Runcaster is a sports application made for the Indian market. I’m the founder.

What challenge were you trying to address with Relia Software?

We had the idea to build a real-time prediction app for the Indian cricketing season, which was to start a few months later. We needed an offshore extended development team to do it for us as I don’t have any technical expertise. I went through a few companies, finally hiring Relia to do my work.

What was the scope of their involvement?

The app was built for Android and iOS. It enables real-time predictions of live cricket matches. Users can go on the app and start predicting what’ll happen next, in order to win points, compete on leaderboards, and use their points to win prizes. The concept is similar to a trivia platform, but it’s more real-time and so everything needs to be quicker, in terms of syncing and calculating points from match results.

There were a lot of technical challenges, as well as UI/UX ones. On top of that, we needed everything completed within three months, in time for the new cricket season.

What is the team composition?

One of their key stakeholders is our project manager, and we’ve also worked with a business analyst, an account manager, a UX lead, and a tech lead. We currently have a dedicated product manager and a four-person dev team.

How did you come to work with Relia Software?

I researched companies that had built sports trivia apps and found them there. I liked that they looked at the strategy and outlined the UX before we started the collaboration. It was only from a documentation standpoint, but I liked that approach. I was able to explain the concepts in small pieces, and they collated everything to come up with an overall strategy, which impressed me.

How much have you invested with them?

It has cost over $60,000.

What is the status of this engagement?

We started working with them in February 2018. The first version of the app was completed by mid-April, and we have an ongoing relationship for the next version.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

We’ve had more than 10,000 downloads, and gained around 2,000–3,000 sessions per day. Our active user numbers were also good. They helped us to achieve success, so we’re also trying to get into other sports. We wanted to test the idea with cricket, and it turned out very well. We were able to raise $500,000 for the business, allowing us to put together an extended team. They’re always there to address feedback we receive.

How did Relia Software perform from a project management standpoint?

When it comes to project management, we had hiccups in the beginning. They’ve since streamlined things and the current process is very good. After starting an offshore development center, they put good processes in place. Once they got used to our way of working, they did a good job.

I’m currently traveling to Vietnam to meet them. They set up a very good team for us, and we still have a good relationship.

What did you find most impressive about them?

I liked their initial strategy. This project was something new to them and cricket wasn’t a sport they were aware of, but they got involved and understood the concept. They took on the project and made sure the delivery would be perfect for the upcoming season.

They only committed to things they could deliver, which gave me good visibility and allowed me to plan marketing accordingly. I wasn’t kept in the dark at any point. I’ve worked with IT services companies in the past, and Relia’s service stood out. I’ve seen companies with better processes than them, but Relia has an excellent level of know-how.

Are there any areas they could improve?

The project management and communication were definitely something to improve at the start of the project. Other than that, there’s nothing I can think of. The cost/value is very good, as is the scheduling.

Do you have any advice for future clients of theirs?

At least in the initial stages, it’s important to have a close relationship. One thing I’ve learned is the importance of working closely for the first few weeks of a project. We had multiple calls to help them understand our expectations, which helped a lot. Doing this will make the relationship a successful one. It’s why I decided to visit them in-person in Vietnam.

Relia has a solid process, and they know what they’re doing. They have solid resources to track the work and everything is transparent. Relia can be the go-to company for anyone looking to building the first version of a product and then scaling it.

I’m the founder and CEO of Skooc. We’re a health tech company focused on children’s’ wellness, specifically in terms of obesity-related chronic conditions.

We wanted to build an interactive app that encouraged healthy habits for both children and their parents.

What was the goal of the project?

Ideally, the app would help children lose weight through an active lifestyle, healthy diet, and continued support.

Relia Software designed, developed, and deployed the app. It’s an interactive platform that interacts with users on both a physical and psychological level. There are features that track goals and milestones, daily activities, rewards, and diet. The team also designed a corresponding website to support our application.

How did you come to work with Relia Software?

We went through a competitive bidding process with four different companies. Ultimately, we chose Relia Software for their responsiveness, persistence, and knowledge. When we first interacted, they came prepared with solutions to address the project. They also offered a good price for their range of capabilities.

How much have you invested in their services?

So far, we’ve spent between $25,000­–$40,000.

What is the status of the engagement?

We started working together in January 2018 and the project is ongoing.

Can you share any statistics or metrics that speak to the quality of their work and impact of the engagement?

As we move from the design to the development and deployment phase, Relia Solution continues to deliver cost-effective solutions. It’s clear that they take the time to properly research before starting any work. Every deliverable is well-suited for our company.

Is there anything you found impressive about working with Relia Software?

They are very capable, they’ve never turned down a task because it fell outside of their skill range. As a startup, we also appreciate that their team is very accommodating to our changing needs.

I can’t think of one. Even though we’re based in different countries, we still manage to communicate consistently.

To have a sleek UIX design and interface offering loads of capabilities for Agent Care Portal and Self Care Portal.

It is a platform development for a Lead-To-Cash Embrix product in the Cloud, covering the capabilities of CRM, Billing and ERP solutions in a single platform. Key components of the product are the Agent Care and Self Care User interfaces, which is where Relia has partnered with us.

What was the team composition?

We had an employee working from the same location and with her we were interacting with Relia and Le on a weekly basis - setting the targets and achieving them. There was a team of 4-5 UI/UIX design and developers from Relia supporting us.

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

We have successfully finished 3 releases and are in the process of rolling out our product. We have started onboarding customers on our platform. So much was required, but was delivered on time and with great quality.

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

Very good. We had twice weekly meetings to go over the User stories to be worked on and the progress against the User stories defined.

What did you find most impressive about this company?

Many factors make a partnership successful. However, the one that impressed me the most was the 'Sense of Ownership and Responsibility'. If and when there was a need to stretch the day boundaries, they would not hesitate to go the distance and achieve what was set out as a target.

Are there any areas for improvement?

There is always scope for growth for any company including us. However, over a period of 2.5 years, we have seen that they have themselves have self-identified and improved being a true value-add partner.

What did you find most impressive about this company?

They are excellent in communication and super supportive. They provide a flexible work arrangement which suits a startup with limited budget like mine. The quality of their developers is really good! They are very experienced and very derivative. I didn't have to spend much time to manage them, but they delivered an excellent quality of work.

Not really, I'm pretty happy so far, will definitely re-hire them.
