Sales Development for Computer Software Company

Please describe your company and your position there.
I am the CEO of a software startup headquartered in San Francisco. We build operational software for field teams who do their work outside of the office and serve enterprise clients across the United States.
For what projects/services did your company hire RedySet?
Jia needed an outside group to assess our current sales efforts, and help us explore what additional verticals might make sense to pursue using outreach automation.
They made suggestions based upon best practices as well as our specific business, and were quite involved and flexible during our engagement to help us uncover whom to reach, and how.
What were your goals for this project?
The main objective was obviously to drive sales, but being able to understand which targets were responsive, which weren't, and how to adjust both our messaging, offering, and promotions (aka reducing uncertainty), was a key part as well.
How did you select RedySet?
They were quite dynamic and willing to function a bit more broadly than other groups we had explored working with, who only had one or two areas of expertise. In their case, we were able to keep the focus on the key things we needed, without losing sight of how this informed our larger growth strategy.
In short, in addition to running outreach, they helped us brainstorm strategies, talk us though the thinking of different targets and campaigns, and offered insight that made the relationship more than transactional.
Describe the scope of their work in detail.
- List creation / scraping / verifying for outreach automation email and LI sales cadences
- Set up and organized CRM
- Advising on assets that supported the sales initiatives (decks / presentations, web site presence, IG and LI presence)
What was the team composition?
We would meet weekly with Brad and Christian, and I felt comfortable reaching out to them or one of their PMs if it was something less present.
Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?
We uncovered what verticals were and weren't valuable, both based upon which resulted in sales, but also by getting a lot of feedback to understand how our messaging, product, and assumptions (about our target) should be refined.
This was beneficial for the business' growth, but also helpful data to have on hand during our fundraising rounds. Additional "nice-to-haves" are the cadences we can re-purpose for different platforms and verticals, as well as the iterations of decks we tested that they advised on.
How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?
A shared discord channel made chat communication quite prompt and direct and made it easy to share assets, which were all kept in a shared master folder making it easy to find assets broken down by category (eg. "cadences", "lists" "onboarding checklist", "decks", etc.).
Activity was reported weekly, as were focuses for each week, which was supplemented by regularly rescheduled meetings with clear talking points / agendas prior. They coached and involved my assistant, which was beneficial on multiple counts.
What did you find most impressive about this company?
Their willingness to explain their thinking was probably the biggest one. They could have just "done outreach" like most consultants, but they talked us through what they were doing, why, and helped us on decks / verbiage / brainstorming, etc.
They are really committed to helping us succeed, rather than just collecting a retainer for as long as possible.
Are there any areas for improvement?
As some others have said, they do move quickly. This was great for me, and I appreciated the pace as a founder / CEO, but it something to be aware of, or at least should be talked through if you're considering them.
They made a couple minor errors (a size issues with my email signature, and a spacing issue / typo in one outreach), though caught these quickly and always sent test-messages before launch. More automated reporting could have been helpful later on during our engagement.

Please describe your company and your position there.
I am the CEO of a contract manufacturing packaging group.
For what projects/services did your company hire RedySet?
The impact of their work is challenging to bullet out as "deliverables", as so much of the value for our organization came in form of their acumen and experience.
That said, their scope of work with us encompassed CRM organization and lead stage refinement, outbound automation across email and social platforms, highly targeted list-building, marketing strategy support and marketing automation, general automation for our internal reporting, and coaching our reps on lead responses, lead qualification, call prep/setup.
Essentially, RedySet helped us reimagine and implement a new companywide sales program, and we've never looked back. They began by deconstructing our current systems and processes, helped us reframe and question the status quo of activities at our organization, helped us identify fail points, gave us clarity on where we were performing well, where we weren't, and why.
They took the time to research and understand our business, the industry as a whole, what sales we wanted to drive, how we were doing that now what strategies historically resonated with our different target demographics, and then conceptualized and executed a holistic growth strategy that built upon this information.
What were your goals for this project?
Modernize and restructure our sales process to drive more bottomline growth for a complex, high-ticket transaction, accelerate our volume of deal flow while shortening our sales cycle, and improve the output of our SDRs and AEs.
How did you select RedySet?
We had been looking for a sales contractor for a while, and had tried multiple established groups in '19 & early '20. We concluded their cookie-cutter approach wasn't for us; we needed a partner that was able to combine a technology and automation focused approach to do the heavy lifting, with a strong background in navigating complex sales cycles for high-ticket transactions.
Describe the scope of their work in detail.
General due diligence, understanding of our current sales process, our business as a whole, our industry, our customer demographics and qualifiers, our existing assets and resources. Working through the sales program framework they developed with our Sr. team and "on the ground" reps alike, to get a clear understanding of the challenges at various levels within our organization.
CRM organization, and presenting the value of the CRM and its capabilities in such a way that it was actually used. Copywriting and outbound sales automation for email and social, and ultra targeted cadences for each demographic with touchpoints on various platforms.
Content strategy support for blog, longform, paid reposting, social platforms, and forum platforms. Streamlined our internal reporting with automations, so that we were able to quickly see the development of new accounts, and progress of key accounts, and better allocate our sales team's time.
Provided guides consisting of written and video elements for varying level of our organization so we could quickly familiarize ourselves with the program they built, and train our sales team on the new program.
What was the team composition?
Christian & Brad were the primary points of contact. Brad largely being our go-to for data capture strategy, technology implementation, and automation strategy conversations, and Christian largely for outbound strategy, and defining actions at each lead stage to shorten the sales cycle. Both were involved in the high-level strategy conversations, and how all these activities work together to drive output. Their PM whose name escapes me right now would be our primary point of contact for general updates and scheduling, communicating the status of tasks, and managing our timeline schedule.
Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?
Dialogues with new prospects never contacted before is up roughly 130% as we had never explored the potential of automations to this extent before. Re-engagement of past contacts that went cold has grown by roughly 45% with a 20%+ close rate, and reorders from existing customers or contacts on our mailing list has grown a bit over 45%.
Volume of inbound qualified prospects that move to clearly defined exploratory calls has increased close to 60%, with a close rate of about 1 in 3. Our close rate of deals over the six-figure mark has nearly doubled following our 4 month engagement with RedySet when compared to last year this time.
On average, across all target demographics, our time-to-close has been reduced by nearly 26 days.
How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?
It was quite robust, and our team found their preferred workflow effective, without being excessive. Regular recurring meetings with a clear purpose and agenda were standard, and flextime was allocated within pre-defined windows which gave our team an opportunity to connect with them as needed.
They setup a Shared Folder to centralize all information with a clear folder hierarchy, and a Slack channel for day-to-day communication.
Where possible, they would automate reporting both for objectives of the week, and retroactive reports of progress, which gave our Sr. team clear visibility into activity, and eliminated unnecessary meetings (time allocation was a big concern on our end, and they provided an elegant and clear solve).
What did you find most impressive about this company?
Their ability to quickly move from high-level perspectives and strategy, to the granular details. They were very professional, and able to explain why certain activity was occurring, being tested or adjusted, or being eliminated altogether, and how this was driving concrete output inline with the larger strategy to drive growth.
They were always willing to listen, make a concerted effort to see situations from our perspective, and were sensitive to concerns we would articulate. When we weren't sure what the best route was, we felt very comfortable trusting in their ability to either test or make the best choice for our business as it related to their area of expertise.
Beyond this, their due diligence on our business, our industry, and ability to navigate between the "tech" side of things, and the "sales" side of things were very impressive and something we'd hadn't encountered before.
Are there any areas for improvement?
Their biggest area for improvement is likely clearly defining with their client how much or little project management is required, how much pressure on their client is appropriate to exert, and the speed at which to move.
They have a tendency to prioritize speed and wanted to deliver results for us as quickly as possible, which is quite honestly refreshing when compared to most contractors we've worked with.
That said, we had a few instances of minor tension, almost exclusively due to pressure they would apply when our team was delayed in completing certain tasks, delivering certain assets, or providing approvals on work from their end.
While our Sr. team was very satisfied with this tempo, and they were always respectful and professional, some members of our sales team were simply not accustomed to the pace the RedySet team set and expected to be reciprocated.
In retrospect, this feeling of urgency they fostered ended up being a positive impact on our team and clearly on our bottomline, but I can see how some teams might feel they're a bit intense at times

Please describe your company and your position there.
I am the technical Co-Founder and CEO of a platform built to decrease the time it takes a startup to raise capital. We provide highly targeted capital partner recommendations and allow startups to manage their investor pipeline on our platform.
For what projects/services did your company hire RedySet?
We needed a group to direct and push our sales efforts and signup growth, and guide our senior team through the steps to accomplish this. Not only did they create a solid sales foundation in form of CRM setup, and laying out the steps from the top of prospect journey to close, but they also began outreach very promptly after reviewing all the material with us.
What were your goals for this project?
Goals were to increase signups to our program through targeted outreach programs that reached startups and incubators.
How did you select RedySet?
RedySet was the only team that really could identify and implement the right combination of outbound sales automation systems, how it integrates with the appropriate CRM for us, and the appropriate marketing automation system appropriately to create the cohesive sales system we needed.
Describe the scope of their work in detail.
Contact list development, and web-scraping for varying demographics and to varying levels of detail. Developed outbound sales cadence sequences for multiple target demographics, and applied consistent A/B testing to help us optimize our outbound touchpoints.
Set up and organized CRM, and the appropriate prospect stages. Implemented outreach and CRM automation Developed Tag management system for CRM and subsequent marketing systems. Identified and helped us implement the appropriate content strategy. Tied all the activity together with a variety of automation so that we could quickly understand activity across multiple initiatives,
What was the team composition?
We worked directly with Brad & Christian a fair amount of the time. They directed and managed other members of the team but they were our main point of contact.
Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?
We now have a CRM with clearly defined prospect stages, Marketing tag systems set up, and the outreach has increased our daily signups to our platform, together with the opportunity to gather feedback for improved product development on our end. All outreach was done quickly and effectively.
How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?
We shared a slack channel so they were well integrated into our team, and used a series of automation to notify us directly of new activity for key accounts, and new inbound traffic in general, which enabled us to promptly respond to new prospects without having to constantly check out emails.
The CRM setup was detailed and will be a critical component in helping us internally optimize our activity and our dialogues with customers and prospects.
What did you find most impressive about this company?
They never sold us on something we did not need and advised and executed with the best interest of our company in mind, always. They guided us through the process, and helped us better identify and understand blindspots we hadn't thought of, and acted to help us mitigate these.
They tailored their strategies to match our timeline targets, our internal resources, and the growth performance we wanted to see. They are a dynamic team that goes the extra mile and worked hard to maximize budget allocation and time.
Are there any areas for improvement?
In our situation, some of the processes could have been a bit more formal. They run very quickly which not all groups are accustomed to, especially during the initial setup stage of the many different systems and integrations.

Please describe your company and your position there.
I am the technical director at a creative agency based throughout the US. We execute on strategy, identity work, and engineering for mid-size to large mission-focused companies.
For what projects/services did your company hire RedySet?
We were interested in building out an automated sales outreach program and hired RedySet to build out and execute it.
What were your goals for this project?
We wanted to increase sales to specific markets. We were selling conversion rate optimization in particular and needed to educate possible leads about the benefits.
How did you select RedySet?
We were looking at a number of agencies that could help with our outreach efforts, after speaking with RedySet it was clear they could do more on their own. Other agencies required a lot of hand-holding, so it was a clear choice for us.
Describe the scope of their work in detail.
RedySet did discovery work with our team to better understand our company. From our pitch decks and core competencies to our ideal clients they gathered a lot of that information. From there they built out a strategy, and showed us some sample outreach cadences, company lists, etc. After that, they went ahead with the execution, and have given us updates and tweaked the strategy over time.
What was the team composition?
We worked closely with two team members at RedySet, Christian & Brad. The team was great & very communicative. We were glad that the team we were interfacing with stayed the same throughout the project so we felt in the loop.
Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?
We've had a number of warm leads, and large closed projects with non-profits due to their outreach.
How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?
Communication was easy and clear with the RedySet team. From updates on deliverables to updates on analytics we felt we had a good idea of the process throughout.
What did you find most impressive about this company?
They were a great strategic partner. Without much guidance from our end, they were able to build and execute an effective approach.
Are there any areas for improvement?
We were very satisfied with their approach and communication throughout the process.

How did you select this firm and what were the deciding factors?

Describe the project in detail and walk through their service package.
They do a mass outreach to specific audiences/industries and tailor each message unique to the business schedule appointments for me
How many resources from the vendor's team worked with you, and what were their positions?
I have been working directly with the co-founders
Can you share any outcomes from the engagement that demonstrate progress or success?
I am now able to find the right contacts getting straight to the source and do not need to worry about cold calling or gate keepers. Without their outreach, I would not be able to find the right people to speak with nor would I have the bandwidth
How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?
We have a weekly meeting and go over the speadsheet they created to keep me on track with my leads
What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?
They've helped me find quality leads with minimal work on my end. I no longer have to worry about finding prospects
Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?
I get plenty of clients and warm leads so nothing that comes to mind at the moment
RedySet gives effective feedback about how the client's messaging, product, and assumptions should be refined. As a result, it made a great help for business growth and useful data for fundraising rounds. Moreover, the team is well-organized, making it faster to find assets.
