Increasing organic traffic to a real estate site
The largest real estate marketplace in Ukraine DOM.RIA contacted us with a task to improve website ranking on SERPs and attract the target audience from competitors and keep this audience loyal.
SOLUTION
- We analyzed user demand, competitors' search traffic, and made up a relevant semantic core for website promotion.
- Identified pages that don’t rank well for specific query groups/clusters.
- Took steps to get the pages to the top of the search results for relevant search requests.
- Corrected technical errors on the website.
RESULTS
For six months in five priority cities, together with the DOM.RIA team, we managed to improve the positions of the website for targeted queries for the sale of real estate in the TOP-1 by 41% on average.
The result of the task of attracting the target audience from the main competitors was a 95% increase in new users (year-over-year). The total number of sessions also increased by 36%.

Promotion of a neo bank app after its launch
We helped Leobank launch their digital bank in Azerbaijan. As a result, the Leobank app received a 4.8 rating on App Store and a 4.4 rating on Google Play! And they began to receive the planned number of application downloads every day, while the cost of attracting clients with the subsequent activation of the card became 1.5-2 times lower than planned.

Attracting audience to cinemas with display ads
At the end of 2021, the Multiplex team turned to us with the task of attracting more Ukrainians to cinemas again after the lockdown during the New Year holidays. This was at the time of the most anticipated premieres of the year like - "The Matrix: Resurrection" and "Spider-Man: No Way Home"
With the help of display advertising, we needed to reach a frequency of 7+ in a month in the cities where the cinemas within the network are present. Therefore, we decided to launch creatives on several sites at once: YouTube, Google Display Network, and Facebook.
In the course of the flight, we managed to achieve the desired ad frequency of 8.1, which exceeded the target of 7.3 points planned at the beginning of the flight. Based on the dynamics of the brand query trend line, we saw an increase in Multiplex brand traffic in Google Trends.

The Bomba brand was founded in 2002. The company opened an online store a few years later. However, this business area was not a priority until 2020. Introduce your business and what you do there.
I’m the marketing business lead at Fintech Farm, based in the UK. Our main business is to create neobanks in different countries.
What challenge were you trying to address with Promodo?
Our main challenge was breaking into new markets, such as Azerbaijan, and having good results.
What was the scope of their involvement?
Promodo has helped us launch our new digital marketing campaigns for Azerbaijan. They started with market research; we created a list of competitors and checked their marketing and performance strategies to help form our own. From that research, we realized we needed app store optimization (ASO) and SEO because we’re an app-only product and our customers look for us on Google.
After forming our strategy, we decided on the tools: Facebook Ads and Google Ads. Promodo also helped us build our campaigns on the creative side. For this, we also checked what our competitors were doing and picked up what was most effective. We collaborated with the team to create a list of promo campaign materials.
Currently, Promodo is running digital campaigns for us every month. They're also helping us with separate projects for Nigeria and Vietnam. The team helps us with analytics; they provide reports and handle marketing analytics tools.
What is the team composition?
At the beginning of the project, we worked with business managers who helped us understand what we needed and get the team together. We have a project manager who runs all our communications, and Promodo has different teams for every area. There is a team for Google Ads and Facebook Ads, another for ASO, and one for SEO. We also work with an analytics team.
How did you come to work with Promodo?
They’re very famous in Ukraine, and they’re the ones that come to mind when looking for performance engines. Promodo has a lot of remarkable case studies in the market, including working with our company in Ukraine, which is a case that's been widely discussed there. We knew they had the experience, and many people from our company had worked with them previously, so we decided to invite them to our project.
How much have you invested with them?
So far, we’ve spent around $10,000–$15,000.
What is the status of this engagement?
We started working together around May 2021, and the engagement is ongoing.
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
We’ve had very nice results from our collaboration with Promodo. We started the project as a new company, and now we have more than 300,000 clients in Azerbaijan. We also have 1 million app installs in the region, and the share of paid installs is almost 25%.
These results have exceeded our goals, and that's because we organized our marketing strategy well, which has helped us minimize the cost of installing and get the most out of the money spent. We plan to keep working with Promodo because we still have a lot of challenges to meet in the future.
How did Promodo perform from a project management standpoint?
Project management is my favorite part of working with them. The team is always available when we need them, even during weekends or holidays. We always get feedback on questions and issues fast, and they’re responsible for communicating. We have a weekly call which we plan with Google Calendar. They also have many documents in Google Sheets, which they update whenever they do something. For urgent messages and unusual issues, we use Telegram chats.
As for timelines, I can’t think of any case where they didn’t meet deadlines. They deliver our reports on the first day of the month. Many things are automated on our end, which helps them move very quickly.
What did you find most impressive about them?
I’m Impressed by Promodo’s results and performance. When they made their initial offer for collaboration, they forecasted some figures, and their predictions happened. They’re exact and clear because they dig very deep into the market and our company. They understand our business very well, so they build effective performance strategies.
When we decided to start our projects in Nigeria and Vietnam, we didn’t consider another agency. We automatically decided we wanted to go to new markets with Promodo because they’re 100% true in what they do; when we ask them for something, they deliver. I’ve had many experiences in my career and have worked with companies that couldn’t get results. With Promodo, we consistently achieve what we need.
Are there any areas they could improve?
The one area they could improve is to spread worldwide. While they have good expertise in Ukraine, more experience in different markets could be the next stage of their development. There’s a big difference in geographic zones, so it would be great if they had different teams worldwide that could help us understand some regions' markets better and faster.
Do you have any advice for potential customers?
You should be aware that you’ll need time and resources to help guide Promodo on your project. When you collaborate with a marketing agency, it doesn’t mean they’ll do everything for you; you’ll be involved in many calls and reports. You must be very professional and have marketing knowledge. Additionally, I recommend listening to Promodo’s advice — there’s a basis and a reason for it if they propose something.

I flew out to Kyiv to problem-solve with the team the approach. The works started well and we had a great PM. PM left the firm and everything started to fell apart. Promodo asked for $8,000 for the work that was scoped for $2,000, even though it was already 60% complete and then created a back-forth with many stakeholders that lasted for 6 months! Then we've decided to stop the project and they promised to issue a refund. Once I signed the refund release form, they said that they will issue a credit as they don't do refunds. That created another 2 months of discussions before they finally returned the money.
How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?
It wasn't. The project wasted my time and money

The Dveri Belorussii brand has been developing successfully since 2005. Currently, our retail network comprises 135 official outlets and 130 partnered brand departments. We deliver our products to Ukraine, Belarus, Moldova, Kazakhstan, Russia, Azerbaijan, and the European Union.
Our company's online business was not highly developed, so we decided to improve it. Our goal was to take our Internet shops to leading positions on Internet searches. In this regard, we needed to come up with a strategy of our brand promotion in the Ukraine and Russia, which would result in achieving stable sales flow through the Internet shop and brand promotion to our target audience.
First of all, we needed Promodo to carry out the basic work, which means to fix all the technical errors because it would be impossible to promote project without it. We then needed them to modify the website structure following a deep analysis of our niche and that of our competitors.
We also wanted to add information about the company's representative offices on Google's local services pages. We also needed help with crowd marketing, content marketing, working with a reference profile, Google AdWords search and advertising, and Yandex.Direct search advertising.
In Ukraine, Promodo is a very popular company in the digital market. In their portfolio, they have many e-commerce projects. That is why we chose them.
As far as Promodo is concerned, everything was performed with high quality and completed on time. A team of four people was engaged in this project. Their customer orientation and the dedicated team we had was at the highest level.
During a relatively short period of cooperation of approximately six months, our website positions in the competitive SERP [search engine results page] have increased by 2.5 times. Our sales are up 25 percent as well. Contextual advertising, when it is set properly, attracts a quality audience to us, which is converted then into sales.
My advice to a future client is to set strong KPIs [key performance indicators] with the Promodo team. It will make the project more successful.

I’m the head of marketing in the company.

We had a SEO project with them and they also were managing our paid search in Google. Both those projects were quite successful.

Originally, the job was for organic SEO and when we saw that the results were good for that project, we also added more capital for paid search.
How did you come to work with Promodo?
We had a combination of criteria that we monitored and that included case studies from other clients. Some of the references that we got from their clients, along with other criteria we wanted, drove us to select Promodo. Initially I found them by searching Google and monitoring various references to the company.
Could you provide a sense of the size of this initiative in financial terms?
We are working on a monthly retainer. Annually the cost is around $10,000 to $50,000.
What is the status of this engagement?
We have several projects with them. At the moment the work is ongoing. Parts of the project have been completed. We have to have ongoing work on our website to be better positioned in Google search.
Could you share any statistics or metrics from this engagement?
They improved the presence of our website in organic search and improved the traffic and leads we get from our organic search. All in all, we are happy with the results we received from Promodo and would recommend them. We took their advice on improvements and enhancements. Promodo has made recommendations to help us maintain our position over time ever since we improved our website and made it more appealing for potential visitors.
I don’t have specific metrics, but from what I remember, we grew our organic traffic and leads from organic search 200%.

We are a fantasy football company. We run a website called 4for4 Fantasy Football, and we're mostly a subscription-based site. We publish statistics and articles, and we have tools and tips available to our subscribers.
What is your position?
I am the owner.
What business challenge were you trying to address with Promodo?
I just wanted someone to do an SEO [search engine optimization] analysis of the site. We were doing a website redesign and upgrade with another company that was also from Eastern Europe. I wanted someone to write a document of all the recommended changes and actions so we'd have a guide to look at as we're making decisions on the next project.
Please describe the scope of their involvement in detail.
They did an audit. It was a three-part audit. The first part was analysis of redirects, advice for Google Webmaster tool setup, Google analytics tracking goals, and then recommendations on thank you pages or exit pages.
They gave us a 10-page PDF with many different suggestions for best practice practices as far as URL-based duplicate content, some things we were supposed to change in our HTAccess files. They gave us some examples. The document was good.
We usually don't receive documents that are as detailed and professional from our vendors, but Promodo stood out. It was professional with lots of screen shots specifically about things we should do and recommendations for setting up Google products.
The second part of the audit was looking at our current traffic and conversion rates, our current site performance, and browser vs. mobile vs. desktop. There was an analysis of our current traffic.
They then looked at our primary indicators so the number of index pages in Google, search engine credibility, and back links. They were giving an overview of what we have currently.
The third analysis was about page rank factors and accessibility of our site. We examined usability, and they had suggestions. Promodo also sent a large analysis of keywords that we weren't targeting and then other keywords that would be better to target.
How did you come to work with Promodo?
They were recommended by the web development company that I'm working with. I'm not sure if they have a long-standing relationship. The pricing was $1,000. Many other firms wanted a 12-month commitment with a minimum of "X" spend per month. I wasn't looking to jump in that deep at that point in time.
Could you provide a sense of the size of this initiative in financial terms?
It was $1,000 total for the three-part audit.
What is the status of this engagement?
It was a one-time project that has ended. They did follow up to see if we needed anything else. We decided to hire a digital marketing person who knows many of the strategies that they were bringing to the table. I would definitely recommend them if someone needed the services they provide. They did a good job, and I was happy with the price for sure.
Could you share any statistics or metrics from this engagement?
It's been a continual process for the last three years of improvement. It's hard to say exactly what they directly contributed to. I know we took many of their suggestions on board when we were building out the new site, but we've also taken on suggestions from employees here and the developers that were building the site.
I think the data they provided was good. We've seen an increase in traffic. We had 4 million hits last month, which was the first time we've ever done that. I wasn't only working with these Promodo on SEO work, so it's hard to say that their exact contribution.
I know we are trending well in terms of traffic and just in all growth metrics. We're doing well. They were definitely a part of that. Our subscriber base is up 75 percent this year, which is strong. Our revenue is going to double this year, which is awesome.

Promodo was great. It was a small project, but they delivered more than expected.

My contact spoke very fluent English. Some companies abroad communicate perfectly and some of them cannot. It's definitely nice not to have a language problem. We did everything via email and Skype and that's definitely the way I prefer to work.

A Clutch analyst personally interviewed this client over the phone. Below is an edited transcript.
Introduce your business and what you do there.
I’m the senior software engineer at xscores, a live scores data company for sports. We have a website where viewers can view the live scores for free.
What challenge were you trying to address with Promodo?
We needed help with SEO for our website that was already built.
What was the scope of their involvement?
We hired them mostly for SEO services for our website and Android App, and they helped us with some design recommendations. Additionally, they advised us on how to rank better on Google by doing some tests and suggesting things we could fix or change — it was mostly done for the pages on our website.
They’re also hands-on with some programming, and their biggest job was consulting us though.
For the app, we requested that they take a look at our ASO which is the respective SEO. They provided us with keywords, images, and other recommendations on how to rank better in the Google Play Store. In addition, they were supposed to provide us with PPC, but we paused our collaboration due to COVID-19 — we’ll hopefully resume in September.
What is the team composition?
There were six people involved in the project, including a project manager, three SEO specialists, one content writer, and an advisor for the app.
How did you come to work with Promodo?
The owner heard about them from another company who recommended them to us.
How much have you invested with them?
We spent €2,500 EUR (approximately $2,900 USD).
What is the status of this engagement?
We worked together from July 2019–January 2021.
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
Our SEO rankings have improved since we’ve done their recommendations and followed what they said. Our app’s ranking improved as well.
How did Promodo perform from a project management standpoint?
Their project management was very well organized — a project manager and a coordinator directed us to the correct person to speak to on their team, who were all very cooperative. We use Slack, Skype, and we also visited the team in person.
What did you find most impressive about them?
I liked that they were so organized. They were very understanding of different issues, and were very good and easy to work with.
Are there any areas they could improve?
No, there’s nothing they could improve.
Do you have any advice for potential customers?
I already recommended them to another company.

I am the founder and CEO of a company that operates a lottery ticket portal called onepoundlotto.com. From here we sell global national lottery tickets for the largest jackpots in the world.

We hired Promodo to market our online business. This was to be done via PPC and SEO campaigns. The main goal was to create traffic, brand awareness, and ultimately sales

Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?
Since implementing the SEO efforts onepoundlotto.com was ranking in the top ten for lots of our lotteries. This was exceptionally good due to the level of the competition that we were up against. In terms of PPC, we were peaking at 8500 visitors to the site/month from a £1k monthly google ads spend.

Great communication. Miles was always on hand to talk me through anything that I was not clear on.
What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?
Their knowledge of a fast-paced industry is exemplary. They are able to evaluate your business needs better than you might be able to. Especially if you are new to the industry like I was. They also have the ability to stick to deadlines, are honest and genuinely want you to suceed.

What did you find most impressive about this company?
Excellent communication by Promodo members, always accommodating, always listening client's feedback, new ideas to improve our business in online platforms. Unlike most companies in the same field, Promodo prefers to work in client's allocated budget, great value for money.

We can not fault their services and advises so far. Always happy to work with them.
