Please describe your company and your position there.
I am the CEO of a Testing and QA company located in Luxembourg. We provide consulting, training and innovative solutions to help our customer meet their user expectations in terms of application quality.
For what projects/services did your company hire Qubstudio?
We wanted a creative and efficient company to design for us the best UI and UX for our new solution called Q-Guard. Our goal was to seamlessly onboard our users to use an innovative solution with unusual but powerful concepts.
How did you select this vendor?
We have been warmly recommended by one of our loyal customer.
Describe the project in detail and walk through the stages of the project.
First, we had severeal discussion with their team to make them understand what our product is about and what are his strengths and values for our users. Then, their team conducted intensive research, gathering industry reviews, user feedback, and relevant information on our competitors. Finally at the end of the discovery phase they produced extremely valuable deliverables such as User and Buying personas, navigation benchmarking, user interest, etc. After this discovery phase, we started the design phase (still ongoing) where all screen are being designed with attention to detail and user engagement in mind.
How many resources from the vendor's team worked with you, and what were their positions?
My team works directly with 2 of their UI/UX designers and a project manager.
Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?
We're pleased with the deliverables from their team. The UI/UX serves as the foundation of the application we're now working to develop in-house. Their work perfectly reflects the vision we had at the start, helping us create an engaging and powerful application.
How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?
Project manager and designers were easy to communicate with. They provided us frequent updates. We had only video calls and most of the feedback was during those calls. Everything was delivered on time with a high level of quality.
What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?
Their UI/UX skills literally blew me away. Not to mention how quickly and accurately they understood our product and the vision. They are the best I have met so far in their field.
Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?
Not really.

Please describe your company and your position there.
I am a Product Lead in our startup and also a co-founder. My job is to understand the underlying problems our customers are facing, scope and help prioritise the work we do.
For what projects/services did your company hire Qubstudio?
We didn't have any design position in our company and the lack of this skill was hindering what we were trying to achieve. Qubstudio was given a handover from our previous design freelancer and their job was to take the project further based on user insight and our previous designers work.
How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?
We were joining a startup conference Slush and had informal discussions with different companies. One company gave us a recommendation of Qubstudio. We visited the website and saw, that the quality of work of Qub looks very good. This is how we reached out to them to discuss further details.
I think the recommendation, their testimonials and project descriptions on the website added to the calls we had with the team was biggest factor. Also the pricing was very good.
Describe the project in detail and walk through the stages of the project.
We agreed a very flexible way to go with the project: we discussed the scope many times during the project and we wanted to get to the production and validate with real users in a low treshold. We started with discovery phase where we discussed the current problem space we are having.
We handed over our user insights and discussed those, and Qub asked a lot of questions of our current product and why it is how it is at the moment. Based on these discussions Qub made their suggestions to the first iteration of our new platform and we agreed, what we think is in the scope and what is not.
Based on these we created a wireframe to test with real users. We validated our issues with user insight, and we had approx 5-6 interviews and decided where to focus. Most of our users loved the filtering of lessons and pointed out different filtering options that they would use. Based on this insight we focused on a few views that we then took forward.
At the end of the project we got the final delivery files we agreed on, but the non-final versions where also shared to us on a low treshold so we could already start implementing some parts of it. The whole project with Qub lasted approx 7-8 weeks and by that time we also had many views already published and implemented by our tech team.
How many resources from the vendor's team worked with you, and what were their positions?
We had a team of three: A project manager, A business-analyst and a UI/UX designer.
Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?
We got what we were looking for: a very boldly iterated version of our platform that was validated with users and implemented on a low treshold to see it's effects. We don't yet know how it will affect our business but we are eagerly waiting for the business results! Our team was super happy to the end delivery files and the new, published version of the platform is such an improvement visually and usabilitywise compared to our old one.
How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?
We liked the fact that we had dailies every day and we could discuss with the team members on Slack on a low treshold. We were super happy how flexible the team was on scoping the project. This was our first outsourced design project which was done remotely. We usually prefer having a freelancer onsite that is working with the team, but due to different circumstances we decided to test this approach.
For us it was not the easiest way to work and that is one reason why we decided not to continue right now: we needed some space to reflect how we use remote outsourced teams and where we should focus in our product next.
What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?
The Qub team was working on such demanding circumstances due to the war in Ukraine. We were stunned by how professional they were and how great quality they could deliver despite the horrible situation in their homeland. I think the warm atmosphere they have in the company was visible in how they were dealing with us as well.
Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?
I think the language barrier was sometimes a bit visible in our communication. At least this is something we needed to take into account when discussing with the team in english - do we use the same words for same phenomena and we need to visualise on low treshold to avoid misunderstandings. I think it wasn't a blocker for this project but something that might make things a bit slower or cause misunderstandings.

Project Summary:
An e-learning SaaS company hired Qubstudio to redefine their visual brand with new creative assets and a brand style guide. The team then implemented the new designs on a marketing website using Figma and Miro.
Feedback Summary:
Qubstudio’s well-informed design choices made for a highly satisfactory outcome. Besides their ability to deliver on time and within budget, the team boasted a capacity to educate and collaborate with the client on the branding and design direction.
BACKGROUND
Introduce your business and what you do there.
We’re an e-learning SaaS company based in New York and we provide assessment platforms to schools all around the world. I’m the project manager for an international implementation of the business.
OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE
What challenge were you trying to address with Qubstudio?
We hired Qubstudio to help us redefine our visual brand and implement that on a new marketing website.
SOLUTION
What was the scope of their involvement?
Qubstudio’s major deliverables were a new logo, a branding style guide, and a set of creative assets that included color palettes, icons, banners, email signatures, business cards, presentation and social media post templates, and so on.
Once those were accomplished, we then moved on to implementing our new brand on a marketing website. This involved exhaustive back-and-forth consulting on how the website should look, how many pages it should have, and what content it should contain. When those matters were settled, we provided all the written content following the agreed guidelines. Qubstudio designed and developed wireframes on Figma before building the site on Webflow and handing it over to us to independently manage.
What is the team composition?
There were around six people working with us. We had two different project managers, a design lead, a brand lead, a web designer and a lead developer.
How did you come to work with Qubstudio?
We found Qubstudio on Clutch. We consulted with a few other companies first but we liked their price range and portfolio best. We saw that their previous works looked fresh and new, so we got in touch with them.
How much have you invested with them?
We invested approximately $32,000.
What is the status of this engagement?
The project ran from March–September 2021.
RESULTS & FEEDBACK
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
Our internal stakeholders were more than happy with the results. Qubstudio delivered on time and within budget. We’re actually planning to use them again and let them have a look at the web portal for our product.
How did Qubstudio perform from a project management standpoint?
They were fantastic. Sasha (Project Manager & Brand Strategist), in particular, was on top of everything and kept us on track if we needed to get something back to them. We mainly communicated through email and Google Hangouts.
They were really good in terms of branding. We saw that they were unafraid to push back on our suggestions and really tried to understand our opinions on certain ideas. We were confident with their designs because they were happy to defend their choices. It was a really good iterative process and we collaborated on Figma and Miro.
What did you find most impressive about them?
I was really impressed with Qubstudio’s brainstorming process and the brand identity that they came up with. We liked that they could back up their design choices; every detail and design element was well thought out and employed for a reason.
In the instances that we were able to change their mind about the design, they were very understanding and willing to see things in a different light. They were very educative and able to keep all of the non-design-oriented people involved throughout the process.
Are there any areas they could improve?
There were a couple of personnel changes throughout the project, but I wouldn’t really say there was an issue with it. Apart from some rescheduled meetings, everything was smooth-sailing.
Do you have any advice for potential customers?
Qubstudio definitely has a distinct style, so if you’ve seen their profile and think that they can deliver what you’re looking for in a brand, then they’re a good choice.

User Flow & UI/UX Design for Social Networking Startup
“Qubstudio has everything we need.”
the reviewer
the review
A Clutch analyst personally interviewed this client over the phone. Below is an edited transcript.
Introduce your business and what you do there.
I’m creating a social networking company that has an app for users to discover what’s happening around them, connect with friends, and meet up in real life.
What challenge were you trying to address with Qubstudio?
We hired Qubstudio for their UI/UX design services.
What was the scope of their involvement?
Qubstudio initially worked on our UI/UX design project, providing us with wireframes for our app. During that time, they also helped us create informational architecture and user flows. These things helped our developers as they took designs from Figma, following diagrams as they developed the actual app.
To elaborate, the team took what we already had and audited our app at the same time. We had roughly 150 screens ready — it was a huge project — and they audited every single screen. Then, they came up with suggestions and implemented them. In other words, they redid the entire app from start to finish.
At present, we’re still working together for the app, and we’re trying to find a way to keep the engagement going.
What is the team composition?
We’ve worked with around six members of their team, which consist of two designers, two business analysts, and two project managers.
How did you come to work with Qubstudio?
I found Qubstudio via Clutch, and they presented themselves extremely well and thoroughly. They shared several use cases with us, and their services were fairly priced. Overall, they seemed to have a great experience relating to this project, so we hired them.
How much have you invested with them?
We’ve invested around $20,000.
What is the status of this engagement?
We started the project in August 2021, and the partnership is ongoing.
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
Since working with Qubstudio, we’ve raised around $300,000 on the prototype and designs we have.
Anecdotally, they’ve done an amazing job. It takes a lot for us to trust an offshore agency because everyone has horror stories about working with offshore developers and designers. However, we’ve taken a leap of faith with Qubstudio because they’ve provided real substance in their pitch.
So far, they’ve delivered every single piece of their pitch, and I have nothing bad to say about them. In fact, I’d recommend them to anyone who’s looking for any design or branding help in the market.
How did Qubstudio perform from a project management standpoint?
Qubstudio’s project management is perfect. We talk to them on a weekly basis, though we have our communication channel open via Slack; we send messages daily and do video chats once a week or as needed. Given this, they’ve been highly responsive and communicative. It’s easy to get a hold of them and schedule meetings, and the team is upfront and transparent with their fees and services — they don’t over-promise anything in terms of deliverables.
Furthermore, despite the fact that Qubstudio is based in Ukraine, they speak and write good English. As a result, everything is clear and extremely comprehensive. For comparison, I’ve worked with other UI/UX designers in the past that are more expensive. Those firms have promised a lot only to completely under-deliver. By contrast, I’m over the moon with Qubstudio.
What did you find most impressive about them?
Qubstudio has everything we need, whether that be project managers, business analysts, designers, marketers, branding professionals, graphic artists, or other creatives. As a result, when we realize we need more services than we expect, we can use them and get everything done under one roof.
This quality also results in a special kind of synergy between our teams. On top of that, they offer such services for a good price. The team is also on time, and they work diligently and efficiently.
Are there any areas they could improve?
I wish they would come to work for me full-time.
Do you have any advice for potential customers?
Talk to Qubstudio and compare what they deliver relative to other providers. Then, make an informed decision based on their merits. Trust that they’ll provide authentic work for you.

For what projects/services did your company hire Qubstudio?
We had previously hired a design firm to build our new brand and we felt that the brand book could be used in a more modern way than we were using it up to that point. Since we were limited on design resources at the time we made this decision, we sought out a design firm that could help our vision come to life.
How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?
We were recommended Qub by a professional contact, after evaluating their work and getting an estimate for the project, we were happy to move forward.
Describe the project in detail and walk through the stages of the project.
We assigned them certain pages that needed to be redesigned and we gave them mood boards/personas from previous work we had done internally. They started by doing competitor research. Taking that research they built wireframes that took into account our personas and mood boards. With each phase we had weekly meetings to get buy-in from all the stakeholders. Finally, we moved into the concept phase where we tackled each page with iteration, each step getting closer to a final mock-up that would be eventually handed to our engineers to be built. The Qub team was always on time with their work, very professional, and responsive.
How many resources from the vendor's team worked with you, and what were their positions?
3 resources: a design/ux lead, a creative lead, and a project manager.
Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?
We have not yet released the new work to the public. However, internally, our stakeholders are happy with the work delivered.
How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?
Very effective, they listened to our feedback and acted quickly on it.
What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?
They are professional, responsive, and reasonably priced for their work output.
Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?
Our engagement was limited to just UI work. I think they delivered on this aspect. If anything, the competitor research and brainstorming early on could have been a bit more comprehensive, but that may have delayed output and not produced any different result from where we landed.

For what projects/services did your company hire Qubstudio?
We had a roadmap of deliverables covering wide range of products and services, we hired Qubstudio to take lead on the user experience practice and embedded them within the organization to be part of the delivery team
How did you select this vendor?
A combination of competencies, experience and costs. They were recommended by another agency that could not coup with demand.
Describe the project in detail and walk through the stages of the project.
From inception the team would conduct stake holder interviews, hold various sessions, prototype, get feedback and iterate, one signed off, the team will continue engagement with dev team till the feature is ready then engage for additional rounds of user testing and validation.
How many resources from the vendor's team worked with you, and what were their positions?
Three, Senior UI/UX designer, a UI/UX designer and a business analyst
Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?
Most of the projects that Qubstudio are working on are currently in development as they just recently joined us, however we also recently received multiple awards for best digital banking experience in the region, this only reflects on the high standards we follow and we trust that with help of Qubstudio we will continue to reap the rewards.
How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?
Even though we have different weekends, we have adjusted our work schedules to perfectly sync. The team is professional and communicates very well. They engage with various stakeholders from different backgrounds and experiences.
What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?
Their capability to bend and flex to meet business needs, they always impress and deliver top notice quality work even under extreme stress and pressured deadlines
Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?
Resources are very high in demand, so it’s difficult to deal with situations like scaling up for example, I believe it’s a challenge facing many agencies in Ukraine.
