Introduce your business and what you do there.
I’m the founder and principal of an insurance agency called ICY Legacy, which stands for Insured Communities Yield Legacy.
What challenge were you trying to address with S4 Connect?
I needed someone to build and develop a website.
What was the scope of their involvement?
I hired S4 Connect to help build a website and assist me in conceptualizing my ideas and bringing them to life. I provided them with the necessary information for the content of the website, and they put together a powerful and resonating website.
Some of the features on the website include a recruitment section, a private portal where I can connect training modules and communicate with the agents, and they implemented an educational theme instead of a sales-focused one. Apart from that, they also aligned all of my social media accounts to make sure they can seamlessly connect to the website.
Moreover, they provide us with content writing, video production, and photography. I supply them with the photographs and they upload and arrange them on the site. They’re currently doing maintenance for us and every quarter, we get together to discuss updates or changes to the platform.
What is the team composition?
We mainly communicate with Dan (Co-Founder & CMO) and Lance (Co-Founder & CEO), and they’re very hands-on with the entire process.
How did you come to work with S4 Connect?
I did some research online and talked to about 6–7 different organizations. We chose them because of their knowledge, intelligence, and openness — that separated them from the crowd.
How much have you invested with them?
We spent somewhere around $2,000–$2,500.
What is the status of this engagement?
Our ongoing partnership started in January 2020.
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
Since partnering with them, the number of impressions and engagement I get from my social media ads has steadily increased. I’ve also gotten great feedback from my circle of people and 1,700 of my clients. My agents have also been able to promote the website easily, so they’re driving most of the traffic for their own benefit.
S4 Connect has also helped start the basic foundation of growing my agency, and has given me the level of credibility in the world that we live in because most of my clients are older. It provides them that level of comfortability when talking to one of our agents.
How did S4 Connect perform from a project management standpoint?
They’ve been excellent from a project management standpoint, and they finish all their tasks within the timeframe. There have been little issues that we needed to correct, so the experience has just been overall seamless. We usually communicate through Zoom, email, and in person.
What did you find most impressive about them?
We like that they listen and supply what we discuss and decide on instead of pushing for the easy way out. They want to know exactly what I want so they can deliver exactly that.
Are there any areas they could improve?
I think it would be better if they have advertising and marketing packages for people like myself, who don’t understand how to self-market. It would enable people to learn how to market themselves, and I’d be a high candidate if they offered something like that.
Do you have any advice for potential customers?
I would say have a good idea of what you want because nobody can help you if you don’t. S4 Connect did an excellent job of taking the requirements I communicated and brought my vision to life. So if you want to get the most of the partnership, make sure you have a concept of what you want first.

I'm the COO of Hershey Insurance Group, integrates all major operating functions of the company.
For what projects/services did your company hire S4 Connect?
Hershey Insurance Group participates in an annual Michigan CPA Event where their President & CEO, Don White is invited to deliver a 60-minute presentation to members of the event. The 2020 event will be held on June 24th and would be conducted via a remote/virtual web-conferencing technology due to COVID.
What were your goals for this project?
Develop a professional virtual presentation on short notice that will best replicate the traditional in-person experience.
How did you select S4 Connect?
We were given short notice that event was moving to online due to Covid and we reached out to S4 for a recommendation and they took on the project for us.
Describe the scope of their work in detail.
Hershey Insurance Group leveraged the consulting and presentation services of S4 Connect to assist with the preparation and execution of the event. S4 Connect performed the following activities and deliverables:
- Meet with Don White and Chuck Whitelam to kick-off the project and to become educated on the typical presentation content and materials that have been shared at past events.
- Develop a presentation narrative theme and framework for the 2020 event.
- Create 10 to 20 emotionally engaging presentation slides and talking points.
- Assist with the technology set-up and execution of the virtual presentation. Assistance will be offered at the Client’s office or can be held at S4 Connect’s office. A dry run of the presentation, using similar technology will be performed prior to the actual virtual event.
- S4 Connect anticipates that all activities can be completed in 10 hours.
What was the team composition?
Hershey Insurance Group's Chief Executive Officer, Don White, and Chief Operating Officer Chuck Whitelam joined by S4's CEO Lance Docken and CMO Dan Woodford.
Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?
Participants reached out after with positive feedback and S4 transitioned the participant list to an in-house nurturing campaign.
