    BACKGROUND

    Introduce your business and what you do there.

    I’m a co-founder of a Medtech startup that offers a platform for dentists in Norway. We’re starting with the creation of a forum and a course overview for dentists. In Norway, you have to receive 150 hours of courses every five years to keep your license. At the moment, it’s difficult for dentists to find the right courses to take, but we’ve managed to get all of them into our platform. We’ll soon start offering a marketplace as well.

    OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE

    What challenge were you trying to address with Redvike?

    We began the project with a couple of people in Norway, but after spending a fair amount of money, we saw that the product wasn’t meeting our standards. We decided to start from again with a new company.

    SOLUTION

    What was the scope of their involvement?

    We initially wanted to create an iOS and Android app but realized it would take a lot more work and money, so we went with a web app that can be used on pads, mobile phones, and desktops.

    hey developed our forum from scratch. We designed the things we knew we needed and they used that as a base, adding some of their own ideas for things we didn’t think about. We also implemented a chat feature recently so that people can talk to each other. In Norway, if you’re a dentist, you have six different paths you can take, so we have six different categories in our course overview in which dentists can find exactly what they need.​

    In the beginning, I talked a lot with their CEO. After a while, I began interfacing with their project manager. There were several people working on the project but not as many now that we’re at the end of the project.

    How did you come to work with Redvike?

    They were recommended to us by a friend that uses their services. I presented our idea to Redvike’s CEO and he said that they could do it. It was a good choice for us in an economic sense because prices in Norway are 6–8 times higher than they are in Poland. We also liked their previous work.

    How much have you invested with them?

    We spent $30,000 on their services.

    What is the status of this engagement?

    We worked together from May to October 2018.

    RESULTS & FEEDBACK

    What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

    We’re pleased with the product and how things are going. It’s really nice to work with professionals that understand your needs. They gave us plenty of advice, especially since I don’t have a tech background. They also implemented things we hadn’t thought of.

    My sister and a lot of my friends are dentists. We’ve shown the platform to them, and they all like what they see and think we’re solving an actual problem for the dentists in Norway.

    How did Redvike perform from a project management standpoint?

    Communication is great. We talk every day on Skype at 4:00 PM, and also use Slack. They always respond or call us back promptly, and it’s always easy to reach them.

    What did you find most impressive about them?

    They’re much more professional and structured than the previous company we hired. Their timelines, the feedback they provide, and the questions they ask make us feel safe.

    Are there any areas they could improve?

    No. Everything has gone well.

    Do you have any advice for potential customers?

    If you’re creating something like an app or a web page, it’s really important to have the designs of what you want ready. Really think through everything so you don’t have any surprises after you start the project. Planning the project before beginning the coding is important.

    Introduce your business and what you do there.

    I am the technical director and co-founder of CallPage. We created a widget that companies can place on their website allowing customers to receive callbacks within 28 seconds. We generate leads for them and increase conversion from their website.

    OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE

    What challenge were you trying to address with Redvike?

    The biggest part of our product is our widget. We had an existing widget but there were a lot of problems with it, and we needed to create a new design and framework for a new widget. We were working in a microservices paradigm and didn’t have enough employees internally to get it done, so we decided to outsource the work to another company.

    SOLUTION

    What was the scope of their involvement?

    The purpose of the widget is to convert web traffic into calls. If a company places our widget on their site, clients who are browsing a website can request a call from the company’s call operators.

    They completed the 3.0 version, and we are currently developing new, small features and bug fixes. They used Vue.js for the widget framework.

    What is the team composition?

    In the beginning, we had three developers. In the middle of the project, we had two developers, and currently, we have one developer who is taking care of bug fixes and smaller changes if needed. We also have had a project manager throughout the project. Next month, we will hire another developer to bring it back to two.

    How did you come to work with Redvike?

    We looked at 2–3 other companies, but we were referred to them. References have been our best source of finding a company like this, and we also had a better price because of the referral.

    How much have you invested in them?

    We spent $50,000–$100,000.

    What is the status of this engagement?

    We worked with them on this project from July of 2017 and it was completed in January of 2018.

    RESULTS & FEEDBACK

    What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

    They created a very cool product and used all modern technologies. They developed it to be three times lighter than it was previously. The loading time was 1.5 seconds and currently, it loads in .5 second. The design is better and has a smooth transition to animation. Everything has been working really well, and the product quality is very high. We are very satisfied working with them and will work with them in the future as well.

    How did Redvike perform from a project management standpoint?

    Everything was on time and acceptable for us.

    What did you find most impressive about them?

    A big benefit for us is that they are able to do quick fixes when we need them. Our startup has less than 15 employees, and sometimes we need them to act quickly. If we had outsourced this to a big company, it would have been hard for us because they wouldn’t have been as flexible as the Redvike team that was willing to work after hours.

    Are there any areas they could improve?

    One time we needed more developers for new features, but they couldn’t accommodate that as quickly as we needed. It wasn’t a problem as this is normal for a business like theirs, but they probably just need to increase their ability to scale.
