I’m the CEO of ThaiTechPro, a startup that provides free job boards for IT freelancers and companies.
What challenge were you trying to address with SennaLabs?
I needed a website for the business.
What was the scope of their involvement?
After I presented my ideas and information to them, SennaLabs provided consulting services, helping me scope out the best features and designs. They then designed and developed the website.
What is the team composition?
There were 4–5 people on the team. My main point of contact was the project manager.
How did you come to work with SennaLabs?
I chose them because I felt confident in their ability to complete the project on time.
How much have you invested with them?
We invested $60,000.
What is the status of this engagement?
We worked on the project from October–December 2019.
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
There were some bugs, but SennaLabs fixed them, and they provided support for three months after the project was completed. The team was responsible, and I liked their input and opinions that helped produce the best website. I’m satisfied with the final product.
How did SennaLabs perform from a project management standpoint?
Their project management was quite good. The project manager and I met bi-weekly. SennaLabs did a good job of helping me finish tasks on time.
What did you find most impressive about them?

UI/UX Design for Golf Instruction & Entertainment Facility
"I was pleased and surprised at how fast and well they could do things."

A Clutch analyst personally interviewed this client over the phone. Below is an edited transcript.
Introduce your business and what you do there.
I’m the owner of an indoor golf practice facility called City Golf Club.
What challenge were you trying to address with SennaLabs?
We needed virtual golf technology. I’d already built it but took it to the next level with API and development work.
What was the scope of their involvement?
They helped with two things: what they would call the UX design of the application and the functionality of it. I worked hand-in-hand with them on updating the visuals and how the consumer or customer would log-in to the application. From there, they went ahead and tidied up what was already present, making it faster and more functional.
The technology I used is TrackMan. It’s a Doppler radar device. With their API, which I’ve given permission to, I’ve developed a virtual lesson engine that gives your rankings after you take a shot. That’s what they took a step further, the design of the application and how well the tech would respond to that.
What is the team composition?
Rick was my main point of contact. There was probably a total of 4–5 people on the team.
How did you come to work with SennaLabs?
I’d used them for a different project, liked it, and decided to go ahead with them on this. The other project was all about project management.
How much have you invested with them?
We spent $7,000 with them.
What is the status of this engagement?
We worked together in February 2020.
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
I’m very pleased overall. The design is a lot more popular and eye-catching for customers, and the functionality is much easier to use. It was a great experience.
How did SennaLabs perform from a project management standpoint?
We use Slack to communicate, which worked great. We also used Pivotal Tracker. They were very much at or ahead of deadlines.
What did you find most impressive about them?
Their ability to get things done on my timeline was key. They were respectful of that. As someone who’s new to the technology arena, I was pleased and surprised at how fast and well they could do things. What seemed to be a big task to me was just another task to them. It was neat to see how well they could respond and communicate at such.
Are there any areas they could improve?
I don’t think so. Communication and deliverables were great. It was all satisfactory.
Do you have any advice for potential customers?
They’re willing to go as fast as you are. Sometimes I wasn’t able to respond to them as fast as I wanted to.

App Development for a Short Term Employment Company
“There’s always room for improvement, but they’re an outstanding firm.”
the reviewer
the review
A Clutch analyst personally interviewed this client over the phone. Below is an edited transcript.
Introduce your business and what you do there.
I’m the co-founder and managing director of GrabCasual. Our platform enables hotels and restaurants to reach the millennial workforce easily and efficiently.
What challenge were you trying to address with SennaLabs?
Hotels in Thailand have issues finding personnel for peak periods. Having firsthand experience with that problem, I was always annoyed by the amount of time it took to find resources. I wanted to streamline that process by utilizing modern technology, but needed an experienced firm to build our web app.
What was the scope of their involvement?
SennaLabs developed my company’s cloud-based web app from scratch. Rick (Managing Director and Founder, SennaLabs) advised us not to build too much initially. Therefore, we launched a reasonably simple version, and he guided us through the whole process.
They used Ruby on Rails to create the backend and presented design elements through InVision. That way, I could quickly provide feedback regarding each UI/UX iteration. Overall, they led the creative direction for the app’s frontend interface. Now that we’ve launched, hotels use the app to post jobs; and individuals apply through the employment portal. Applicants can be rated, have their attendance tracked, and receive notifications through SMS.
What is the team composition?
Rick is our main point of contact, but we also work with three designers and two programmers.
How did you come to work with SennaLabs?
A mutual colleague introduced me to Rick. I initially approached Rick for a different project, and he gave me his professional feedback. I decided to not go ahead with that project but had a different idea a couple of months later. After approaching him again, we decided to go through with the new plan.
How much have you invested with them?
We’ve spent just over $110,000.
What is the status of this engagement?
We started working with SennaLabs in October 2017, and the platform we went live in February 2018. They perform ongoing support and maintenance.
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
The app is just web-based at the moment, but it’s working well. I want to develop it further, but this has to be discussed with future investors. It’s difficult to optimize software when targeting the hospitality market. The industry tends to move slowly, but we have 7–8 major hotels using the full version of the app at the moment. We currently have 5,500 people registered on the app. They’re all organic users that found us through Facebook and Twitter. The feedback has been fantastic, and the demand is there.
How did SennaLabs perform from a project management standpoint?
I’m new to this process, but SennaLabs always provides valuable insights. They discuss items with me ahead of time and are generally professional. Using Pivotal Tracker, I’m able to oversee the whole project. They keep me involved every step of the way.
What did you find most impressive about them?
I haven’t worked with other providers, so I can’t say what they do differently.
Are there any areas they could improve?
This was a new process for me, so it’s difficult to say what SennaLabs could’ve done better. However, if someone were to ask me about service providers, I’d guide them to this team.
Do you have any advice for future clients of theirs?
I’d advise clients to stay close to Rick and let him handle everything. He’s the owner of the company, so he’ll ensure each integration goes smoothly.
SennaLabs provided satisfactory work and they helped the client determine an ongoing strategy. The team's workflow was regular and effective. Remaining flexible, they were responsive to feedback and the channels were open and collaborative.
