We are international wholesale and retailer company with various applications, processes, transactions and security developments. I am accountable for application development, QA and Business Development.

For what projects/services did your company hire Rocketlab?

Rocketlab came to setup a complete software testing infrastructure and created an excellent environment for continuous testing embedded in our development pipeline.

What were your goals for this project?

We had QA before, of course. From Rocketlab we expected to become more automated, implement AI testing and have experts to tell us what we can do/ better.

How did you select Rocketlab?

We have had several evaluation rounds with onsite and near-shoring companies (only EU based) and Rocketlab was the brightest start amongst all of them.

Describe the project in detail.

I do not want to get into details. But what I can say is that we now have a fully automated environment where new commits will be tested automatically. Rocketlab is also maintaining the infrastructure (CI/ CD pipeline, mobile devices farm, test automation scripts), doing also functional testing, QA strategy consulting and much more.

What was the team composition?

They started with 3 consultans whereas one was more the brain and lead, second guy was more for infrastructure and third was the test automation expert. Indeed an excellent constellation. My company soon extended the team and we have setup of 12 people full-time working for us at this moment.

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

Not to share too many insights I can say that Rocketlab is on top of things, knowing the most current techniques and methods with a brilliant team. They came in and they work together with our internal staff as if they were our own employees.

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

We let them lead the ramp up phase and that was so efficient that we kept the leading guy to act more as a communication beacon between us and them. IT cannot be any better.

What did you find most impressive about this company?

Their brilliant understanding of our situation when they came in, the way the set up (not to forget the speed!) all QA environment and the easy way to work with them for an excellent price.

Are there any areas for improvement?

There are always, but Rocketlab sees things very clearly, they bring thins on the table for us to be aware of. Rocketlab always presents solutions rather than problems.

I am the CEO of a digital network incubator in the healthcare sector. Together with our partners we build digital networks for medical specialists.

For what projects/services did your company hire Rocketlab?

In this project, Rocket Lab was given the task by our partner of implementing regression test processes that enable the automatic execution of systematic tests of end-user applications (mobile applications & web applications).

What were your goals for this project?

Our goal in working with rocketlab in this project was to be able to identify and correct serious defects in the application prior to deployment by implementing automated regression tests during the final acceptance of the implemented software by the partner.

How did you select Rocketlab?

Rocket lab has been selected previously by our partner for other projects.

Rocketlab's services are part of the supply chain through which we supply more than 25,000 surgeons worldwide with the applications of our Community Platform.

Rocketlab has set up a dedicated, fully automated regression test environment for this project.

With the help of these procedures and the corresponding processes operated by Rocketlab, it became possible to implement the final signoff processes considerably faster and with better quality and to make the applications available to the surgeons earlier.

Rocketlab has provided its own, autonomous project team for this project (project manager, test engineers)

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

The processes implemented by Rockletlab significantly reduced the risk of delivering faulty software. The signoff processes and times have been significantly reduced.

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

Rocketlab has seamlessly integrated into our lean and agile processes.

What did you find most impressive about this company?

It was impressive to see how the team was committed to meeting ambitious goals despite very tight deadlines and a heavy workload.

This willingness has enabled us to fully achieve the overall goals in the software area in 2020.

New York Coffee Company is a retailer for premium espresso machines and grinders (b2c and b2b) operating online with various web shops, portals and marketplace collaborations. Established in 2008 New York Coffee is now one of Germany`s leading retailer in this section.

For what projects/services did your company hire Rocketlab?

We needed a reliable company for testing our different webshops, payment modules and data security. As New York Coffee is not a big global player, budget was very limited at the beginning and Rocketlab allowed us to start small and grow with our requirements and turnover.

What were your goals for this project?

SOLUTION

How did you select this vendor?

We reviewed online and found this company offering remote services for smaller budgets. The offered a wide portfolio of testing and we had the impression that they were professionals in web based solutions.

Describe the project in detail.

We run various online shops (intershop Enfinity, Magento) that are linked to 3rd party applications (marketplaces, CRM, WaWi and more). It is crucial that all functions user would expect from a professional web shop are fully and error-free implemented. Both shop vendors offer several updates annually that we deploy quickly. All functionality must be tested before deployment (on our test system) but also on production environment. Rocketlab setup a test automation framework to quickly run baseline tests, provider quick test results and proceed with more in-depth testing (ie. e2e testing, security) on a nightly basis.

What was the team composition?

First sessions were held remotely were we (New York Coffee) presented our needs, hurts and requirements. Rocketlab offered solutions and variants. During the first years we optimized a sort of standard scenario (baseline test automation, standard security tests) to always be on the safe side after upgrade deployment. After a while more variants were added, like process testing, user experience (UX) and more.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

The most important win was to have a very fast response to all functionality of the shops after upgrade works. Sometimes (thanks not often) conflicts occur and these must be solved very quickly. The above mentioned test automation framework tool some effort to be set up and also maintenance requires a permanent budget, but in the end it gives us a lot of more time to focus on things that are important to do within in the company and daily work and we can be sure that our shops run always with all required functions, user-friendly and added (3rd) party systems always receive all required data for a hassle-free interaction.

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

Excellent. Although we communicated almost only remotely we did not feel that we miss something. It seems that Rocketlab is almost available 24h, but fixes and test scenario alterations were provided very fast. One more big advantage is that Rocketlab started with a very small team (due to our limited budget) and we grew together after years.

What did you find most impressive about this company?

Thy have different people with different experiences, knowledge. It seems that for every challenge they have a person that can solve it.

Are there any areas for improvement?

I don't know any things to be made better in our constellation. I am content - very much!

The AO's world-leading institutes drive development, innovation, and research, across the AO by delivering value-added products and services to the AO's clinical divisions, clinical unit, its global network of surgeons and operating room personnel, and to its partners.

They produce new concepts for improved fracture care, deliver evidence-based decision making, guarantee rigorous concept and product approval, and ensure the timely and comprehensive dissemination of knowledge and expertise. In our company I am the Quality & Security Manager.

For what projects/services did your company hire Rocketlab?

We had the challenge to set up a comprehensive test environment including as much automated tests as possible for our heterogene applications and IT infrastructure. Furthermore several testing cycles of all different client-facing applications need to be tested and that causes an enormous manual effort.

Rocketlab brought in a test infrastructure and test experts where our velocity raised very soon, duration of testing times decreased to a minimum and first feedback to application quality was available within some minutes (before sometimes even days).

What were your goals for this project?

Professional and up-to-date test infrastructure, regression tests automated, comprehensive test coverage and quick test cycles.

How did you select this vendor?

I got to know this company at a conference I visited where Rocketlab presented some strategies that made me curious.

Describe the project in detail.

Functional and performance testing of AO client facing applications and mobile apps, as well as internal data transfers and interaction of affected components/ middleware applications. As the only internal of AO, I was SPOC and the person Rocketlab had to report to.

Rocketlab was accountable for introduction and setup of testing tools, test automation, test strategy and (this is the most challenging part) test exectutions with our continuous delivery pipeline.

What was the team composition?

We have 3 Rocketlab employees contracted responsible for tool operations, training, test creation and execution, reporting, performance testing and more. The team size grew as we started with only 1 person at the beginning.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

1. Quicker quality response of new releases - 95% less time 
2. Cost saving through test automation of ca. 80%
3. Much better confidence in the quality of all applications due to automated tests and checks (continuous execution)

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

With one person permanently onsite orchestrating the remote experts communication with more than satisfying. Also test reports were mainly created automated that I was able to check results and status at any time.

What did you find most impressive about this company?

The flexibility and ability to scale up is a great benefit and let us successfully release applications were we had much more efforts before.
