We are an IT outsourcing company.
What challenge were you trying to address with Simple Solutions?
We needed to develop a PHP application for one of our clients.
What was the scope of their involvement?
Simple Solutions has developed our Yii PHP project from scratch. We initially worked with one developer from Simple Solutions, but the team expanded to 10 people at the peak of the project.
How did you come to work with Simple Solutions?
Simple Solutions has a development team in Belarus, which is my native country.
How much have you invested with Simple Solutions?
The cost of Simple Solutions' services was around $500,000.
What is the status of this engagement?
The project ran for around 3 years. Our investors ran out of money in the late stages of the project, so the software didn't go into production.
Could you share any evidence that would demonstrate the productivity, quality of work, or the impact of the engagement?
The general feedback was okay, and we didn't have issues within the development stage.
Our client changed the scope of work, which increased the budget significantly. That led to a problem in finishing the project.
How did Simple Solutions perform from a project management standpoint?
Simple Solutions' principal acted as a project manager, and he was quite strong. He had worked in the US for several years and has experience.
We have used JIRA for project management, but Simple Solutions could use any other tool.
What did you find most impressive about Simple Solutions?
Simple Solutions provided a flexible team which could be increased or decreased based on our needs. They specialize in PHP development, so finding resources was easy.
Are there any areas Simple Solutions could improve?
Simple Solutions could have better communicated the scope increase to our investors. It seemed to me that our investor didn't clearly understand how their changes would influence the scope. Not managing expectations properly was possibly one of our project management mistakes, but there is no simple solution to this, and the fault exists on our own side as well.

We are a new-car dealership offering SKODA and other brands. I am the Internet Marketing Director of the company.
What challenge were you trying to address with Simple Solutions?
We needed to redesign our website.
What was the scope of their involvement?
Simple Solutions worked on our site. We liked the result, so we also gave them a CRM [customer relationship management] database project. Simple Solutions also built an Android and iOS mobile app for our customers using the Yii PHP framework, and they handled our social marketing campaign.
Simple Solutions assigned one PHP programmer, one for Java, one for HTML/CSS front-end work, as well as one developer for each mobile platform. We had an account manager for our social media work.
How did you come to work with Simple Solutions?
I have a friend and colleague in the automotive industry who recommended Simple Solutions when I was looking for developers. We had an online meeting and began the work.
How much have you invested with Simple Solutions?
The cost of Simple Solutions' work has been above $100,000.
What is the status of this engagement?
We started working with Simple Solutions in 2012. The projects have been completed. We haven't worked with Simple Solutions since then because of the economic crisis in our industry.
Could you share any evidence that would demonstrate the productivity, quality of work, or the impact of the engagement?
Simple Solutions created a tool which gave customers access to our currently available car stock. It allowed them to start the purchase process. We received around 50 orders through the system.
How did Simple Solutions perform from a project management standpoint?
Simple Solutions was very good in this respect. Their developers were always punctual and accomplished whatever we wanted. Simple Solutions allowed us to make changes at any point in our collaboration.

The fact that we were able to work with good people from Simple Solutions was most important for us.

There were situations when we didn't know how to build certain tools. Simple Solutions helped us and gave us options for our project.

What challenge were you trying to address with Simple Solutions?
We needed to find experienced web developers for a project development and future web support. We needed it in order to optimize the business processes for sales, orders, and shipping, to reduce the time for processing orders.
What was the scope of their involvement?
Some of the technologies they used included Yii Framework (not sure what version), PHP, jQuery, and Shopify/Walmart/Amazon API's.
Our CRM [customer relationship management] system for sunglasses and optical glasses accounts for stock availability, synchronization of sales, interaction with different sales platforms such as Amazon, Walmart, Shopify, as well as with third-party partners.
They assigned two developers and one manager to this project.
How much have you invested with Simple Solutions?
We have spent between $100,000 and $150,000.
Could you share any evidence that would demonstrate the productivity, quality of work, or the impact of the engagement?
It's still an on-going project. I am very satisfied with the results so far.
The work was conducted either directly with the developer, setting up the tasks and control of delivery, and later by a manager who staged and distributed tasks among developers. The manager also completed other tasks related to the project.
What did you find most impressive about Simple Solutions?
The optimum ratio of price and quality and their ability to provide different specialists for different tasks was very important to us. The actual development of this turnkey project was great as well.
Are there any areas Simple Solutions could improve?
Perhaps, I should have engaged more specialists to have the project completed sooner. However, it was my decision to only involve 2 specialists at the same time.
Simple Solutions' principal acted as a project manager, and he was quite strong. They also provided a flexible team which could be adapted based on needs. Better communication on the scope's increase was cited as an area for improvement.
