WordPress Maintenance & SEO for Food Blog

Please describe your company and your position there.
I'm the founder of a food blog, specializing in recipes, product reviews and reviews for online sourcing of delivery meats.
For what projects/services did your company hire SiteCare, and what were your goals?
SiteCare was hired to handle the ongoing routine maintenance of wordpress site, security, and more importantly SEO improvement efforts. The goal is to continue to build and maintain a growing blog, increase site visitors, and implement strategic site redesigns for better UX, in a very competitive space.
How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?
A google search produces hundreds of results for companies that do this sort of thing. The same 3-4 were in all of the "top ten" lists for this service. I reached out to a few, and after some careful consideration I chose SiteCare for their experience, willingness to talk though my goals, and turn around time for requests. From a cost perspective, most of these companies are in the same ballpark so cost was not a factor for me.
Describe the scope of work in detail, including the project steps, key deliverables, and campaigns.
Conduct a site audit to identify short and long term goals for SEO improvement. Conduct speed tests to ensure proper site hosting was taking place. The key deliverable was a user friendly site that reduces bounce rate and increased site visits in order to share my passion with others.
How many people from the vendor's team worked with you, and what were their positions?
My main point of contact is the VP of operations. He and three other team members (SEO specialist and tech experts) are in routine contact with me.
Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?
Promised site redesigns have been implemented on budget and ahead of schedule. Site traffic is increasing and site optimization has increased site speed considerably.
Describe their project management style, including communication tools and timeliness.
Communication is ongoing and I've never had to wait more than a few hours for a response to a question. Most generally, within an hour of a question I am acknowledged and given a timeframe when the question will be answered - so i know someone is working on it. My main point of contact, Justin, is a proactive communicator and has a passion for what he does and for customer success.
What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?
First, their knowledge of the space. Many people claim to know SEO (i've spent thousands on it over the years with little to no results) but these folks actually get it and don't mind explaining the why and when of the plan. I've found SEO to be nothing but smoke and mirrors over the years, that's not the case here; real transparency.
Next, the communication is consistent and I never have to wonder what's going on. The team I work with is thoughtful in their approach to problem solving and often times instead of just an email response, I'll actually get a video showing me step by step what I need to do. It's been an overwhelmingly positive experience.
Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?
At this point, I haven't experienced any areas that need to be improved. Not to say they're aren't any, but I've certainly not experienced any to day. As things are now, I plan to be a client for the foreseeable future.

Web Maintenance & Support for Sports Drinks Company

A Clutch analyst personally interviewed this client over the phone. Below is an edited transcript.
Introduce your business and what you do there.
I work for BODYARMOR, a beverage company that provides sports drinks in the US. I lead all of our digital activation programs in local shops and regional media.
What challenge were you trying to address with SiteCare?
SiteCare provides us with website development, promotional, and day-to-day support services.
What was the scope of their involvement?
On a daily basis, SiteCare works on the maintenance of our WordPress website, including those related to product updates, images, and videos. They make sure that the website is up to date with licenses while also incorporating our marketing activities on our website.
For projects, the SiteCare team does a few different things for us throughout the year depending on our product initiatives. Sometimes, they put up promotional websites or work on new campaigns. Other times, they do translations for the website. Most of the time, however, they provide copy, images, and videos or create digital experiences based on what we’re trying to accomplish.
What is the team composition?
The team composition varies, but we typically work with 2–3 people that oversee our account. Other people in the team help us with the maintenance aspects of the engagement. Sometimes, we also engage with their finance team when it comes to billings.
How did you come to work with SiteCare?
SiteCare bought a company that was working closely with us. Meanwhile, we were searching for a firm that was quick and nimble; they should also be efficient when it comes to costs. In the end, we found SiteCare to be a good fit for us. When we approached them, we worked quickly on our end of the business, and they responded fast and kept up with our changes. There wasn’t a lot of back and forth; they simply told us how they could accomplish the job and told us what budget they needed. As a result, we decided to work together.
How much have you invested with them?
We’ve spent over $100,000.
What is the status of this engagement?
We started working with them around March 2020, and the partnership is ongoing.
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
Rather than focusing on quality, we focus on whether they can get things done; we’ve had no headaches with SiteCare. We have all the confidence in the world that they get things done and do them correctly. Overall, we’re truly happy with them.
How did SiteCare perform from a project management standpoint?
SiteCare’s turnaround times are quick compared to the other agencies we’ve tried. They always set expectations around timing, and they always hit them on time if not earlier. The team also quickly addresses issues as quickly as possible.
To communicate, we use emails because it’s the easiest way to start a conversation with them. Sometimes, we jump on calls to walk through some of the projects we have.
What did you find most impressive about them?
SiteCare is efficient and quick.
Are there any areas they could improve?
No, there aren’t any.
Do you have any advice for potential customers?
Be upfront with what you want to do and accomplish. Then, let SiteCare come up with their feedback and cost estimates. Look at their timing and creative assets, and then be clear on your expectations of what they should deliver.

Web Dev, Hosting & Support for Educational Services Agency
“The team is highly responsive and creative; they provide useful insights that help us improve upon initial requests.”

the review
A Clutch analyst personally interviewed this client over the phone. Below is an edited transcript.
Introduce your business and what you do there.
I’m the CIO for an educational service agency in Pennsylvania.
What challenge were you trying to address with SiteCare?
We hired SiteCare to provide hosting services and first-tier support for our WordPress websites. Our team also needed them to do website development in case we needed additional staff for our customers.
What was the scope of their involvement?
In our business, if our customer wants to redesign their entire website and we’re short-staffed, SiteCare helps us. Instead of telling the customer that we can’t do it, we work with SiteCare resources to get the job done. We provide them all the necessary information related to the whole scope of the project. The team then helps us put that information on our design and development screens. Collectively, their staff and our team work with the customer to ensure that we provide them with the template for the look and feel of the website.
In terms of documentation, SiteCare has access to the target websites, and we can see where they are. We work collaboratively to put together designs and analyses. Then, we present them to the customers to make sure we meet their requirements. The SiteCare team then makes any tweaks or adjustments that the clients request.
All the websites we have with SiteCare right now are on WordPress, and their team provides the hosting environment, which is based on the AWS infrastructure. The team also provides any support necessary, especially since WordPress has frequent updates and multiple plug-ins; the team makes sure that the plug-ins are kept up to date. On top of that, they also ensure the sites have appropriate firewall protections to prevent people from injecting malware into them. If something doesn’t work, we work with them to resolve whatever the issue is. At present, we’re in the process of pushing the rest of our remaining websites to their environment.
What is the team composition?
Typically, we work with 1–2 people from their team, including a project lead.
How did you come to work with SiteCare?
We talked to organizations that had similar ventures to us, and we asked them how they handled WordPress support as the number of their customers grew. At that time, we wanted a partner that was cost-effective but delivered quality service and a stable hosting environment. For context, the support services of our previous vendor weren't good, and their hosting environment was unstable. As a result, our search was for someone who could provide better at a reasonable cost. That was why we hired SiteCare.
How much have you invested with them?
We’ve spent somewhere in the neighborhood of $50,000.
What is the status of this engagement?
We started the partnership in April 2018, and it’s ongoing.
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
Since we’ve hosted with SiteCare, our uptime has been 99.999%. The time it takes for them to respond to tickets is usually less than 15 minutes. When the issue is critical, their response is almost instantaneous.
How did SiteCare perform from a project management standpoint?
SiteCare manages the projects well. The team is highly responsive and creative; they provide useful insights that help us improve upon initial requests.
To communicate, we typically use emails when we’re starting a project, though they do have a hotline we can call for support. Sometimes, our emails turn into conference calls.
What did you find most impressive about them?
SiteCare provides great customer support.
Are there any areas they could improve?
They can improve if they can provide 24/7 phone support. Other customers prefer to talk because it gives them peace of mind when somebody owns up to problems through a phone call. For comparison, when they receive emails, they feel that it’s a generic support response.
Do you have any advice for potential customers?
Talk to SiteCare. Ask questions, and make sure you understand all the services that they provide. For example, they do things for us that are normally broken down into 2–3 different expenses. In our case, they’re all in one package. In other words, you must understand the breadth and depth of their services to maximize them. You can do that by simply asking questions and talking to them.

WordPress Maintenance & Support for Online Education Program
"They make sure everything works."

the review
The client submitted this review online.
Please describe your company and your position there.
I'm Vice President of The Aji Network. We offer online educational programs for ambitious businesspeople who are serious about doubling their productivity, value and income to care for their spouse and children now and throughout 25+ years of old age in retirement.
For what projects/services did your company hire SiteCare?
We built an entirely new website and learning management system with full ecommerce capabilities in WordPress. Given the complexity of the system and the consequences to us and our students if something went wrong, we needed expert, reliable and thoughtful support.
How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?
I conducted extensive research on WordPress support providers knowing that our new site had to be kept up-to-date and couldn't fail to deliver. Many of the providers I found offered low-cost "packaged" support options that I knew wouldn't work for us. SiteCare made the most comprehensive offer; not only would they maintain and update our site, they would help us continually improve it.
Describe the project in detail and walk through the stages of the project.
SiteCare took over our WP site from the original site builders. They had to quickly familiarize themselves with the WP themes, plugins and add ons we were using, and why. This last part, the "why", is why I chose to work with them. Prior to our engagement, they conducted a thorough assessment of our site and made their proposal based on our specific requirements.
How many resources from the vendor's team worked with you, and what were their positions?
Our primary contacts at SiteCare are the Vice President and the Client Services Manager who work with a team of developers.
Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?
The team at SiteCare has been invaluable. Because of them, we have a site that is exactly what we needed; reliable, flexible, easy to use and always being improved. We continue to work with them because they are extremely good at what they do.
How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?
Communicating with the team at SiteCare is very easy. We do everything through email. They are extremely responsive to support requests, often times exceeding their promised response time. Every request we make of them is followed up with an explanation of the work they will do to fulfill along with a quote for the cost. We accept the quote. They get the work done.
What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?
I have been most impressed with the SiteCare team's knowledge and thoughtfulness. They aren't just doing tasks or doing what we ask. If they have a better idea or solution, they let us know and we most always accept! Every request we make of them is followed up with an explanation of the work they will do to fulfill along with a quote for the cost. We accept the quote. They get the work done. They make sure everything works.
Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?
Nothing comes to mind.

the review
A Clutch analyst personally interviewed this client over the phone. Below is an edited transcript.
Introduce your business and what you do there.
I’m the COO of an online job board and mobile platform for the dental industry.
What challenge were you trying to address with SiteCare?
We had just updated our website and needed to improve our SEO Score. We hired SiteCare to support SEO.
What was the scope of their involvement?
SiteCare identified the most crucial things we could do to improve our SEO Score. They conducted a full-fledged audit on our site. Using that information, they provided a prioritized list of recommendations to improve our SEO score.
From there, our team began working on the tasks that would impact our could rankings the most. Now SiteCare reviews our work once we complete a task and they revalidate our site.
What is the team composition?
We worked with Drew (President & Founder) and Justin (VP of Operations).
How did you come to work with SiteCare?
When I was talking about what we were struggling with, other business owners recommended SiteCare.
What is the status of this engagement?
The project started in November 2020 and we’re still engaged with them. The project is probably winding now, but they continue to provide support.
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
Hiring SiteCare is the best investment we’ve ever made. When we began the project, our SEO score was at 16%, but now we’ve reached 76%. Back in January, they recorded 1,078 critical errors and 17,141 errors. As of yesterday, we now have zero critical errors and just 38 errors. On top of that, revenue from organic traffic has increased from 20%–32% since January.
How did SiteCare perform from a project management standpoint?
We established a regular meeting schedule at the beginning of the project. In each call, we go through the results of their work and what they are going to work on in upcoming weeks. Then we meet again two weeks later. They are always available for questions and are on top of everything.
What did you find most impressive about them?
I’ve never seen a team as knowledgeable as SiteCare. They always think about elements we haven’t thought of.
Are there any areas they could improve?
I can’t think of anything they need to improve.
Do you have any advice for potential customers?
Listen to what they say and don’t push back. It will be a process, so you’ll need to work through the project step-by-step and reevaluate it every few weeks.

Digital Marketing for Glass & Roofing Company
“Their team is diligent in pointing out what is or isn’t working well and then really diving in to figure out why.”
the reviewer
the review
A Clutch analyst personally interviewed this client over the phone. Below is an edited transcript.
Introduce your business and what you do there.
Polyglass U.S.A. is a roofing, manufacturing, and waterproofing solutions manufacturer. We sell directly to distributors, but our end clients are roofing contractors. As the associate marketing communications manager, I handle our customer rewards program as well as any press releases, email campaigns, and website updates.
What challenge were you trying to address with SiteCare?
We originally needed a partner that could support our website development. We utilize WordPress for the backend of our site, so we were looking for someone to manage our site. For my project, that role would expand into SEO help and paid digital advertising before later incorporating web maintenance.
What was the scope of their involvement?
I specifically work with SiteCare on our email and digital marketing campaigns. Before they came along, we didn’t have any set deliverables, goals, nor tracking set up. We’d also had a bad experience with our previous third-party SEO provider because they weren’t consistent with reporting and didn’t lay out a good groundwork plan.
SiteCare joined this project in 2020 and took on the role of a marketing consultant. They reviewed our past data and laid out a plan that defined our KPIs and business solution. Since then, we’ve mostly used them for monthly reporting through Google analytics. If we ask them to promote a certain product, they’ll send us a full scope of how to do that through email, social media, and digital campaigns. We’ll review the plan before signing off on it, and they’ll fully execute everything on their end.
The same goes for when I have a trade show or any event that could potentially provide leads. I just email them a request for what I need, including the list of subjects and the leaders we’re targeting, and they handle the rest. Afterward, we’ll talk through the reporting to figure out where we could do better next time.
They’ve done so well on the reporting side that we’ve decided to expand to a larger scope in 2021, which includes all of our website maintenance. They now handle our WordPress updates and make backend enhancements for us.
What is the team composition?
Currently, I work with about five people. The CEO has been with us since the beginning and is fantastic — my director and peer have a great working relationship with him. We also work with their VP of operations. Once we send him an inquiry, he’ll distribute and manage it for us. Then, there’s a content writer and a social manager.
How did you come to work with SiteCare?
This was before I started my role, but we’d actually worked with them when they were known as Southern Web. At the time, they were working on website development. They later changed their name to SiteCare after were acquired.
As for jumping into this new strategy with SiteCare, it was really based on their performance in reporting and metrics. SiteCare pitched us how they could handle our SEO, showing their approach to timelines and communication, and it just seemed so much clearer. The plan included everything that we would’ve ever needed, and they’ve kept their promise since. That’s why we decided to switch over to them and expand into a larger scope this year.
How much have you invested with them?
For this project, we’ve spent between $150,000–$200,000.
What is the status of this engagement?
As I’ve said, they’ve been working with us for a long time, so I’ll just speak about the project that they’ve stared with us back in January 2020. They’ve been successful as our consultant on that front, and we’re continuing to work with them this year in a greater scope.
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
They work with our digital strategist to provide full monthly reports that span about 20 pages. Obviously, in the first month, we needed to tweak that and communicate what we wanted to see, but they’ve been very good about making those adjustments and getting back to us on time.
As far as the actual metrics, it’s great to actually see the numbers. Each month, SiteCare walks us through our full report so that we can talk through any questions. Their team is diligent in pointing out what is or isn’t working well and then really diving in to figure out why that is.
How did SiteCare perform from a project management standpoint?
They have a great system where we can send an email to their marketing inbox, and it will become a ticket. This could be for any topic, whether it’s a simple change in our LinkedIn campaign to writing a press release. We can then follow that ticket as their team works on it. Depending on who the inquiry is for, the relevant team member will jump in and answer it.
As for general management, they’re great. When we send tickets or check in with them, they’re responsive in saying that they’ve received our message and let us know when they’ll get it back to us. They also let us know if a timeline needs to be changed. I’ve never experienced an instance when a timeline change hasn’t been communicated and agreed upon.
Honestly, they’ve kept us in check, too, which is great because we’re a smaller marketing team. They’ve realized that we have to wear a lot of hats, so when we’re not as communicative as we need to be, they reach out with reminders on our deadlines. They keep us accountable, and we love how they’re able to execute and provide reporting while also giving us constructive feedback on how we can work better together.
What did you find most impressive about them?
For me, it’s their accountability. I’ve worked with third parties in the past where it’s definitely been more of us pushing them — “us” being a very small marketing department for a very large company. We don’t have time for that when we have to wear so many hats.
That’s why it’s impressive how SiteCare can keep track of all of our requests. They fulfill them in a timely manner and are always there for us. If I have a question, I know that I can even give the CEO a call and talk it through. There have been very few third-party companies that I’ve worked with that could do that.
Are there any areas they could improve?
It might be helpful to put the pieces together a bit more between their social media management and monitoring skills. It’s not a huge thing, but I can’t find a platform that will do the full scope for us.
Do you have any advice for potential customers?
If a company is looking to hire SiteCare, they’re looking for the full package. They’re looking for a vendor that can truly take over for whatever service they need, whether it’s website maintenance down to another hand in their marketing department. SiteCare has a wide range of products and services now that they’ve been acquired along with a larger bandwidth. You can always expect great results with them.

the review
The client submitted this review online.
Please describe your company and your position there.
I’m the Director of Marketing and Business Development for a privately owned healthcare consulting firm. Our organization works exclusively with hospitals and health systems of all sizes across the United States
For what projects/services did your company hire SiteCare, and what were your goals?
We hired SiteCare originally to manage the back and security of our website. After a few months of relationship building and positive outcomes, we engaged then for a complete website redesign and optimization.
How did you select SiteCare and what were the deciding factors?
We chose SiteCare based on their proven track record and expertise we had heard from previous clients they had engaged with. They showed us some of their recent work products and gave us contact information to reach those individuals. We contacted those clients directly who all spoke very highly of SiteCare’s quality and timeliness.
Describe the scope of work in detail, including the project steps, key deliverables, and technologies used.
SiteCare took our previously designed website and updated everything to fit a newer and fresher design. Our organization had 300+ pages of historic content that had to be re-mapped and configured to fit the new build. Our organization had also recently gone through a new branding that had to be incorporated into the re-design. The website was built with the end-user in mind allowing individuals to flow through content more easily.
SiteCare managed the entire back end process of the build on our WordPress server all the way to the forward facing front end that our clients see on regular basis. Our website historically had also never been optimized for search prioritization. SiteCare has spent countless hours providing guidance and manipulating pages to be optimized for search.
How many people from the vendor's team worked with you, and what were their positions?
We worked very closely with a handful of individuals (5-8) within the organization. Our main point of contact was Ryan, he is one of the leading executives within the organization. He managed the entire process very well and kept us in the loop related to all aspects of the engagement. We still worked very closely with Ryan and his team on their website optimization and security strategies and ongoing basis because we are so pleased with his efforts in the past.
Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?
Our website traffic has increased dramatically as a result of the redesign. Our firm used to see roughly 2000 unique users per month and averaged around 8000 page views per month. Over the past 12 months we have been averaging nearly 7000 unique users per month and just over 14,000 page views. This massive increase is a direct result of the weather so we design and optimization for search.
Describe their project management style, including communication tools and timelines.
A significant portion of communication was through Trello. It was utilized to manage many of our longer-term objectives we were trying to accomplish. It also supported many of the file transfer requirements throughout the engagement. Additionally, email and weekly calls were consistent throughout the length of the engagement.
Our organization continues to have frequent touch points with Ryan and his team regarding ongoing website optimization. The overall style was very structured but also allowed for fluidity and constant communication throughout engagement.
What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?
The most impressive part of the team is its willingness to accomplish things outside of the original scope of work and provide realistic feedback on how to accomplish those items most effectively. Transparency and full communication like that is unique and they provided expert level direction that our team desperately needed.
Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?
At one point during the engagement we were handed off between project managers within the organization. That transition could have been more seamless. We’ve benefited by ultimately ending up working with Ryan and his team the handoff couple have been improved somewhat.

We hired them for marketing and advertising.
What was the scope of their involvement?
They help us with our Google and Facebook ads, and other social media ads. The team also spearheads our SEO efforts. What is the team composition?
We work mostly with Dustin (Digital Marketing Manager) and Justin (VP, Digital Operations).
How did you come to work with SiteCare?
I was searching for a new website management company when I came across SiteCare. I interviewed them among others and selected them.

Introduce your business and what you do there.
I’m the owner of and company that owns, sells, processes, leases, and places ATMs nationwide.
What challenge were you trying to address with SiteCare?
I had been building my own website. Then, the Google Penguin 2.0 update happened in 2011 and it took me off the first page of Google. I needed professionals to come in and clean my black hat SEO practices.
What was the scope of their involvement?
The team cleaned up my backlinks, copy, and redesigned my WordPress website. From there, we continue to work on a monthly SEO project.
What is the team composition?
I work with one account representative and five other people from their team.
How did you come to work with SiteCare?
I was looking for a local, credible company and reached out to 4–5. I felt most comfortable with them. They weren’t the cheapest or the most expensive, but they were able to do everything I was looking for.
How much have you invested with them?
We spent $10,000 for the initial web design-build and $25,000 per year for SEO.
What is the status of this engagement?
We started working together in June 2015, and our work is ongoing.
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
The quality of service is great. If you Google any of the keywords that we’ve focused on, I’ll be on the first page.
How did SiteCare perform from a project management standpoint?
We communicate via email and text. They’re great at keeping on top of things. The team breaks things down quarterly, by hour, and month. They always deliver and never drop the ball.
What did you find most impressive about them?
I’m a results-driven person, and their results are great. They pretty much do everything for me and it’s really easy.
Are there any areas they could improve?
No, if anything I’m the one that needs improvement.
Do you have any advice for potential customers?
My advice is to make sure that you can afford it. They’re not the cheapest but you will get results.
SiteCare’s efforts have resulted in increased site traffic and improved speed, meeting expectations. They’ve implemented updates on budget and ahead of schedule through a communicative and proactive approach. Ultimately, their SEO expertise is impressive.
