PR for FinTech scaleups
Since being established in 2016, Agicap has continued its venture of entering new European markets to reach a wider global audience and scale their services across boarders.
In their latest funding round led by Greenoaks, Agicap raised $100 million. In doing so, the company reached a valuation of over $500 million (€415 million). Accompanying Greenoaks, existing investors BlackFin Capital Partners and Partech also took part in the funding round.
The remarkable new capital gain is generating even more possibilities for Agicap to provide their 3 500 existing clients with extended service support and welcome new small and medium companies as clients.
With the series B funding coming at a key moment in Agicap’s business growth, PRLab was ready to celebrate the success alongside them. With a strict deadline, PRLab took on the task to make Agicap known in the Dutch market.

Please describe your company and your position there.
I am the SVP of Marketing at NuPay Technologies. NuPay Technologies is a blockchain software development company.
For what projects/services did your company hire PRLab, and what were your goals?
We were challenged with entering a competitive space with no reputation or prior experience. Our goals were to raise awareness for our project, PRISM, and raise the individual profiles of key members within NuPay.
How did you select PRLab and what were the deciding factors?
PR Labs were professional and enthusiastic in their discovery calls, exhibiting a keen awareness of our target industry, had a strong client history and their price point met our budget.
Describe the scope of work in detail, including the project steps, key deliverables, and technologies used.
The PR Lab team would help draft press releases, pitch the releases to publications, developed relationships with important target publications as well as organized interviews.
How many people from the PRLab team worked with you, and what were their positions?
We worked directly with the CEO as well as senior account executives and copywriters. We worked with roughly five or six people in total.
Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?
We received over 50 featured articles and publications in the press. PR Labs helped raise awareness for our project and provided many high-quality backlinks. PR Labs also acquired multiple comment slots for our CEO and CTO.
Describe their project management style, including communication tools and timeliness.
PR labs were efficient, organised and always respectful. Their team helped us meet our goals and gave realistic timelines and expectations. PR Labs were always punctual and delivered pieces as and when described.

Please describe your company and your position there.
I was responsible for launching a global funding announcement for a tech company that serves enterprise clients across various industry verticals in emerging markets.
For what projects/services did your company hire PRLab, and what were your goals?
Our company was raising a record breaking investment round and we needed to launch a global multi-language campaign for maximum reach to our target audience through top publications and relevant knowledge fountains.
How did you select this vendor?
I setup a scorecard to compare qualified firms with company leadership team. I also researched online and asked people I trust for referrals. Upon receiving a referral for PRLab I included them in the scorecard, conducted an assessment with stakeholders, and reached out to inquire about availability and readiness of high scoring candidates.
Describe the scope of their work in detail, including any steps and the final deliverables.
The firm responded near instantly and expressed interest in the project. The team began with a discovery phase to understand our business and the market we're in, our strategy and objectives, as well as success definition and expectations.
Upon defining the initial scope and schedule, we received a comprehensive proposal that matched our requirements. Services included strategy and planning, writing press releases, pitching various top outlets for features, media training and interview preparation, news syndication, coverage reporting and outreach efforts. They also offered pre and post launch services to support our project.
How many people from the vendor's team worked with you, and what were their positions?
I worked directly with the entire team and some partners. The whole team was very attentive and cooperative from CEO all the way to additional contractors handling extended work.
Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?
Our announcement was featured on all our targeted top tier publications and syndicated everywhere we expected and then some. We exceeded our reach and coverage targets, received many interview requests, and even got featured on TV news channels.
Describe their project management style, including communication tools and timeliness.
We had different phases and multiple adhoc requests so project management style and communication frequency were accelerated and slowed down intermittently. However, the team was very responsive and nearly always available for meetings and calls.
What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?
I was highly impressed by their responsiveness, willingness to help, and their agility in handling shifting deadlines.
Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?
We still got the job done using emails, video calls, and traditional document sharing, however I recommend setting up a centralized platform of sorts, to consolidate documentation, improve collaboration, and accelerate approval cycles.
