Real estate portal

Special social network for housing search. It helps to the people searching and leasing the houses to meet. The system picks the housing according to lifestyle, interests and preferred district given at the registration. It is integrated with Facebook, Gmail, WhatsApp, Stripe, RRD, Mailchimp.

CRM for real estate agents

CRM makes work on real estate units and collaboration between departments easier. Real estate agents can work using their smartphones: add information about estate units, find out about new meetings and bargains instantly. Not all employees have PCs and the Internet at home. With this app they don’t need to go to the office to take contracts or documents. This way we increased mobility of all employees and reduced time of final client's response.

The users of the system are real estate agents, employees of rental, credit and sales departments and top managers. The system is implemented in mortgaging and real estate departments.

Monitoring System

The system monitors temperature at industrial facilities. Next, it synchronizes data with temperature sensors and a reporting system. To ensure occupational safety, the system notifies users when the temperature is beyond norm. Also, the user keeps track of the temperature changes history, adjusts the counters to the specifics of their work (for example, if you need to receive notifications every evening) and creates sensors placement maps.

The monitoring system is used by warehouses, pharmacies, chemical and food industries and other enterprises where temperature and humidity affect the production and storage of goods.

Visitors tracking system

A comprehensive solution for counting visitors to shopping centers, amusement parks, etc. The system consists of wireless visitor counters, a program for collecting statistics and a program for viewing and analyzing statistics. The device counters the movement and the number of visitors. The program collects statistics from the counters and transfers them to a local computer or server. The reporting system automatically updates and stores data, and also builds reporting schedules.

The solution is used in shops and chain stores in the European Union. It allowed to increase sales of the major partners of our client: leading mobile network operator and european chain of сosmetics and perfume.

Portal for the property search

Portal for the property search in Lithuania. It allows you to search for property by geolocation, area, number of rooms and cost of housing. The users can choose the apartment themselves or contact an experienced realtor.

Portal for the US schools

This is an app for the US junior high schools which allows to see students’ progress. Users can see the students’ progress in particular subjects as well as combined cumulative grade point average which can be shown as a graph.

The system started working for 4 states in 2013 and has been working since.

Banking report system

Report system for tax return filing, it automates and simplifies tax return filing process for companies with simplified taxation system. The company prepares tax return and sends them to chosen local tax offices and monitors its processing status. The system is integrated with the client’s personal bank account.

Portal for financiers and accountants

Complex of events for professional media: financiers, accountants, HR managers and lawyers. Websites for 21 reference systems were created. These websites inform about upcoming and former seminars, conferences and a subscription website for information publications.

We included a personal account, signup, and also developed a tool for visual content editing. The administrator sees the way an event will be shown for users while editing it. We created a back office for 2400 employees and the platform based on Bitrix for 150 client’s partners which allows them to create websites and promote company’s services.

The app is for informing “Fererro Russia” employees on KPI-figures and progress on their accomplishment on different levels.
Users also get information about:

Chemical analysis app

The application is a user interface to monitor and manage the operations of the chemical plant and control information from the sensors. The device is called "The Vacuum Distillation Control". The user can get visual media about the conditions within the plant in tabular and graphical forms.

Medicate

The iPad application allows medical staff to get the access to the main workflow system. The key system functionalities are:
- Current tasks rewiev;
- Document confirmation/concellation after the speech recognition;
- Document saving/ editing;

The SOAP Framework has been developed to interract with web-services.

Lite Box

This mobile application is a software of a modern cashier with extended functions of money and goods accounting. The interface was designed using cloud technologies. The app allows to control money flows and goods. It is also integrated into cash register to print out the receipts

Mobile alarm

This mobile application allows to extend the car keychain's functions. It allows to open and close locks in distance, start and shut off the engine, track the car on a map, contact clients' support services and rescue  services in case of emergency.

CarPrice

This mobile application is designed for inspectors and car estimators. Car owner, after filling out an application upon the web site takes the car to the inspector to get it estimated. The mobile app allows the inspector to see the primary information about the car and put in the information about the car exam in the app. This data goes to the server form where it's sent to the car sale auction

Vintera TV

This application is the part of international multiscreen ViNTERA.TV platform. ViNTERA.TV app provides with hundreds of free TV channels from Internet and IPTV networks (Internet TV and Providers TV sections).  Online TV channels in SD, HD and 3D formats. Subscribers of more than 6000 providers and IPTV operators worldwide have access to TV channels of their local networks via ViNTERA.TV service. 

Globaliky

The following application is designed for keeping personal and public accounts. This solution allows transaction accounting and cash-flow management (debit, credit, margin). Management of accounting activities is subdivided into several groups: current and upcoming tasks, events, meetings and personal reminders. The function of budget setting is implemented through creation of non-recurrent and interval debit-credit values, as well as the function of target values management.

Best review

The system is for collecting reviews on companies from different business fields: education, medicine, industry, trade, transport. The users have an opportunity to sign in, choose a category, create a topic and leave feedback with attached photo, audio or video files, rate, leave comments and exchange messages. 

Tictate

The application informs users about the upcoming events: concerts, parties that the user can be potentially interested in. The application also gives information on the best ticket prices and helps save both time and money.

Life Button

Mobile application intended for people suffering diabetes and allergy. With a press of a single button, the following application sends urgent information on a person to 911, individual physician or relatives of the person. Geo-locating function, speech-to-text function, and the screen lock emergency button function were implemented to allow the application collecting all the necessary information, and which can be easily accessed in case of anaphylactic shock. A user adjusts his personal application and text messaging settings just once and as soon as the adjustment is done, he is able to call 911 and send a text message using just one button.

Yillio

A location-based application designed to receive information about discounts and promotional events offered by cafes, shops, hotels and gas stations. The application allows users issuing discount coupons and vouchers, and at the same time choosing places and tracking routes to reach them

Retail

The app is for Chelny-bread  retail chain. It provides users with the latest information on special offers and news of the shop. It also allows to manage bonuses (balance and history), look through purchase history, create shopping lists, find Chelny-bread shops in unknown areas and leave feedback on products and services. 

TV online

The application is designed for smartphone and tablet users. It allows users to:

- watch TV-shows that a company provides;

The most recent significant project had two main goals. The first was to change not only the UI design but the entire functionality of the internet banking application. The second was to complete the project within a narrow timeline of two months.

We were astounded by the depth and speed of SimbirSoft’s integration into our business and development process; in a matter of days, they became a part of our team. SKB Lab and the SimbirSoft team did an excellent job creating a new online banking platform for SKB Bank, SKB-Online. According to the 2017 Markswebb Rank & Report study, this project ranked 4th on the lists of Best Russian Internet Banking and Business Mobile Banking for Micro-Business.

How was project management arranged and how effective was it?

Their project layout included very measurable timelines for execution; for every milestone, they reported completion, waited for approval, and then moved forward. The process remained consistent with each change, which was helpful, because we were developing our project day-to-day according to the client’s needs and ideas in real time. Communication is always good, and we rarely have misunderstandings; our best practice was daily call meetings, during which we discussed ideas, solutions, and problems. They respond to our requests and meet our demands regardless of the circumstances.

Micromanagement is outdated, and management now is about quality and delivery, so rather than monitor the development process in detail or request in-depth explanations of task completions, we motivate them. Because every specialist we worked with demonstrated a high level of expertise and responsibility, all we did was set tasks and check their progress; SimbirSoft did the rest. They are receptive to feedback, involved in all of our discussions, and understand what needs to be done.

What did you find most impressive about this company?

I think the key to SimbirSoft's success is the people they employ. They approach projects from a business perspective, make time to figure out everything, and ensure they have a good grasp on project intent before actually executing. We were pleasantly surprised by the quality, service, and timeframe. We are glad to have found a partner who offers us full-spectrum, complex technical expertise. We wanted to automate our business processes to make them simpler. At the beginning of our work with SimbirSoft we had already implemented a CRM infrastructure, and we needed to develop different features for our business processes.

We also decided to develop a software for device diagnostics along with the CRM development. It helps us avoid the human factor and accelerate the diagnostic process. The software consists of Windows, iOS, and Android applications. SimbirSoft was responsible for the Windows development.

We looked on Facebook for a frontend team lead. A sales manager from SimbirSoft contacted me and we decided to engage them.

Describe the project in detail.

SimbirSoft's implemented our partner’s API from scratch, along with all related internal features. They set up autotests for the API methods' development CRM in order to implement a multiple users model. They also worked on IP telephony integration, push-notifications, and asynchronous requests to third-party APIs.

We implemented the windows application using C++. This was quite complicated and involved connecting with iOS/Android smartphones and installing the iOS/Android diagnostic application on the device. These and other features were completely built by SimbirSoft.

What was the team composition?

SimbirSoft provided us with two Python/Django specialists, one template designer, and two React developers. They also provided QA and DevOps specialists.

What outcomes or results can you share that demonstrate progress and/or success?

With our brand new CRM system, it has become much easier to handle our internal processes, which improved the overall organization of our company.

How effective was the project management?

Working with SimbirSoft has been effective and flexible. They organized the project management to fit our company needs. Since we are a startup, we change our processes regularly to see what works best, so our CRM system requirements change frequently. Because of this, I decided to manage the development process myself, so I could change and correct our processes on the fly and communicate those changes directly to the developers.

Our company developed a portal that unites various services in one place. Our services include: house reparations, tutoring, design, stylists etc. Users can log-in as a customer or as a service provider and easily solve any problem.

Our portal is a complicated system based on microservices, which allows us to develop and add new functionalities easily while maintaining adequate levels of integrity and performance.

In order to achieve our ambitious goal, we were looking for a large team of C++ developers. The fact that all team members were under one roof in order to communicate properly was important for us when looking for a contractor.

On our platform, users can register as both a customer and services provider. Customers leave requests for the services they need and the cost they are willing to pay for them. Providers respond to requests and discuss details with customers via private chats. This also works in reverse; the providers leave information about their services and the clients respond if they are interested. The system is also able to find a service according to a certain description and provider’s experience. If both customer and provider come to an agreement, the provider starts performing the services. The services can be paid for before or after the work is completed.

What were your goals for this project?

Our most important goal was to develop a user-friendly web platform and mobile application in order to break into the American market, starting off in New York, and eventually covering other regions. The mobile application was to be built for both iOS and Android.

We wanted our applications to be modern, bright, and user-friendly. SimbirSoft has been alongside us since the very beginning of the development process. We started off with a C++ team, then we extended our cooperation to involve them in frontend development, QA, and mobile development.

How did you select this vendor?

The most important criteria for us in the selection process was to choose specialists who had both the qualifications and experience for our project. We have had a number of interviews with SimbirSoft team members and realized they were exactly what we were looking for. We were looking for a large C++ team, had been very difficult to find.

The project work was done in 2 weeks sprints. There are more than 10 different services used, including: auth, chat, dictionary, event, geo, media, notify, offer, payments, recommend, a 3 node cluster on each server, continuous integration, Redis and Consul, Elastic search, XMPP-service, recommend service, geo-positioning and 2 dozens of technologies, including C++, Python, PostgreSQL, Docker, Nginx, Postman, Git (gitlab), JIRA, Ansible, Bamboo CI, Groovy, JUnit, Redis, Memcached, Consul, Vagrant, ZeroMQ, Google Testing, node.js, Elasticsearch, Dxmpp, Erlang.

What was the team composition?

We have an allocation team, which consists of over 20 people, and includes various branches, such as analytics, frontend, backend, quality assurance, elastic search and more. Each team branch has a team-lead, who is in charge of the work process.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

What outcomes or results can you share that demonstrate progress and/or success?

We managed to deliver the general look and feel of the application that we set out to develop. More than that, SimbirSoft helped us develop a web portal that unites all the offered services in one place. When registering, the user fills out a survey, where they mention what it is that they need, to give us a better idea of how the platform is being used. 

SimbirSoft helped us develop the product's entire functionality. The portal was first released in January 2017. At this point (December 2017), we have more than 30,000 registered users on the portal, which is a great result for us. We've continued developing the portal in parallel with the mobile app, as we are certain that this will help to attract more users and make our product more popular.

How effective was the project management?

Initially, SimbirSoft provided a dedicated manager to solve any organizational issues. They also designated a team-lead to control and distribute tasks. As the project grew, our lead architect needed help collecting, analyzing, and processing large amounts of information, along with engineering requirements, forming descriptions for our documentation workflow, decomposing tasks, and coming up with sprints plans. SimbirSoft provided that help, making it easier to work on tasks and get faster feedback regarding those tasks. In addition, we received transparent reports on what has been accomplished, which was very important.

What did you find most impressive about this company?

SimbirSoft’s team worked extra hours when we had a tight deadline and a number of tasks to accomplish in order to achieve the necessary functionality for our first release. They worked even during the winter holiday season, which proves again how seriously they took our project. Whenever we needed to reinforce the team, our dedicated manager involved more qualified specialists, allowing us to keep the development process' pace and timeline.

What was the scope of their involvement?

We started our collaboration with SimbirSoft doing C++ development for 2 additional modules that we had to create for a client product. SimbirSoft has also helped us develop other mainstream applications, web products, and so on. We've used many different resources from SimbirSoft, including their testing department.

We work on a time-and-materials basis and receive monthly bills for the number of hours spent. We do require some kind of estimations in advance, but many of our products function within a changing environment. If a product is developed over the course of a year, its requirements may change significantly, so we can't allow ourselves to be limited to an initial scope. If the change needs to be made, I have to make it immediately, not after 3 months of requirements reviews.

Over the course of 6 years, SimbirSoft has done a lot of work for us. The best testament to the quality of work that they're doing is that we're still working with them after all this time. There were some issues over the course of these 6 years, but we've continued to work with SimbirSoft because we could always call their CEO or any of the managers and tell them that there's something we'd like changed. Any issues we've had were always resolved.

How did SimbirSoft perform from a project management standpoint?

Initially, we were managing projects completely on our side, and SimbirSoft only handled development. They did have a representative in charge of communication, but he was more of a tech lead rather than a pure project manager. On some cases, this worked well for us, but when we came to bigger projects lasting for up to a year and a half, things started to become too complicated. On most projects, we will handle most of the development work and SimbirSoft will only assist us on a specific module, but in a particular instance, all the work was done on SimbirSoft's side. It was a bit challenging for us to manage it without having someone involved on our side. This convinced us to ask for a pure product manager on SimbirSoft's side, who would be responsible for doing what we needed within areas which had lesser-detailed requirements. The approached worked pretty well.

Some development methodologies require a rational unified process, with true requirements fully outlined. We employ more Agile and scrum methods, with SimbirSoft doing the development and getting immediate feedback and change requests from us.

What did you find most impressive about SimbirSoft?

For me, the best quality that a company can have is being ready to adapt to the needs of a particular customer, like ourselves. Our business is software development and we have very specific work procedures, unlike those of other developers. SimbirSoft had a different approach than ours, but they were able to accommodate the necessary changes in order to have a successful relationship.

Are there any areas SimbirSoft could improve?

We had a few issues when some employees from SimbirSoft left the company and there was a transfer period towards new management, but our company has had the same problem, and it can be a hard process for anyone to take care of. When a tech manager leaves a group, the new person will need time to adapt. For most customers, this won't be a significant issue. Most people order specific products and simply have them developed, instead of having a 5-6-year collaboration.

What tips or recommendations could you share that might increase the likelihood of success with SimbirSoft?

I would advise clients to be open and honest from the very beginning and not wait until it's too late to discuss issues, particular needs, or requirements. If the customer does this, they will have a good relationship with SimbirSoft.

We used our own project management software, PowerSteering, for the collaboration. SimbirSoft adopted it for in-house use as well. After we became acquired by our parent company, we started using Jira, as it was the corporate-wide platform.

SimbirSoft was very diligent and efficient. Language was the biggest barrier for them, but compared to other Russian teams we've used, SimbirSoft was better, and improved every day. We were able to speak to them on the phone, and give the team a chance to practice their English. We've worked together with SimbirSoft, and we didn't put an emphasis on putting one team against the other. Some resources may have been better or faster than others, but we always had great respect for SimbirSoft, and treated them as equals.

English skills can always be improved, but our project manager addressed this, translating messages if necessary.
