We wanted to create a platform that would utilize people's mobile phones as smart sensors in a vast city network. People and drivers should share valuable information about free parking lots in real time and earn money with feeding the collaborating network.

Parking Maniacs is a parking navigation app based on a strong community and built like a game. Your earn money by providing real-time information about free parking spots around you. As a driver you can swap your place for another car or be navigated to your fellow driver who will leave his/her spot to you. A game in which you contribute real value to your community/city by navigating cars to the optimal parking spot, while saving fuel, lessening traffic jam and decreasing CO2 emissions.

The process is simple: As a driver leaving his spot you let us know where you go (like google window). Then you are transferred to your preferred navigation and ParkingManiacs platform will do the rest. It will tell the driver at the right time where the nearest parking spot is and how much time it's going to take to walk to the final destination.

We have got enough players to play together: leaving drivers, coming drivers, small business vans looking for spots to unload, lorry drivers on motorways looking desperately for places to do their routine breaks.

Using our neuron network and artificial intelligence, we are able to recognize the free space with just a point of your mobile. A successful match means extra cash for the giver and extra points for saved oxygen for both giver and taker.

Project manager, functional application designer, two mobile developers for iOS and Android and one back-end developer.

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

Revenue for it's users, more oxygen to cities and a lot of fun on a gaming platform that is an information network in the same time.

Great.

What did you find most impressive about this company?

I got to know Matyáš Mandík and his team in Pixelmate in Autumn 2019. I have already dismissed two design studios from my project and knew that I had the last chance to find a team that would help me finish the project. After our initial workshop, it was clear I was working with extraordinary designers.

With great creativity they unified the practical approach needed for a mobile app with the challenges of playful gamified design. Of all four sketches they presented every one of them brought an unique perspective. Pixelmate creates artistic design with great practicality.

The greatest pleasure was to present the design to other stakeholders on the project because, I simply did not need to explain anything. And that's the greatest achievement of application design. I will be glad to have them on board again.

I’m the business architect at Patria Finance, an investment brokerage firm in the Czech Republic.

For what projects/services did your company hire Pixelmate?

We engaged Pixelmate to help us introduce an investment robo-advisory app to the market. We need help translating our wireframes into a functional screen design, developing the mobile app for iOS and Android devices, and improving the apps’ UX.

What were your goals for this project?

We wanted a clean, simple, and user-friendly web and mobile application that would attract a new target audience: retail clients with minimal investment experience. 

How did you select this vendor?

We launched am RFP process for mobile app developers and came with a multi-criteria decision matrix. We invited each company to fill out a questionnaire and then present their work, team, and price parameters. We narrowed the selection to two finalists; after internal voting, we chose Pixelmate. 

Their outstanding pitch came with an excellent price, an impressive team structure, and top-notch references. Pixelmate came across as a group of dedicated professionals with enthusiasm, flexibility, and fresh ideas. The team also demonstrated an organized and professional approach to potential clients.

Describe the project in detail.

We first started with a series of investment crash-course meetings where we introduced Pixelmate to investing and robo-advisors. We described our goals and objectives in more detail, focusing on client segments, turnover, and related areas. We then presented Pixelmate with fleshed-out wireframes for both the web and mobile applications and their user flow. 

The team prepared the logo, look, and feel of the new app. After being presented with several options, we chose one to go with. Pixelmate then designed the screens for the web and mobile apps through three iteration rounds. After that, the team coded the look for all the web screens and built the mobile app completely—including its screens and logic. They also advised us on ways to improve the UX, user flow, and screen composition when needed

What was the team composition?

An account manager serves as our main point of contact. We also work with a project manager and a chief development coordinator who leads a few frontend developers for mobile and web applications. 
 

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

The project is not yet complete. However, Pixelmate has delivered a pilot app that regularly receives praise from audiences for its clean and straightforward design. 

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

Pixelmate’s efficiency and professionalism are hallmarks of their work. We have lean and transparent communication with their team; both the project manager and CEO are only a phone call away if an unusual issue ever arises. We track tasks in Trello, and a status call takes place every week to review progress, needs, and open questions and to plan next week’s assignments. They record meeting minutes and send them out immediately after each status call.

Any deadlines missed come from our side. Pixelmate provides gentle reminders about any deliverables our team needs to produce; in some cases, they are willing to take on more work to keep the project moving.

What did you find most impressive about this company?

Pixelmate is a young yet highly professional company that offers a high level of technical expertise. Their team is collaborative, willing to listen, and enjoyable to work with. They add value by thinking not only as software developers but also as business users when building our app and advising on the UX. Anyone looking for an open-minded and organized vendor with startup-like enthusiasm and efficient project mechanisms should look no further than Pixelmate.

Are there any areas for improvement?

I sometimes prefer more phone communication over using Trello to assign tasks. However, Trello provides greater transparency for the overall team, and at the end of the day, that’s more important to me.

I’m the owner of a running application called C'MON Run.

What challenge were you trying to address with Pixelmate?

As a professional runner, I wanted to create an application for other runners that would stand out in the market.

What was the scope of their involvement?

First, I presented my idea and Pixelmate made subsequent recommendations for the app’s various components. They built the solution for iOS and Android over five months. Although the partnership ended after the initial build, I expect to work them again on marketing and the app’s second version.

I did a Google search and met with 5–6 app development vendors. I hired Pixelmate because their technical and marketing skills distinguished the team.

I’m happy with their work. Users are satisfied with the simple and helpful application.

Communication was difficult early on, but Pixelmate found a way to explain the process using accessible language. The project manager was helpful, providing options—as well as their pros and cons—at each stage.  They were mostly responsive via email. We also used Trello, Skype, phone calls, and video calls to coordinate the partnership.

What did you find most impressive about them?

Pixelmate delivered on every request and desirable.

Are there any areas they could improve?

Pixelmate did everything to give their best effort. However, the younger team would benefit from more managerial resources and skills. That would improve the customer experience and help the company grow.

I am the co-founder of a start-up company headquartered in Manchester, UK. Our project is focused on our flagship mobile app.

We held most of our meetings with the owners of Pixelmate along with other members of the team including designers.

We haven’t finished the project yet. So far, we’ve been making progress with Pixelmate according to the schedule we laid out.

Our communication has gone exceptionally well so far. Pixelmate collaborates with us effectively both during meetings and over email and phone calls.

What did you find most impressive about this company?

I'm the project director for MotorMate GP, a mobile app startup that provides travel guidance and information for the motorsports industry.

What challenge were you trying to address with PixelMate?

We hired PixelMate to build our mobile app from scratch. We wanted the design to be user-friendly for both our target audience as well as for our internal team, so we could easily make updates within the CMS as needed. 

What was the scope of their involvement?

PixelMate designed and developed our mobile app for both iOS and Android, working off some of our storyboarded concepts and design ideas. They provided input on how we could best achieve the UI and designed some branding elements as well, including a logo.

A consultant I worked with previously recommended a few options to us in the Czech Republic area, including PixelMate. After meeting with them, I felt they were the most interested in our project and offered competitive pricing.

We've spent somewhere between $30,000–$50,000.

What is the status of this engagement?

We started working with them in April 2017 and the relationship is ongoing.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

The app PixelMate developed has received a lot of great feedback from users, as well as some large sponsors. We haven't had many bugs or issues, and they've been quick to address anything as it comes up.

How did PixelMate perform from a project management standpoint?

They've been great at managing tasks and I especially appreciate their adherence to quoted deadlines, since we work with a strict events calendar. We mostly communicate through emails and Skype, but we're also able to meet with their team in person every four to six weeks.

What did you find most impressive about them?

Their ability to meet all our deadlines sets them apart–that's hard to find in the development industry.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

I don't have any specific advice, but I'd definitely recommend them to others who value being able to meet with a team in person, because they're very receptive to that. Their business practices are also very friendly to the practices of Western Europe and the Americas, which makes them stand out as an option compared to a vendor elsewhere in my opinion.

We wanted the best one ni this field in our market, and the Pixelmate has one of the best. After the first research and the first contact with owner Matyas we realized that he is the right choice for us.

Our cooperation started with primary presentation of our vision when we have experienced with strong help and enthusiastic energy from Pixelmate, followed by making of percized technical specification. Next steps were followed by countless personal and video meetings. WE communicated with our project manager and with the owner himself as well on daily bases. We have communicate with Trello and via google tools.

Every time from the very first time, we had received all outcomes that was agreed right on time. All of our requests were addressed without delay.

The Pixelmate is founded by young, smart and creative man, with deep knowledge and experience in all IT fields. By the time of our cooperation, we all became friends, with a high level of professionalism.

The website is live, but we haven’t promoted it publicly yet, so there hasn’t been a lot of anticipated traffic. Regardless, we’ve received absolutely positive feedback so far. During the development, we gave continuous feedback, which Pixelmate implemented immediately.

The project manager has been easy to communicate with. He provides us with updates, answers our inquiries, and passes our requests on to the appropriate team member. We use Trello to handle any technical issues and hold conference calls when necessary. They’ve always been capable of responding very quickly.

We’re most impressed by their commitment to the work. Progress has been fast right from to start, and they’ve found solutions to numerous technical challenges throughout.

No, not that I can see. We’ve been more than satisfied with Pixelmate’s overall cooperation and performance. They’ve provided high-quality service, and the results have met our expectations to the fullest extent.
