A Clutch analyst personally interviewed this client over the phone. Below is an edited transcript.
Introduce your business and what you do there.
I am the owner of Alliance Tutoring which is a collection of subcontracted tutors that offer high-quality services to kids for course assistance and test preparations.
What challenge were you trying to address with ProStrategix?
We reached out to Prostrategix for business consulting services, specifically in relation to marketing and branding. We wanted to focus on how to package our image in a strategic way to be marketed on our social media and other channels of communications.
What was the scope of their involvement?
ProStrategix provided research and testing for several different approaches I was thinking of doing. They used social media to see which market would be more profitable on a return on investment basis and determine which model had the best chance of success. They put together a package that described what marketing approach was best suited for influencers to target.
The package they developed had a specific plan that provided the timing, content, and the costs of acquiring influencers. It was a good jumping-off point on how to approach the whole idea. On top of that, they provided a simple content calendar that was researched and tested on to generate the best following. Facebook, LinkedIn and Instagram were the prominent platforms they used to shape the calendar.
Besides the branding and digital strategy services they did for us, they offered a free demo specifically for LinkedIn strategy, wherein they tought us how to nurture and develop referrals through LinkedIn. It wasn’t part of the original contract but I thought it was really generous.
What is the team composition?
My main point of contact was Brian (Founder), and I also had a back-and-forth with another person who ran our LinkedIn campaign.
How much have you invested with them?
I believe we’ve invested around $5,000.
What is the status of this engagement?
We worked together from June 2020–November 2020.
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
Determining the return on investment is a real challenge because, as Brian described it, my clients tend to have a long tail. I’ve had clients for several years now who we are still engaged with, and some have been with me before the business started.
It’s complicated to tell, especially with the pandemic and how it’s been affecting schooling and tutoring, so I can’t give an informed answer as of the moment.
But, Brian and the team have been great. They’re responsive, thorough, and knowledgeable. Brian listened very well and they did a great job of identifying challenges and figuring out what was on our minds. For me, that’s an underrated quality.
How did ProStrategix perform from a project management standpoint?
They performed great. We met on Zoom and they put together a PowerPoint presentation which wasn’t fancy, but it really didn’t need to be. We communicated mostly through phone calls.
Are there any areas they could improve?
Nothing really springs to mind.
Do you have any advice for potential customers?
My advice would be to have a developed and crystallized sense of your goals. Don’t rely on business consultants to produce answers for you, but rather look for them to produce the means to obtain those answers. Keep in mind that you’re still very much the architect of the project itself.
ProStrategix has successfully consulted and presented the clients with the best marketing approaches in building their online presence. While they couldn't provide any measurable outcome, stakeholders were thoroughly impressed with the team's responsiveness and knowledge in the industry.
