We wanted to build a platform where startup founders could seek appointment with influencers who are successful individuals in their business. Advice seekers will need to pay for this service and this payment will go to a NGO or not-for-profit organization of Influencer's choice. Our goal was to build a secure and reliable platform for handling our business.

QSS was recommended to us by a friend. We had couple of meetings initially to see their business understanding and technical capability. Once convinced, we kicked-off the project within 2 weeks. I could not have asked for a better partner.

Describe the project and the services they provided in detail.

This project is to develop a Platform for vendors and where they will be able to book a time slot with an executive by paying to the charity of choice of the chosen executive. Decision Makers are split up into ranks. C-Level, Management, Board Members and Influencers. The vendor will setup a user profile and product objects with required information as title, description, supporting documents, and keyword tags used to match products with Decision Maker position.

Vendors will see the list of decision makers in their dashboard and can search for them using provided filters. From the dashboard, the vendor will be able to make a payment to the charity for the amount advertised. QSS team have built the complete platform including development of backend, frontend, etc. They are providing development, testing and devops services for this application.

Can you share any information that demonstrates the impact that this project has had on your business?

When we hired QSS, we were in ideation stage only. They helped us build our solution which I have started sharing with my business partners and beta customers. We are very excited with the outcome and have started planning for next phase enhancements that will take our platform to move to the next level.

How was project management arranged and how effective was it?

QSS team is having good experience with lot of project management tools and practices. They gave us some tool options to choose from. We had daily status emails and weekly calls to check and discuss project updates.

What did you find most impressive about this company?

When you are working with remote teams, transparency and trust are the most important things. The management as well as team is very transparent and honest. Their technical team is very good at understanding business problems and translating them into digital solutions.

Are there any areas for improvement?

It took some adjustment initially when we started working with the team in remote environment. Once we had project management tools and staging environment setup done, things started becoming smoother.

I am an Account Manager for a Branding, Sales, and Marketing agency and am assisting one of our clients in having a fish tournament platform built for them.

We wanted to build a platform where fishing tournament organizers can create their tournaments, add judges and invite fishing professionals to participate in the tournaments.

We wanted to build mobile app (Android and iOS apps) that will help in update of real-time dashboards on the app as well as on a companion website. Our goal was to build a scalable, secure and reliable platform that could handle heavy traffic during real tournaments.

Describe the project in detail.

Following two years of using a third party's fishing tournament scoring app, the Champions Tour decided it was time to take control of its fishing tournament scoring needs and work with an agency to develop its own app.

What makes the Champions Tour Scoring App so unique is that it has the ability to be customized to the needs of each event and the parameters that are in place. Tournaments can be set up for individual or team competitions, and the event can choose which species of fish count, how many fish count, and whether it is total inches or total weight that is the determining criteria.

QSS team has built the complete platform which includes development of backend, frontend, mobile apps, etc. They have provided designing, development, testing and devops services for this application.

What was the team composition?

I was working with a Project Manager and a team of 4-5 developers, designers and testers.

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

The Champions Tour is very excited to be using the app this season as it will allow them to deliver accurate results, so the competing anglers know real time that the weights they see on the leaderboard are confirmed.

Thus, it eliminates any confusion or uncertainty when they are on the water, meaning real time emotion and excitement as the seconds tick down as anglers are close to making the cut or being crowned the champion.

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

I was interacting with a Project Manager for all the updates, queries, support issues. QSS team was very prompt in responding to our queries and were available on call, even during their late night hours. They extended their support even during weekends to ensure that weekend tournaments did not run through any issues.

What did you find most impressive about this company?

The technical understanding of QSS team, coupled with quality delivery, was most impressive for us. We have run so many tournaments over last couple of months and the end client is very pleased. The responsiveness and customer service of the QSS team has been exemplary.

Are there any areas for improvement?

The initial builds of the application that we had received had issues but it was primarily because lot of use cases had not been imagined and were not shared from client side. But team was very prompt in fixing the issues and missed scenarios and we have perfect co-ordination now to move to the next phase.

I’m the director of a multinational IT company.

I’m the founder of WoVo Identity Solutions. We develop biometric-enabled solutions for customers that can’t afford traditional high-priced solutions. Over the past several years, I’ve designed an ecosystem of networked applications that can be used for identification purposes.

For what projects/services did your company hire QSS Technosoft Pvt. Ltd.?

We brought QSS Technosoft on as our mobile application development partner. Specifically, they’ve helped build our main product line and application development platform. All our apps run on Android, iOS, and Windows devices, which requires several different types of developers.

What were your goals for this project?

We wanted to become the foremost provider of biometric-enabled mobile applications for identification purposes. To that end, my goal was to foster several competencies (cross-platform, mobile, biometric, Xamarin) within the development team. This would help us develop interconnected mobile applications, each of which would serve a specific use case.

How did you select this vendor?

I worked with the founders of QSS when I was employed by another biometrics firm. I was impressed with QSS’ workmanship and got along very well with both founders. They had the experience I was looking for and the flexibility to take on new projects that would require their developers to enhance their skill set. Pricing was also a big factor since I bootstrap funded my business. Also, I needed a team that could develop quickly so I could get my first app into the market.

Describe the project in detail.

They started by building a simple, biometric-enabled application for Android in a Xamarin environment. It uses C# and an SDK from the fingerprint scanner manufacturer. This app was designed as a generic proof of concept that could be useful for a variety of use cases. It enabled the user to capture flat fingerprint images and text in three data fields and share these records via email or secure FTP. We published this app in the Google Play Store in 2015. While I sold many copies to coroners and medical examiners, the key result was the experience we gained in working together.

That project established the foundation for the next app, which we designed with input from coroners and medical examiners. QSS expanded our feature set by developing decedent fingerprint cards, which help coroners and medical examiners do their jobs better. This app was also designed for Android, though we later developed a Windows version. During the Windows development, we realized we needed to manage cross-platform licenses, so we brought on resources with cloud development experience. We now have a server that manages user licenses running Android, iOS, and Windows applications. The second app is selling successfully today, and we have plans to enhance its functionality, which QSS will be tasked with executing.

In 2018, we reskinned the second application for Android and Windows and developed an iOS version. This required integrating a new scanner and SDK. Later, we reused that code to build an entirely new application to be used by crime scene investigators. Our next large effort was a mobile application for civilians. QSS reused code from previous apps and introduced face-capture functionality. So far, we’ve developed an iOS version, but we plan on developing an Android version too. This app is part of a larger project we can’t disclose at this time.

What was the team composition?

We’re working with Xamarin developers with Android, iOS, and Windows development expertise, backend developers with database and cloud development expertise, a project manager, and QA testers. There are also various other stakeholders.

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

We’ve successfully developed four cross-platform applications and started selling one of them. Additionally, we’re in the process of commercializing the other three. There’s been small-scale adoption, but we need to enhance our functionality to establish wide-scale adoption.

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

My communication is mainly with the project manager and developers assigned to the particular project we’re working on at the time. Testing was difficult because they were working with an additional peripheral. This required the peripheral to be plugged into the device to test the application, which made it impossible to test in a simulation environment. We worked around that restriction though. 

What did you find most impressive about this company?

QSS is always very patient and willing to go the extra mile to ensure success, even when our team isn’t as formal about project management as they are. I’m also impressed by the depth of experience and number of developers they employ. I’m confident that QSS’s team can meet all my development needs. We’re both committed to a long-term partnership.

Are there any areas for improvement?

There are areas for improvement on both sides. As the primary stakeholder, I’m working on establishing more structure and knowledge regarding project management so requirements are better defined for QSS, which will prevent rework. On QSS’ side, they need to ensure the applications adhere to graphic design specs we provide. This will come naturally as we establish design standards for all apps on all platforms. This has been a learning process for both of us, as we challenged the development team with new biometric requirements.

I'm the CTO at The AlterNetWays Company. We develop software solutions for various transportation needs, primarily volunteer driver programs.

We're a small organization, so we needed additional development resources.

We had a scope of work we needed them to complete, so we gave them documents with our requirements and discussed our goals via online conferencing. They're helping us write a new version of an existing application in a modern technology. We're a doing a Microsoft stack application, so they work with SQL server, database, and ASP.NET MVC. They also use a lot of JavaScript libraries, bootstrapping, and jQuery. They do everything from writing start procedures in our SQL server and producing controller code in C# to developing the frontend in HTML.

I've been in business for a long time, and I've been very pleased with their work. They listen to what I'm saying, respond promptly and ask the right questions. First, we interacted daily because I wanted to bring them up to speed with the technology stack. Now, we have bi-weekly meetings via GoToMeeting (we're in different time zones, so that works best). We interact daily via shared Google Docs, where they type their questions and I answer them.

What did you find most impressive about them?

They're reliable and able to solve difficult technical problems, particularly when it comes to user interface and testing. They understand our needs and requirements very well.

They produce a lot of code for us. In the beginning, we had to make adjustments to make sure it's done according to the way I wanted the application to be built. (They have a lot of experience, so they were tending to use their old format for coding.) But that was just a workflow, and we overcame all the challenges successfully.

The quality of work is going to be better if more people are working on the code, so I'm happy I brought them on board. It's also an opportunity for me to learn because they ask me questions and show me new features.

I’m the owner of WA, LLC. We offer a messaging app that allows users to send delayed messages up to 50 years in the future.

I commissioned another vendor to build this application for iOS, Android, and web, but the partnership fell through. I engaged QSS Technosoft Pvt. Ltd. to finish the project and deliver an MVP.

What was the scope of their involvement?

It is easier for development teams to restart from scratch, but I lacked the time and resources to do this. QSS Technosoft Pvt. Ltd. accommodated my constraints and worked with pre-existing code to bring my concept to life. The app allows users to send messages in the future on a designated date or under specific circumstances. Project is a remote surveillance solution which is being used in ATMs. There are multiple components - Desktop application, Windows based server application, Hardware (camera, sensor, alarm, etc.) integration, IoT. Plan is to expand this application to include AC control, light control, etc.

Earlier we were using a software from 3rd party and we did not have control on the features. We wanted to build our own software and QSS helped us in achieving this objective. Now we have complete control on the features and we are coming up with new enhancements and innovations which is helping new business objectives of our clients.

I am running a software development company and we work with lot of customers to build custom applications in different verticals. We involved QSS to work on a big healthcare application.

We were looking for a neat, good looking, quality application and we were clear with the expectation right from the start.

Project was a Clinical Survey application for a surgery related product. We wanted to build a web interface for management of hospitals, doctors, nurses, etc and for analysing the data captured from mobile application. There was mobile app for end users and we were capturing data (user behavior) from this app. QSS team involved a Project Manager and Business Analyst to lay out the requirement and wireframes which was taken over by their development team. They provided end to end development of the application.

We were interacting with a dedicated Project Manager for this project who was working with a team of Senior Designer, Business Analyst, 2 Backend, 2 Frontend and 2 Mobile Developers and 1 Senior QA.

Can you share any information that demonstrates the impact that this project has had on your business?

QSS had already worked on Clinical Survey applications and that's we chose them. This actually worked. The initial requirement discussion was the stage where their previous knowledge helped us in coming up with a clean requirement which eventually our application.

Having a dedicated Project Manager really helped in smoothly executing this project. We were following Agile scrum practices where we used to interact with all the team members as well.

Technical depth and domain understanding was the most impressive skills because of which we chose them. We were happy and satisfied with the work of the company.

They are a mid level company having well established project processes. But there are definitely improvement areas needed. We are planning to engage them for other domain projects and we need to see how well these guys can handle those.
