, but then external stakeholders would click on them and they couldn't avail of the discount. After that, they asked me how they could avail it. I brought it up to Social Kick's attention since I received random messages with different questions from potential clients.
Some of them were getting free gifts, but some of them weren’t. I was confused and you can just imagine my third-party clients. I went ahead and tried to make the purchase myself, but there was no way that I could give them the $10. I’m wondering if there is a way to hide those things from our third-party clients so that we don’t confuse them. There was also a garment and its price got doubled for a customer. However, the other customer got it for a regular price. Overall, there are just things I need to discuss with them once they are able to get back to me.

We work with two people, Nicolas (Co-Founder) and his wife.
How did you come to work with Social Kick?
I happened to comment on their sponsorship ad and they contacted me. They told me what they do and how they were able there to succeed in our businesses. I just trusted them, and here I am.
How much have you invested with them?
I’ve spent $2,500, maybe a little bit more than that.
What is the status of this engagement?
We began collaborating in November 2020, and we’re still working together.
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
I’m waiting for more results because it’s been up and down. I pretty much got the money I spent, but I’m still hoping and seeing that this is going to work out okay.
First, there was the election and that entire week was just dead regardless of the ads we ran. I feel like I’ve spent a lot of money, but it's still fairly new. I can’t give a complete review because the funnel is still in the works. I was very excited about it, but there were no sales or not very many sales when we launched it. I think maybe just 1–2 people went through it and used it.
There was also a day where I didn’t sell anything at all, and Nicolas told me that Facebook reported to him that we sold around $200, and I asked them how is that even possible. At this point, I’m just full of questions right now. I guess as soon as I find out more about their services, then I will be able to really rate them, but right now I can’t really rate them because I have so many questions up in the air.
How did Social Kick perform from a project management standpoint?
Nicolas has stayed in contact and he sends me emails every day on what’s going on. However, I want to see what the funnel can really do for my company and if it’s going to be able to do anything for my company. Nicholas did explain that my garments are very expensive, so that’s one of the issues that we are having. However, it’s not like they can really do anything about it. We’re still in the process, but at least things are moving right now.
Overall, their communication is good and I have no complaints about it since they answer all my questions. Nicolas also reports to me frequently. However, with all the other errors that I’m seeing, I can’t really recommend them yet. I want to know if changing the details of their work is going to cost more, but I've already paid for the funnel for the Thanksgiving Black Friday.
What did you find most impressive about them?
They report to me and they communicate very well. However, I need to be debriefed for me to be able to tell them what is working out for me and what’s not working for me. I’m still waiting for that. I was hoping it would happen right after the break, but I haven’t been able to meet with them yet.
Are there any areas they could improve?
I don’t know if they could improve on anything because I would have to see and wait how our collaboration goes. However, it could've been better if they had given me a list of things that I needed to get together and send to them at the start of the engagement — I needed to send them different things at different intervals and it's one of the issues we have. I didn't know I was supposed to send them those things and I'm just surprised every week that I have to send something. They really have to work on that.
Do you have any advice for potential customers?
Just ask a lot of questions — that’s helping me out in the process right now. Whenever Nicolas sends me emails and I have questions about something, I return the email or I’ll text them.

Our goal was to sell our Holiday Collection online. During the pandemic, a successful launch was more important than ever to our business. We hired Social Kick to create a sales page that would convert and to create a coordinating email campaign for our Black Friday Cyber Monday promotion.

Paula and her team were recommended by Smart Marketer. We really liked Paula's personality and her willingness to create a campaign that would match the tone of our brand. While extremely knowledgable, Paula has no ego. She was willing to think outside of the box and create something that suited our brand better than a classic e-commerce funnel.

We had a meeting outlining the scope of the project. After that, Paula put together a calendar of key deliverables that were met in every category. We used Zoom, phone calls and emails to craft the perfect promotion for our business!

Paula Navarro was our point of contact. She was a true pleasure to work with! Paula directed her team to execute our vision within our timeframe and budget. Paula is extremely knowledgable about the psychology of selling. Social Kick knocked it out of the park! They delivered the framework for a sales page that turned out to be the best sale we ever had. With fine tuning on our end, we created a successful promotion during a critical time for our business.
