A Clutch analyst personally interviewed this client over the phone. Below is an edited transcript.
Introduce your business and what you do there.
I’m the CEO of an online company, and we sell direct to consumers. Our product is an all-in-one detergent made by the original founder of Oxiclean.
What challenge were you trying to address with Ready Fire Digital?
We were looking at revamping our Shopify website and we also wanted the team’s help with our SEO once the new site is up.
What was the scope of their involvement?
I was pretty adamant about changing our platform, so we stayed in Shopify. Since we’re such as small business, I handle a lot of the daily tasks on our website. We’ve been using our site for 4–5 years now, and I’m just really comfortable with it, and it’s even plugged into Amazon. They’ve ensured that they implement changes without affecting my backend system.
We’ve been working with them for quite some time, and over the last two years, Ready Fire also provided video content services. Since we sell directly to consumers, we do a lot of social media video ads on Instagram and other platforms to maintain our online presence. We’re currently working together to create a second video.
What is the team composition?
My main point of contact is Pete (Principal Owner) and but I’ve also worked with 2–3 from their team.
How did you come to work with Ready Fire Digital?
I was working with a different agency locally and they were doing some work for a video. Then, they connected us with Ready Fire for the website project. However, after I found out Ready Fire also creates videos, I decided to take my video work to them instead of the other agency.
How much have you invested with them?
We have spent over $50,000 and we are still working with them on another project that may last for several months.
What is the status of this engagement?
We have an ongoing relationship with Ready Fire, and our engagement started in November 2019.
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
Their quality of work is impressive. We enjoy working with their team, especially Pete — he’s a creative person and he knows my brand pretty well. Since we have a revolutionary product that is different from anyone else out there, we really needed someone to adapt to our product.
That entails taking the initiative to try our product — and Pete has been able to do that. Overall, we collaborate well together since he's tried our product and I don't have to explain everything.
How did Ready Fire Digital perform from a project management standpoint?
The best thing about working with Ready Fire is that that they’re on schedule. If they have any hiccups or issues, they’re always upfront about it. They’re honest if things might take a couple of days and always inform us about the project’s progress. I appreciate that I don’t have to ask them to know where things are at.
We don’t use any special tools to manage the project since we’re such a small company. We have our own method of working together, and I like that we can talk on the phone instead of trying to do everything over an email. With detailed stuff, having a conversation with someone is better than trying to do it over a chat or an email.
What did you find most impressive about them?
I’ve been in their office space a few times and I’ve seen that they really get to know their customer’s products, and they do it by conducting research. Overall, I really like working with Ready Fire because they’ve been taking the time to know my product.
Are there any areas they could improve?
We just want Ready Fire to remain up to date in the ever-changing world of advertising since we do a lot of social media videos, especially during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Do you have any advice for potential customers?
Collaborating is one of the things that Ready Fire does well, and they’re also very creative. I know my product well, but I don’t know video. However, I know what I’m envisioning. If you share your vision, you can help them create what you want.
