Please describe your company and your position there.
I am the human resource generalist at XPO Logistics.
For what projects/services did your company hire Promatics Technologies, and what were your goals?
I had an idea to connect patients with doctors for consulting via video call. I gave the contract to develop my website and mobile apps to Promatics.
How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?
I sent out requests to many vendors in India when I was looking for a tech company. Promatics responded fast and I liked their portfolio. They have had experience in building similar projects in the past so they had an advantage.
Describe the scope of work in detail, including the project steps, key deliverables, and technologies used.
I wanted to build this product so that average people can easily book a doctor’s appointment and see the doctor online from the comfort of their home or office. This will save everyone’s time. I set out to build a website, both android and iPhone apps and a web panel for myself to keep a tab on the statistics. They built 4 apps in total. A potential user can browse the various categories and use filters to select a doctor of his choice. He can check out his profile and credentials or reviews.
The platform will also allow doctors to manage their schedules. The patient can book appointments and pay. There would be a facility to pull his medical records and other data. The video call technology is being used from WebRTC. Everything is HIPAA compliant. The platform has a double revenue generation model with monthly subscriptions and commissions from consulting.
How many resources from the vendor's team worked with you, and what were their positions?
The team consisted of 6 people. I like the person who was in charge, he was really amazing. His name is Hari. He is very diligent and resourceful.
Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?
I am contented with where we have arrived. The UI and design of the apps and website look top-notch. I am onboarding doctors on the platform now and am happy to see they are finding it good. As the platform is being used we are getting a lot of feedback so we are making improvements and optimizing it.
Describe their project management style, including communication tools and timeliness.
The project manager orchestrated a great ability to execute my requirements and turn them into a well-working solution. The development team was friendly and had excellent communication. They had very professional responses and attention to detail in all project meetings. This made me all the more confident they are in full control.
What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?
like the fact that they gave a lot of ideas and suggestions thus bringing in a sense of co-ownership and partnership in the whole development. Their prices were competitive and the service was great. What they quoted initially for full development was honored. They did not ask for a raise midway. I would also like to comment that they have an incredible ability to educate people not from a technology background.
Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?
Nothing much because this engagement worked well on all fronts.

Please describe your company and your position there.
Aditya Birla needs no introduction as it is one of the largest Indian conglomerates with more than 100,000 employees in approx 35 countries. We have interests in insurance, retail, cement, finance and mining etc.
I am employed in the digital marketing division and handle our digital push including digital presence, awareness, social media and digital marketing.
For what projects/services did your company hire Promatics Technologies?
We have to roll out a digital product precisely a cross platform mobile app for our customers who walk in our garment retail stores. The app helps our customers to find out their exact size and fit so that they can choose the garment with the perfect fit.
What were your goals for this project?
We need the mobile apps to work on both mobile platforms including tablets. These apps would be installed on the devices of our employees in store as well as the tablets we provided to them. The apps will then be used by our customers eventually.
The app allows customers to measure their size in a very innovative way. This proprietary app technology will help us advance our no touch initiation and make our retail stores smart stores.
How did you select Promatics Technologies?
Promatics was recommended to us by our brand consultants. They have worked with these guys before and were vouching for their quality and professionalism.
Describe the project in detail.
The project involved building cross platform apps on Flutter. The apps were to be made compatible with iPads and Android tablets as well. There was a back end panel too which we access via a browser and acts as a control center for everything related to the apps.
What was the team composition?
We communicated mostly with a project manager who seemed to know what he was doing. He was dedicated in his approach. We were told that 4 different resources worked on different aspects of the platform.
Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?
We have implemented the product in a few of our stores in the western region. The feedback received from our store manager is encouraging. We have to convince customers to use the app and once they use it they seem to be happy and like the app.
We anticipate some things would require change but that would happen a few months down the line.
How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?
We communicated over teams once a week. The project manager was responsive and was always ahead of us. Actually, I now realize they are great with customer service and their communication skills are second to none.
What did you find most impressive about this company?
These guys are very concerned about the well being of our project till now. They are curious and ask great questions. That led us to believe that they are serious about understanding our needs and bringing our ideas to reality.
Are there any areas for improvement?
I do not like Slack however most of the project management was done over there so that can change.

Please describe your company and your position there.
I am the CEO of Reign Technologies. A startup company based in East Africa. We create and provide digital solutions for various sectors in the region.
For what projects/services did your company hire Promatics Technologies?
Our company's first project was a food ordering and restaurant management application that is going to be a digital solution in the hospitality sector in our country. As a startup company, our team wasn't able to execute and create this application by ourselves, therefore, We hired Promatics to turn our brilliant idea into a well-working application.
What were your goals for this project?
Our goal was to bring/introduce a game-changing application to our country. Rwanda is ranked among the best tourist destination of 2021, we want to make sure that the hospitality our visitors and our fellow citizens receive is fast, reliable, effective, and most of all smart and modern. Our application, QuickTapp, is going to do that for us.
How did you select Promatics Technologies?
We searched online on clutch co and two other websites for software and mobile app developers that would complete our project in the shortest time possible and work with the budget we had in mind. Promatics, among so many we talked to, had the best reviews, replied very fast, and met all our conditions and requirements easily.
Describe the project in detail.
After we evaluated Promatic's project proposal and agreed to hire them, the next step was easy. We already had mockups and designs done, so the first of eight weeks was to understand and study our project. The following 6-7 weeks was developing the project, building the back and front end.
Our project manager from Promatics was very helpful, held meetings, and communicated to us about every progress in the development of the application, and most of all implement all the changes that we required immediately.
What was the team composition?
We were assigned a project manager to assist with any queries we might have and update us on every step/stage in the development of our application. 2 Senior programmers, 2 junior programmers, 1 testing engineer, and 1 Designer.
Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?
We launched our app about 3 weeks ago, and we have received very many positive feedback from the users. They say its user-friendly, very easy to use, has so many interesting features and most of all improve their dining experience. I am more than confident that as many people use it, this will change very many things regarding hospitality service in our country.
How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?
The project manager that was assigned to us was not just friendly, but also very easy to communicate to, understood all our queries easily and implement/acted on them as soon as possible, kept us updated every step of the way, and to this day he still checks in on us. The developers have also done a very good job, they have acted on everything we have asked them to in a very quick time.
What did you find most impressive about this company?
I was most impressed by the knowledge and experience that the Promatics team and developers have. They were very brilliant, creative, and very hard working. Most of the developers that we were considering to work with were giving the project 4-5 months to be completed. But Promatics completed the project in 3 months and provided us with an extra 3 months of maintenance for free.
Are there any areas for improvement?
None I can think of now. They have completely earned our respect and we will always come back to them.

Mobile App Dev and Logo & Web Design for Social Media Firm
"The turnaround has been tremendous."
the reviewer
the review
A Clutch analyst personally interviewed this client over the phone. Below is an edited transcript.
How much have you invested with them?
We spent $2,200.
What is the status of this engagement?
The engagement was from April–November 2020.
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
The project is almost done. The turnaround has been tremendous.
What we see published on the Play Store is something that’s close to reality. Our intention is to have something that can be pitched to the industries. The app that we have now is very close to that.
How did Promatics Technologies perform from a project management standpoint?
The deadlines were delayed, but that’s because the requirements also changed. The project management was decent. The delivery has been up to the mark.
They’re doing the testing now, and I’m getting good feedback through email. I’m pretty happy.
What did you find most impressive about them?
They’re responsive and are always trying to find a solution.
Are there any areas they could improve?
They can improve in terms of regular follow-up with timeline management. The project deadlines that were estimated got delayed. They could have closer interaction with their customers and increase the visibility of what’s going on. That would give the comfort that there are things happening in the background. It helps in moving forward.
Do you have any advice for potential customers?
The team is nice. They will always come back to you with a solution. Keep a close follow-up.

Project summary:
Promatics Technologies was hired to develop a social media mobile app, as well to design a logo, website, and landing page.
Feedback summary:
Promatics Technologies hasn't been able to deliver the work they were hired to do, and their code has several bugs. Although they lowered their pricepoint, the result was that they weren't able to properly staff the project. Their salespeople are skilled, but their implementation needs improvement.
BACKGROUND
Introduce your business and what you do there.
I’m the co-founder of a startup made up of three members. We’re a social media company.
OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE
What challenge were you trying to address with Promatics Technologies?
We needed someone to develop our mobile app.
SOLUTION
What was the scope of their involvement?
Promatics Technologies developed our mobile app which is the primary mode of customer acquisition. We had a defined scope of work of how the team engagement would be and what the timelines would be to deliver milestones.
The requirement was for the logo design, website design, landing page, development, and publishing. The app is somewhere between Instagram and WhatsApp. People can communicate by making groups and can also post pictures and go back in time to see what they did before.
This app allows users to create private groups for sharing pictures. It’s like Instagram with privacy. All the pictures can be posted on their wallpaper and then they get an option to look at who is nearby so they can add them as friends or search a nearby business.
What is the team composition?
We interacted with a salesperson who did the proposal. I was expecting there to be a different team in delivery but it was the same person delivering the project. He was the project manager as well.
How did you come to work with Promatics Technologies?
I found them online. I went to a lot of developers’ websites and took quotes from 5–6 competitors. These guys were pretty consistent with their messaging. They share similar principles as well.
How much have you invested with them?
We’ve spent $2,700. When we started talking, it started at $6,000, but we negotiated it down to $2,700.
What is the status of this engagement?
We started working together in February 2020, and the work is ongoing.
RESULTS & FEEDBACK
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
The app is still not live because there are simple bugs that I identified. For example, when you start typing the username and password, the password is shown in text instead of stars. They’re very simple things, so if Promatics Technologies tested once, they’d know these things weren’t working.
Their testing is a total failure. The bugs are really small. If someone really wants to work on it, it can be done in not even a half day's worth of effort. The point is someone has to put in that effort. From $6,000, they negotiated it to $2,700, and I’m happy with that deal if I get the scope of work delivered.
I didn’t realize it would be this bad. That’s why I kept the milestone payments. If I don’t find that they’re working well, then I’ll stop the payment. I was already 60% through the development when I realized that the work wasn’t good. I didn’t want my 60% to go in vain.
I told them I understood they weren’t able to put in the resources and that I was willing to pay them if they delivered. They said they would do that and I didn’t need to worry. They said they weren’t able to put in the resources because I hadn’t paid the money.
How did Promatics Technologies perform from a project management standpoint?
I gave them the money two and a half months ago and I’m still waiting for the app to be published on Google Play. The teammate we work with is good, but I didn’t pay to work with one person. I was told there was going to be a bigger team that was going to support us, but nobody turned up.
This is the reason for the delays and for the poor quality of work. There was no testing throughout. The people at the front are trying to manage it as much as possible. I don’t blame them but the problem is in the backend. There’s nobody to support them.
Since they charged less, I don’t think they’re able to put in the resources to work. It was an 8–week project and it’s now been eight months and the project still hasn’t been delivered. I never received a project plan.
When I ask for a project plan, they say they will send it but they don’t. My contact was communicating with me until I made the payment. Once I made the payment, I had to chase him. I asked for an escalation contact and I didn’t get one.
I tried to search online for an email address but all I found were marketing email addresses. I asked them again for an escalation contact, and they gave me a Gmail email and that’s not even their domain email ID. I don’t know how effective it’s going to be.
What did you find most impressive about them?
Promatics Technologies has good salespeople. They have a good team that does the presales job.
Are there any areas they could improve?
They could work on their implementation.
Do you have any advice for potential customers?
Be sure you have the right escalation metrics.

App Development for Pharmaceutical Company
"I felt during development that my project was given priority. It was being valued."
the reviewer
the review
The client submitted this review online.
Please describe your company and your position there.
I work with a Pharma giant and also in the process of doing a start up that will be focused on a variety of social issues.
I am now in the midst of launching innovative audio-focused social media mobile apps that will raise social issues as well as connect people with similar interests. I am the founder of this startup.
For what projects/services did your company hire Promatics Technologies?
I only had an idea on paper. I needed an experienced consultant to come in and improve that and make it into a realizable goal from a technical perspective. So the first thing was to prepare an SRS. Then convert that SRS into wireframes for the whole apps.
Then draft a great UI design and do full end to end development. I needed native mobile apps for both android and iPhone along with a command center where we can control all aspects.
What were your goals for this project?
I was looking to get android and iPhone apps build that are true to my vision. Since my idea was raw I needed a seasoned guy to come and look at it and help me build these apps in the best possible way since I am not a tech guy.
I do understand tech better than your average Joe but I can't code. My ultimate goal is to accelerate healthcare research, make solutions less expensive and make availability of funding to the most important problems at hand via these apps.
How did you select Promatics Technologies?
I selected Promatics after seeing their work and reviews here on Clutch. I talked to a couple of other vendors as well but what prompted me to select Promatics was the genuineness of their CEO to help me build this platform.
The attention to detail in their proposal was mind-blowing. They pointed out many loopholes in my idea and filled the gaps while other vendors overlooked those. Finally, the value proposition was great too. All the above sealed the deal.
Describe the project in detail.
Well having spent some time in the healthcare sector I understand the various challenges that are hidden to an outsider. I know for sure that a community of like-minded people can be connected via mobile apps that are interested to solve the problems that plague the healthcare sector as well as do some social good.
I did not want to go through the traditional route of messages/video-based community apps. I instead preferred to build the apps around audio. I envision this would be more easy, quick and comfortable for the very busy people that work in this sector.
Once fully launched the apps have the potential to revolutionize how industry, academia and consumers connect.
What was the team composition?
I talked to the CEO initially which was great. Then I was assigned a Business Analyst who helped me polish up my idea, fine-tune my requirement and prepare the SRS. Once I felt comfortable all is covered we started with the process.
The Project Manager allocated to me was very responsive. His experience showed in each stage. He was commanding a team of UI guys, full-stack developers, iPhone and Android developers, web services builder and quality analyst.
They also provided the services of a cloud server administrator who helped us set up our AWS account.
Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?
I have shared the apps with a few of my colleagues and family. The initial reaction is tremendous.
I can say more than 70% of the users have provided positive feedback about the idea and how the apps work. I have received a lot of feedback on how to further improve the apps so we will do that shortly.
How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?
There is a significant time difference between where I live and where they are based. Moreover my working hours are odd. They set up a basecamp account for me and we communicated everything over there.
I never felt that I am not being updated or am being left behind on what is going on. I have good experience in working with remote teams and their operating procedures for remote work were exceptional.
What did you find most impressive about this company?
I felt during development that my project was given priority. It was being valued. This was my concern before selecting a technology agency since they tend to keep old projects on the backburner when they bag new projects.
Fortunately I never felt that way. In fact they keep sending me reminders for tasks and stand up meetings when I was not able to keep pace. It was like everyone on the team is pushing harder to get this through in the best possible manner.
Are there any areas for improvement?
For sure I would like them to take it a bit easy. Some times they get behind the client too much which can get a bit irritating...lol

Webpage & App Development for Event Operator

the review
The client submitted this review online.
Please describe your company and your position there.
I am the director of an Event Management Company. In 2019 I saw an opportunity to develop a marketplace to link Event Organisers with Event Freelancers.
Unlike other existing freelancer sites the Events Industry need people with specific skills, in a specific location on designated dates. A purpose built Webpage and Apps were the best solution.
For what projects/services did your company hire Promatics Technologies?
I hired Promatics to design the webpage and Apps. With that came the development of the functionality to support the goals of the project.
What were your goals for this project?
We wanted to build a marketplace for Event Organisers to find Event Freelancers with specific requirements. By posting a job the event organiser receives a list of freelancers with all the requirements of the job - skills, experience, certifications, date available, cost of services and location.
The main goal was to connect event organisers with event freelancers saving both time and by reducing frustration and anxiety.
How did you select this vendor?
We searched online and compared the services offered by Promatics and other providers. A scope of services was provided to a number of suppliers.
The response from Promatics was superior to the others received. Discussions with the team also reinforced that Promatics had understood the requirements and were the right team for the project.
Describe the project in detail.
Once the project was commenced there was open communication through the whole process, at no stage were we kept in the dark about what was going on with the project. Email updates were supported by phone calls and online chats.
At all times the team were in constant contact to make sure that the project scope was being developed and eventually delivered as per the requirements. The team were also great at suggesting more effective or efficient ways of achieving some of the requirements.
What was the team composition?
We were assigned a project manager who was our constant point of contact. She was amazing, making sure that we knew what was happening at each stage and confirming her understanding of requirements so there were no omissions or surprises along the way. I have worked on many projects and this was one of the best.
Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?
As this is a new project just getting it to market is a great success. As I write this review the Webpage/App has not as yet been deployed due to the Corona Virus however I am extremely happy with the end result and confident that it will be fit for purpose when it is launched.
How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?
The workflow was very effective, having the one project manager to communicate with was great. We are in Australia and Promatics in India, although there is a time difference there was no negative impact on the project delivery, if anything it helped.
I could deal with Promatics after the usual workday which meant the project had my full attention, any changes were made while we were offline and then we could review the following day. Language was also not an issue, I felt we had a really great working relationship.
What did you find most impressive about this company?
I was really impressed by how quickly Promatics understood my requirements even though they did not have an existing understanding of how the event management industry works.
The key was a series of conversations and clarifications so they were clear about the requirements. I am not saying we got it right every time but if either end did not clearly articulate the question or the requirements the issue was dealt with professionally and quickly so the project could proceed without delay.
Are there any areas for improvement?
I was really happy with the process and the outcome.

A Clutch analyst personally interviewed this client over the phone. Below is an edited transcript.
Introduce your business and what you do there.
I'm the founder and CEO of Pata Hao. We mostly deal in the property market, but we also provide marketing for properties online.
What challenge were you trying to address with Promatics Technologies?
We needed an iOS and Android application.
What was the scope of their involvement?
We didn’t have a centralized place where everyone could come and look at our product, or where people could post their properties. We were mostly depending on posters and banners but we wanted to join the digital world and post our properties on the internet.
The application is for both iOS and Android. I prepared a proposal for them as well as basic guidelines for the application. We designed it together and they brought in a lot of suggestions on the technology side of things as that is their expertise. They were really hands-on and were able to deliver the project in seven weeks.
As of last week, we started another contract with them to build us a web portal which will be connected to the application.
How did you come to work with Promatics Technologies?
I was searching for a technology company that was within our budget that dealt exclusively with mobile and web applications. I went online and found several, of which five replied to me. We narrowed it down to two and ended up going with Promatics because they came up with the best solution.
How much have you invested in them?
We spent around $5,000.
What is the status of this engagement?
We worked together on this project from April to June 2018.
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
We started from scratch and now have a functioning application. We just recently rolled it out and they will be running tests for the next three months.
We haven’t started doing business through the application as we're in the process of populating it. We have a campaign encouraging real estate agents and landlords to post their properties online so that we can have them in our application.
Our market is very challenging because it's common for people to use Android 3 and 4, but we've been able to bring a product they can actually install on their phone and that operates without any bugs. They've been very flexible and we received a lot of assistance from them.
How did Promatics Technologies perform from a project management standpoint?
They did well and exceeded my expectations. They went above and beyond to do things I was supposed to do. We had meetings on a daily basis for approval and continuation of every step.
They were able to do the work quickly as I needed it to come out on time. Their timing was perfect. There were several challenges throughout as they're in India and we're in Africa, including a lot of technological differences, but we're pretty happy.
What did you find most impressive about them?
They were very good at communicating, sometimes communicating hourly using WhatsApp.
There were certain things I didn’t initially understand as this was my first mobile application development. We went into this blind and the project manager was very useful as he was able to explain the things we didn’t understand.
Are there any areas they could improve?
In every business, there is always room for improvement. Sometimes it was a bit difficult to communicate because of the language. Right now, I don’t have anything I am unhappy about because they delivered my product in the way I wanted. We wouldn’t have extended the contract if we weren’t happy with them.
Do you have any advice for potential customers?
Focus on marketing as there's a lot of competition there.
In our market, the application we developed is way above a lot of people’s targets. They were the most reasonable I could find.

Introduce your business and what you do there.
I'm the owner of Insightuk, a facility services provider in the United Kingdom.
What challenge were you trying to address with Promatics Technologies?
We hired them to create a quoting system app to better coordinate with our customers.
What was the scope of their involvement?
I had a clear idea of what I wanted the app to do. We went back and forth with the technical aspects, and Promatics helped craft a design. While I initially envisioned a fairly text-heavy layout, they convinced me to add more pictures to increase usability.
They provided wireframes which included a number of features I hadn’t considered, including a notifications section to improve communication with the end user. They then built the native iOS and Android apps for both mobile and tablet platforms, as well as a backend website to store the information.
The app allows our customers to organize their own quotes, but also provides information about all of our services and products.
What is the team composition?
I worked directly with one person throughout the entire process. He was available whenever I needed him and accomplished any task without question. He was a dream contractor.
How did you come to work with Promatics Technologies?
My proposal included a complex algorithm to work out pricing. While we presented this to four different companies, Promatics was the only one that seemed to understand what we were asking. They asked relevant questions about our project, and I could tell they would be a good fit.
How much have you invested with them?
Just under £6,000 [$8,020 USD].
What is the status of this engagement?
We started working together in July 2017 and the app just launched on the App Store and Google Play.
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
We showed demos to industry insiders throughout the development process and they are all very excited to use the app. They love the concept, but also Promatics’ execution.
How did Promatics Technologies perform from a project management standpoint?
We organized the development in stages, tweaking the project every step of the way until it met my exact specifications. We communicated multiple times each day through email, and if I sent them a request, they would respond with the results and next steps.
I’ve asked them to look at a couple of minor problems since launch, many of which they’ve already solved.
What did you find most impressive about them?
I'm amazed they were able to produce such quality results at such a low price. I expected to pay twice as much as they charged. They offered an unending commitment to my product, and the value for money is simply off the charts.
I made a number of change requests throughout the project, and they executed these tasks at no extra cost. While a number of companies claim to guarantee customer satisfaction, Promatics lives up to that promise.
Are there any areas they could improve?
I can't think of anything. They consistently went above and beyond my expectations, so I have nothing negative to say.
Do you have any advice for potential customers?
As long as you effectively communicate what you want, Promatics will work with you until you’re 100% satisfied with the project.

Introduce your business and what you do there.
I work for a very large IT consulting firm as a business analyst. This project was for a startup that I am doing with friends. The company is called Pepoolar.
The startup involves online knowledge sharing of many different topics. Different authors can publish media on our platform and interact with readers to improve the overall education of the group.
What challenge were you trying to address with Promatics?
I needed to hire a development team to build our core product on iOS and Android. We don't offer physical products, our main asset is the mobile app platform.
What was the scope of their involvement?
They built the mobile apps on both platforms from scratch. They were responsible for design, development, and launch. Now that the applications are both live, I am working with them on a three-month maintenance contract. They offered 3 months of free support as part of the main contract.
How did you come to work with Promatics?
I probably found ten different companies. My main criteria was the budget. I spoke to the CEO of Promatics and thought that he understood my vision and would be a good fit. He was convinced that they might be able to achieve what we want to achieve. They also offered a really competitive price.
How much have you invested with them?
The total cost was about $5,000.
What is the status of this engagement?
The total project took eight weeks to complete. We started in May 2017 and published the application live in July.
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
Yes, they were successful. There are definitely hiccups and issues. They were able to fix all the bugs and problems before the deadline. There are always issues during development projects so the changes were expected.
We made a log with all of the issues and tracked them. They were able to fix everything without delaying delivery.
How did Promatics perform from a project management standpoint?
My major communication source was via email but they are open to having phone calls. If you request a call, they will do it. They generally work on India time so we had to speak to them around midnight EST.
I think they are very good with project management. They give you a single point of contact so you just need to email one person. They usually respond within one or two days. Sometimes, they were slow to respond and I had to follow up by email. They followed up within one day probably 80% of the time.
What did you find most impressive about them?
I originally spoke with one of the managers and the iOS developer. I'm very satisfied with their collective experience. They were able to manage the project well and I'm satisfied with their competence.
Are there any areas they could improve?
They definitely need to improve their overall quality of initial delivery. They have internal validation before they hand it to the customer. However, there were a number of mistakes. They probably just did basic unit testing before they passed it to me. I would suggest that they focus more on internal validation.
Any advice for future clients of theirs?
Other customers can really rely on them for development work. If the project requires testing, I would recommend that the client creates their own development testing team. I wasn't very happy with their validation. I wouldn't lean on Promatics for testing.
The other suggestion involves the design template. We were over 90% happy with their initial design but of course, we had to provide suggestions on colors and the logo. It is pretty good but not as strong as their development competency.

Platform Development and Enhancements for Beauty Startup

Introduce your business and what you do there.
I’m the co-founder of an online platform based in Hong Kong through which customers can make appointments with salons or with freelance beauty professionals who come to them. For the moment, we’re focusing on the Hong Kong market.
What challenge were you trying to address with Promatics?
We engaged Promatics to develop the mobile responsive website. We asked them to do the web design as well as the backend development work.
What was the scope of their involvement?
They created the entire platform for us. We had an idea in mind already, and they provided some design concepts. It’s a complex platform, and they were good at replicating what we had in mind. The bulk of the work was focused on the development side. I had given them instructions on how it needed to work, and they came up with options for how to produce the most efficient website. They handled the project management as well.
How did you come to work with Promatics?
We were looking for someone in Hong Kong and other regions. A few development agencies in India were recommended to us, but then we found Promatics on Clutch. They were highly rated, and we decided to hire them because they provided us with the most comprehensive and cost-effective proposal.
How much have you invested with them?
The original quote was $4,000, but since then we’ve requested quite a few changes and additions so the total cost is between $6,000–$7,000.
What is the status of this engagement?
We started working with them in November 2016, and the website has been completed. We still engage them for further support and maintenance work.
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
We haven’t launched the website yet, but we are satisfied with the product. As far as functionality goes, they’ve done a good job, and it’s operating well. In terms of design, they did what we asked, but I think it could be better. We’re working with a PR marketing agency now that has had access to the site, and we’ve shown it to close friends and family. People think the process is smooth and easy to follow.
We have to get salons onboard to partner with us. We had a few salons that were apprehensive, but when we showed them how the website worked and how easy it was for them to monitor the dashboard, they were really positive and liked it. That’s thanks to Promatics because they did a great job with the dashboards.
What did you find most impressive about them?
What I really liked about the team was that whenever I had an issue that needed to be resolved or I saw a potential problem in the way the site was working or the process itself, I could come with ideas to fix it. However, these might not be the most cost-effective solutions. The team is very good at coming up with alternative options to make the process better for us, and they didn’t try to sell us something more expensive. They were good at coming up with productive ideas that were more cost-effective.
Are there any areas they could improve?
It’s a bit unfair to mention the design because we asked them to replicate something. But they could have been better on that front. They’re pretty engaging and took feedback well. Sometimes there were delays, but I think that’s common for IT projects.
Any advice for future clients of theirs?
My advice is for any developer, not just Promatics. The customer needs to be clear about what they want. The issue for us was we hadn’t done research up front, so we had to make changes throughout the process. There were things we thought would work but didn’t. You need to be 100% sure about what you want and have done the research upfront.
Promatics Technologies built top-notch platforms that received positive feedback from their target audience. The vendor had shown a wide array of ideas and suggestions for the project, while still having the ability to finish strict requirements. They also had friendly but organized communication.
