A Clutch analyst personally interviewed this client over the phone. Below is an edited transcript.
Introduce your business and what you do there.
I am an advance team leader, independent consultant at Usborne Books & More — it’s one organization that Riley (Owner) helps us with. She also helps me with MLD Sales Academy, which is an online platform for people who are training hospitality individuals.
What challenge were you trying to address with Rylee's PA Services?
Rylee takes all the creative work off my hand so I can focus on details. Right now, she’s in charge of Facebook, Instagram, and she’s working on setting up our YouTube page.
What was the scope of their involvement?
She does all my social media which includes creating posts and content for Instagram and Facebook. She’s also working for my website now. Moreover, she schedules some looks for my approval and she does a lot of research for me. Basically, she’s my marketing division.
When we first started, I knew I wanted all the three social media platforms I’ve mentioned to be funneled together, but I didn’t know how. As a result, she had to present different options on scheduling, tools, and apps to use to get that done. Later on, she shared with me an app that we currently use for some of our platforms. After I decide on that, she really utilizes the tool she has proposed.
For instance, this weekend she had all of January posts created and scheduled including original content and graphics using our branding. In connection with that, I usually just go in and review what she has done and let her know if there are any tweaks or changes.
We are also starting a big giveaway and Rylee has been looking for some new tools for us to do that and ways on how to funnel people into our business page. She is spearheading that project and tomorrow we will be testing it. Basically, I need people to like, comment, and share our project. After our review this weekend, she’s going to funnel them all into a landing page and collect the email database. After that, she will work on a template for our newsletter — she does a lot of creative marketing tasks for me. I check in with her 2–3 times a week, or as needed if something needs to be approved.
She also has ongoing work of recruiting and growing my VIP group. I want to have 10 new members each day. To do that, we do a quick briefing each month to know my goals and metrics — to perhaps think about how to tweak our funnels and the content that we’re sharing.
What is the team composition?
I only work with Riley.
How did you come to work with Rylee's PA Services?
She was referred to me by someone who’s in the industry.
How much have you invested with them?
We’ve spent an estimate of $8,000–$12,000.
What is the status of this engagement?
Our engagement started in December 2018, and we continue to work with them.
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
She’s been wonderful and I’ve been able to look at the analytics at the end of each month. Overall, Riley has been pretty good with receiving tasks and running with them.
How did Rylee's PA Services perform from a project management standpoint?
I have the pleasure of working with Riley directly, and she’s very responsive. As far as hitting deadlines is concerned, we’ve never had a problem. They've been able to exceed my expectations. We do a lot of our communication through email and phone. We’ve tried Trello once, but I’m a little too old school for that. I’m sure she would’ve preferred to use that system, but she bears with me.
What did you find most impressive about them?
I find Riley to be very down to earth and she doesn’t overpromise anything. If anything, she’s done nothing but under promise and over deliver — and I find that hard to come by.
Are there any areas they could improve?
No, I don’t think they should do anything different. She’s awesome.
Do you have any advice for potential customers?
I would say working with Riley has been a pleasure. If you want to work with her, be realistic in your expectations. For us, she has been nothing but honest and has delivered on everything that I’ve ever asked.
If you ask something unrealistic, be prepared to hear the honest truth — it’s always good to have a sounding board. Overall, be open to feedback because she is just as much a part of your team as she is someone you’re hiring.
