Supporting the therapy of cognitive deficits
AbaStroke is a young startup from Poland aspiring to build a DiGA (digital health application) that supports the rehabilitation of cognitive deficits in post-stroke patients, using Applied Behaviour Analysis methodology. ABAStroke chose us as their software development partner, because they needed a certified medical software development services provider who’s flexible, who understands a healthcare startup’s needs, and is ready to guide them through their certification process.
This is an ongoing project, in which we’re responsible for the entirety of software development and most of the technical documentation, while working closely with ABAStroke’s administrative, neuropsychological, design, and machine learning teams. Our Head Of Regulatory Affairs consults MDR certification process with the founders on a weekly basis, and we analyse the project’s risks and ways of mitigating them together.

Facilitate the blood sample collection
Smart4Diagnostics is a technology startup from Germany supported by the EIT-Health, the UnternehmerTUM and the European Union. Their product is a smart system that helps to manage all processes from blood collection until lab analysis, increasing patient safety, the quality of medical decisions and lab testing efficiency.
One of the areas S4DX decided to digitise was blood samples registration at the point of collection. Together, we created a mobile application for Android platforms to be used by medical workers after they collect the blood sample from the patient. A medical worker can scan the barcode on the blood sample and send the information to the lab right away via the S4DX data analytics platform. This improves the entire process efficiency and accuracy. The app has been positively evaluated by Roche Diagnostics and is now available in the company’s cobas® pulse system.

A Clutch analyst personally interviewed this client over the phone. Below is an edited transcript.
Introduce your business and what you do there.
I’m the CEO and co-founder of a company developing digital health technology for incontinence management. We focus on solutions for geriatric patients in nursing homes and hospitals.
What challenge were you trying to address with Revolve Healthcare?
We needed help to develop our web application for our sensing device.
What was the scope of their involvement?
Revolve Healthcare is building a web application for us. First, we worked through the different workflows with the team and discussed the ideation. Then, we created some screens. We had some previous designs and user requirements the team has built on. Revolve Healthcare has redesigned some aspects and implemented new features. They’re now developing the complete solution for us. The team will be in charge of maintenance, including debugging the app.
What is the team composition?
We’re working with 6–8 people, including a project manager, a UI/UX designer, a QA person, and back- and frontend developers.
How did you come to work with Revolve Healthcare?
We were part of an incubation program together. One of their co-CEOs was our mentor through that program, so we decided to take on Revolve Healthcare’s services once we got further along.
How much have you invested with them?
We’ve spent about €75,000 (approximately $76,000 USD).
What is the status of this engagement?
We started working together in February 2022, and the engagement is ongoing.
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
We're very satisfied with Revolve Healthcare's work. Looking at our assumptions before the engagement, including the timeline and budget, we're quite happy with the results. Their estimations have been quite realistic; some things have cost less than predicted, which has balanced with their maximum cost estimate.
How did Revolve Healthcare perform from a project management standpoint?
They perform really well in terms of meeting deadlines. Their communication is really on point when things will take more time than estimated. They always tell me things beforehand, so we're in the know when things need to be reconsidered.
We use Jira, Confluence, and Slack for communication and collaboration and have an ongoing conversation during weekly check-in meetings. As a result, we always know where we're at, and it's very clear how long tasks will take. We work as a team with Revolve Healthcare to determine what makes the most sense in prioritization. When it comes to cost estimations, we're very on par with their realistic assumptions, so we're happy with that aspect.
What did you find most impressive about them?
I'm impressed with Revolve Healthcare's project management and their clear documentation and communication. They have a lot of excellent standards in place that translate to good working conditions. As a result, it's easy to work with them and understand where we're at.
Additionally, the team is really involved with the project. They bring ideas and creative solutions to the table and take extra steps to contribute to the project's development outside our requests. Regardless of their position, the whole Revolve Healthcare team is really engaged, which is awesome.
Are there any areas they could improve?
I can't think of any constructive feedback; we're quite happy.
Do you have any advice for potential customers?
My advice would be to understand your top needs. If you don't know how to prioritize, be very transparent about your company's status and technical expertise so that Revolve Healthcare can build upon that.

Please describe your company and your position there.
I am the founder, CEO and medical lead of a biotech start-up find the cancer diagnostics space based in Berlin, Germany.
For what projects/services did your company hire Revolve Healthcare, and what were your goals?
We needed a developer team capable of translating our ML algorithm from the MatLab research code into a fully functional and automated python software (SaMD). The development needed to be compliant with IEC62304 and IVDR risk class C, including all documentation.
How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?
We connected to Revolve a long time ago at an event and added them to our CRM as a potential partner for outsourcing software development packages. After engaging in detailed conversations with multiple software development companies and receiving audacious offers (range € 150k to € 500k) we went with Revolve who managed to get the job done at a low fraction of this price.
Describe the scope of work in detail, including the project steps, key deliverables, and technologies used.
They developed a python based SaMD, including automated testing and documentation, that could receive data from multiple types of input devices and process raw data to provide a binary diagnostic result.
How many people from the vendor's team worked with you, and what were their positions?
There were 4 people in the team. One project manager, 2 developers and one quality manager.
Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?
The work packages were executed in a very fast, professional, and flexible manner. They finished within a shorter time frame than initially assumed.
Describe their project management style, including communication tools and timeliness.
During the development GitHub, Jira and Slack were the primary tools used. There were daily stand-up meetings and weekly reviews.
What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?
Price, speed and quality.
Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?
Initially, there was a little bit of confusion due to the unforeseen shortage of developers. This was handled very efficiently by Revolve, without loss of time.

Please describe your company and your position there.
Im the founder and CEO of sustainable wellness tech firm Motko.
For what projects/services did your company hire Revolve Healthcare, and what were your goals?
Revolve developed our MVP and continuous to provide tech support for our firm.
How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?
I interviewed many, many shops. Deciding factors: price/quality of work + the team. I had tight timeframe + budget. From all the shops I spoke with, management team at Revolve stood out with their friendly ( yet, firm) approach. Business-friendly mindset. Even when I was looking for services outside the scope of the project, they were happy to help.
Describe the scope of work in detail, including the project steps, key deliverables, and technologies used.
UX/UI design was mostly done pre collaboration with Revolve. The team did all the necessary steps for development ( from scratch), including cloud setup, communication organisation etc
How many people from the vendor's team worked with you, and what were their positions?
There were 4 people on the team -- project leader ( who is also the team leader), senior backend engineer and two junior frontend engineers. However, if needed there were more people available ( for example, graphical designer was also involved few times, as well as other senior engineers).
Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?
I am happy with the outcome -- MVP works and looks great. Positive feedback from clients. We continue working with Revolve; they are our tech partners and will be continuing development of further functionalities.
Describe their project management style, including communication tools and timeliness.
The main tools for communication new Jira and Slack. We had a daily standup every morning. If there were any pending question, project leader followed up very timely.
No points were left unresolved. Moreover, management was always available, which I think is very important if you are looking for a continuous collaboration ( instead of 1-time thing, common mentality you see from dev shops due to uncertainty around startups liquidity in the future)).
What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?
As a wellness tech founder, I admire the team's focus on healthcare for the firm. For me, it is important that parties we work with are aligned with our values. Hence, culturally I felt it was a great fit. I would highlight the collaborative nature within the firm -- while your project has a dedicated team, if there is something urgent or the team required more help, it is available in the firm. At no time do you feel left alone.
Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?
I will let you know in the future :)

Introduce your business and what you do there.
I am the CIO and partner at Plata.
What challenge were you trying to address with Revolve Healthcare?
They helped us develop custom software.
What was the scope of their involvement?
Revolve Healthcare provided software development for us. We operate in the fintech industry and we are building a loaning platform where normal people can borrow and loan money with each other. The team built the web-based platform in .NET core, SQL, and REST services with React-Redux on top.
What is the team composition?
Our main points of contact are the administrative director and the CTO. They are also the founders.
How did you come to work with Revolve Healthcare?
In this case, I chose them because I had worked with them before. The first time, I chose to work with them because of a personal referral from someone else that had used them before.
How much have you invested in them?
Right now, we invest around $5,000 per month and about $15,000 to date. From April, it will be around $8,000 per month.
What is the status of this engagement?
We started around November 2020, and it is ongoing.
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
Their team has been working in collaboration with our Danish team. The cooperation has been running smoothly. We've seen success so far, and I am happy with the engagement. They are competent developers, and we are getting what we are paying for.
How did Revolve Healthcare perform from a project management standpoint?
We use Microsoft Teams and email to collaborate, as well as online meetings using Slack and Jira.
What did you find most impressive about them?
The word I would use for them is integrity. They are a really trustworthy team. When they agree to something, they will come through with it.
From a technical perspective, this is a house with technically strong developers. Their technical skills are where they are supposed to be, so I am very happy with their technological know-how.
Are there any areas they could improve?
Not really. I am very happy, and I am getting exactly what I am looking for.
Do you have any advice for potential customers?
You get more for your money with Revolve than you do with a lot of their competitors.

A Clutch analyst personally interviewed this client over the phone. Below is an edited transcript.
Introduce your business and what you do there.
My company is called Frostlight, and I am the founder and the CEO of the company. We have our own internal projects, but primarily, we are helping other businesses with their projects when it comes to various IT products.
What challenge were you trying to address with Revolve Healthcare?
Initially, we had a specific project we were asked to take over. Normally, that is not an issue; however, they were done in some very specific programming languages which at the time, we didn’t have the perfect team for.
What was the scope of their involvement?
Initially, it was only a mobile app that had a couple of features for iOS and Android, and then the product expanded into also being able to do certain things on the web as well. Even on the app, it has expanded feature-wise more than twice than what we started with.
What is the team composition?
There have been two people the whole time, and there have been three that have been on an as-needed basis.
How did you come to work with Revolve Healthcare?
Revolve came highly recommended through another partner that we have, and we decided to check them out because they were good at those specific things we needed. We gave them a small task at the start just to fix a few things to try out their capabilities. It worked out great with both the results and communication-wise which is important to us, so we decided to keep going.
What is the status of this engagement?
It began in November 2019, and it hasn’t really ended.
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
We work with developers all the time, both internal in Sweden and outside of Sweden. We look at the results ourselves and with our own teams, so it is more in that regard. We have been really satisfied with what Revolve has been able to do for us so far.
How did Revolve Healthcare perform from a project management standpoint?
We had one person start quite swiftly after we began, who took on the project management role. They have done everything that we asked for. We don’t use much email at all. We use Slack, Asana, and communicate on Google Hangouts as well.
What did you find most impressive about them?
The most impressive thing, to a large extent, has been that we just have one resource doing most of the development which is highly impressive. I have been very satisfied with the general communication with the owners as well.
Are there any areas they could improve?
Maybe if I thought about it a little longer, but nothing comes to mind right now.
Do you have any advice for potential customers?
Be very sure to explain the needs from all possible angles because they have been quite good at understanding different issues whether it is technological, user experience, or financial; whatever it is. You shouldn’t be too afraid to explain the project to them from all angles.

The client submitted this review online.
Please describe your company and your position there.
I am the CTO of a startup located in Stockholm, Sweden
For what projects/services did your company hire Revolve?
We did this pilot project with Revolve in order to create a mobile application for trainer clients
What were your goals for this project?
This was a pilot project that was aimed to both build a relationship with revolve but more so create the first step in our overall platform.
How did you select this vendor?
We did a procurement effort were we evaluated about 10 different actors in the eastern European market and based on pricing, level of commitment, engagement, customer service level, chemistry etc we decided to choose Revolve.
Describe the project in detail.
First off we had discussions regarding the requirements and first thing we agreed on was that the UX needed to be done before anything else. So Revolve provided us with a few different mockups that were tested with different subjects. Meanwhile we started on the backend as well. After the UX was finished midway through the project we also started with the front end development. We had multiple meetings and follow ups every week with strong communication lines going on a daily basis. Revolve always kept us in the loop.
What was the team composition?
For this project one project lead and two developers were present along side with a UX designer.
Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?
We now have a client mobile app that is working and we have established a good relationship and understanding on the guidelines that should guide our future projects.
How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?
We have had frequent updates on a daily bases regarding workflow, development, feedback etc both through chat and through online meetings.
What did you find most impressive about this company?
I like that Revolve is agile, and they have good patience and a humble approach. Alongside this they also have a strong technical skill set and are creative and good at suggesting improvements and guiding the development. Devs and management also worked with us to help keep costs down when budget was running out. We were very satisfied with the result.
Are there any areas for improvement?
Partly we are to blame for this ourselves, but the development should not have started before the UX was ready and also the agreed upon requirements should have been more clear.

Web App Dev and Design for Mountain Rescue Organization
"Revolve’s software has fundamentally changed the way we operate."
the reviewer
the review
A Clutch analyst personally interviewed this client over the phone. Below is an edited transcript.
Introduce your business and what you do there.
I’m the director of Grupa Jurajska GOPR, a mountain rescue service in Poland.
What challenge were you trying to address with Revolve?
We had a problem with the decision chain. We needed real-time data for all the decisions we made, but the process took 2–3 days. We went to Revolve to build a system that allowed us to do it whenever and wherever we wanted.
What was the scope of their involvement?
Revolve built a web application to help manage our operations. We have to be prepared for a rescue every single day. This app lets us check our staff, equipment, and vehicles for any given day. Each rescuer has their own profile that lists their training, working hours, and what equipment they’ve taken out. We can look up any actions we’ve taken at any time from January 2019 until today.
The project started with a brainstorming session with Revolve, where we expressed our needs and gave them our input. Revolve handled the design and development on their own and then gave it back to us for feedback.
What is the team composition?
Revolve assigned eight people to our project at its peak. We have 2–4 people working with us permanently. Przemek (Co-CEO, Head of Partnerships, Revolve) is one of our primary contacts.
How did you come to work with Revolve?
I was referred to Revolve by a friend who knew someone from their team. In our first meeting with them, they showed us their previous work. We liked it, and they had a young team, so we decided to go ahead.
How much have you invested with them?
We spent around $10,000 in the first year and $3,000–$4,000 per year since.
What is the status of this engagement?
We started working with Revolve in February 2017. The first version of the application was finished in September of that year. They’re still working with us on updating the app.
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
Our decision chain went from taking 3–4 days to one hour. For me, as the boss, that’s crucial. I need data for every decision I make, from the number of hours worked to the number of actions taken. Thanks to Revolve, I know what I need for next year, and for whom. Every single rescuer needs equipment, and every piece of equipment can work for a specific amount of time. I can now check how long each piece of equipment has been in use and plan for the following year. Revolve’s software has fundamentally changed the way we operate.
About 70% of the app’s usage is from my employees. They’ve never said a bad word about it. They give me feedback on how certain functionalities could be improved, after which I’ll call Revolve, and they’ll change it within a week.
How did Revolve perform from a project management standpoint?
The communication is perfect. Whatever we want, it’s done. Actually, were we to pay for everything we required, the cost would’ve been 2–3 times higher. With Revolve, they do it without complaint or extra charges. We’ve mainly communicated by phone, and we have face-to-face meetings where we draw up ideas using paper and a pen.
I can’t think of a time where Revolve didn’t do what we asked for. Sometimes, they deliver even faster than they promise us. They talk to us a lot throughout the process, asking a thousand questions like “Should it be on the left, or should it be on the right?”, “Should it be vertical or horizontal?”, and so on. We tell them what we want, and they do it.
What did you find most impressive about them?
Whatever we need them to do, Revolve does it with a smile. Whatever I’m thinking of, it’s like they can read my mind. They can translate my language into the language of technology. I just know what I need, and that’s enough for them.
Are there any areas they could improve?
No, I can’t think of anything. For us, it’s just great.
Do you have any advice for future clients of theirs?
Don’t hide any information. Revolve will try to do the best job possible, but they need your cooperation to do that. If Revolve doesn’t do something all that well the first time, it’s because I didn’t tell them as much as I should have.

Development for Cybersecurity Solutions Provider
"Most important, however, is that their engineers are not just executors. They propose their own solutions..."
the reviewer
the review
A Clutch analyst personally interviewed this client over the phone. Below is an edited transcript.
Introduce your business and what you do there.
I’m the co-founder and COO of a cybersecurity solutions provider.
What challenge were you trying to address with Revolve?
We needed a couple of skilled and experienced, but very open-minded engineers to add to our core team to help us to develop specific components of our technology.
What was the scope of their involvement?
They were mainly focused on implementing user authentication components in our IoT system. The components were for human authentication, integration with Amazon Alexa, and the construction of some backend infrastructure elements. Everything was already built, but we needed them to bring some of the technology elements up to date because they are very skilled in Python. They also helped us translate the technology to some specific use cases.
Some of their engineers have deep experience with our systems, and we’re planning to tighten our cooperation to work on joint solutions and implementation. They would potentially build IT systems for our clients and integrate them with our cybersecurity systems. We would profit from the know-how they already possess on how the system works, and how to provide maintenance and servicing.
What is the team composition?
We’re working with three people.
How did you come to work with Revolve?
They were recommended by mutual friends. They were described as a reliable partner with a skillful team that was very forward-thinking and open to learning new things. It all turned out to be true.
What is the status of this engagement?
We started working together in November 2018 and the work is ongoing.
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
They’re very precise. They’re very good executors of what needs to be done. Whatever has to be done by them is done, and always on time. Consistently, they’ve shown initiative and proactive problem-solving. Most important, however, is that their engineers are not just executors. They propose their own solutions and share knowledge from different projects.
How did Revolve perform from a project management standpoint?
We use Jira, Slack, and Zoom. They provide input and feedback on what we’re doing.
What did you find most impressive about them?
They’re reliable, precise, involved, and engaged in what they’re doing. They’re always ready to help. They were always available, even after hours.
They really care about their employees and the conditions they work in. It’s a priority of theirs, and I really appreciate that and have full respect for that.
Are there any areas they could improve?
No, there’s nothing that could be done better. They follow our guidance and do it all correctly on time.
Do you have any advice for potential customers?
Propose to them really interesting projects. Keep them motivated and hungry for new features rather than offering them something that is very ordinary.
The client is satisfied with Revolve Healthcare's professional processes. They're great with communication and use Microsoft Teams to ensure a solid project management experience. The team also praises their organized approach and commitment to collaborating more.
