Introduce your business and what you do there.
I’m a percussionist and the leader of a jazz band called Dr. Phill Butts’ Big Band.
What challenge were you trying to address with Pro Cuts Editing Services?
I hired Pro Cuts to edit and produce a music video for me.
What was the scope of their involvement?
In one project, they extracted selections from different files to create a composite audio recording. Pro Cuts Editing Services conjoined the clips we had to seamlessly conjoin sound and video. Ultimately, they produced a video of a program that we can send to our clients.
In another project, they used our clips to produce a long studio-quality video. They added graphics with the narrative. It was very good, so we turned it into an advertising DVD for our band. They archived all of my music CDs and videos, and they use that content to generate video clips for me whenever I need them.
What is the team composition?
I was primarily working with Ken (Director of Post-Production).
How did you come to work with Pro Cuts Editing Services?
I found them through a google search. While I was considering some other companies, they were local to me, and I felt that I could use their services.
What is the status of this engagement?
We started work in April 2020 and I continue to rely on them for video-related tasks.
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
Their work has been very productive from a promotional standpoint. One of the more tangible results of their work is that people wanted copies of our DVD once we marketed it. We sent out many copies to different clients, and we’ve gained performance opportunities through the video’s success. Our vocalist also won a contract with a major recording company, to come out and perform, as a result of that DVD. Thanks to their work, we’ve seen more opportunities for our band.
How did Pro Cuts Editing Services perform from a project management standpoint?
They were outstanding. Once we gave them all the information and data, it took Ken less than 24 hours to turn around the final product. He also offered a one-on-one engagement, where he invites you to his studio. His studio is furnished with all kinds of recording equipment. You can actually see what you’re producing, in real-time.
What did you find most impressive about them?
I’d highlight their consistency and patience. They have the ability to sit down and execute a project collaboratively with the client. They made sure that what they produced adequately represented our band, so I appreciated their hands-on approach. I was also grateful for their quick turnaround.
Are there any areas they could improve?
No, I don’t think so.

Have your material ready and be ready with what you want to do.
Pro Cuts Editing Services executed great promotional pieces that generated business opportunities for the client. The band’s vocalist secured a performance with a major recording label, thanks to their work. The team lead is extremely quick to turn around a project and takes a personalized approach.
