Boring Name - Great Videos
PPS Content got its start as a spinoff from Professional Prospecting Systems one of the oldest B2b Marketing & Lead Generation companies in North America.
PPS has always used content to improve results for client marketing campaigns. Animated videos hands down made the biggest impact on the results we saw in our client's lead gen campaigns and in our own campaigns.
We built our own team and started producing whiteboard or sketch videos in 2013 and over time have added additional types of animated videos to better fit all of the brands we work for.
The big thing that makes us different from other animated video companies is that our roots are in lead generation and demand generation. We have of course hired talented creative people, but ultimately we know that a video needs to produce a result. And animated videos do produce results!
Because we managed dozens of client campaigns at a time we're process-driven and that means we developed a process for video production that ensures your video is produced on time and on budget.

Video Production for IT Services Firm
"The value and speed that PPS Content brought were way better than what I expected to get out of the production."

the review
A Clutch analyst personally interviewed this client over the phone. Below is an edited transcript.
Introduce your business and what you do there.
I’m the CEO of a technology services firm based in Richmond. We service the retail and packaged food industries.
What challenge were you trying to address with PPS Content?
We were looking to have an informational video put together to highlight to our retailer and vendor partners the benefits of using one of our technology solutions. For this, we hired PPS Content.
What was the scope of their involvement?
We didn’t have a script, but we did provide PPS Content with a list of key things that we wanted to accomplish. We shared a bunch of information about our products and services and the benefits of using those. We then got into conceptualizing a theme and outlining the takeaways that we wanted to include in our video.
From there, PPS Content proposed a script and initial imagery for which we provided feedback. They involved us each step of the way as they created the animated video. Their team handled everything, from the animations and editing to the creation of a voiceover. They sourced different voice actors for us to choose from as well.
What is the team composition?
I worked directly with just one person from the team. He was the one who relayed and coordinated everything with the rest of PPS Content.
How did you come to work with PPS Content?
We were sourcing local firms but we looked into national firms as well. I came across them through our search and looked up their reviews on Clutch. We decided to work with them based on their quick turnaround since other firms were going to take around 7–8 to produce this video.
How much have you invested with them?
We spent less than $5,000.
What is the status of this engagement?
The video production lasted from October–November 2021. We’re hoping to extend this into a long-term partnership as we certainly will use them again in the future.
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
We shared the video with a handful of our partners and the general feedback was positive. We have yet to launch a campaign around it, so at the moment, we are just using the video internally. It motivates our staff to see the result of what they’ve been working on day to day, and the animated video makes that more tangible.
How did PPS Content perform from a project management standpoint?
PPS Content did a great job. Their communication was strong and they were upfront about their timelines. They either met or exceeded our expectations at every step of the way.
We typically communicated through emails. If there was going to be a lot of back and forth involved, we would hop on a call to quicken the process.
What did you find most impressive about them?
The value and speed that PPS Content brought were way better than what I expected to get out of the production. The video had everything we were looking for, and I don't think we missed out on anything by electing to partner with them.
Are there any areas they could improve?
There’s none that I can think of.

Explainer Video for Forensic Accounting Firm
"With a tool like our whiteboard video, we could shrink down complicated topics into much more manageable messages."

A Clutch analyst personally interviewed this client over the phone. Below is an edited transcript.
Introduce your business and what you do there.
I’m a forensic accountant and certified fraud examiner. I specialize in investigating complex accounting fraud schemes within the insurance and reinsurance industry. My clients are some of the best attorneys in the country.
What challenge were you trying to address with PPS Content?
There was a particular scheme that was very popular at the time, but it was complicated to explain. Every time I tried to convey the topic, it seemed to take longer than it ought to. That’s why Matt’s (Senior Writer & Producer) whiteboard video service was so perfect.
What was the scope of their involvement?
When I first met with Matt, I walked through what I was trying to explain in simple drawings. I showed him how one company would send money to another and how the fraud occurred. Once he understood what I was trying to get across, he started to play with the concept. We regrouped again to go over his ideas, and I knew that that was what I needed to do. In the end, he produced a two-minute whiteboard explainer video that covered a fraud scheme.
What is the team composition?
I worked mostly with Matt, but we also had a conference call with a great artist he worked with in Atlanta.
How did you come to work with PPS Content?
Matt happened to live in Richmond near me, so I was able to meet with him. I actually spoke time him in Starbucks and asked what he did. When he explained his work, I knew that I’d seen whiteboard videos before and found them to be effective. Matt spoke about how data suggested that information sunk in far better with whiteboard videos than other types of videos, so we decided to do it then and there.
How much have you invested with them?
This first project cost about $2,000, which was a great value for the price.
What is the status of this engagement?
The project lasted from July–August 2017. It didn’t take him very long to do, especially for something as complicated as my topic. A colleague of mine and I are still working with Matt. We have a couple of topics we need to get across, so he’s helped us with three more videos.
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
Matt took a complex topic that would usually take 15 minutes to explain and shrunk it down to a two-minute whiteboard explainer video. Suddenly, it made so much more sense! Matt helped me focus on how I could get my concept across.
I now share the video using a Vimeo link to client attorneys, journalists who write stories from me, and other fraud experts. Anyone who’s ever watched the video has said that the topic comes across well.
How did PPS Content perform from a project management standpoint?
Matt performed perfectly. We had face-to-face meetings, conference calls, and shared excerpts via email.
What did you find most impressive about them?
He recognized what the complex issue was and then focused it in a meaningful way. The technology was phenomenal, too. With a tool like our whiteboard video, we could shrink down complicated topics into much more manageable messages.
Are there any areas they could improve?
No, I was delighted from beginning to end, and I continue to use him. I have no complaints whatsoever.

Introduce your business and what you do there.
I’m the owner of an insurance brokerage firm in the San Francisco Bay Area.
What challenge were you trying to address with PPS Content?
We had a really old marketing package. We wanted to add a bit more media content for our site.
What was the scope of their involvement?
First, they sent me a few questionnaires about our company, our target markets, and what sets us apart from our competitors. Then, they created a cartoon-style media video for us. We went back and forth on revisions before reaching a finished product.
What is the team composition?
We worked with Matt (Senior Writer & Producer).
How did you come to work with PPS Content?
They were referred to us by a marketing company.
How much have you invested with them?
I spent around $700.
What is the status of this engagement?
We started working together in May 2019, and the project was completed in less than a month.
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
The video looks great. Unfortunately, my website hasn’t been launched due to the pandemic. That being said, everyone who reviews it says the content is professionally made. I’m very pleased with the overall quality.
How did PPS Content perform from a project management standpoint?
The team delivered on time and on budget. I made one mistake throughout the process, but they were very accommodating. Everything was professional. We communicated via email.
What did you find most impressive about them?
The team is very well organized and fast-paced. I didn’t need to do a lot of babysitting.
Are there any areas they could improve?
No, not that I’m aware of.
Do you have any advice for potential customers?
My advice is to communicate what you need.

"They understood our vision, listened to our feedback, and were able to translate everything into the video."

A Clutch analyst personally interviewed this client over the phone. Below is an edited transcript.
Introduce your business and what you do there.
We are a women-owned outsourced IT company and we provide our third-party clients with managed IT services and custom application development. I oversee the marketing here at the company. I also help our CEO on doing our different marketing initiatives.
What challenge were you trying to address with PPS Content?
We wanted a create a video for a service that we offer through our application development side of the business. As a result, we wanted to have a video on mobile application that would describe what we do, how we do it, and why it was unique.
What was the scope of their involvement?
They developed a one-minute illustrated type video that could set us apart from our competitors. We also envisioned it to be simple and straightforward.
The illustration was combined with a voiceover and an overlaying text over the images. Ultimately, the goal was to generate leads for our business. That’s the reason why we wanted to work with someone that we felt had the ability to deliver on the results we aspired to have.
What is the team composition?
We only worked with Matt (Senior Consultant & Producer).
How did you come to work with PPS Content?
Matt was referred by someone else who used their services.
What is the status of this engagement?
We worked together from December 2020–January 2021.
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
PPS Content fulfilled the vision we had. They produced a high-quality film. However, in terms of helping us generate leads, we haven’t gotten that far yet because we just wrapped up the video.
How did PPS Content perform from a project management standpoint?
Matt had a very good process. Since he had already done something similar, it made the project easy and seamless.
We probably communicated more than three times. The first one was an initial call. Then, on the next call, I brought in somebody else from our team to share their opinions about the project. After that, we had multiple calls where we reviewed the script, examined the storyboard, and talked about revisions.
He was very responsive and easy to work with. His flexibility, positive attitude, and availability were also his key strengths. Above all, they provided a quick turnaround.
What did you find most impressive about them?
I liked their straightforward approach. We didn’t have to go back and forth a lot of times as we did in the past. They understood our vision, listened to our feedback, and were able to translate everything into the video.
We appreciated that he was always willing to make changes until he got things right. He also made sure that we were happy with the way things were.
Are there any areas they could improve?
This was a relatively short partnership and I am satisfied with their approach and results. I can't think of any areas of improvement at this time.
Do you have any advice for potential customers?
Take your time and be willing to articulate your business need and what you’re trying to accomplish so that the output can live up to your expectations. Above all, make sure that they have an understanding of your vision before they start making the video.

We needed their team’s expertise in video production.
What was the scope of their involvement?
PPS Content produced a short explainer video to help forward our mission and vision to our customers. We specifically wanted the content to address the services we provided, so their team took that into consideration during the brainstorming and storyboarding phases.
PPS Content already completed the video, but their team continues to support our content production pipeline, focusing on our client projects.
What is the team composition?
Our main point of contact is Matt (Senior Writer & Producer).

Please describe your company and your position there.
I work as the marketing manager for a car wash solutions and manufacturing company.
For what projects/services did your company hire PPS Content?
Our company started out using PPS for their lead follow up and B2B calling services, from there we reached out about some marketing services around video production which lead to working with Matt and his team. We've done over 6 explainer videos with PPS and could not be happier with the results.
What were your goals for this project?
Our goals were to create informative, easy to digest, engaging videos on our product solutions and benefits. We use these videos at trade shows, on social media/youtube and as customer presentation tools.
How did you select PPS Content?
We were working with them previously on other initiatives.
Describe the video(s) and the process in detail.
We've done over 5 explainer videos with them and the process has been quick and painless. We start out each project with a quick phone call to overview the needs and objective and from there my team works on a script. PPS helps us refine the script and then they'll do the voice recording and we work on an imagery story board for the video. We provided content in the forms of video and photos and they added in where they needed to with additional content and then any graphic or text overlay. They work quickly and most projects were completed within 30 days.
What was your vendors' project management or feedback process?
We have a project manager, so to say, who outlines the process for us, gives us deliverable needs and dates to keep to accomplish on time. I've never had any issues getting the revisions needed to complete the videos.
Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?
Our customers and our sales team love the videos. A great visual way to explain the product or service that's engaging and captivating.
How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?
Our workflow was pretty seamless. Any questions I had on assets, etc it was easy to get in contact with the PPS team to get everything accomplished.

Their speed and knowledge! Everything moved so quickly and seamlessly. They're true professionals who know what they're doing.
Are there any areas for improvement?

For what projects/services did your company hire PPS Content?
We hired PPS to develop an explainer video for our website.
What were your goals for this project?
Describe the problem we solve and how we solve it in a friendly, non technical way.
How did you select PPS Content?
PPS was recommended to me by another vendor that uses them on a regular basis.
Describe the video(s) and the process in detail.
The video can be seen on www.pipe17.com. PPS interviewed stakeholders at the company and then came back with a script, which we iterated on a couple of times. We were presented with a number of style options to choose from for the video. From there they gave us 1st draft of the video, we iterated on the video a couple of times and then we were done.
What was your vendors' project management or feedback process?
Rather straightforward process. We met on each iteration to discuss ideas and changes.
